What's the best figure of Getter Robo 1 or just Getter Robos in general?

I'm thinking about picking up a Getter Robo 1 and maybe also a Getter Dragon if there's a good one of those too.
>>
Getter 1? T-Rex x Sentinel

Getter Dragon? Soul of Chogokin.

Shin Getter? Aoshima.
>>
>>5921307
Thanks for the recommendations, i'll check them out.

>Shin Getter? Aoshima.
I hadn't heard of Aoshima before, what style/size figures do they do?

They did a lot of stuff around the OVA era, so Getter 1, Shin, Neo and New.

Personally, I think their other molds look a bit aged, but Shin is still really incredible for being 10 years old at this point.

I still think it looks better than the SRC, even if the articulation suffers a bit. It also weighs about a solid pound.
>>
>>5921317
I can see what you mean, the translucent detail on the shins and chest is gorgeous, but personally i like figures with a bit more focus on articulation (but not Revoltechs).

How about Black Getter? I think i remember seeing a Sentinel version of that in the works, was that released?
>>
>>5921317
Whoa. I've never heard of that left one. Something with the best features of both would be great.
>>
As a quick run down...

For the Super Robot Chogokin line, bandai has Getter 1, Black Getter and Shin Getter. They're both a bit smaller and fairly light over all, but they're also the cheapest ones you're going to find and probably the most poseable. There's also a nice expansions set for the Shin that gives it Stoner Sunshine effect parts.

For Soul of Chogokin, they've made Getter 1 and Getter Dragon. They're both really solid and nice figures. They have pretty decent articulation and a lot of weight too. The one thing I really don't like about them is the lack of clear panels on the chest, but that's pretty minor. They also come with nice display stands!

Sentinel has so far made Getter 1 and Black Getter. They're the most modern toys are are extremely well detailed. They don't cost much more than the SOC version, but have a lot more detail. They're a bit more stylized, but if you dig the style then you'll like this one a lot.

Aoshima has made Getter 1, Neo Getter, Shin Getter and New Getter. These are all much older, but also made almost completely made of Diecast. They're a bit hit and miss on the sculpts, but if you like them then they're really well made. They're also just about the only way to get New Getter.

Evolution Toy has made a few Getters, but they're pretty pricey and mostly made of plastic.

Personally, I have the Aoshima Shin, SOC Dragon and the T-Rex Getter 1. They size up pretty good next to each other.
>>
>>5921332
Cheers, anon.

It's from the 4-Inch-Nel line by Sentinel, made to pose next to the Getters they made. He just came out last week so you should be able to find him in the usual places.

I threw together a quick checklist of all of the main-line Getter Robos across different lines.

It doesn't include the Dino Getters, Fewture redesigns or some of the Original Manga versions of Getter 1 and Dragon, but hopefully it'll help someone out. I've seen this question asked before, so it'll probably get asked again eventually.

Fucking nice, that axe is amazing.

How's that Getter Dragon? Do you think it's worth picking up these days or would it be better to wait and hope that Sentinel eventually does a version of it?
>>
>>5925048
One of the nice things about SoC Dragon is that he's almost completely diecast, which feels pretty good. Also unlike SoC Getter 1, Dragon has a much sharper sculpt. In the OVA Getter 1 changed how chunky he looked between different scenes, but Dragon stayed lean and mean pretty consistently. Bandai nailed what Dragon should look like, so even if Sentinel does a version of it I'm not going to be in too big of a rush to replace it. It's a lot like the Aoshima Shin Getter. That figure this nearly 15 years old by this point, but the sculpt is still the best there is. Engineering might improve over the years, but if something really looks good, it's always going to look good.

(Also just as a quick aside, the one real let down with SoC dragon is that the windows on his chest are just painted on instead of clear plastic like the other two Getters, but luckily his crossed arms cover that up.)

For some retarded reason they thought it was a good idea to make his heavy as fuck backpack attach via an inch long post. It doesn't really help posability at all, so I can't figure out why they did this. He's a bit back heavy, but his magnets are strong enough to keep him standing.

Handsome bot.

He's certainly the best looking version of Neo Getter out there and since no one gives a shit about Shin VS Neo I'm willing to bet it's going to be a long time before anyone else bothers to make a figure of him.

As a toy his he's kind of a let down, but as a pre-painted posable garage kit, he's not so bad! That said, he's probably only worth it if you REALLY like Neo.

...now hopefully someone will make a Go that doesn't look like ass.

>>5930569
Nope, no one has had the balls to take a swing at making a figure of Emperor yet. BU Toys is working on the first Shin Dragon figure we've ever gotten and even that thing has been delayed for nearly a year. Since they're making two fairly obscure Getters, they'll probably be the best chance we ever have at getting one.

Damn does the Aoshima Shin Gettter 1 look good. And it's going for 5000 yen on manda, that's a really good price for a gokin action figure, those tend to skyrocket in price.

I'm guessing with age the joints get worn out and loose with al that weight tho, some listings confirm this. How bad can it get? Is it fixable with clear top coat?

>>5934888
The one in this post is not the Aoshima btw, it's a Kaiyodo articulated gashapon. They're awesome too, like miniature Revoltechs
>>
>>5934888
Actually, pretty much every single joint has a heavy ratchet, so you don't need to worry about them getting weaker over time. The only one that does have a slight problem is the hips. They're just a pair of rods sandwiched between diecast, so opening him up and stuffing some paper in there too make it a tighter fit will do wonders.

Also, most people who reviewed the figure didn't seem to realize it but there actually is a neck rotation. It'll likely be seized by paint when you get it, but with some heat and gentle twisting you can make it work again. It makes a huge difference in posing him, so it's really worth the effort.

The only problem with the Aoshima version is that there's so goddamn many variants that all come with different accessories, different wings and sometimes the difference isn't all that notable (The detailing is cyan in one and green in another).

And to this day no one has made a comprehensive list of all the different variants.
