Compared to other godawful 80s toons though it holds up okay. I don't know if you've ever tried to rewatch old episodes of disney afternoon toons or Thundercats but you'd swear you must've been retarded as a kid.

No Transfag, G1 Transformers was not better than Ducktales, Talespin, or Darkwing Duck. Just for the animation quality alone, it blows the 80's Sunbow cartoons out the water. Funny you mention thundercats, because that was also a much better cartoon than Sunbow's stuff. Dat proto-Ghibli animation.
