Topic to discuss. Is Jay C autistic trying to attach a forearm to a hand?

I'm don't even hate the guy but how you try to put a fucking forearm in a wrist?.

One to keep MIB and store it in an airtight box to keep it away from dust
The rest to keep as an investment incase you need to make money scalping them on ebay.
>>
Damn I see Age of X Cap is $17 over at amazon. If only the rest of the Abomination wave would go that cheap that fast.
>>
>>5886456
>The rest to keep as an investment incase you need to make money scalping them on ebay
Hasbro will do a re-up case of Deadpool and Wolverine like they did with Black Widow and Winter Soldier in the Mandroid wave. Have fun with your $20 figures that you wasted your time stockpiling.
>>

>>
>>5886508
There isn't anyone I would recommend anymore. No one alive, anymore.

Maybe it is best to read the articles by him on Toy News. Beats hearing from the neanderthal.
>>
>>5886514
>>5886508
Wait there is a channel called Toy Galaxy on youtube. They did the Juggernaut wave not too long ago and they were pretty short and sweet.
They do a lot of real retro toys too.
I think its pretty comfy. The host isn't a tool or deadpan either. That is a plus.
>>
What do you guys like/dislike most in video reviews?
>>
>>5886520

>>5886455
Probably early next year, maybe late this year if we're lucky.
>>
>>5886520
Motherfuckers spending too much time on the packaging is bad
Comparison to older/different versions of the character is good
>>
>>5886519
Ooh, that's a good one. I actually love their channel, although it kind of shows that there's two different types of content for toy reviews. Stuff like toy galaxy is straight up entertainment. They don't really go over articulation in depth like I usually expect, but they're scripted and, again, actually entertaining. I'll watch one of their videos for stuff I'm not even into because I'll almost always get a chuckle out of it. I don't watch their stuff to decide if I'm gonna buy something or not, because they rarely review all the figures in a given wave.

Jay c and shartimus do, though, so they're where I go when I want to see something about a toy I actually have or am looking to buy. Articulation, paint, etc are tend to be the deciding factors then, and that's basically all I need to see. Show me how far generic spandex man #145 can kick, and I'm good to go. You could literally mute the video and get what you need out of it.

On that note, legends actually ended up fairly lucky, as there's several competent people who do this style. I rarely watch videos on stuff like transformers anymore because I can't tolerate anyone who actually does most of the releases. Stuff like sentinel is a ghost town.
>>
>>5885693
Is this guy for real? lol. I'll wait for Glenn to put up his reviews for this wave.
>>
>>5886429
It's called capitalism and Supply and Demand. People see a need and scoop up as much as they can and people are retarded enough to pay the high price. It sucks if your country doesn't have a readily accessible online shop that sells it for retail price or a ghetto Walgreens that no one goes to and have all the exclusive figs just collecting dust.
>>
>>5886619

Found a large stash of Falcons and Buckys at an out-of-the-way Walmart today. They even had the Giant Man wave (minus Fury and BP). Falcon is almost nice. His arms are way too skinny, and the paint and plastic is pretty drab. Might be my first try at panel lining or doing a wash.
>>
>>5886668
>Might be my first try at panel lining or doing a wash.

Post pics if you do. I was thinking about it but I have zero skill when it comes to painting stuff. And did you grab bucky? I kinda wanted him, but I figured he'd be the less popular of the two so I could pick one up easy later on.
>>
>>5886700
I left Bucky. There was too much not to like about it. The head looks too large and Frankensteiny. The rest of the body (besides the torso) is all reused from the first version. And the accessories look like they were just popped out of a Demolition Man package.

Even this Falcon has some trappings of being someone's first go at a ML. Something about the proportions (thick waist, skinny arms, thighs too short, shins too long) and the articulation (chest barely moves and is very blocky, feet don't have a good "rest" point for standing, knees are too high, hip sockets are super huge) makes me think that it was someone who used to work on Mattel stuff.
>>
>>5886716
I agree he's definitely clunky in a lot of places, but I get the feeling that a lot of work went into him. Almost like the person in charge of him really did give a damn, but also maybe wasn't that experienced. He's still probably one of my favorite legends of the year, neck and neck with some of the x-men who coincidentally I've also been wanting for ages.
>>
>>5886668
I hate how the color of the torso, but he's probably going to be the only Falcon (comic or movie) for a while. ;_;
>>
>>5886839

>>
>>5886430

>>
>>5886429

Scalpers work best in high volume. I see stuff at stores that go for 30 bucks online, but I got to spend 20 bucks and hassle and shit, for 10 dollars. However if I could buy 10-20 figures and move more volume it becomes more profit. No one makes decent money scalping 1-2 figures every 2-3 months. They make it scalping entire waves and lots of hot figures that go for 40-60.

I found a Deadpool at Target today. Saw most of that wave, actually.

Looks like someone either intentionally damaged the tops of the boxes so scalpers wouldn't get them, or some employee sat on the case during break or something.
>>
>>5888307
A friend of mine who is a Toy maneger at the local walmart has been doing that to ever case of ML or Black series to fight the neckbeard scalpers.

She has this drawing of a neckbeard stereotype, any one who comes in and looks like this she plays stupid and has gotten at least two truck unloader fired for selling cases off the line and getting a kickback.

The local scalper has been baby raging in the isles .>>5886504 this guy acts a lot like him. He looks greasy last time I was in to take my friend to lunch.

>>

>The price hike in the last few years also scared off a few people.
It's not even that I can't pay for MLs but they aren't worth retail. Call my taste shit but transformers are at least worth the 15 dollars they can get discounted to.

Maybe they could stop using bubblegum for the elbows and knees.
>>
Is there anything I can do about loose mushroom pegs on BAFs? The left legs on my rhino and onslaught keep falling off.
>>
>>5888402
I agree with this. I've been cooling off on ML since I can't find new waves for months after release. Beyond Taskmaster, I haven't bought a new figure in store since the Age of Ultron wave, for fuck sakes. Sure, there are lots of figures Id still like to buy, but I'd never pay more than $30 for a ML, because they are absolutely not worth that. That's how much SHFs cost just a couple short years ago, and the quality between the two is not even close. And I got out of Japshit because those tiny-dick faggots started asking way more than their figures are worth. I'm not even a poorfag, it's just frustrating.
>>
>>5888470

Honestly, I just don't think any 6" figures from any companies are worth the $20 asking price anymore.

Lack of QC across the board
Lack of accessories across the board
Weird articulation choices sometimes
Blah plastics used in a lot of cases
Sloppy paintwork more often than not
A handful of bodies used over and over again
etc.
>>
>>5888307
How much damage are we talking? Half my Juggernaut wave had the boxtops bent over straight out of the case. Seems to just be the standard now.
>>
>>5888525

Pretty much the same. The flaps/peg hanger area were all wrinkled and bent, and the cardboard area on top of the plastic window was also kind of roughed up.

Every figure in this wave I saw was like this at this particular Target.

>>
Just got some Space Venom wave figures from dorkside. Apparently my Black Panther wasn't included because they haven't got any on their end and are waiting on hasbro to clear up when they'd get more.

The figma is overpriced, no figuarts yet, there's a revo coming out in December, but it'll be hard to get a hold of due to licensing restrictions on comic characters from a nondomestic company

Almost any hands will work, if you're willing to shave or sand down pegs to fit.

I replaced CapWolf's hands with fists from Pizza Spidey. Used nail polish remover to remove the webbing from Spidey's fists first.

I used a file to file down the pegs on Spidey's wrists, and they were good to go for Cap'n Murrikkka.

You can tell by his voice and face that there's something wrong with him, no need to keep questioning. The best part of it is the ball jointed torso, desu. Having lateral movement counts for a lot with comic figures, since they should be dynamic. If they'd adapt something like the 12" Spidey torso joints down to 6" scale they could probably do a hell of a lot with it.

Originally Wolverine is a very short of stature, but if you compare the first model of Marvel Legends Toybiz with the current really a big difference

The owners of the new version of Cable I ask for your opinion; worth acquiring the figure?

Select has, for years, and they're great. When they incorporate the ball joint AND the disk hinge into the torso, it's fucking crazy.

If they put effort into (I know, I know) like Toy Biz did with ML4 Beast, they can get better range from a single joint than they could with a double joint on such large arms. When you double joint super large arms, even the hinge aspect of the double joint pushes the forearms further against the lower bicep and reduces ROM. The trick is a large hinge disk and a deep divot in the forearm surrounding it that allows room for the bicep to sink in.

Will post pics later once I get off work. The paint aps for Silk are fantastic, especially on her hair, but I'm not a fan of the blueish gray in her hair.
The range of movement for the teen bodies really surprised me, and I was also surprised how much I liked Electro.
Biggest disappointment is hobgoblin's face. I'm either going to try and paint the red eyes bigger, or see what the hobgoblin BAF head looks like on him.
Space knight barely has any head movement which kind of sucks.

Since January of this year, when the Absorbing Man wave first hit, I had only seen Venom ONCE. When the first batch of AM cases were put out and I didn't buy him, because I was out of work and didn't have the cash to get him. The guy (along with Spider-Gwen) were grabbed up almost immediately and every time another case of the AM wave was put out, Venom was grabbed up by scalpers.

Well, they put out another box today (as my Wal-Mart apparently decided to over order said AM wave and hasn't gotten a single new Spider-Man wave since) and I lucked the fuck out and found me a Venom that hadn't been grabbed by the scalper set.

That said; I was horribly disappointed that thye gave him THREE fucking heads (two Absorbing Man heads and one tongue head) and NO Eddie Brock unmasked head. So I decided to donate Hyperion's head to Venom so I can have an unmasked Venom!!!!

What does your chain of command say when they inspect your room?
>>
>>5892699
It's just a college dorm so only friends actually go inside my room but everyone thinks it's cool and whenever someone talks about hobbies or interests they always go "have you seen anons room yet", I have a lot of things for anyone to enjoy here

> Even qualifying as a spidey figure

My problem with him is that, at least on mine, his joints are super tight, to a fault, and it makes posing him in anything other than a standing up pose nearly impossible. Really excited for green Fist though.

Ladies first. Spider-bitch is the most boring since she has zero accessories, and you can't really do much with her. Like I said before, the blueish gray in Silk's hair is really annoying, but other than that, the paint aps are on point.

Gwen's articulation is really bad at her mid section though. It barely moves whatsoever. The other girl's aren't a whole lot better, but they're better than her.

Crap, just looked at the time, I can't actually review the rest right now.

To sum it up quick: I'm really happy with most of them, biggest disappointments are Hobgoblin's face, Spider-bitch's lack of accessories, and Gwen's lack of chest movement, and I have never had more trouble switching hands than I have with Peter. Felt like I was gonna rip his arms off.
>>
>>5893150
Anya would fit in better with that group than spider bitch, not that she was ever actually in any stores as far as I could tell.

>>5892657

The contrast between qualities here is pretty jarring.

I mean more than usual since that bruce pose hides the knobby elbows and ab cut. Also no macro on the hair line helps.

Plus that Bullseye mold has the awful fucking thick neck and blocky sculpt that no one ever seems to mention
>>
>>5893232
Seriously, there's a reason why that body was retired after Iron Fist. It's not even the Bullseye body at that point, but some lesser, weird, worn down version of it. Idk why anyone would get worked up over that of all things.

Found this at wal-mart today. The Cap box was missing, which would leave me to believe the poorfag that stole Venom either disposed of the box or bought Venom in the Cap box for some reason.
I needed Giant-Man's helmet anyway, so whatever.

Anyone have the sdcc Raft Spidey, and no if the head looks good on pizza Spidey?

I'm thinking of getting one, but prefer the lighter blue used on pizza Spidey, so I want to headswap, but I'm not sure if the shades of red are the same.
>>
>>5893525

>>
>>5893483
Or they bought venom and returned their own cap
>>
>>5893579
why return the BAF piece tho
>>
>>5893525
Since it's exactly the same figure minus I think some fixed hip joints or something, yeah it looks fine to headswap either figure.
There are reviews out there where people do that if you wanna see how it looks.

Silver sharpie. I'll pick up something to seal it next time I go the home depot or whatever.

True Heroes is a great source for weapons.

If you have a Big Lots or similar closeout store near try them also. Big Lots carry a GIJoe ripoff line that actually sells accessory packs. Last fall my Big Lots got a bunch of stuff for the Christmas holiday season. The accessory packs were like $5 and they came with about 10 weapons. It was a great deal.

i think he's the best figure out of that whole wave. Black Panther was alright but i sold mine because he was kind of loose so i just put the money towards the SHF Version
>>
>>5894015
also the Figuarts Antman would look way better next to the Hot Toys Civil War Antman but id rather spend my money on other shit
>>
>>5894019
Oh hey, the dormammu wave is on amazon now. I swear it wasn't there yesterday. FYI for people with prime who want to save shipping.
>>
>>5894015
I think he looks alright, but he doesn't seem big enough. Giant man's one job is to be big, and he doesn't look like he pulls it off enough. Maybe he'd be better in person, but I don't feel like hunting down the other pieces.

>>5894019
I was sort of thinking about that, but yeah he's way too much money for a gimmick.

>>5894024
holy shit, thanks. Snagged an Iron fist and I'm done with that wave.
>>
>>5894019
I own the Hot Toys and while its decent the light gimmick sucks major ass.
>>
>>5894037
Got IF, Nico, and enchantress. I'm still laughing at all those poor suckers who over paid for the parted out sdcc version of her.
>>
>>5894037
I've almost finished him, just missing Cap/his head, and I think he's alright, pretty fun and while his size could be a bit bigger and can put people off, I feel like he's worth it, as the figure is a fun one and if you have any 3 3/4 or Marvel Universe figures, he'll fit in perfectly.
But yeah, for the 6 inch figures and the like, he could be a bit bigger.
>>
>>5893623
That's not how feet work though

Well integrated toe joints are awesome

I guess I'll post the rest of my pictures.

Like I said, Hobgoblin is really great aside from his face. It's not terrible, but those small eyes bring it down a lot. Even painting them slightly bigger with red would probably help a ton.
Some people think the glider is a little small, but I don't really mind that much. The scales on his arms and legs look great though, as does the demogoblin head.

Electro's mask is a little big for me, but other than that, I really love this figure, even if it is just the pizza Spidey body. I do think he should have at least one pair of alternate hands, but it doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would.

Peter is a little cross eyed, and Mile's eyes are a little messy, but I'm probably barely going to be using those heads anyway.

Venom's head is crazy restricted in its movement, and his hands have almost no movement other than rotation. Other than that, he's pretty similar to Rhino. Little loose at the torso.

The teen bodies are nice, and the torso is very snappy. The legs have a ton of movement, though the thigh and calf swivels are a tad looser than I'd prefer. The shoulders are obviously not as good as pizza Spidey, but they're still pretty decent.

Forgot to mention, I have never had more trouble switching hands out than I had with Peter. Especially the web shooting hands. Felt like I was gonna break him. Had to use a tool to get them off the first time.

Have anyone here tried to sell off ML shelfwarmers on BST? How easy is it to sell them for say $15 a piece?

I just want fucking Dormammu, Enchantress, and maybe the Goth girl. Gonna try to offload the rest but can't be bothered with getting jewed by Ebay
>>
>>5894649
I tried with the hulkbuster wave, absolutely no one would buy the women or iron man. You're probably gonna end up stuck with a handfull of dr. strange repaints.
>>
>>5894651
proof that /toy/ is made up of liars who says they'd buy female toys.

Toy companies should just stick to white males who aren't crippled, bearded, or transexual, instead of pandering to the two people on /toy/ who want to hot glue their female figures.
>>
>>5894661
It has to be a, you know good figure like rogue. No one is going to buy a shit figure.
>>
>>5894651
Thanks for sharing your experience buddy. Probably just gonna hit up ebay for Dormammu then

>>5894661
>Toy companies should just stick to white males who aren't crippled, bearded, or transexual

/pol/ pls go.
Maybe it's because the female in Hulkbuster wave were literally whos? Habsro is more interested in chugging out retooled literally whos because they're cheap rather than making fan requested character.

How come Spider Gwen, Silk, Jim Lee Rogue, were all hard as fuck to find in stores and getting scalped online? How come my local stores is still full of Blizzards, Eels, and other literally whos lazy bucky cap retools? (granted Sharon Carter, Misty Knights, Fem Beetles and White Tigers are there too).

Maybe it's about making actual character that people want, rather than chugging lazy retools
>>
>>5894661
I don't know many people who would buy a figure who most bought for the baf without the baf piece for a slight discount when they could easily tell that it'd be cheaper within 2 months.
>>
>>5894698
>it'd be cheaper within 2 months
More like it'd be cheaper within 8 months (Legends doesn't come down in price that fast, my local store is still trying to sell Misty Knights MSRP) with 50% chance of the popular character in the line ballooned up to $35-40 range
>>
>>5894711
Half the giant man wave is around 15 dollars on walmart/amazon right now. I also didn't say anything about the popular characters. He mentioned shelf warmers.
