And in the case of Super Mechagodzilla here there's actually a few minor improvements over the original version.

And let's be honest with ourselves, while Showa-era Godzilla villains has been neglected, all of the important Heisei and Millenium stuff has been made at this point.

I know its that too, but I still wish SHMA figures were sturdy like NECA ones. With all the hollow pieces its like an articulated skeleton with a godzilla shell around it. I don't like it, they dont feel good to handle like the NECA figures do. NECA ones I can pick up and move/pose around without worry, and have a good weight to them. With the SHMA it's just constantly being cautious not to pop anything out. It's not fun.
If only the NECA figures had sculpts and paint jobs as amazing as the SHMA line. Theyre great for the price point they are for sure, but I would definitely pay extra for a SHMA sculpt with the NECA sturdiness.

I don't know about NECA since I've never handled one before, but I never really found SHMAs to be too 'hollow' or anything at all. Aside from maybe 1964, but he has bigger problems than that.

That, and I'd rather not have weight just for the sake of weight because it jacks up shipping costs.

I do hate the quality control of these figures though, as well as fragility of some. I don't mind loose joints as much because it's easy to fix (just a little disappointing), but guys like Spacegoji just gives me a headache...

I mean, theyre better in terms of sturdiness, and the 1954 one has more movie accurate proportions. Thats all it does better though. And as someone pointed out their 2014 one is more accurate since bandai sorta stylized the 2014 one, but other than that, every time the SHMA has better detail, paint, articulation. All their Godzillas have too soft of a sculpt, and some of them have glossy paint that makes them look cheaper.

Their shin is looking like itt'l be cool so far, but the tail's too short (Like all NECA godzillas) and the neck seems a bit too short. something about it seems off in general, it really doesnt have that bowling pin feel to it like the movie one does.

I mean dont get me wrong I love the NECA figures. They feel great to hold. I collect all of their Godzillas, and a bunch of their other lines. But to just blindly say their Godzillas are better than SHMA without giving an actual argument is dumb. But you're most likely trying to stir up shit in a kaiju thread for kicks.

Thinking about grabbing the upcoming MechaGodzilla.

The only SHMA I own is the original '94 Godzilla release (I collect other Kaiju stuff like Bandai vinyls, Bear Model, X-Plus, Banpresto etc. instead) and I don't even really like it, but considering how impossible it'll be to ever fully obtain this line with the Garuda accessory situation seems like a no brainer.
Also seems like a direct replacement to the first (rather than the Destoroyahs having different color, and Rebirth Godzilla with a different beam)

The Memorial Box King-Goji is really good, I'd say it's one of the best molds by Bandai's vinyl line. (and one of the most sought after figures from the set, I saw some guy pay $100 for it at GFest after the dealer wouldn't work something out)

There's also the Medicom King-Goji that uses a soft vinyl body for posing, and both the tail + head are wire framed for movement. It comes with a Combat Joe to stuff inside the "suit" too.

If you're talking about super artiulation then I dunno what to tell you, a lot of Kaiju don't have super articulation.

I already bought it ($25 seemed like a pretty good value considering the price of a NECA Pred), but in playing with it I couldn't tell exactly what is supposed to move and what isn't, specifically if there's swivels above or below the elbows and knees. One review said yes, some didn't mention it, but those also missed what I thought were some obvious POA. Also trying to figure out if he's only got the armpit joint on one side or if it's just sunk in real deep

I have like ~20 NECA Preds already. I'm really digging the SHMA so far, just trying to get the most out of it.

In Legendary's Godzilla 2014 sequel, do you think Godzilla will look different like how his appearance would change in all the original toho movies, and so they can sell more toys of him like how they change superhero's costumes for that purpose?
Or will he look the same, to keep in line with the grounded more realistic universe? Since it wouldn't really make much sense for his appearance to change story wise. In Godzillas case itd be like changing a characters actor which isnt usually a popular choice.

Theres a movie theater in Yonkers New York they usually do screening parties at, called The Alamo, where NECA will also reveal figures, like their Ultimate Nightmare on Elm St Freddy was shown off at a NOES anniversary screening there.
Randy has said on separate occasions they were going to reveal a Godzilla related surprise/treat (I forget what word he used), and we're going to see their painted Shin Godzilla on the 12th. Not sure if the surprise/treat he's talking about IS the paint job on Shin but hopefully it's the fact that itt'l come with Godzilla's other forms.

But anyway, The Alamo posted online that NECA was going to come to their Shin Godzilla Screening and do prizes/give aways. And since one of their screenings will be on October 12th, I assume that's where they're going to show it off.

I only live an hour away from the theater, so I was debating on going but everyone I know is either at work that day, or at school till night and I don't think anyone will want to drive that far for a movie that is playing 5-10 minutes from my house.
