I carefully exactoed off Scourge's official knees and swapped his hips so he could have light blue boots. I prefer to both stock Hasbro and Takara. Plus, swilling his hips actually made mine's nose tab together better. I may look at grafting the knee spikes onto the new front of the legs, dunno yet.

That's the trouble with killing off so many of the characters - they never get a chance at a second toy. Look at how Optimus and Bee toys improved from 07 to ROTF, now imagine if they'd made new Blackout and Bonecrushers. More than any other line, it feels like they often need a second shot at characters to make a fantastic toy. I imagine a part of it is that often the toys are made off of in-process concept art, and thus we often get toys inaccurate to the final in-film design.

For those interested, my shapeways order just arrived.
Ordered a bunch of them during the week with free shipping.

I got
the wing things/gun for CW Hod rod and Runabout
5mm peg pistol X4
the cannon for TR Megatron
4mm peg (with 5 mm on the top) pistol for classic Hot rod
Cannon for the old legend Brown Megatron
Cannon clip and G1 helmet for TR galvatron

They all turn out pretty well aside from some white spots where you have to cut the parts from each other.It appears colors in 3d printing are coated later after the item is built.

The only one that gave me some issue is the TR Galvatron cannon clip. The peg is a bit too big for the hole on the arm, and forcing it well stress the plastic. The hole for the cannon is too tight, it wrapped cannon's peg at the top a bit.
I ended up shaven them all down and use nail polish to thicken some over shaven parts.

I have a headcanon for them- they're not actually the REAL Liokaiser (who has been missing for centuries) but rather an "impostor" team assembled by Megatron to use as a terror weapon ("Oh no, it's Liokaiser, the greatest combiner ever! I was actually planning on getting them and doing a touch of customization to them (so Shapeways heads and weapons and a bit of airbrush work) and making them into new characters.

I like headmasters, I'd just like the quality of the titan masters to be a little better. They aren't bad but if the head is the focus of the figure I think a bit more effort should be put into it, like more detail and maybe more articulation than a g1 brick.

I understand what you mean about the head reveal though. I don't care about it too much in transformers but in bionicle when they stopped having putting on the mask as the final step it just ruined the fun of building the figure in a way. I'm happy if there's just a good way to store a headmaster in the vehicle mode, that satisfies me enough.

Got my first Titans Return toy today.
Itty bitty Terri-Bull with his itty bitty Terri-tank. I didn't realize how small these headmasters were until now.

They had the rest of the wave but he's the only one that caught my eye. As well as Blurr and Scourge but I'd like to see a chart or something comparing Hasbro and Takara before I get any deluxes or voyagers.

I think the price on Ginrai was due to the remolded parts, I don't think that's the new leader pricepoint over there. I'm pretty sure we've seen Blaster's price and it's the usual Takara leader price.

Yeah, it just ain't worth it. Shit, $30 for a Deluxe is usually not worth it, except in very rare cases.

Agreed. The Takara fembots were justifiable since they were completely different characters, and if Scourge or maybe Blurr become readily available I might pick them up, but but no way is it worth dropping $35 on a Hardhead with an uglier head and the same deco.

Those prices on Leaders are just ludicrous.

Yeah, those are a few of the cases. I do want Scourge and Blur, they're the only TR Deluxes Takara improved on VS the Hasbro versions.

I'm hating trying to find the damn things though. The other Legends releases weren't this much of a bastard to nab.

Agreed. I'm okay with my Hasbro Blurr but I'd like to pick up a TAK Scourge. There's no use in trying to get one right now, though- it'll be like when Arcee was in high demand.

Best to wait for a while and see if they become readily available again.
