My local TRU had multiples of the last wave so I just grabbed the Albino with the best paint.

My only complaints are the shitty knees as usual and the paint not being as glossy as I thought it'd be but the figure still looks great and the tongue adds a lot to it.

I know I'm late, but Tyrael is actually pretty nice, he's probably the first non-pacific rim figure from neca I've actually liked. He's got brick tier articulation, but everything else is great. I particularly like the rubber they used for his little chest sash, it bends very well and doesn't break anything up visually. The wings manage to be fucking adorable too.

Also, I had no idea the hots stuff wasn't their usual scale, he's not out of place with 6" stuff.

All right! So my Ultimate ED2 Ash came in from TRU, and I have to say...

He's pretty good.

This is basically the Ultimate T2 Arnie for me, again, in that I already have everything here, I just bought it for the new legs. So for me? This isn't a very exciting release. It's still a good, VERY good release, but it doesn't hold as much value for me. I'm happy to have bought it though, because the improvements are welcomed, and I want to support the line so the Ult. Hero Ash comes out too (I'm hoping that one has the alternate grey stripe head that was on an SDCC exclusive).

The paint is super clean. The shirt is painted muckier/darker/sweatier than the first releases, and haven't decided how I feel about that, yet. It's appropriate, but I would've liked more hints of the lighter blue. Not a huge issue though.

The torso seems to be entirely new. It was a rubber overlay on the original figures, so you'd get a kind of "peek" at the skin underneath where the shirt tucks in. But on this figure the shirt sculpt continues on into the waist, no more flesh. What that means is they removed the chest joint the originals had...I think...it doesn't move on mine, so I think it's gone.

To me, that's no big loss, cause it only provided minimal movement anyway. Also everything swaps out really easily without much hassle. Always good.

But again, as someone who owns everything this comes with? Kind of a middling gain. For others that don't have this Ash at all? It's a damn fantastic deal. Outside of some paint variance (I kinda miss the 'sweaty' look the originals had), you're getting a better toy.

It does look badass, i'm more of an Aliens kind of guy myself, but wanted something from a different movie for a change, was really surprised by how cool the figure looks in person.
Articulation is good in imo, no double joints, but you can get pretty much all the poses he does in the movie, it takes some fiddling he can also hold all the weapons pretty well, one curious thing is that he has more articulation on the left leg for some reason, the right one has the standard knee and ankle articulation, the left one has the same plus thigh and shin cut swivel.

Looking at the way they are seated on his armor, I'd guess that they aren't connected to his scalp or head at all. If anything, I bet they're connected at the neck right below where the head is connected and hidden by the ponytail. This would allow the head "full" movement while not making it look like his hair isn't attached to his head.

And regarding the articulation, I'm pretty sure they said that the figures are basically made directly from the game models.

For a deluxe StarCraft, I know most use her Maelstrom, but I'd love a deluxe kerrigan with large posable wings and an articulated ultralisk. Might be too much to ask for but that'd be a great set. I wish they added just a little more pixel details in the lighter shade of pink.
The sprite has at least 4 different shades of pink, but neca just put one hard contrasting pink stripe. In the sprite is just sorta eases into the light, so it's kinda like a gradient, with not much contrast.

I get what they're doing, it's cool, but it would just look so much cooler if they sorta treated that lighter pink how they treated the colors on their NES batman
