News:
>Frame Arms Girl HRESVELGR is up for Preorder. Baselard and Gigantic Arms are up. The decals you get in the full set are pretty nice.
>Second wave of Desktop Army, Chrom, up for preorder
>Second wave of Megami Device up for preorder but usual suspects are all out for now.
>the Shinki kits are kind of in limbo with no official release dates, but they're still showing off the prototypes

Where to buy second hand Shinkis:
>eBay, Amazon - generally overpriced, but you might get lucky.
>Mandarake, Rakuten - search 武装神姫 and don't trust listing images.
>Yahoo Japan Auctions, Suruga-ya - you'll need a proxy if you’re not in Japan.
>Taobao - some shops ship international now, so you might not need a proxy.
>Amiami, Jungle-scs - occasionally get some preowned.
>Check the BST threads, My Figure Collection, and Busou Shinki World too.

So Baselard is starting to ship out? Nice, I preordered her so I look forward to her arrival.

>the Shinki kits are kind of in limbo with no official release dates...

Bruh, it's time to face the music. It's never a good thing when there's this much silence. They're probably having isues with Konami holding the licenses and only wanting to make pochinko.
>>
>>5917993
I gave up the ghost on the shinki line about three years ago, i was never hype about this whole kit deal, it wasnt real, sturdy shinkis anyway.
>>
>>5917985
I got my invoice for her from HLJ sometime yesterday.
>>
>>5918052
Meanwhile, three more months for mine. Whoo.
>>
Is Stylet any good? My LCS has a bunch for $15/each, and I just need a kit to build.
>>
>>5918082
Frame Arms Girl or just Frame Arms?

If latter, you might have better luck asking on the gunpla thread.
>>
>>5918082

She needs the most detail work out of all the FAGs, assuming that's the stylet you mean.

All the White markings and the black on her shoulder wings will need to be painted on, more or less.
>>
>>5918084
FAG.
>>5918085
Yeah, based on my memory and referencing My Figure Collection, it's a mostly blue Stylet kit. I'm no pro and I've never painted a kit, but for $15 it looked like a good way to pass a few evenings.
>>
>>5918085
>She needs the most detail work out of all the FAGs
I wish I'd been told that BEFORE I got mine. Guess I'll have to call it a learning experience and pray I don't fuck up too badly.
>>
>>5917993

>been getting most of the FAG releases, and machineca body based Megami Device
>even have a set of mini-Maochao Desktop Army
>actual Shinki kits to give your money to still nowhere

At this point, I'm not sure if I'd hope for a Mk-2 Arnval/Strarf kit down the line.
>>
>>5917985
>my baselard won't ship until all my September pre-orders are out
fug, then again she'll be sitting unbuilt for a while regardless so the waits don't matter much
>>
>>5918267
All of the waits matter!
The wait for concept art!
The wait for preorders to open!
The wait for the actual release date!
Especially the wait for your order to arrive!
The wait to put things together!
They're all an important part of the plamo experience! Someone please end me, this waiting is misery.

Nice. The drills she comes with are really cool. I want that motor set for them.

are they the same as the heavy weapon unit that is sold separately?

She comes with this drill instead of the freestyle bazooka

Both drill and bazooka are also sold separately.

Aside from having a spare gourai, purple eyes are alluring.
>>
>>5918330
I want one but the ebay prices are but much.
>>
>>5918401

hiq parts sells lots of eyes. and I liked the bazooka that the gourai originally came with because it appears to mount to her shoulder.

I also have the drill for reasons. I think it looks cool to replace an arm on a frame arms with one of those.
>>
>>5918401
I'm still angry the drill set came with no rotor.

Not my favorite thing ever. They tend to add clutter while searching and having them on a list somewhere means I'm actually more likely to be reminded that I found a way to do that thing I wanted to do than a simple star next to a page name. Normally I prefer to use them for home pages and leave it at that.

He trying to make her look like those experimental bio weapons that will be released from the tube when the time has come
>>
>>5919456

Oh yeah? What's your favorite part? The solid inch of extra abdominal length or the ugly shoulder-broadening shoulder joints that not only look entirely out of place but also do nothing to enhance articulation? Maybe the casserole of nonsense that used to be a pelvis, or the entire extra torso width of tit that was hastily tacked on with globs of sculpey instead of incorporated with the original chestpiece?

I mean, it wouldn't possibly be the fact that the lower thighs are a solid centimeter wider at the point of connection than the upper thighs. Or the extra set of legs that look like someone put football shin guards on some cheap peg legs.

Or maybe you're just a fan of really, really thick paint?
>>
>>5919482
You seem upset. It's just someone's custom. Who cares? There are plenty worse abominations. You typed out a solid paragraph that can be summed up with "I think that looks dumb".

And especially the decals on her legs with the screw bits and the platings to the side of the leg. The knee joints in depth have that mechanical feel too. Those are actually good looking.

>>
>>5920211
You don't need it. What you'd want, if you're going to use any adhesives, is plastic cement in order to weld joins as per the gunpla guide linked in the OP. Go read it.
>>
>>5920250
Is glue a necessity? Been thinking about buying a few FAGs.
>>
>>5920279
I think my post should have implied you don't need adhesives. It's only necessary for seam welds which I don't think you'd be able to pull off because you don't seem to have even the mental capacity to do your own research. Even when the link to everything you need is in the OP.
>>
>>5920279
I don't understand. The information in the OP of so many general threads is golden, why does no one ever take the time to read them or try to comprehend what they read? I'm legitimately baffled.

My usual blades are these long point excel #11 blades. They're "alright", but they really suck for scoring and cutting plaplates/chopping. Passable for shaving/lapping down surfaces and nubs.

Not sure if the curved scalpel blade is gonna be a quality-of-life improvement, because I've snapped a lot of #11 blade tips and gotten them worn out very quickly.

Those are pretty awesome for hard to reach spots, but my main complaint is them being so long they don't have a great leverage. While these other blades seems to have the perfect inclination and leverage along with sharpness. Sorry, not sure if I can explain my point any better.

Saddly enough my fav blades seems really hard to come by around here, and when I do find, they usualy are pricey.

No, it isn't. Not even close. For one, /gpg/ doesn't have some douchebag posting godawful homemade comic strips. Plus, nobody over there dresses their plamo in tiny sweaters and shamelessly poses them in public.

It's not necessary, but helps in a couple of spots (like Materia's toes and to glue to the ball a little further up in the joint torso to prevent her from separating)

But really, that gunpla guide helped so much when building mine. Don't be a pussy and read it, because it answers 99% of questions people ask. It even shows what each symbol means in the instructions you will see for the kit. You don't have to know moon runes to do it.

Not quite so delicate they'll shatter when you try to use them, but a drop or jamming it into something would do it.
>>
>>5922286
I guess it kinda depends on the plastic.
I broke 2 of them, one was when I was making Bandai's vf-25. I cut a clear green piece out and it took out part of the blade, and when I cut the canopy part, the tip broke off.
Second one broke from a drop.
I ordered a 3rd one but now I'm gonna be more careful not to cut hard stuff or drop it.

FAG has nothing. It's mechamusume versions of Frame Arms, which itself only has very sparse material in the form of a short manga and some promotional shorts. And those were just made to push the pre-existing original design models.

It has more to do with the fact that you're offering a solution much more complex than it needs to be. 3D printers are much more expensive, rare, and harder to use for a 1;1 reproduction than spending 40 bucks on Amazon getting some smooth-on Ooomoo and resin. You're giving bad information. It's like someone breaks a materia wrist joint and your solution is to 3d print a new joint and hand. instead of using a pin vise and glue to fix the old.

The big thing with amiami is they consistently update stock at the same time every day and show you what's new every single day. HLJ and HS are both very inconsistent with times, and HS is annoying since everything is compartmentalized, so you have to click through like 6 windows to see everything new while HLJ only shows a few things on their front page.

Plus, they have a cute mascot, which is something that weebs eat up.

still doesn't really justify falling all over oneself trying to justify say, limiting purchases of the megami device stuff to one per customer, given that it's a line where koto's clearly expecting people to buy two of any given kit.
>"but if someone buys two, someone else might not get one!"
>"b-b-but hobbysearch is a smaller store!"

the latter really ground my gears; if they're smaller wouldn't they need to be more shrewd about that shit to make ends meet? but then again, I remember knowing about hobbysearch (by URL, at least) loooong before I'd ever heard of amiami, so...

it's just really weird. it's like stockholme syndrome or something.
>>
>>5924518
Wait, summer is about over, that must be referring to to the HLJ exclusive Baselard. At any rate, so long as I can at least use a forwarder I won't complain TOO hard, but a retail release at the usual suspects is always preferred.
>>
>>5924570
Speaking of which. What's a good forwarding/proxy site? Yes I'm this new to /toy/.
>>
>>5924584
Well, forwarding and proxying are two different things, first off. Proxies buy everything and ship everything to you so you're little more involved in the process than giving a description and saying "I want that" or giving them a page link. Forwarders receive things you buy yourself, essentially functioning as a Japanese address for you, then they [repackage and] send things to you. I don't mess with proxies, but for forwarders 2you4 is currently pretty highly recommended. You may want to check out /a/'s buyfag thread guide for more.

No, in the top article it calls the new materia a "short twintails kemomimi version" and mentions "Hobby Japan Extra 2016 Summer". Googling that is seems the magazine has already released so assume these pics are from said magazine and it is self referencing.

The info box at the bottom doesn't have a price and I can't read anything that says "exclusive" or such so I guess we have to wait for more info to come in.

I'm looking for the most 'fits all' size, but would prefer a finer point given the option (e.g I would choose 0.3mm > 0.5mm).

Are there any other accessories I need? I already have clippers and sandpaper.
>>
I ordered on the last day of the sale period, and I got my shipping confirmation a few hours ago.

I think most people should have theirs soon.
>>

Personally, I would always recommend getting the finest marker available, even if it sounds TOO small.

I use Copic Multiliners, black in 0.03 and gray and brown in 0.05. A gray marker is a must-have, I would argue it's even more important than black.

I'm reading from what I can see of the article in that image that they SHOWCASED the illustration and concept at hobby japan summer 2016, not that it was an exclusive then. Plus, if it were an exclusive then, we would have seen it out already, wouldn't we have?
>>
>>5925358
...but they still do, because this shit sells out in ~5min anyway.

and it's not even so much the fact of a limit as much "limit 1" on something where you're effectively intended to buy two. ISTR hobbysearch was "limit 2" on the megami device stuff, so... why can't a "bigger" store do it? if they're bigger and they have more customers and business they should be able to order more, and so on.

Now I can't decide between the two.

Pls send help

Of course you buy both

Guys I think I'm in love.
>>
>>5926487

Wow, that... absolutely does not appeal to me at all.
>>
>>5926530
Fags are mecha musume adaptations of the frame arm kits. Kind of like plane leg girls and boat bitches. It's all about making cute girls wear robot parts
>>
>>5926644
Wow, you.........absolutely have bad taste.......

Aoshima put out a prototype of their Valk girl. Was a bit worried since they didn't have photos of her at WF.

Looks like a new publisher picked up the Desktop Army novel after the original publisher went out of business. New release date in November.
>>
>>5926644
Yeah, same. I think it's the first FAG I outrright didn't like.
>>
>>5926407
>Also, looks like there will be a bike for FA:Gs too

It's a M.S.G. (Modeling Support Good).

Basically its a bike for anything roughly the size of FAGs and Frame Arms and if it's like the other MSG stuff it is probably modular.

What FA she based off? She looks like Metal Gear REX right now.

But hotter

It'd be a nice custom project, it worked for 00 Gundam.
And the Metal Gear REX kit even shares the same manufacturer so.. I guess some parts might even fit without too much modding
>>
>>5927105
That feel when I both want Innocentia herself and a couple more for spare parts, but it's gonna be tough taking off parts from the extras instead of making more robot catgirls...

Either way, gonna be a great older (or technically younger?) sister for Amlita.

New Gigantic Arms entry to be completely accurate.

Armor in default Gourai color looks kinda off, but barring that it's quite amazing.

A Frame Arm that doesn't use Architect frame? Impressive.

Hopefully a new line of designs.

>>5927101
At this point, I'd expect a Frame Arms Girls For Modelers Edition in the future with an improved Gourai kit with all the runners from Architect, Jinrai, Materia and Innocentia.
>>
>>5929069
Nah, I'm pretty sure the frame's still in there somewhere.

They've always done some weird shit with the frame throughout the line in any case. I think Kobold had it with reverse legs and using only the torso and legs even.
