One thing that amuses me is normally an alt mode is safer to transport and more compact, he really is more fragile here

Titanium Scourge. He's not the best toy ever, or even the best Scourge ever, but he puts the obligatory diecast to good use, looks good in both modes while being nice and simple for quick conversion. Definitely makes a good Sweep army for Titans Return Scourge or Generations Scourge if you can live with the wildly different alt. Modes.

So I just cracked the box of fruiticus and holy fuck those colors are amazing (thanks to my shit taste) but shockwave here is the real winner

His joints are tighter than both my hasbro shockwaves, I'm digging his action master homage, AND him and 2 hasbro shockwaves make a good fake reflector.

Still, this configuration is a piece of shit, but once its perfect it holds, can't use it as a weapon because its a heavy bitch

I do like the Hasbro's lighter color in robot mode, but the Takara's coloring with the shuttle and train is superior.
The mold would be perfect with the mix of the 2.
I am not sure which version to get. But I am leaning in getting Sentinel also and add more coloring to it.

From the looks of it they are painted, unless the paint is only on the back side (because its grey on one side and it looks like a match to the grey plastic, not easy to do with paint not without a difference in sheen)

But not individually, as in a whole blob of paint.

Really the problem is astrotrain in g1 and MOST shots of real trains (as in older models) have them the same color as the actual train, what I thought takara MIGHT do was paint the little...um line things above them in silver like those bars that move when the steam engines move (I'm not a train expect so I don't know the name).

They've been reissuing the same few ones mixed in with the basic dinosaur-rescans over the year.

I'm still curious just how big these guys are in alt. mode. There haven't been many comparison pictures. I also wanna know where the fuck the boom/ladder go in the robot mode, they seem to disappear completely. I know that they're absent from the G1 animation models, and that's the bible, but the massive hook is such an awesome design element, it's a shame for it to not be utilized on the robot.

As for the ladder it folds into the main body so no parts forming which is good but unless you open him up the ladder is off limits in robot mode.

I'm not attached to either one, but god damn the engineering is amazing, with the only fault being the arms being more visible than they should in truck mode

Just did the bicep mod for Animated Blitzwing. I know that there is also a cannon mod using Generations Octane and a wing mod, but I'm not chopping up another TF just to get articulated cannons.

The only QC issue I've noticed with the Hasbro Astro is the wing holes on top are looser than the Sentinel version.

The Sentinel version had looser joints all around, but not floppy loose, at least, not for me.

The Bayformers stuff actually do have distinct silhouettes and faces; on the Autobots side at least. As far as TF character desig, they're some of the best, where as G1 has some of the worst. Personally, I'd say Armada has the best all around character design for the core cast.

I just got this mold the other day and love it. Gives more of an anime mech feel than a TF feel. the tabs for the shoulders are scary good. like loud snaps good. while the wing tabs don't really stay in completely all the way.

I added some small bits of red with a paint pen and it makes the mold pop more. I loooove the pistols. They don't look off for Starscream, but at the same time they're refreshingly different.

I've seen a few people using skullcruncher's tail thing as a makeshift arm shield by slotting the holes into the croc claws hanging off the arm.holding it in by the gaps the croc claws. How does it look flipped around in the other direction like a mounted gun/melee weapon thing?

Also contemplating picking up Sentinel Trump to go with Ferguson Maximus, but Astrotrain wears the paint and colors so much better. If it had a splash more color breakup and the feet had rockers it would a no brainer.

I like orange but his colors don't do it for me at all. Especially when I'm getting astrotrain which is the same figure but more my liking.

Lion shield is going with alpha trion because they're both lions. Plus he has a sword so it works more for me.

I don't go by the colors. I was going to get Apeface anyways. He just worked great for Galvatron. Brawn is maybe the only one that the folors helped. Plus it's a nice headsculpt.

Hauler would be a pretty great reuse. I wouldn't be surprised if that was why they went for Inferno so early, since most of the other chosen Masterpiece molds have had a few obvious repaint choices. If Tigertrack or Checkpoint can get an MP, then Hauler (who combines a pretty autistic origin, Constructicon colors, and a neat backstory) is pretty much a given.

In the comics he was sort of a leader of the autobots who were left on cybertron after the ark left, I don't think it was ever explicitely stated, and I remember Perceptor being in a authorative role in that story as well, so he might've been the leader.

I read up on it, the straxtus story, Perceptor was in charge, Blaster was never officially made a leader, Grimlock won the initial leadership contest, and when everyone wanted Blaster to be leader, he never got a chance to be, because he had to surrender to grimlock, after that optimus came back.
