Get it off your chest, anons.
What impure thoughts and acts have you committed?

I got a figure with a paint imperfection under it's clear eye piece.
So I ordered a \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ bingo!

When Target sold the tmnt sewer Playset for $15 clearance I took it home and built it but it was too big so I took it to walmart and got back store credit for the full price.

I got two glow in the dark Smiski (one for me, and one for my girlfriend) and I opened them both, chose the one I wanted, and then sealed the other one back up and gave it to her without her knowing
>>
I always collected import figures and told myself I'd never buy American figured intended for children, but I got back into comics after finding my old collection, and now own 6 Marvel Legends. God, are they shitty but I don't really have a choice for fully articulated characters like Carnage and shit.
>>
>>5897993
I think Funko Pops are better than 90% of transformers.
>>
I keep wanting to dump imports in favor of domestic stuff like Neca and Marvel Legends. Honestly the imports I want are are numbered in the tens, and mostly backlog. The novelty is lost after a year of frequent importing and I'm missing the low maintenance aspect of cheap toys.
>>
>>5897993
I bought NECA's Weird Al based off of the packaging graphics alone, not even the promo shots of the figure that are literally staring at you on the back of the box.

And I don't even like Mego stuff.
>>
Sometimes I paint glasses on my toys with a sharpie
>>
I'm in college, I have a girlfriend, and I am relatively popular and good looking. My girl knows about my toy collecting but no one else. And i'm going to fucking keep it that way. Say whatever you want, but I don't want people to know I collect toys. I even have a very successful instagram account with photographs of my collection.
>>
I normally buy figmas for shows I specifically like, with the exception of two Sword Art Online figmas, one of which I payed $80 bucks for.
>>
I don't even like collecting toys anymore, but it's my business.

Toy collectors are awful people to deal with most of the time.

Everyone I know whose business is in toys grows to hate their customers.

So unreasonable, all the time...
>>
I bought figma Lucina and posed her lewdly but I started to feel like an even bigger loser than I'd usually felt like so I stopped

I'm NECAnon.

Kinda.

After months of that guy shitting up the NECA thread, I got bored, dug through archives, collected all of what I was pretty sure were his posts into a word doc, and either directly quote them or modify them to fit the context of the thread. I don't think he's posted since his last ban until today. Guess which ones are real and which ones are the the imposter! Someone said they had a word cloud of his posts, so that anon might be able to tell if they've paid enough attention, but I doubt it.

When I quit, I'm going to make a NECAnon bingo card so you can all play along when he goes on his next spergy shitpost spree
>>
>>5898465
Get some help dude.
>>
I've stolen a ton of merchandise from the store where I work, at least $1000+. I've taken huge lego sets and resold them, expensive collector items, marvel legends, NECA stuff. I mostly take smaller trinkets like LEGO minfigs, BAF pieces and accessories from six inch figures to flesh out my accessory options. I've devised many different way to steal figures besides just walking out the door with them. I've put items on layway and later opened my box and added items to it. I've stuffed figures inside the boxes of other figures that come in bigger boxes. I've become addicted to it and think I should cool off for fear of getting caught.
>>
>>5898526

I've also returned figures with missing items or completely different figures to get my money back. Most places just don't care to even look at the figures, they just scan the barcode.
>>
>>5898532
An assistant manager at my store was fired and arrested for theft, they had waited long enough until he had stolen enough for it to be a felony. Better be careful the same isn't happening to you.
>>
I steal Build a Figure parts if the wave is shitting up a store for more than 4 months. I try to tell myself that its so they get new stock, but I know Im full of shit
>>
>>5898538
>they had waited long enough until he had stolen enough for it to be a felony
Damn, yeah >>5898526, I'd fucking quit that if I were you.
>>
I steal megabloks figures all the time

The minifigs i mean, they're all in the same place in the boxes

Fyi they're always on the left side of the box almost immediately by the flap, just quickly pop it open, grab the figs and walk away.

I've gotten every single mini figure from every single set outside of the huge ones for the past two years

The only downside is that sometimes you miss the weapons as they may be packed in with other parts
>>
>>5898551
>>5898538

Yeah, I feel really guilty about it most of the time. I think I'll just have to stop at some point. Sooner rather than later. Most of the more expensive stuff I took, I sold off or gave away.

I used to steal toys from my cousins as a child. I smuggled them out in my undies. I even thought my sister the trade. We even kept track of which toys to hide when the original owners came to visit. I'm deeply ashamed of all this.
>>
>>5898484

>>
uhhh my nephew would always want to borrow my figures to play with at his house but then i'd get protective over them and tell his ass no. Then he'd cry to his mom and then she'd get involved and i'd still say no and she would try to talk down to me for having toys. Not really a confession i guess but i dont really have anything to confess and im sure everybody here would be protective over their collection too just sayin

I just bought this and i have no idea if it'll be compatible with Lego or other leading brands. Ive read its from the same company that made one for Transformers years ago, before Kre-o was a thing, and the reviewer said that one wasnt.
>>
>>5898560
I know what you mean man, stealing gives you this mad buzz but seriously fucking stop. i used to steal all the time because i knew what security cameras worked and what ones didn't but i got too cocky and was caught in the end. luckily i got away with claiming it was a first offence and got off with a fine, knowing full well they had no proof of previous times. ever since then i stopped, but you shouldn't wait to be caught, not with the amount you've had.
>>
>>5898675

>>
>>5897993
I give my toys non lore friendly weapons
>>
I have no shame in paying latecomer tax or scalper's demands and I sometimes wonder if this has desensitized me to things like the current USD-yen relationship.
>>
I used to fuck with my toys like sid from toy story. I would melt bad guys and stab them with things and just leave them like that and call it battle damage. The parts swapping was pretty bad among beast wars and everything had remnants of slime or gum on them from being "possessed" or whatever.
>>
>>5898484

You literally are the stupidest person there ever was. I truly hope you are raped and someone with AIDS shits in your mouth.
>>
For me, its probably;

>Buying shit I don't care about just because I need the to scratch the itch, and then I don't even care about the item a week later.
>Buying one or two figures because I think they look neat, then feeling like I need to get the other 50 figures in the line just to "complete" it, even though I don't care about those figures.
>Snatching up a highly-sought or rare figure off the shelf, just to have it not even to flip it, even though I don't give two shits about the character or figure itself.

>>5899259

I mean, sometimes you don't really have a choice like if you just got into something and the only figures for that thing came out years ago or something. But I couldn't imagine just encouraging price gouging and whatnot.

And Latecomer's tax is usually different than scalping.
>>
>>5897993

>SAO
>spending any money on it

Most nauseating confession right there.
>>
>>5897993
Probably not TOO bad...but here it goes:

Back before I had a better job, my wife and I had a joint bank account and would only take an "allowance" of only 50-60 bucks every other week to spend on whatever we wanted. Needless to say, I spent all my dough on toys. $100 a month for toys wouldn't always cut it, though. So I'd monitor our joint account, and "skim off the top", taking 30-40 extra dollars every month to put towards my toy allowance.

When I think about it, I probably took over $1,500 from our joint account to use for toys. It never HURT us financially or anything, but we could have put that money in a savings account.
>>
>>5899319
sure

In general, the worst types ofcustomers to deal with are these

1. Transformers collectors
2. Hotwheels collectors
3. Godzilla fans
4. General import fans
5. DBZ fans who are not hispanic

Transformers fans are just all over the place in terms of how anal or weird they are.

Hotwheels collectors are predatory, and a lot of them are just other dealers.

Godzilla fans are flighty and totally unreliable. If they ask me to get something for them, there's a 50% chance they won't want it when I get it. I stopped carrying most godzilla anything because of this.

Import fans are either totally chill or completely bonkers. No in between. I get in to arguments with them over brown shippers and such all the time despite bluefin not sending a lot of figures with them. They are categorically impatient.

Non-hispanic dbz collectors. Anal. ANAL. Like the import collectors, but a little tribal and aggressive about what they don't like. Hispanic dbz collectors are insanely laid back, and I don't know why there's so much difference.

Runner up is chinese customers. Not in china, but just customers who are chinese. They are very demanding. They expect more service often than is reasonable, and haggle a lot.
>>
>>5899626

Really? Not GI Joe collectors? Not small horse fans/collectors?

>5. DBZ fans who are not hispanic

...For real? The guys who will try their damnedest in broken English to defend Powerlevels, and create literal OC Super Saiyan forms and characters and age-up characters for no reason? Hispanic DBZ fans are hilariously aggressive at times.

But really though, Asians and a lot of foreigners are hugely jewish, especially if you're trying to sell them something.
>>
>>5899626
Awh man. I'm a transformer collector and I never give anyone shit or anything. Hell i let kids grab toys from my want list if the last one is on the shelf. I only ever chat people up if they talk to me first about it... Like the chick at the local toys r us who talked my ear off about fortress maximus.
>>
>>5899662
I don't do a lot of GI Joe business, and yes, in person, the hispanic dbz collectors act the most normal and relaxed. They always enjoy what they get and they are more apt to enjoy anything vs the other customers who are way more uptight.
>>
>>5899626
Also, just to add, screw NECA and screw Bluefin.

Bluefin treats vendors like crap and can't get things out in a timely manner, and I'm totally sick and tired of NECA sending me boxes of figures where 1/4 of the figures are already broken in the box.
>>
As preteen i would put my D inside toys (that had a big enough hole) and fuck them, once during a truth or dare contest my cousin had to do it with a teddy bear i had already fucked, later he dared me to lick it...

Somehow growing up made me respect my toys more and more over time, which is kindda weird given that i'm quite a pervert.
>>

>>
>>5899698
Which part?
>>
>>5899698
Not sure if you are joking, but if not, I hear about that same cap about bluefin from my local shop owners and one of them had to send back most of his box with some alien figures because they had legs broken off in the box.
>>
>>5899626
How do you feel about 30+ year old collectors of Marvel/DC figures?
>>
>>5899708
Like, about their age?

I don't care at all.

It's not as bad as when I worked with Magic the Gathering stuff at a store, and we'd have to parent 30-40 year old guys from bullying children and being generally unpleasant.

I tried getting into cheaper amerishit figs but after a couple of purchases (Black series and marvel legends) I am done with'em. There are a few okay figures that I like (flametrooper, red guardian, Jango, Kylo) but for the price they go, about 20ish a pop, I am better off spending more on imports---they are just better.

I am also downsizing heavily so not buying a bunch of subpar figures works great.

I don't care about the toys anymore. I've made a lot of progress in my depression and buying toys was an obsession. I stopped buying them, and now I haven't purchased a toy in a long time, and when toys I preorders come in I dont even care anymore.

It feels good.

I often sell opened toys as "mint in sealed box" whenever I can make the box look like I never opened it.

I used to steal random stuff from stores when I was a kid. One time I walked out of Hot Topic with a Joyride Master Chief hidden in my hoodie. I never got caught, but I decided to stop stealing after I watched some kid get escorted out of the very same Hot Topic for stealing.

Another time, I almost made it out of a Rainforest Cafe with some Yu-Gi-Oh stuff; it was like a model of those three robots that combined from the first series. Something didn't feel right, so I decided to stuff the peices between a stack of shirts and bail. Later, I watched a couple employees as they discovered my leftovers.

Having a very annoyed moment. We all know eBay has been shit and gotten worse since they decided to break off Paypal. I won something Sunday morning and with the app paid using gift cards. I checked my account today and they charged my CC attached to Paypal instead. The money is still on the gift cards, but I didn't want to pay for the item with $20 credit. Fucking hell I hate this split up because everything keeps getting messier each month. I used to be able to load my account and buy things without having to keep track of each card and number. They usually get auto blacklisted on the shop I used to go to when I played Yugioh when they are caught scamming kids or people in general and since word travels fast, they tend to get banned at every store in the city so people tend not to do that anymore in the fears of having to travel 50~100km just to play their children's card game.

I am getting back into toys albeit slowly as a twenty eight year old man who is on SSI, because I'm unable to hold a job due to anxiety/stress/panic. This is even with medications. I want to get into Transformers badly, but I feel like I'm robbing others of money and wasting my own by buying toys I might just put on my desk and never "play" with.

I also sold my White Tigerzord, all my Power Rangers and my Red Dragonzord at a yard sale. Between those and giving away my childhood Batman figure collection/Batcave/vehicles, and a pair of boxed Gundam toys I just feel really shitty, but doubly shitty at the thought that I would hold onto toys that other kids without toys would have fun with.

I usually buy all my toys based on the possible resale value

What part and why

I got a second-hand figure in pretty great condition, minus a spec of missing paint on his left shoulder. Since he has a black shirt it stands out a lot even though it was a pretty small defect.

I thought about getting the proper paint and going over it; but I felt like too much of a jew to spend more money on this figure than I already have.

So I grabbed a permanent black marker, tested it on some paper to see how small I could make a dot, let it dry and compare it to his shirt color, and barely tapped it on the white spot.

It worked nearly perfectly. The only way I can even tell there's a different coloration is if I look at it under intense light from above.

I buy cheap Transformers figures, NERF guns and other used toys from the local flea market, get them cleaned up and display them along with my store bought toys. All my G1 figures are from the flea market but when my friends comment that my collection looks like it cost a lot of money I never correct them. Sometimes I get grab bags full of old toys for cheap, sort them out to keep the "good" ones and then sell them on FB groups as "themed" packs, e.g. super heroes, Playmobils, dinosaurs etc.. Whenever anyone asks I just say they're my kid's old unwanted toys.

got any pics of good/unique old toys? wish there was a place to this where I live
>>
I look at the underpants of everything or I check for underpants on everything. I am a girl and I have no idea why I am so interested in finding this out, I have been as long as I can remember and its mainly usa figures/dolls that dont always have them since japan always makes it a point to put them on everything.

If by good/unique you mean vintage then no, I don't collect them due to increased prices and limited play value. Although I have seen several 60's/70's zinc alloy windup toys and toy cars at reasonable prices.

I mostly buy what catches my eye, I got pic related yesterday for 2 Euros just because I thought he looked cool, didn't know he's motorised as well, and slightly collectible too. Most of the 80's/90's action figures are found at sellers speciallizing it that sort of thing but they charge a premium for them (e.g. a loose G1 Rodimus would set me back 20 Euros) but the thrill is at going through piles of mixed toys, looking for that cool 80's/90's figure that the gypsy seller will let you have for 50 cents to 1 Euro per piece. I haven't found anything worth hundreds yet but I have found lots of cool figures that will never be seen outside a specialty shop.

It's just that these flea market outings are not something I'd admit to family and friends... I'm in my late 30s so it would be looked down upon.

That doesn't seem too bad. Do you like underpants in general or do you just look for that added detail in your toys? I theorize that you think it's normal for a toy to have them, since we all wear them too, is that it?

I payed big money to get a Hero Quest game almost complete. Payed some more big money to get the missing figures. Then it took me for like half a year to get 2 firends over to play it. Then they thought it was shitty and I couldn't play it with anyone ever since. TFW they're my only 2 friends. TFW one of them is my ex.
>>
Uhhh.. let's see.

>lived out in the country as a kid
>used to make digsites to play in
>had so many digsites at the time that I ended up losing my favorite figure by burying it
>years later
>Aw shit, I'll look it up on eBay since I loved it so much
>too expensive for muh nostalgia
gdi, somewhere in my parents' 10 acre back yard is this toy

As long as you don't do ChrisChan shit (beg for bill money after you blow your autismbux on lego and transformers) I'm alright. It sounds like you've got it pretty well figured out, though.

I've wondered if there really were gender-reversed versions of guys obsessed with girls' panties. Find something new everyday...

I would totally play Hero Quest with you, if we could find people to play my copy of Talisman with after we finish. Same boat, different game.

I bought some POPs yesterday. Hastings had them 3 for 1 and where else am I going to find a Penelope Pitstop.

Getting someone to sit through an actual entire game of Talisman is difficult in general. Even when I played it with my serious gaming friends, we always end up stopping as soon as someone dies and loses all their stuff.
>>
>>5923913
Talisman is kind of a let down.

The majority of talisman games have one or two players step up as the obvious eventual winners after about 25% of the game is finished, and everyone else then just gets to go through the motions until it's over.

I don't blame people for wanting to drop it, ever really.

Well, I feel less bad about shafting the former owner of a LGS in an auction over it. Managed to snag it for half price, if never ever played because nofriends.

I got a full refund for an amazon order that didn't show up within 48 hours of the package tracker saying it was delivered only to have the package actually show up right after I got the refund.
