>Second wave of Desktop Army, Chrom, up for preorder
>Second wave of Megami Device up for preorder but usual suspects are all out for now.
>the Shinki kits are kind of in limbo with no official release dates, but they're still showing off the prototypes

Where to buy second hand Shinkis:
>eBay, Amazon - generally overpriced, but you might get lucky.
>Mandarake, Rakuten - search 武装神姫 and don't trust listing images.
>Yahoo Japan Auctions, Suruga-ya - you'll need a proxy if you’re not in Japan.
>Taobao - some shops ship international now, so you might not need a proxy.
>Amiami, Jungle-scs - occasionally get some preowned.
>Check the BST threads, My Figure Collection, and Busou Shinki World too.

Todays delivery :P
MMS type Hunter Blood Barret BB resin kit.
I already have a recast of this in its original red and white, but when an original popped up on mandarake I couldnt resist.
Was surprised to see that not only is it in variant colours (black and pink instead of red and white) But it comes with a whole new set of weapons too.
new weapons are a pair of beartrap weapons, (think katar x beartrap)
a pair of hunting knives
a pair of 4 barrel handguns
and a gatling tail for the wolf
I woulda been happy with just another regular red version, ecstatic with this.

the koto web shop has a different color, sort of

I'd assume you'd have to get it through a proxy or auction though, as I think their web shop only sells to japan

I also am not too fond of this particular design. I'm waiting on the rest of the pictures to decide. The body is fine, I suppose, but I've never really been a fan of the hresvelgr.
>>
>>5899682
I've had a forwarder set up for ages so that's no problem, but they really didn't change anything significant for the coloring. Pink hair does not go with those shades of purple and while the colorless clear parts are less offensive than the aquamarine ones on the original I still don't really like them. I'll probably have plenty of time. E to think on it though, so whatever.

also. I'm assuming its fine to paint colored resin?

I've never worked with that material before, just gunpla
>>
>>5901623
It's fine, yeah. You're still going to want to prime it though.
>>
>>5901623
Other than being brittle and possibly toxic to you, there isn't much that's different from building a gunpla kit with this one. Just handle it gingerly and you should be fine.

Really, you likely won't have to fill in airbubbles or anything that's usually the case for resin kits either, cause Muscuto's casts are top-notch. I have legitimately never seen a resin kit of this high quality before his ICE Cracker. Even the best ones that I saw from WF had small irregularities like flashing and airbubbles that I had to fill in. My first Muscuto kit, none of that.

Sooo, once upon a time, when Busou Shinkis were plentiful and (relatively) inexpensive, I bought Vespelio. Later, when the newer bodies were released, and the bicep and thigh washers were optional, I saw it and said "Hey, that's cool." and I modded my Vespelio to be similar.

Fast forward to the present day. Vespelio's been in a zipper bag, tucked away in a box for a good while now, and I have no real interest in displaying her.

I know what I've done has more or less killed any resale value she once had, which I've found to be, low end, around $100. Would $50 be a reasonable amount to ask?

Do you have multiple 1/12 figures that would look neat in a mech? If so, maybe
If not, pass. It's not a really exciting design IMO. Gourai especially seems to get lost in it because she's the same color.

Seams looks nice but hard to tell with that photo quality. Lining can be better.
>>
>>5906408
What'd I do wrong with the lining, if I might ask?
>>
>>5906413
The thin lines like those on Materia and Gourai's shoulders look good. Might just be the angle but some lines don't appear too well or lacks consistency with other lines; Gourai's left arm looks thick and the right leg doesn't show well.
>>
>>5906402
Also, I guess if anyone's interested, I'd sell these two for $35 shipped. That's less than half their combined MSRP, I believe.

Yes? just pretend it's a light armor third party shinki and call it a day, put together the mecha bits when you feel like she needs the third party STA-AP.

>>5906935
Oh, that. Sorry, but when you use "pimped" in that context I normally expect rhinestones and spinners.

Yeah, the sculpt is nice, but I find myself noticing that the joints look less jointy, as far as that makes sense.

As far as what you mentioned though, they dropped lots--well, all-- of the torso armor which makes them look less chunky and more organic. It's a big change but not necessarily a bad one, though I did like Stylet. A bit more angle to her chest armor and she'd be even better.

He seems to be busy because of the holiday shipping issues, and well the holiday itself too, but I asked on the cafe for you.

He's been shipping any orders from within korea first, so we'll probably see everything that's going out of the country shipped at the same time sometime after.

Also, seems there was an earthquake yesterday in korea, so that might cause some delays too.

>>
Guys, word of warning about the decals in Muscuto's kit. Don't use mark softer or any kind of decal softener on them. You WILL destroy them.

They're a lot weaker than what I'm used to from Kotobukiya, in any case.
>>
>>5907718

>>
>>5909921
I should probably order a few 1mm magnets too then.
>>5909811
Is Mr. Mark Setter okay to use or will that damage them too.
>>
>>5909918
It comes with Sand Sakura, at the very least. It's the unfinished face in that set. The terrified/embarrassed one is fully done out of the bag.
>>
>>5909926
Wait, my mistake.

Yeah, no, that's a new face he just posted on the cafe. Not included with the recent release of Serpent Noir. He'll probably sell it stand alone later.

>>5909923
Mark Setter should be fine. It doesn't react with the decal in any way, in any case. It just makes the back side stickier for the decal to hold on to.

>>5909923
The 1mm is just for the back plate. If you don't plan on using the included wire stand, you don't need it. Unless you're planning on making the cat ears removable or something.
>>
>>5909933
Scratch that, don't even use mark setter. It just makes it more difficult for a decal this delicate. In fact, if you need to fix a wrinkle or something, just dab it with a q-tip and some water, but not too much, because too much water will damage the decal too.

I'm really glad he included 3 sets of decals in my order from way back. I just burned through 2 of them.

I would like to buy this but it seems like a GK. I was looking at the listing on Amiami and it says that it "comes unpainted" and I contacted their support and they confirmed that it requires painting. However, looking at the photos of the frames on 1999 it seems like it's fairly coloured. Will it look awful if I just assemble it without painting and be a waste of time? Or will it still look fine? I'm sorry if this should be obvious, I haven't purchased any figures which require assembly or painting before.

I asked /a/ and a guy told me to check this place out, some nice figures here. He also said I should be able to get away without painting. I actually used to paint warhammer models, but I haven't in a few years and my paints have dried up.

>>5901882
Do all of these models require this much effort?

>>5899744
Is this another frame arms character, just painted?
>>
>>5910815
They're premolded in color, but not all the details or any of the color gradients shown in the promotional photos. If you've ever built or seen gundam kits before, they're about similar to that.

The blue one linked is a painted frame arms girl stylet. The other one is a resin color garage kit which takes a lot more effort to get done than a typical plastic model kit does.

Have you considered lurking more or reading any guides in the OPs of various threads on this board? Particularly the gunpla guide and the ones in this thread.

Where did you find 2,5x2mm? I never heard of such measurement.
>>
>>5911666
exactly what >>5911757 said.
They're made of 3mm acrylic.
I have a laser cutter for my business and get to mess about making shinki things too.
The arms are from SH Figuarts stands and have a 3mm connector on one end. However they can also be fitted with a claw of holding too.
They're too small for 1/100 kits, but would be fine for 1/144 robutts and 1/12 figures.
One like in the pic will run you about $20 when I get around to listing them.

magnets before it was posted, do you think they'll be an alright size our are they too big?
>>
>>5911998
they'll be fine
>>
Just finished writing the magnetizing guide.

I'm not going to bother with a published doc, it's just too much of a headache. So back to the old doc:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yztsKaMvP_hxPKgOJS9mqKRLaqsxJ40pXF3NJTE1ODY/edit#heading=h.bpdhdjq5zz2x

>>5911998
Sorry, seems I made a mistake earlier. I was using 2.5mm magnets. Really it should be fine either way when it comes to fitting, but that .5mm really makes a difference when it comes to magnet strength. I ordered 50 2mm magnets assuming they'd be fine, but they were quite a bit weaker than the ones I'd already had in.

The doc now has links to K&J Magnets, who has the size that I'd like.
>>
>>5911998
Looking at the N rating of those and the ones I got:
https://supermagnetman.com/collections/neodymium/products/d1002?variant=11410255683

It looks like yours are even weaker than the ones I had. You might want to cancel that order and get the ones from K&J linked in the document.
>>
>>5912048
If you really want to get to specifics, the ones I had been using before til I ran out just now are these from HiQ parts:

http://www.hiqparts.com/product/468

Hobbysearch sells them here:
http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10144817

If you can find something of similar size of N52 strength, you should be golden. They're twice the cost of what K&J sells however.
>>
>>5911982
My cousin has one of these that he doesn't use very much, he purchased the parts off Alibaba I think for about $4000 NZD total.

Gourai and Stylet look fine with a few touch-ups and decals, but Architect is just incredibly bland without some serious work.

I left the laser unattended whilst running a job, something you should NEVER do.
something went wrong and the laser head stopped moving, but the beam kept firing and ignited the plastic I was cutting at the time.
If I'd got to the fire 5 mins later I would have lost everything, luckily I was able to repair and replace everything damaged,

No, Gourai and Architect look good even without paint or decals. It's Stylet that needs major work.

No. It's just gourai and the materias. The others all need some effort

Just got my payment request from Amico for Baselard.

>$75 USD with EMS
Welp, guess I'm bumping down to RSAL. I suppose I can wait.
>>
Is there anyone who ordered gigantic arms with their bunny? Is SAL available??
>>
>>5914921
I've got Baselard, Gigantic Arms, and the REvenant weapon kit (the one with the swords and the bitching high heel boots I plan on repurposing). It's either EMS to the tune of 5200jpy or SAL parcel for 4400 for my order. I don't know if not having the expansion kit would have let it slide in under RSAL, but I kind of doubt it considering how bulky model kit boxes usually are.

Here how much my shipping options are, but I live in New Zealand so that might skew things somewhat.

I'm surprised Baselard released this early, I wasn't expecting her till way later in the month. Then again I don't really pay attention to any announcements. I was considering splitting my orders in case the gigantic arms bumped up the shipping costs a lot but I'm pleasantly surprised with this shipping price for both.

Isn't there supposed to be catgirl looking FAG going up for preorder at some point?

Not like I stand a chance anyway.

Isn't that the point? Gourai is a tank, Stylet is a jet, and Architect is some sort of construction unit. The Materia are civilians, so they're not supposed to look serious or mean. They're supposed to look happy.
>>
>>5915181
Wasn't one of the new materia we've gotten images of a catgirl too? I want it now.

Yes, but she's still in concept-art phase. It'll be a while before you get her.

Lucky you. Mine totaled out at $83 with EMS. Do I need to email Hobby Search to get my shipping bumped down to RSAL? Because I can't find a place on my page to do that.

>>5914949
be warned that those feets are less "high heels" and more "tiptoe-pointed thrusters". don't have any illusions about making something stand on them without aid, be it a proper stand or the mini-stand clear bits included to put in them.
then again, if they're not going to end up as "feet" I guess it's irrelevant.

Japs hate the west enough that they are more than happy to make less money so long as it means not bothering with gaijins. There'sobviously a point where the lost money balances out the hate, which is why amiami takes overseas orders, but that's a good rule of thumb.
off topic, but that's why Valkyria Chronicles started sucking after the first. They ignored the overseas success and instead tried to make it sell better in Japan by pandering to otakus' famously shit taste.
It's supposed to be Hraesvelgr. The Japanese spelled it 'フレズヴェルク' (Furezuveruku) so blame Norse to Japanese to English translation corruption.

the box and the manual (of all versions of the robot) say hresvelgr. actual item trumps store. (manual says ater rather than atel, fwiw, but that part... I've asked norse mythology nerds and nobody could guess what was up with that)

Gentle. Figma are more durable and sturdy. You pratically building these from scratch, and its plastic kit. There will be a lot more empty space inside, and its plastic.
