Why aren't there posing threads anymore?
I did one last month with the body-kun. Not many participants though.
>>5904301
Generally the pose been asked to recreate is boring.
Maybe posing threads should have topics to recreate a bit like the Lego threads building challenges.
I would love active pose threads, I usually try to keep them alive, but I get tired of seeing a thread that's 80% of my shit set up.
There's a pretty cool transformer bro that keeps them active sometimes too.
Not my favorite I have done but, i want to add to this. Cuz we need more threads like this.
Just gonna post what I have.

>futa Clover
Neat.
>>5904321
Guy that posted this
This was such a huge pain in the ass to do. The NECA Godzilla figures are to damn heavy
>>5904340
nice
>>5904318
That and some people just can't recreate what they see. So you have a bunch of lifeless, bad attempts with people blaming their camera and copping out with "I tried".
Here's some past pix from "Recreate this" threads.
>>5904368
Has there ever been a really poseable Godzilla figure? Most end up looking like fat guys in a suit. Which, well, ok, the suits were always chunky as fuck.
>>5904870
Depends on what you mean by "super poseable"
These next few were from an album cover recreation thread.
>>5904876
Figma/Revoltech tier.
>>5904926
The SH Monsterarts are going to be the best as far as super poseable.
>>5904995
Alright, thanks.
>>5904878
Gold
Because they usually devolve to shitposting. You could almost count >>5889081
as one.
>>5905010
That completely lifeless expression on Rogue just makes me laugh for some reason.
"I'm going to eat you now."
"Whatever. I'm bored. You're boring."
Posting more just because I'm bored and having a bad day.
>>5905114
Saturdays should be happy days, anon
>>5905136
They should, but it's been a shitty day for me. Hope others are having better ones.
>>5905003
SHMA are the best sculpt wise and articulation. Both of my NECAs have QC problems, but people say that SHMA has the same problem. I personally don't have any SHMA, but I have a friend that collects only that.
>>5905040
That thread was literally only ruined because people got triggered over a "normie meme"
>>5904839
Gave it an honest try
I wish Kinnikuman came with a happy face.
>>5905177
Why is Goku creepin' in the back?
>>5904714
This, a million times. Not saying people shouldn't try - we could be helpful to each other, if we really wanted to giving tips on how to pose and what to change.
Shitty lighting, shitty life.
>>5905807
Because Kinnikuman is a hottie with a beach body
>>5905816
I'm not saying people shouldn't try either. I understand not everybody has a handle on good posing and details and such; but there's always people in the threads who you can tell put no thought or effort into what they did. They pose the figure in a way that sometimes isn't even close to the picture they're replicating, snap a blurry, over-exposed, badly composed picture, post it up (usually sideways) and say "I tried.".
If you try to give tips and critiques, they get asspained and start in with the defensiveness, arguing, and the ultimate in shitty excuses: "Well let's see YOUR work!". Giving critiques (whether it's just friendly tips and advice, or just plain "It looks like shit") around here for the most part falls on deaf ears.
>>5906501
"It looks like shit" isn't a critique, it's being a dicklord
>>5904340
10/10 senpai
>>5906689
>"It looks like shit" isn't a critique,
Sure it is.
Obviously the person who tells you that thinks your work looks like shit. I agree it's not constructive. It doesn't tell you WHY they think it looks like shit, but it is a legitimate critique.
>it's being a dicklord
Maybe. Maybe it's just somebody giving their honest take on something.
I also see a lot of people who can't accept the "it's shit" critique because it's harsh, refuse to accept a well thought out and kindlier worded critique either.I think the problem lies with people who were brought up being told that they were a special perfect angel, and that everything they did was absolute gold!" and that it was "OK to not do something properly as long as they did SOMETHING.". It's bred a generation of people who can't take anything that's not stroking their ego, or gingerly holding their hand and walking them through something so as not to crush their feelings.
It's a harsh world. People need to develop a thick skin. If a person can't take something as minuscule as a callous remark regarding their picture of a toy, how can they take some of the real shit that the universe is going to throw at them from time to time. (or all the time in some cases)? Getting defensive, reactionary and asspained over something like that, instead of stopping and contemplating that maybe they have a point, is counter productive to improving yourself.
>>5904301
I have that toy!
God, what a mournful figure.
>>5904870
That is the problem and the whole of the problem.
Maybe if there was a high quality figure of Zilla, but that's probably never going to happen.
>>5906927
Saying "it's shit" on 4chan with no given reasoning is definitely not a legitimate criticism. People on this site will say it just to say it.
I'm complete fine with someone shitting all over my pictures as long as they at least tell me why.
>>5904301
I miss those threads too.
but they seemed to degrade into ppl arguing that the poses weren't 100% spot on, instead of having fun.
Someone should start one.
>>5905010
Ultron back there just jackin it.
>>5906501
Yeah, there's always that one anon who says "let's see your poses" or "let's see your collection"
>>5904340
where'd all those tvs come from?
What do you think?
>>5909304
everyone with a shield looks great
magneto and wolverine look great
everyone else is okay
antman doesnt look too good.
I dont own any of these figures so I dont know how poseable they are. The great ones look really great though!
>>5909304
I think you bought a bunch of Hasbroshit.
>>5909905
oh, boy!
>>5909905
How does it feel being a fag?
>>5909304
Good stuff. I'd spread the shield guys around though, having them right next to each other makes it look like they're doing the same thing even when they're not. Maybe make one of them left handed?
Also, my first take was that space venom and spider girl were swing dancing, and he just dipped her.
>>5909472
Nice, I love when figures can convincingly pull off riding a bike.
>>5905828
>Not grainy
>Nice poses
7/10
yeah, light could be better.
Still learning. How could I improve on this?
>>5910145
I'm not sure what you're really going for pose-wise, but what I can tell you is to focus your camera on the figures and not the background. And up the lighting.
>>5910153
Sorry, I was going for Bruce being surprised/annoyed by Kakashi. Despite me trying to focus my camera on either one, it wouldn't. As for the lighting, that shelf is in a corner, away from my light. I appreciate the comment.
Did I do good?
>>5910958
Fuck off, you useless piece of shit.
Apologies for the shitty photo

Way too much stuff in the background distracting from the 2 figures.
Angle is too high. Instead of looking down at the figures you should have it near their eye level. That adds a bit of realism.
Really bland, lifeless posing. Check out some wrestling shots on Google for good action posses
Also, too many photos. It's overkill. 10 pix of a jumbled mess. You should take several and then pick the best 3 or 4 shots.
>>5912714
Camera's too high. Should be at eye level.
Pose is OK, but a bit stiff.
Needs to be resized. Way bigger than necessary.
Needs better cropping.
Also posted sideways.
>>5912433
If you think it's shitty, don't post it. Seriously. If you aren't happy with it, keep taking shots until you find one you like. Then post it, without a disclaimer. Let the viewer decide if it's good or not. If you tell us you think it's shit, why should we bother to try and like it?
Also resize. Again that's much bigger than necessary.
In fact that's a pretty common issue people keep having. A big grainy, blurry, crowded photo at such a high resolution is really going to look like shit. Better to resize it and that will sometimes help hide the flaws. There's no real need for anything over 950-1000 width. (unless it's REALLY nice and clear and good looking. But again it's better to post a smaller version, and keep a higher rez handy if somebody requests it for a wallpaper or something.)
>>5913207
Not either if them, but you're the best kind of anon
Any other poster would've just said "it's shit"
Robin is dodging Kinnikuman's kick
