Damn, I remember getting my dad to buy me one of these at the mall in an office supplies place before it closed down.
We would always walk by the store and I was curious of what was inside, since it wasn't a toy store.
I would sort of half suggest to my dad we go in, but every time he would say in his broken english "that stores not for kids, its for adults with business"
Finally, one day I got the courage to directly tell my dad I wanted to go inside to look around.
He took me in and he was right, it was just office supplies. Eventually I saw those pens and they looked fun.
I remember it costing something stupid like $8 but I still begged for it.
He reluctantly bought me them and I was really satisfied just that I was able to go in the store.
I got home and it worked like shit, never touched it again.
That's one of my oldest memories.

i saw one of these at a bookstore in the science stuff department and the models only had like 6 big pieces.
they really dumbed it down for kids today.
>>5934009
I remember the brain goo being pretty good, actually.
>>5933992
between the !dangerous hazard! protections and general dumbing down, children's science and educational toys are a shadow of what they used to be
otoh the electronic r/c gizmo stuff is obviously infinitely superior nowadays
