What are your favorite Titan Master head-swaps? I saw a picture of Clobber with his yellow parts switched out for Crashbash's gray ones, and I gotta say, that makes Hardlock and little Grimhead here look absolutely based.

Any other good match-ups? I really wish Hasbro had made some more obvious partners. I love what the Takara releases did. I'm a sucker for a color-coordinated team.

The Mutants molds were just beast to beast. It's because they started life as Animorphs figures that got repurposed as BW toys who were essentially Fuzors that got screwed up in the formatting of beast modes and lost their robot modes.

Suffering.jpg
>>
>>5946344
well at the very least the one I got has a bunch of problems, most in his legs(first Transformer I've bought with loose enough joints that I might actually need to buy some Future to tighten them up), although there's a couple other bits that aren't too great, like his tail(especially how it doesn't stay on too well in beast mode), and his cockpit flap(rubber was a terrible idea), he's not the worst Transformer I've ever owned, but of the TR stuff I've gotten so far(Hardhead, Brawn, Clobber, Skullsmasher, Skytread, and Apeface) he's the worst in that category
>>
>>5946382
>Shadow Panther is out of my reach

MP Shadow Panther when?
>>
>>5946384
So basically all your complaints are related to QC issues then
>>
>>5946391
well the tail one is a legitimate design issue, the peg it attaches onto is too short, so even the slightest nudge up or down makes it pop off, and the hatch issue is less a QC issue and more a materials one
>>
>>5946384

To be fair, Skullcruncher's floppy legs are a well known QC issue that at least can be solved easily.
>>
>>5946384
The main niggling thing for me was the floppy ball joint on the waist and the extremely loose thigh swivel, all the other stuff is not too bad for me.
>>
>>5946396
Mine literally has none of that though. It pegs in securely. That's definitely a QC error.

And the hatch thing functions entirely fine on mine too. It may be soft plastic but it works and functions like it should.
>>
>>5946330
Yo these are sweet what am I looking at
>>
>>5946396
Never heard of anyone having that issue at all.
>>
>>5946427
Concepts for a line/show called Transformers Heroes. It was early development for what eventually became Animated, and that was one of the ways the show would have looked before Derrick J. Wyatt got on board.
>>
>>5946376
I have one. He's pretty good. Never had the original so I can't compare, but nothing wrong with the KO.
>>
>>5946399
true I have heard that Future works well there, anyone got a link to whatever is the correct version of that stuff, cause I might order some off Amazon(maybe get Mindwipe and Weirdwolf while I'm at it as well)

>>5946401
waist joint and arms are fine for me, but yeah the thigh swivels are just as loose as his hip joints are

>>5946435
notably elements of the Hero concept are part of why Animated has such a small main cast for the Autobots, why there's such an emphasis on the unique abilities each Transformer has(and also why no Autobot has a weapon that is purely a weapon besides Prowl), and why they focused so heavily on Human antagonists(and ramped up the power level differences between the Autobots and Decepticons on an individual basis)

I can't seem to find individual bottles of that for sale on Amazon, only six packs, and I'm not buying that much(especially for the price they're asking)
>>
>>5946446
then just buy a clear nail polish and use that
>>
>>5946448
Nah nail polish ruins plastic since it's acetone based. You're just making the plastic weak and brittle.
>>
>>5946477
>acetone based.
That's nail polish remover, not the polish itself.
>>
>>5946441
I have both.
KO is a good copy in general.
Some issues:
-some parts have exrtra plastic flash and sprues. This leads to some fitting problems
-daniel/spike on the KO have more loose joints
-minor paint mishaps

So, heres a question:

Starting from MP-10 onward, of the MP's that have both US and JPN releases, which regions release is the better one to own in terms of QC, for each character?
>>
>>5947100
Pretty much all of the hasbro releases are inferior in some way, from poorer paint applications, looser joints and mold changes to keep kids from gouging their eyes out on them.

The only thing Hasbro releases offer is a variety in decos, like prime having brighter colors or bumblebee having a much better shade of yellow.
>>
>>5947116
Pretty much this. Hasbro's MP releases are either equal or lesser quality, and with the insane price hike, you're better off going Takara, especially since anything release at TRU will just get hoarded and scalped by jobless neckbeards.
>>
>>5946288

>>5947118
the only TRU MP I really wanted was Bumblebee because of his color change, but he's motherfucking 119$

>>
>>5947189
I think it's a little more involved than that. The reverse engineering seems amazing in itself. They even copied the box. Some say they may have access to the files HasTak uses to design them. I'm also left wondering about those knockoff Human Alliance TF figures that seem to be floating around. They are supposedly so identical it would be difficult to tell they were knockoffs if the sellers didn't tell you. I hear the figures quality is even identical to the real ones and they even say Hasbro on the box. Could they be "extras" that were made on the side once production ceased?

Are they possibly made in the same factories and assembled by the same people/machines?

It's all very mysterious. China's ability to copy is amazing.
>>
>>5947204
Probably.
If it's made in China, they just straight up kept using the official molds and files after production and just make a shit ton of extra "knockoffs" to sell off later for cheaper.

They don't give a fuck in china
>>
I've always wondered. How would one go about getting a job in a TF factory. Are these things even assembled by humans? If they are, they clearly must know how to transform them just to be able to package them. Are some of them fans themselves? So many mysteries... People barely know how they are made an Hasbro doesn't tell much. I've even like to work at a factory making knockoffs.

Autobot twins from animated, Blitzwing as well had his cannons tie to fire and ice beams depending on his mode. Quite a few with pyrotechnical abilities or flamethrowers.

The Fallen of course is the king of self immolation. Marvel had a couple element themed characters. Earthquake springs to mind.

The list is rather short as most of those abilities were just weapons they carried instead of actual powers.

In the toys, there's Cybertron Cryo Scourge and a few other ice themed or camo repaints.

A few minutes with a silver sharpie and all your woes are gone.

His actual problem is they decided to paint the part of him that is the bottom of his feet in robot mode. They should've molded the feet in purple and painted on the grey so he wasn't standing on his paint job. Mine already has a scratch on it, and I'm sure in a few years most Astro's feet are gonna look like ass.

Neat. Japan's packaging is better than ours.

>>
>>5947473

I like their box set packaging.

And damn I'm jealous. I want a Tak Blurr/Scourge/Computron without my wallet getting sodomized.

Why do places charge $like $150 for Combiner Wars 5 pack giftsets? I did the math and they should only cost $89.95. That is at 14.99 for each Deluxe, 19.99 for the Voyager and 9.99 for the Legends class figure.

I see a set for $91.99 without the box but that still seems like too much.

>>
>>5947434
Don't buy it. Knock-off Brutici and Ruinations are invariably awful. The ball-joints in Ro-tor and Movor will break off every time you try to move them, and breakages on the other figures are almost as common. The other G1 combiner kos are usually playable with care, but no such luck with the Combaticons.
>>
>>5947507
I think you just have a case of local sellers vastly overestimating the value of something
>>

It's also possible that they've cut production costs. Thew's presumably recent one was much worse than mine from 8 yesrs ago, which is worse than yours from 10 years ago. My other combiner kos are from around the same time, and they're ok with all the G1 joints, but Defensors you buy today are cost-cutted with joints fused in place and shit like that.

Basically this; he's back to basics, which is something TF fans have wanted but have never really gotten. On such a tiny, simple figure with three modes, one of them is bound to be pathetic. Given that you get a great T-rex and a decent dragon out of it, you're coming out ahead of the game.

When I make him into a gun, however, I tend to point the feet backwards instead of forward, so it's only got the single, square barrel at the front. Still doesn't look great, but it looks less like a cannon with vestigial bird feed on the side.

First time I've seen that place sell CHUG stuff in years.

somehow I managed to take a knife to the glue so the handlebar articulates within the glue sheath, but I'm super careful when I transform him
>>
>>5948332

I wouldn't have minded that.
>>
>>5947966
Looks like this design was retooled into generations whirl, based on the transformation scheme

gott that design would have been perfect if there was some way to fold away his rotor blades in robot and gerwalk mode instead of having it swing around like a limp noodle
>>
>>5948595
Fuck. And I thought I was done wasting gas going retail hunting. Although with this not being a Generations release, does that mean I'll actually be able to find it?

Interesting story on this. They were going to reprint G1 Megatron for G2 in different colors so it could be more kid friendly.

there's next to no chance to get one of these prototypes

I think that was actually from the 2000's reissue series in America, wasn't it? It was gonna be "Lava Bath Megatron"
>>
Yo how do you open Fortress Maximus' legs?
>>
>>5948691

Doesn't matter, it would look like ass in city mode anyways.

I doubt it; Energon Bulkhead was from 2004, and the stylized version was just a sketch. They might've taken influence from it, though.

Ok, so I know many people weren't exactly happy with how FM was released? How would you have released it to meet fan expectations? Would you have made the gun/sword preorder bonuses?
>>
>>5948691
Is it true Takara glued the legs together on their Fort Max?
>>
>>5948699
That's what I'm thinking now that you've said it, since he's the one I got.

Not being a shitty Metroplex remold that looks like complete garbage in alt mode, for starters.
>>
>>5948697
Aside from more alterations so he doesn't end up looking too much like Metroplex (new arms, and a better transformation, for starters). I would have included the Master Sword, and done the following:

-Add a handle to the tumor on the side of his leg, plus it can open up for a Headmaster to ride in.
-Released a deluxe cog that's a Headmasters, and can transform into a gun.
>>5948691
They open up normally. Just get a nail between the feet crevice, and it should open up

>>5948702
Or maybe not.

>Would you have made the gun/sword preorder bonuses?
fuck off with that shit.

With no changes to the mold as it is I'd include the gun and the sword in all versions.
If I needed to cut costs to make it happen I'd strip the speaker gimmick on Cerebros instead of FortMax's weapons.

Alternatively, I would be "fine" without having the gun and the sword if the mold were a heavier retool that actually had competent alt modes, but the gun and the sword would need to be sold separately and more available than not at all.

I believe this is Titanium War Within BumbleBee
>>
Another question, is there any storage space for the sword?
>>
>>5948697
-New arms
-Extra boxset that includes the gun, sword, Cog, and alternate head for Cerebros that looks like Fortress.

Last question: can the gun thing on his leg connect anywhere else? it has two tabs that look like they connect to something,
>>
>>5948792
It's left over from when it was a part of Metroplex.
>>
>>5948805
He had that? Where did it connect on him?
>>
>>5948807
It's the gun on the side of his head, the one you flip so a legends figure can sit there.

bodyblock and downshift were just repaints, so scrapping those wouldn't have broken my heart BUT since Hasbro/Takara had already sunk money into making Rumble, Frenzy, and Windcharger why not release those 3 as a wave?
