>Upcoming releases
Since people keep complaining, google takara release dates, easy enough to find, hasbro's on the other hand...better follow some Asian fansites, they get theirs before everyone else, otherwise someone is gonna have to provide the dates

Lets try to have a more civil thread this time, but knowing us I'll just grab the popcorn

Honestly I wish some 3P company would just make some replacement parts to fully articulate the G1 figure. Seeing as we already have Warden for the Headmaster, all he'd need is knees and he'd be nigh-on perfect.
>>

Why not just buy the various 3P headmasters instead?

I own Lightspeed, the figure is fine, they fixed the ankle issue from Brakedown, arms are more posable, and though his hips don't lock, they can be considered part of his robot articulation. As a representation of wheeljack, I think it's poor in robot mode but spot on more so than the generations one in vehicle mode.

The ankles or the equivalent to to sole is made from the vehicle spoiler, this is achieved by a simple rotation with nothing to lock it in place for robot mode, this was the issue with Brakedown (I should clarify that I only own the UW version of Brakedown and Lightspeed and no versions of wheeljack, so all this might not even apply to him) but it feels more solid and rigid, which since Lightspeed and Wheeljack share a mold it should apply to him aswell.

Same, although I did pick up a Chromedome because I've always liked his color scheme, and I was surprised to even find one. He's pretty bland, though.

I picked up Lord Doomitron today because I was feeling the Halloween spirit slowly descending upon the land - and he did not disappoint. The little guy looks straight out of hell.

He goes really well with Megatronus too, even if my figure's 5mm handle is just a little bit too large for the big guy's hand. At least they can pal around.
>>
>>5943056
>the lanky proportions fit his cartoon look
Whenever I hear anyone claim that "X proportions match the cartoon", I have to laugh, because the cartoon was hardly consistent with itself as far as proportions are concerned.

Speaking of Megatronus, the RID waves are moving forward and we've Bisk on the approach. Might be the last chance to get him, and I would if I were you.

Sure, he doesn't have the same panache as Quillfire or the novelty of Thunderhoof's altmode - but he's a really solid figure.

Warden is one sexy motherfucker. I can definitely see him as Autobot Supreme Commander as opposed to that deserting pacifist cuck Fortress.
>>
>>5943174
It's really not and I am a fan of the IDW character, but aesthetically the Nick Roche doesn't match the more bulky body designed by Takara since I am guessing the designers were probably more influenced by HM than by MTMTE.

Ok. But having better proportions is kind of defeated by getting almost everything else wrong. The mold just looks bland a dumpy, especially in white. Besides, Generations was never about being 100% accurate to the cartoon. It was always about stylized adaptations of the characters into modern toys, but now, everyone just wants it to be "Masterpiece Lite".

And also, that picture of yours shows Generations Wheeljack hilariously mis-transformed to exaggerate his shortness. His chest and head slide up a lot more than that.

Well, yeah, that's the plan.

>>
>>5942930
>>5942939
Nope, not garbage taste
- On my Highbrow, one hip ratchet is really tight so moving the leg out one click from straight down makes it stick out pretty far making standing really awkward
- No waist swivel
- Those fucking propellers are always in the way in robot mode
- Lame transformation
- His two guns have landing wheels molded on them even though apparently there is no way to attach them to his alt mode so that the wheels can touch the ground
>>
>>5943327
- Bad QC, not a fault of the figure.
- I agree (as well as the lack of wrist swivels) but he can't without a major design change due to the transformation spine.
- That's where they're meant to be, but I get taking issue with it.
- Subjective
- With the hexagonal holes under the wings you can stick the squarish bit of the gun into them for the two additional wheels, I learned this within minutes of owning the figure.
>>
>>5942902
Is this guy supposed to be an update of G1 Topspin?
>>
>>5943338
- Yeah bad QC, but it is a fault, why even have ratchet joints? Not necessary
- Lack of wrist swivels I felt was a given, they're basically a luxury these days unfortunately. I feel like they could've done something to get a waist though
- I just wish the blades could fold or something like with Browning, this is the thing that I hate the most
- Agreed, I just wish it wasn't so simple
- I didn't realize that it would fit, I hate it less now

Oh, and there's that dumb chest flap that they wasted money on that does nothing
>>
>>5943352
No, but there's a rumour we're getting a figure of him in this line.
>>
>>5943366
>- I just wish the blades could fold or something like with Browning, this is the thing that I hate the most

There is a guide on TFW on how to make the blades fold.

http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/g1-style-fold-up-propellers-for-tr-highbrow.1087945/
>>
>>5943366
The flap is for accuracy purposes (see >>5943368)

It can also help stabilize the vehicle mode.
>>
>>5943379
So they spent money on adding a plate on a hinge for the chest for basically useless accuracy, when they could've done something more useful and accurate like folding propeller blades, hmmmmm

So I've swapped the light gold on the [line] Grimlock with the GPS gold of Beast Wars Grimlock to make a Beast Wars Grimlock that won't disintegrate.

But one of the knees on my amalgamation is super loose, how much floor polish must I add to tighten? I'm on, like, my 4th coat now.

The hinge in the shoulders that you swing out for jet mode usually explodes because of the tightness, staged hinge, and the dryness of the plastic. I've also had those pieces break from removing the pin-screw hybrids that hold it together, so chances are you can't take any preventative measures beyond just forgetting the third mode.

3rd party has arguably given us the best figure of many many characters. Best Scourge, best chromedome, best megatron, best Shockwaves, best Octane, best Blurr, not to mention all the IDW characters MMC is making that are great.

Sure some toys have issues, but every fucking hastak toy also has issues to start with so why get the shitty looking one.

I usually only buy stuff on hyper clearance though I picked up a few of the new headmasters.

I will get Chromedome if I can find him for a reasonable price in a real store and I only bought Skullcruncher because he was there and I wanted to compare it to the G1 toy. The new Skullcruncher looks almost as good as that third party one.
Chromedome looks decent too. It's the larger figures that I'm not quite sold on.

The Combiner Wars gestalts would have been better if they had chestplates. I'm still trying to complete my Defensor without paying scalper prices. I already paid $30 for Deluxe Groove, though. Should I even bother with Rook now? Him and Streetwise are the only ones I still need to complete a proper CW Defensor. I don't have much interest in more Combiner Wars stuff outside Defensor since he's my namesake, though I did find a CW Motormaster for $7 without the sword. Completing more CW gestalts would just be too expensive at this point as well. Though, much of the later stuff is more half assed repaints anyway. I might do Menasor if I can find more loose components real cheap but I won't hold my breath.

Anyway, after paying all this for the components, I'm wondering if I should have just ordered a Defensor boxset from somewhere online. Damn, it's 1986 all over again. No wonder they did 't sell Devestator separate.
>>
I wish Target let you order Transformers online with ship to store. Our only online options seem to be Amazon and scalpers these days.

Honestly, Rook makes a better limb than the 'copter mold, but if you want a real "G1" CW Defensor, you won't need Rook. As far as scalper prices, well, you're kind of late on the CW train right now for the beginning wave guys. I got back into TF's Aug. of last year, and thats right when Superion limb prices were already going bonkers but the UW was super cheap, and right before CW Defensor's stuff started to rise, so I got lucky.

You probably should've just bought the box set this late in the game, but the UW Defensor has really bland deco.

Predaking is my designated desk jockey, he's almost always on my desk here. Defensor I just pulled off my shelf to snap a pic. Figured in front of a looming Predaking made a decent pic.

>>5944114

I really like Groove just as a general figure and "accessory" of sorts to any 1/12th figure who can usually ride him. He definitely has his flaws though, especially those super thin plastic stalks for his front wheel, making it near impossible to turn his wheel because those things will DEFINITELY fucking snap like twigs if you try it. You can still find Groove for around $20-25 on most places, and Amazon had him again a few weeks ago for MSRP for a day or two.
>>
>>5944118
Yeah. I order two sets of KOs. The black set feels excellent, the gray set not so much.
>>
>>5944116
X-Transbots sound like the sort of thing you get for a tumblrina with Xis/Xir pronouns, who needs a non-triggering, non-denominational holiday present.
>>
Amazon still has Steeetwise for 18.99 which isn't too bad but not the $9.99 TJMaxx has Deluxes at now. They had Sunstreaker and Wheeljack but I passed on them as I don't consider those retools legit combiners.

I paid about $24 for Blades and $30 for Deluxe Groove but this was at a show so I expected scalper prices.

>>5944105
I thought Masterpiece Seekers were $70 at TRU. At least Acidstorm was.(but who wants him)
>>
>>5943999
Season 2 is G1 S3 done right and Bumblebee is Rodimus un-cucked.
>>
>>5944145
Hasbro ones are like $80 at Tru if you can get one when they are released before scalpers buy entire shipments and mark them up to $120+ on other sites, and those are the hasbro figures. The Takara ones are $170+ depending on the seeker for the reissues.
>>
After they made Scrounge, I decided I needed to make a Spanner. But the damn guy didn't even have so much as a single robot mode image ever, so I basically had to make up a color layout for him. I figured white, gray and black was good enough for the monochromatic appearance he received.

I did come up with a tortured half bridge robot mode before I painted him, and I figure the shuttle mode that can "span" space would be a good fit with Scrounge who's a UFO now.
>>
>>5944187

>>
>>5944190

>>
>>5944187
Scrounge was the one disarmed and dumped in the comics ages ago, right? Spying on Megatron and nobody believed him?
>>
>>5944204
In the Marvel comics, Scrounge helped Perceptor's resistance cell (well, really Blaster) by spying on Straxus, and learning that the Ark crew was alive on Earth. Sadly, they found him, and killed him. Despite this, he managed to deliver the info to the resistance.

In IDW, he shows up as a background hobo in the early days of the Decepticon uprising, then shows up later in Spotlight Metroplex, where he is killed by Sixshot.
>>
>>5944204
He was dumped in a smelting pool and Blaster watched him die as he finally proved to be actually useful. He felt regret for that after, for Spanner too since he could destroy him like he wanted Blaster too.

I liked the WFC/FoC games a lot, but I generally want more G1-esque Dinobots. The Fansproject ones though apparently aren't so great and they're the only ones that are also not straight up MP ones/also don't cost like $150+ per bot.

I still wouldn't call it slavish to G1. A lot of the CW and TR stuff so far is pretty much updated looks. It's looking a lot like what I'd expect out of a "redesign old stuff for today" sort of line.

I wish they did. Or at least high quality KOs of GPS toys in non GPS plastic.

I'd love a Torca in durable beige.
>>
>>5945076
Was heavily considering getting Retrax NIB for $30ish after remembering I use to own him, or still might do but have him packed far away. Not a fan of the Powerhug scheme though.
>>

>Do third parties typically make upgraded figures of literal whos from almost 20 years ago?

Yes, yes they do. But if they're not G1 literal who's, then you're shit outta luck. The market is there for G1 and not much else. 3P's tend to lean towards G1, CHUG-ish, their own style, or IDW.
>>
>>5945181
I'm still surprised they haven't jumped on a Tidal Wave V2. Even people who hated the entire Unicron trilogy, loved TW.

>>5945092
Summer next year since that's the pattern for Titan releases so far... unless they want to go for two and release him early next year.

>>5945086
I really hope they don't fuck him up since, unlike the others, he doesn't have as many guns or gimmicks that would need gutting due to the prize, plus the smaller arms help.
>>
>>5945190
A new Tidal Wave would be kick ass. I was out of the loop for the Unicron trilogy, but having seen the toy they had for it recently, it's solid. It's the Sixshot or Devastator of the Unicron figures.
>>
>>5945190

Well, we're probably getting a new TW in TR, and that'll probably spur on some 3P to release a "better" version of it.

"Better" as usual, being a byline for "Hope a good company makes it, and not shit like KFC".
>>
>>5945199
Highly likely that Tidal Wave will be a repaint of that leaked TR Broadside
>>
>>5945203
>>5945199
>>5945210
Main problem is that it's rumored that the new TW is part of a boxset, so if you don't want the rest, then you're screwed.
>>
>>5945213

Well, I already know I'm boned. All of the figures I want are spread between the two rumored box sets.
>>
>>5945227
I only wanted the clones, Star Convoy, and Tidal Wave, and those are the one's everyone else wants.

Man, why did they have to make the Star Convoy head an exclusive instead of using that one as the default?

At least in PR, I only saw him once. The first Legends wave of the year never showed up, and wave 2 was around briefly. At least we got Sky-Lynx.

And yeah, he was totally clogging shelves when I went to Florida a few months back.
>>
>>5945310
Michigan. I was lucky enough to find two Legends Skywarps and a Groove at K-Mart. Wal Mart is scalper paradise, and Toys R Us does not like me going there anymore. I'm not kicked out or anything, but they kind of have me under scrutiny.

I used my old TRU work badge to enter the store at night and use the store bathroom that's off limits to customers because I did not want to shit myself. Nothing malicious, but they took the badge off me and pretty sure they keep an eye on me when I go there from time to time. Only even had my badge on me because I never clean my car, and it was past closing time in the stores nearby so yeah. It was wrong, but beats a grown man shitting himself.
>>
>>5945324
Fair enough
I'm in Morgantown WV but becuase of family and work I tend to travel between Pittsburg PA to as south as Blacksburg VA and all those places are well stocked
Strangely the sweet part of TFs and toys in general is the ass of America also know as the OH/WV/KY Tristate. Every time I visit there I'm always impressed with how stock it is with toys and shit. However they have serious amount of stores, 7 Walmarts 2 TRUs 2 targets 3 Walgreens 7 gamestops 2 bestbuys and god knows what I'm missing in a 30 mile radius of the Huntington area. for an area that bottoms out in economy almost year it's amazing how many stores and shops they have
>>
>>5945364
Assuming your story is true you are basically avoid a store becuase you are a gaiagtic pussy?
>>
>>5945368
Huntingtonfag here. I have to agree. Sometimes the area has jack shit other than like a few rid one steps but places like the Wal-Mart up by the Huntington Mall have surprisingly up to date stock. I remember finding Arcee and Brainstorm there around Christmas 2014
>>
>>5945364
So what you pick a lock as well?
A badge won't get you in there by itself
Try better bait.
>>
>>5945369
Yes, I am the most gaigatic pussy who was technically trespassing in a closed store using an ID badge I was supposed to turn in when I quit my job. The fact they did not call the cops on me was nice enough of them, would rather not cause any more problems or get watched like a thief when I shop there.
>>
>>5945373
You guys were fucking stock with Brainstorm Chistmas of 2014 . You had Walmart's that had cases of him
Which was good because I decided to get another one since my wife stole mine and took him to her lab at work.
>>
>>5945376
But you don't get in with just a badge. Work on your fiction writing.
>>
>>5945375
You show your badge to a manager on duty after knocking on the fucking interior door or using the entrance bell. It's not a bank, it's not a millitary base - you just show your badge, say something like "Hey, I might have left something in the back, can I go check?", and they let you in. Clearly though, I must have entered the HVAC system, scaled the ducts, roped down stealthily from the AC vent near the bikes department, and proceeded to sneak up on, and choke out all employees who were between the bathroom and myself.
>>
>>5945376
See that's why I call bullshit or rather you have brains problems becuase if you had the balls to do as you say you would take issue still shopping there.
It makes no sense to be fear in being watch now when you just confessed you had no fear basically breaking and entering for a break
>>
>>5945384
You said it was closed though.
>>
>>5945384
Wow. I've try but you sunk you boat admitting what state you are in.
I won't tell you where you fuck up becuase you might just shitpost another story later with the edit improved on
>>
>>5945384
Now you don't make any sense at all.
You used your badge around people lying to get to the shitter but now under house nest pretenses you don't want to be seen by them?
>>
>>5945386
>>5945385
>>5945380
Night stock, night manager and unloading are there. Closed to the -public-. Store has two forms of ID, name badge and scanned timecard. I just said I needed to run to the back, that I had to use the bathroom, showed my badge and the manager let me in. Apparently they checked my name from the badge on the list of workers or something and it was not on there. It's not some sort of fictional heist or anything, just going into a store after hours to take a dump. I am sorry I even brought it up, just thought it would be an amusing anecdote.
>>
>>5945404
It's not amusing to make shit up for attention.

Sup /tfg/. How much would one of these guys (G1 Streetwise) go for like this. One has more sticker wear than the other as you can see. Hes also missing his hood. Have the Generations releases devalued these any? I also have 2 Wheelies missing the windshield. I guess that commonly pops off. Generations Wheelie seems better than the shitty G1 toy.
