FYI, this "treatment" fucks your toys up worse than they were within a few months, even if you store them in a dark closet. It turns the Grey Poupon color almost-white for a while, then it goes full-French's.

I read somewhere that it's better to suspend them above the solution so they're affected by the vapor rather than the solution directly.
Also I think you can get like some kind of a spray that's supposed to prevent them from discoloring again, but all of this is purely conjectural.

In situations like this, I find the best method is to gently rub at the stains with a Mr.Clean magic eraser. It did wonders for my Scourge.
