Hi /toy/ I have a question that you might be able to help me with.
I have memories from my childhood (we are talking end '80s I think) of a cool toy that some of my relatives gave me as a present, but it was somehow lost shortly after (I suspect my parents took it away from me because it contained small parts, but they don't remember).
It was some sort of cool, mechanical robot-like gorilla, about 20-30 cm in height, dark grey in color, and with a red-purple hi tech visor. It looked kinda like pic related, but it was much more "technologically advanced" and less toy-looking, with moving parts and, if I remember correctly, battery-power movement. In fact, I suspect it was a very expensive toy brought by some far relative.
I have tried to figure out what it was for the last N years but with no success so far.
Any vintage toy geek able to help a poor anon?
Thanks!
My first throught would be something from Tomy, the Zoids Genesis Deadly Kong Model Kit GZ-014. However I don't remember it being automated in movement.
Zoids Iron Kong
Iron Kong from Zoids perhaps? I know there are also bootlegs made with the mold.

The Hive Mind strikes again! That's why I love 4chan!!!
Thank you SO much anon! That's really it! :) I have to figure out the right model, but it looks like you got it right!
Now, if I only could figure out where the bloody robot ended up...
