Not that surprising, considering the lack of articulation on the Nick figures.

Also, thanks Anon who gave me the tip about Walgreens and Echo Series, got two more Grey Marines, two more Crimson Elite Rangers, two more Jackals, and an Active Camo Arbiter.

Codes were some I'd never seen before though:
Series 46
Green Oceanic - A07046ES

Series 56
Orange Mk. V - A03056ES
Grey Marine - A04056ES
Crimson Elite Ranger - A06056ES
Purple Scout - A09056ES
Gold Jackal - A10056ES
Active Camo Arbiter - A11056ES
Smoke Pilot (With Green Oceanic) - A12056ES
>>
>>5912599
That was actually me who suggested that. Glad you found some good stuff. I found a couple more Echo bags myself. Got the purple armor guy who I had been looking for, and another one of the orange guys.
>>
>>5912639
Yeah, hopefully I'll get around to taking pics later, but you should definately check and record the codes, then see if spartanbloks.com's forum thread doesn't have them.

Also going to hopefully do that myself, since they're usually the place I go to get the codes in the first place.

I've often wondered why we don't just drop the charade and title these threads "Mega Bloks General." Maybe make the switchover next thread? Then, if anybody wants to make a /pbbg/ to talk about building block brands other than MB or Lego, I say they can have at it.
>>
Picked up this set today.
Visually, it's great. As a build, it's complete trash. I really wanted to like this set and was eager to get it. Way too delicate which makes it a hassle to pose, those stiff pin/sockets and clips really are the source of this issue. I feel like a ball and socket system would've worked way better and allowed for an overall greater range of movement. This isn't so much a toy as it is something to get in a good pose then never touch again.
Mega Bloks figures are fantastic, but save for most terrain builds or your run of the mill tank/wheeled vehicle the quality of the sets themselves are often mediocre.

If it wasn't for the figures being as good as they are I probably wouldn't buy any more sets, just going to cherry pick from here on out.

I finally got the Fallen Walker, which was the last Destiny set I needed. I like it a lot, but I feel like the $70 price tag is a bit steep. Though, I did get the set for $10 off because I had some TRU bux that were about to expire and needed to use up.

I'm sure part of that is due to the light brick, and some of the other unique stuff. Having the Fallen Captain with the shrapnel launcher is nice, though, since the others just came with swords. Also nice to have the Galljerhorn and the hunter mini is pretty neat, though its kind of hard to get too excited by yet another hunter, since we've got so damn many already in other sets.

Now, I've gotten all the Destiny related MB stuff so far, aside from the trans orange Titan (which I have coming in the mail. Should be here soon.)

Really looking forward to some new stuff. When is NYCC? Hoping we hear about more stuff there.

May I ask where you get these? They seem to come at extremely low prices on Aliexpress (though with extremely long shipping times).

Is that where you get yours? I've been thinking about getting some of these lots of popular characters (pic related) like TMNT, Spidey, Superman, Batman, Thor, etc. Just wondering if there's something I'm missing: It seems too good to be true.

>>5919138
Sure thing. If you've never used Aliexpress before, how it works is they keep your payment in escrow until you get your order, seems to encourage sellers to do their utmost in making sure you get your stuff and are satisfied, as well as leave a good rating. The slow shipping can't be helped really, it's just the way things work in China. Most places offer really cheap or free shipping on their wares because the gov subsidizes the shit out of it, the postal system itself though is slower than USPS or Canada Post even and the tracking can be frustrating. However they really want to sell you stuff and be satisfied and the prices are so cheap it's worth it in the end for increasingly better quality bootleg legos.

I was at TRU for that sale the other day, yeah it's nice and all but the sale applies to everything except the one set I actually wanted at the time, the Humvee. I hadn't noticed the tiny print exception in the flyer and the shelf display had a big sign saying 25% off all CoD right in front of the Humvees, was not pleased when I had to find out at the till it was excluded.
>>
>>5925756
Hoping they tackle Vanilla and TTK first. Would hate it if we don' t get the other raid bosses. And Skolas. I'd kill for Skolas.

That said I'd love a Saladin figure.
>>
>>5925761
If the sign had no small print then it is actually illegal for them to deny the discount anon.
>>
>>5925767

Well, that's why I said eventually. The walker they did already was neat, so somewhere down the line I'd like to see other versions of it.

But yeah, other Vanilla/TTK stuff would make sense first.

As sick as I am of the Taken in-game, It'd be neat to see them do the minis in that sort of half-translucent, half-black look.
>>
>>5925769
It didn't, is that actually true? I didn't feel like arguing at the time and they pulled a flyer to show the exception, pretty stupid since you assume the exceptions are the usual "items on clearance".
>>
>>5925778

They pretty much do have to honor it, if it isn't explicitly listed that the item is excluded.

One time I went into TRU and they had a large LEGO set on sale, but they they had three different prices listed for it. I asked them about it, and they said they would honor the lowest price (which was something like 60% off) even though that price was technically wrong.

I've got these little display cases that I put the Destiny minis in. Unfortunately, you can't really buy them, as they came with some Japanese coin figures some 10+ years ago.

I think the figures look pretty good in them, but I only have enough empty ones for about another wave of Destiny minis before I run out.

Oh the irony. Around here I only get Delta and Foxtrot. And to top it off, I suspect some of the workers at both my local Walmart and TRU must collect or resell these things because I've shown up during a restocking and WAITED until the worker physically replaced the blindbag carton, only to discover that it's already been picked through and the rares/chases removed. Fucking. Rage.

Fuck!

FFFUUUCK!!!!

I JUST NOW opened up my Stormcaller and checked out the little instruction paper that comes with all blok sets. There are THREE heroes on the cover - the Stormcaller, the Sunbreaker... and a hunter! A HUNTER! WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK? There's possibly a THIRD fucking exclusive out there?! Did I miss it or is it going to be released in an upcoming convention?!

FUCK!
>>
>>5935909
If they haven't released it yet, it could be a NYCC exclusive.
>>
>>5935909
Of course there's going to be a clear Nightstalker Hunter incoming, despite the lack of love for Titans in the first wave Destiny is all about the three Guardian classes. Well, that and hiding half the story offsite in Grimoire cards.

Not out at all yet though, you'll know once it is because that's when the bitching starts.
>>
>>5936017
It will probably be sooner rather than later because on the MB website there is a "figure creator" that lets you dress up a guardian avatar using all the current MB parts. They recently updated it to include the convention exclusive parts, but they also included parts that aren't available yet like extra titan bodies.
>>
>>5935735
I think i'm in the same boat. Local store sold out of foxtrot and put out two boxes of echo. Neither had a chase variant or AC arbiter. Then after they sold through that, a box of delta. Also no rares or chase. i envy that stock boy

Hnnngod.

When I was a kid I played the shit out of Legos. I would often buy double sets just to have extra guys. Back then Mega Blok was cheap ripoff shit and I never gave it a second look. Now with the new figures and licenses, god damn. I woulda loved to have this stuff as a kid. The fucking Halo guys are my current favorite, just wish I'd joined the ride back when the apparently huge sets were available. The customization of the new armor ones are fucking rad, though, and I just buy tons of the blindbags just to have duplicates.

Who was your first purchase, /toy/? Mine was a Foxtrot Spartan JFO. And overall do you recommend the CoD or Destiny sets?
>>
>>5939743
My first mega set was the cod desert troopers, the first one. Then I moved to halo and now tmnt, terminator and destiny. I got a couple of the ass cred sets, but they're not my thing.

I definitely recommend cod and destiny! Cod vehicles are a thing of beauty. Just beware that cod and destiny figs are a bit taller than the rest.

My first set was the AA turret with three Spartans, all the way back in the first wave. The piece quality wasn't where it's at now but I was sold on the awesome minifigs, even with their clunky SMGs (that have since been redesigned). After that I got the Warthog and almost every set since.

Can't speak for Destiny sets as they don't interest me but the CoD ones are definitely worthwhile, the interchangeable weapons are great and the sets are generally well done.
>>
>>5939097

I dunno. Different people have different tastes, but I doubt most people will appreciate the rest of the set. Instead they'll see it as a 30$/€ warlock plus filler.

>>5939743

My first set was the Jungle ODST. I bought him just because I wanted a single micro action figure. At first I thought his green would be bright, and didn't like that, but I bought him anyway because he was the only one left. I was pleasantly surprised by everythjng on him. From the shade of green to the shining finish, the detail and the articulation.
Sadly I live in a third world country and both variety and distribution of anything other than TNMT is very limited. There are very few CoD sets, a few Charlie blindbags that are hard to get, and very very few armoury and sparrow Destiny sets. One of the reasons I'm hoping for a Titan armoury is so I'll have a chance of getting one.

Regarding the current Destiny sets, the greatest con is the recycled pieces. There's only two different shoulder pad and head molds for the hunter.
A second con is a relative incompatibility. CoD and Destiny have different thighs than Halo that can't make use of thigh armour. But on the other hand they have hip belts that knives and pistols can clip onto and look as if they are holstered.

I recommend you give an armoury pack a try. It has all the current molds for two classes and a variety of extra weapons.
>>
>>5939985

>relative incompatibility. CoD and Destiny have different thighs than Halo that can't make use of thigh armour.

MB isn't really know for compatibility from one line to another. Almost all of their minis are totally different by design, and rarely do they even share points of articulation from line to line.

>Regarding the current Destiny sets, the greatest con is the recycled pieces. There's only two different shoulder pad and head molds for the hunter.

I feel like this isn't even really a fair, or valid complaint at this point, since;

1.) The Destiny line is barely one wave in.

2.) They've really only been widely available for like, maybe 3 months so far.

Both of the above means they just haven't had time to build a library of parts yet. That said;

3.) Even if they've only done two hunter heads, there are three classes and they've done five heads total. Never mind all of the armor parts for the titan, the cloaks, belts, capes, thigh parts, shoulder pads for the other classes, all of the weapons in the line are new--including some parts they could have skimped by on but didn't (the generic rocket launcher doesn't have the same detail work as the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher in the Fallen Walker set) the Ghosts are new sculpts, the Fallen Captain minis are packed with detail and from what I can see are mostly new parts, and new and unique parts (some are quite large) in the sets, like the front ends for the Sparrows, some wing and engine parts for the Jumpship, the large head part for the Fallen Walker, smaller parts like Atheon's head parts, the Shank's "face" parts, the harpy's wings, etc, as well as the nice Destiny logo display stands in the Armory sets, and the huge logo display stand in the Jumpship set.

Just give them some more time.
>>
I wonder if MB will debut a new license as well as display the new stuff they already got at NYCC.
>>
>>5939743
Mine was a Halo blind bag. One of the last series before they introduced the new articulation and armor system to that line. For the most part Halo blind bags make up the majority of my Mega collection, because I'm primarily in it for the figures.

I do have two smaller CoD sets, though. The Rocket Turret and Sidecar Pursuit sets. The CoD figures really are a step up from even the updated Halo figures. And the bike build from the Sidecar Pursuit set is pretty good, and I'm still not a big fan of Mega's actual building sets.
>>

Wake me... when Blue Team

>>5940679
>Just give them some more time

Oh I agree completely. I was just talking about Destiny sets as they are right now.
Imo the lack of titans hurts the diversity of the sets. It makes hunters and warlocks more recuring. I don't understand why they did that. They already have the molds for a titan.

I understand titans have the same appeal as spartans (armoured sci-fi soldiers) and therefore will have to contest eachother for the non-gamer sales. I think MB should include titans in it's range, but keep them few and accessible (why buy an expensive scifi armoured dude (titan) when you can get one in a blindbag (spartan)) and also bolster Destiny variety with more enemy sets.

I think I made this point a few threads back. What MBs need to do is make Titan armory sets that have one set of generic armor and the second set be one of the more unique armor sets like any of the Raid sets/Prison of Elders/Trials of Osiris/Iron Banner/etc to show they aren't like the Spartans.

Also speaking of what we hope is coming. I kinda hope we get an Aksis playset. That would be pretty fucking cool
>>
>>5941064

Honestly, we just need more Titans in any capacity.

RoI was kind of disappointing, content-wise, but it had a lot of cool, twisted visuals that would make for some awesome builds.

I commented earlier in the thread and I'll say it again, but I really hope they do a SIVA-based Fallen Walker. Even if it is two, three, four waves from now. I just liked how that looked.
>>
>>5940985

So two questions. Huge lg fan and I live this kit since it was on lego ideas. I've experimented and enjoyed some sluban kits in the past but I normally go with eBay.

Is aliexpess safe? How do I not get scammed, and does anyone have this? I'm mostly interested in the instructions and building itself.

Probably worth the $55 on there, I just want your opinions and how to be safe on there. Thanks!

They have buyer protection on everything now. When the thing doesn't arrive in the expected delivery time (56 days for most things) you can make a dispute and Aliexpress will give your money back. The seller only gets the money when your item arrived and you confirm the arrival or when 56 days passed with no action on your side. You have to initiate the dispute before the expected delivery date has come. They also don't share your E-Mail adress with sellers when you don't tick the box on the order page.

I'm not sure if I'd want them as straight mini figs with removable armor or mini vehicle/exoskeletons that regular mini figs wear. Probably the former for simplicity of mold and lower price. They could just make them slightly larger than the Halo or COD mini figs and make the heads swappable.
>>
>>5948907

Imagine if MB had been a big thing in Japan and it eventually evolved into what it is now but with more licenses than just Sentai, KR, Gundam, and One Piece.

>Imagine

I am.

I'd still be cool with a new Gundam MB license for the US, even if they did large mobile suits that weren't in mini fig scale included with a pilot mini fig in uniform or normal suit. And the possibility of a Zeon and Feddie infantry set would be awesome with a mini fig scale Magella Top Tank or T65 Tank. Or one of the hover trucks from 08th MS Team.

Plus every version of Section 9 members that came out.

I would be all over Appleseed stuff too, especially ESWAT stuff. There's tons of cool shit from the comics that could be done like different landmates, different ESWAT and SWAT characters, vehicles, high riding one piece wearing titty oiled up titty monsters etc.

>>
>>5957670
Hard to tell, it's pretty blurry on the box. Looks sweet though.
>>
>>5957637
I think it's just their designs.

The Captains look better because their design is supposed to be this rugged, cobbled together look to their armor, which plays nicely with the paint wash they put on the figure. Also the extra torso makes it unique. How often do we get 4 armed minifigs?

On the other hand the Cabal are all round shapes and smooth edges. Even in game they usually look clean despite being on dusty Mars. Maybe they could've done something to maybe give it a dusty look but I'm fine with their appearance.
>>
>>5957670
>>5957673
It's the Bindcaster I helmet. Same one that came with the FWC/DO Warlock armory set.
>>
>>5957632
He's got them Donald Trump hands
>>
>>5957674

They could have done a little something. These minis have been super detailed, and while the Cabal minis still look really good, they just don't look quite as exciting as the Guardians/Fallen/Hive we've seen.

Even the box shows what looks like black lining or detailing on the red parts.

Not the end of the world, for sure, because there are still a lot of really nice details.
>>
>>5957675

I think he's talking about the one in the armory set. The one with the Sparrow comes with the Bindcaster, but the armor set looks different. Then again, it is really tiny to see the detail, and the armory sets come with two heads anyway.

I'm guessing one of them will be a recolor of the head that comes with the Warlock from the Hive Seeder set. The helmet in this image here >>5939097
>>
>>5957679
To be fair the Cabal haven't been to exciting since Destiny's inception except for that one time they decided the best way to deal with Oryx was to ram a ship into the Dreadnaught and then wipe out the entire Solar System by detonating the Dreadnaught's core. That was funny.

>>

I hate how they're all so same-y looking. A lot of them either look like (or similar to) that helmet that we got on the first Titan mini (which I don't really like) or they all have that huge dome, which I don't really like either, and they use similar ones like that even in some of the Halo designs.

Helm of Inmost Light I like a lot too. Most of the helmets I like for Titans are Exotics, which kind of sucks since I don't really like using exotic Helmets on Titans too much.

Theres a looooot of armor, though. Maybe eventually they'll do something like that. I generally swap shit out often anyway, but there are some full sets I would like to see. I really hope we get a Jovian Guard Titan sometime.
