Lament how this will never happen again except with one-step/flippers/activators/some other shit.

Do you blame the oil companies? The shrinking toy market? Kids today being retarded but their parents don't tell them to deal with it so they blame the toys instead?

The last time that happened to me was with the AOE 5-pack. I got them for like 60% their individual MSRP combined because the local dealers were trying to turn them over quick. It's quite amazing because they had takara-tier paint apps.

Lament?

You should be neutral at best. Good toys on clearance are only good in the very short term. Long term it's actually really bad. That means they're not selling. If they're not selling, new toys won't be ordered for fear that they won't sell either. Underordered toys command higher prices whether or not they're scalped (which is more likely due to smaller supply). When Hasbro sees multiple waves underordered, they go into cost-cutting mode, and release crappier (but slightly cheaper) toys on purpose to entice retailers. That becomes the new status quo.

>sale on TR stuff in Australia
>almost whole range
>can't decide between saving money on TR or buying premium redeco's via legends

Help me decide here, I can't make up my mind because I can't process between saving money or "premium" paint jobs

Now, I've been looking for a voyager classics optimus prime, and the platinum one shall stand and one shall fall set is on sale for $100aud, the problem OTHER than the deco (I'm used to clear plastic) is I have an old henkei megatron which I paid roughly the same amount as a current day voyager+ shipping, and I've been having a hard ass time finding a classics voyager optimus for anywhere near his price, should I buy this set and duel wield megatrons or do I continue my search for a classics voyager optimus (yes, I like the mold)?

The TR voyagers I'll be skipping (local chain has only galvatron which I already have and I have a sentinel in the mail) but the problem lies in the legends leaders and deluxes.

For the deluxes, I already have the legends versions which I like...but I also like the TR deluxe heads specifically the 80's headmaster crew (I already have a skullcruncher which I've ripped apart for a megalligator custom), can I justify $20aud just for a head or is that retarded, otherwise suggest a custom that's more than just a redeco if you can please.

The leaders tie in with the legends, see I have my sights on PMOP because he's technically a different character to super ginrai, blaster on the other hand is giving me a headache, pay extra for a different deco or save money ($60aud as he stands), I wanted the takara version JUST because of the grey used (the hasbro version has glittery legs, I HATE the grey tone AND the sheen AND how strong the prescence the glitter is) but otherwise are exactly the same toy, same for rewind (already have stripes), is it worth sticking to takara due to my anti glitter plastic bias or save $40aud after shipping and crap for takaras?

I wish this was wave 3

My plan initially was to get the TR versions over the legends but my hlj pre-order bumped in before them, I'm basically trying to justify a second hardhead head variant, both looked fine otherwise.

Good points, I'll have to ponder, if the plastic was a flat color without the glitter I would of went hasbro in the first place (because the helmet makes more sense as a toy homage than takara has done).

Also cyclonus doesn't come with his target master, he gets a redeco'd musket from kup

If you mean the fort max arms they're no different to his hasbro intended city mode, basically all this mode does is fold the legs underneath the main body, they'll hold.

>I like the way Clobber and Crashbash are hanging out; does Max have spots to hold TMs in head mode?
I liked the trophy wall kinda look and wanted the other guys like that too, sadly their peg holes are too wide to stay securely.

As for TM's in head mode do you mean AS a head, none on the top of the head, the shoulders of the body have pegs though (which are the ones clobber and squeeze play are using)

Otherwise could you rephrase the request?

Just to add I found one port on the head but its meant for control tower mode, its a BIG peg so its a tight fit, got a feeling its intended for locking down the head in head mode.

If you also (in regards to the handing arms) did you mean how the guns are hanging off, there are compatible 5mm ports holding them, if they fall its because of the ports being worn away, I don't intend to pull them off any time soon as I want fort max as another table for my crap

You know how Clobber and Crashbash are held by the tiny head when they're in dino mode? I was asking if Fort Max had any indentations like that. Places where Titan Masters can be held via the tiny head.

It just looks like the actual arms are sagging. I assume the ratchets are pretty tight though.

>>5899059
SDCC, if you get it its because you were there, its kinda regretful as I basically paid the price of 2 deluxes for the sword, pre-applied stickers (one is missing, you see it on >>5899046, and poorly applied) and a poster, oh and a slight retool for the titan master to look like fortress but painted (poorly) to also homage cerebros.

>>5899062
>You know how Clobber and Crashbash are held by the tiny head when they're in dino mode
They're held in via their feet in dino mode to the upper jaw but um...well the only spot for a head in headmode to sit via the headmaster headpeg is via the cerebros body, basically what becomes the head for cerebros can remain there when transformed as there is a cavity when he's in head mode.

Doesn't need to be used so you can have emmisary run around while fort max runs about the place

>>5899065
Kek, I posted delta magnus last night and no one batted an eye to the fact he was off the table, here he's far more safe even now

And perhaps and hopefully that best explains where a headmaster can "head on" in headmode, the body which becomes fort max's head is basically a giant titan master, I just folding up his back kibble to expose the face in robot mode.

>It just looks like the actual arms are sagging. I assume the ratchets are pretty tight though.

I forgot to answer but I will now, they don't really look it to me, but I have some faith they'll hold, metroplex's have held and they been in a simerlar position for over a year.

The ratchets have a louder click to them than the shoulders do at least

I figured they learn their lession and would have gone another route.
I'm curious how long this exclusive warms Hasbro toy shops shelves.

There is nothing wrong with the idea of the retool, infact I find sdcc devastator to be an interesting choice if takara didn't give both to people.
The problem with him is his deco doesn't catch your attention, its closer to anime accurate but its certainly not close to what takara has done (which is almost collectors grade stuff), I know people hate chrome but a chrome face and sword would give it a WOW factor.

Otherwise they could of cobbled together a pretended shell for emissary and gave us grand max, I mean shit even the clear sentinel prime was more eye catching than fort max

Not trying to trigger anyone, friend, because I do think Hasbro Computron has it's charm. It's closer to the G1 toy, and they used a better mold choice for Lightspeed (I hate the CW Breakdown mold). The Hasbro version also has the better hands/feet, but that didn't matter to me since I really like Perfect Effect's hands/feet that double as weapons.

Apart from Takara giving Scattorshot a better chest and Computron head, the sets really are debatable.

...Except for Nosecone. Anyone who thinks Hasbro's take on Nosecone is good is obviously blind.
>>
>>5899478

Imagine if, instead of releasing entirely different shit for each region, they pooled their resources and made one REALLY GOOD toy for all regions?

Imagine if everyone got Legends Blur.
>>
>>5899481
I'm pretty sure a lot of that has to do with Hasbro not wanting to spend money on paint/retools. Hasbro cuts a lot of corners to make figures fit into a certain price point, make a bigger profit and sell shit to kids. Takara doesn't have to worry about that kind of shit (aside from profit) and their pricing can be all over the place because of this.
>>
>>5899481
The problem is the price point. Western markets has an MSRP while Japan and Asian is basically, just do what you can and it gets priced accordingly.

I agree that Hasbro's Nosecone could have been decent had they remolded the head and gave it a bigger drill. However, they didn't even bother to do any of that, so it just comes off as a brown Brawl with a drill coming out his ass.

I can understand UW Nosecone's deco not being your cup of tea (I personally like it though), but the Rook mold is widely agreed by the fandom to be an excellent mold. Saying you don't like his bot mode is weird...but I guess that's just your opinion.

It suffers the same flaw as Scourge's. It will flop forward or backward at the actual connection port because nothing blocks the tiny head from moving in the port. However, beyond that, he's a good figure, and it's not like his head is going to flop just sitting there.

-Wing tampos on Slingshot, Fireflight, and Sky dive will definitely rub off if you fold them back when transforming them (in Skydive's case, it's the hinge that will rub off)
-Airraid might have a problem were the wings pivot, but I think it has enough clearance, but the silver on his chest and sides will start chipping after a while (the original had this too).
-Last, but your YMMV on this, the paint applications on both Fireflight, and Slingshots chests go all the way to the pelvis, so that can chip if you ham hand it, plus Fireflights tail fin is painted and will start rubbing off if you ham hand it

This is actually Skydive, sorry for mixing that up.

Can anyone sell me on the Titan Masters? They look sort of interesting, but seem expensive for a tiny bot and vehicle combo.
>>
>>5900224
A drop of Future shine or clear top coat fixes that with minimal issues
Just let that drop dry before plugging the head in
>>
>>5900104
The colors are near perfect. The size of the head is a little small on the body in robot mode though.
>>
>>5900275
Fun
>>
>>5900275
They're basically oversized Target masters, but instead of having a vehicle, gun, and robot mode, they have tiny pilots that ride a object that can turn into 2 vehicles, and a weapon.
>>
>>5900275
They're really nice desk toys. They transform really quickly. Plus, you've got a (clunky) gun you can arm your bigger dudes with.
>>
>>5900275
The only one that's really fun on my own for me is the Crashbash mold. But they all become way more fun if you have larger figures to use them with.

So, I'm looking at Generations 30th Skywarp, Legends Skywarp and Legends Combiner Wars Skywarp. Maybe Animated Skywarp, if just for collection purposes and that smug look. Any experience with any of those? I have the Legends Starscream so I am not overly worried about that one.

Also, Ratbat RID minicon - worth the $5? Figure I might grab it and Crashbash and have all the listed Transformers to play with, as well as my box of G1/Beast Wars/G2 stuff.
>>
>>5900330
>generations skywarp
the game one? that mold is fucking amazing dude, the only issues is the head block showing up in vehicle mode, and the strange cybertronian cheese wedge vehicle. Some people don't like its look.

>legends CW
It's ok, and it shelfwarmed like crazy so it should be easy to get. It's a more rounded version of the legends one and has actual elbows and knees. Not sure which "legends" one you're referring to since there's like 2-3 recent legend SWs.

>animated
It's really fucking nice, and the animated stuff always has satisfying transformations. I think his prices are a bit high now though
>>
>>5900082
only as a backstage betty
>>
>>5900299
I still can't understand why the 130 listing is still a pre-order. The toy is fucking out, hell, there are other listings that aren't preorders.
>>

>>
>>5900243
Its always fucking Cliffjumper. Unless they come out of left field with Glyph.
>>
>>5900352
Glad to hear the Generations version is pretty awesome. I'm perfectly fine with odd vehicles, I mean I'm sitting here with the Transformers Universe: Skywarp, which is a pretty crazy design in Robot and Vehicle mode.

Legends CW is around the $12 mark from what I have seen. Love the mold it uses - the design is really nice.

The Legends I mentioned is pic related.

Animated is $34 I believe. A bit nerve inducing, if just because it's a large sum for a single kit.

Thanks for giving me the heads up/teaching this new /toy/ fan what you know.
>>
>>5900239
Well, which figures are they? Based on which ones they are we can tell you if they are worth picking up.

Also, out of curiousity, what board are you usually from, or are you new to 4chan in general? You seem too polite to be from /toy/ or 4chan in general.

Sorry for causing any confusion/issues, I need to get back into Transformers better, so I do not say things I might not mean or understand. Again, sorry.

Ten year veteran. Use to post on /toy/ years ago when I had access to the future releases/prices at Toys R Us because of my job there. Now I mostly stay in the Transformers General here, browse Toy somewhat, and otherwise stick to the Smite general on /vg/ with trips to /vr/. Nothing special, honestly.

>>5900391
Thanks Anon! I'll make sure to pick at least Skywarp and Starscream up. Maybe Thundercracker if I get desperate.

Seems like it, they predicted Shockwave, Inferno/Grapple, and seem well on their way to predicting MP Mega/Galvatron, Trailcutter, and Springer.
>>
>>5900407
I'd def recommend Warpath and Cliffjumper. While Megatron is a better use of the mold, Warpath is a servicable alternative, plus his red is real nice. Same goes for Cliffjumper, except I prefer him over Bee.
>>
>>5900407
Don't worry. It's really the fault of the line, for moving the "Legends" tag all over the place.

I use "Legion" as the name for the older, smaller Legends. That was what they were called from 2011-2013.

The current "Legends" are around the same size as the old Scout class, or the Commander class. I guess choose whichever to refer to these.

>>
>>5900418
Yay, most are great, just some qc issues with loose joints, but the molds are pretty solid.
>>
>>5900418
If you were to only buy a few, I would recommend Weirdwolf and Chromedome to be priority. The worst (excluding Blur and Scourge) is probably Highbrow because he feels cheap and he weighs less than helium.
>>
>>5900430
I dunno, the 2011 one is really good
>>
>>5900415
Yeah, I have the Megatron tank to go along with Warpath's H tank version. To be honest, I love the design because it keeps the Gen 1 chest gun, silly as it sounds. Cliffjumper seems solid to me, I just hope the toys are still there!

>>5900417
The nomenclature for Transformers does seem a bit difficult and redundant in the worst manner.Makes me wish it was more like Gunpla, in having grades instead of names/classes. Not to mention a chance like that could possibly lead to Transpla.
>>
>>5900425
There's a Highbrow and Chromedome available at my Walgreens

>>
>>5900438
Highbrow can have a wobbly head, but otherwise is pretty good, if you are tired of the Deadend/Stretwise transformation get Highbrow over Chromedome, he isn't bad either, just doesn't feel as new.
>>
>>5900439
I like him, but a attempt at a more normal tank would be appreciated, the lack of a handheld gun seem's odd to me (atleast you can make arm cannons).

I wouldn't call MMC announcing an Overlord literally years ago to be "rushing" it. Or IF putting one out, what, a year ago? Black Shadow did come out of nowhere fast as fuck though. And Sixshot was recently announced by IF. But MMC has had a Sixshot for a long time now.

Also it's been rumored/semi-confirmed by several people that HaskTak not only knows what the 3P's are making (and vice versa), but their designers gab with each other all the time trading ideas.

Not really, he should sell decently for TT in Japan, has enough fan interest to get a 3rd party figure made of him and he's basically a preretool for Thunderwing so there's two non-asspull uses out of the mould right there. I think he's a pretty smart choice actually, he might already have a Generations figure but him and T-Wing deserve something bigger than a deluxe and the TM gimmick will do a good job of substituting for the Ultra Pretender gimmick, throw in a intergrated TM vehicle and you'll capture the spirit of the originals quite well I think.

But it's a great mold, though, regardless of accuracy. It's a shame only Japan got a proper Megatron out of it.

It's a cute little tank with a clever transformation and a working turret at a legends scale, no less. It's better than the leader class tank, in my opinion.
>>
>>5900761

>>
>>5900773

>>
>>5900774
It's the definition of "oh look, another megatron in the same old dull silver and grey". The Hasbro one is way more unique and interesting
>>
>>5900776
I suppose that's one opinion. I never found good, G1 Megatron molds to be particularly overwhelming in numbers. In fact, before the Takara repaint, had there ever been a tank Megatron with a G1 paint job?

I appreciate that Hasbro did the miner Megatron from the comics. It's clear from his sculpt that it was the intention from the beginning.

>>5900761
>>
>>5900909
Slipstream/Windblade is a nice girl TF mold but general complaints are
>Transformation leaves a big visible gap in the middle of vehicle mode
>Heels make them hard to stand on their own. They have 3mm holes that suit Bandai stands, though.
>>
>>5900938
I'll keep that in mind. My wallet says no, but that chassis and smirk on her say yes.
>>
>>5900909
I own both. The vehicle modes are gappy and don't really hold all that well, and the bot modes are pretty good from thew waist up. The legs are just REALLY hard to pose, and it's a bitch to stand her up because of the shitty ankles/heels. She looks okay on a Tamashii stand though.

Honestly, they're okay figures at best. I personally prefer Slipstream because her face sculpt looks better, the paint is top notch, and it's nice to have a decent representation of the character that DOESN'T look like a tranny.

If you really want a Windblade, the Iron Factory one is probably the best there is so far. But she's Legends scale, so there's that.
