$70 for a bootleg Super Star Destroyer is GLORIOUS
Doesn't stop it from being a disappointing as fuck build.
How is it disappointing?
>>5876664
It's repetitive as fuck and so shallow. Compared to any other UCS set its clearly the most basic shit I've ever built and there is no satisfaction in the simplicity of it all. Especially for anyone who has built the original UCS Star Destroyer set.
Wow, didn't know a bootleg exists. Hows the quality of the bricks? Which company is this?
Is this lepin or bricklinked?
>>5878331
lepin
>>5878331
The only bootleg pieces on cracklink are accidents.
>>5876650
I wonder if bootleg bricks can hold the weight.
>>5876661
THIS
>>5876661
It's a huge grey triangle. How interesting could it possibly be?
>>5876650
How is the quality and when will they do the UCS Falcon? That thing needs a bootleg so fucking bad with 1200$+ prices.

Bloody good value if you ask me, considering the real thing has single pieces worth more than this.
>>5882202
Are these also available on a site that allows Paypal?
>>5882214
Best off looking at reviews for that
IMO, not great. If it's an older set like the UCS Falcon and you want it to fit in with other lego, the real figures are fairly cheap anyway. For this, I'm not sure.
If you don't have other lego or just not bothered, then they're probably okay.

I just got the bootleg Lepin Millenium Falcon for 40 dollars (it is a copy of the $150 Ep VII set). The set itself is well done and snaps together nicely. They do not sort the pieces for you like Lego does so I had to open up all the bags and deal with 1300 pieces but other than finding the piece I needed, the directions were all there and it looks damn good.
The minifigs though are another story...of the 5 or 6 that came with the set it is a mixed bag. Rey had an anime like face. Han Solo had slightly the wrong shade of arm, and the bad guys had the wrong hairstyles.
>>5885294
It's funny. Maybe it's because I've built Lego since before they ever sorted pieces, and when I was very young, but I've always preferred building this way.
Hell, as far as I remember, 10188 Death Star didn't come in sorted bags, and I managed that eventually.
>>5885320
Oh, I remember growing up the same way. It was always interesting to try and put together some of the larger sets as a young me and trying to figure just where the hell each piece was.
The LEPIN direction book though has the pieces sorted in bags because it is a copy of the Lego book, so I was just giving a heads up for those who were not used to having to keep track of everything at once.
70 for a bootleg. lol.
>>5885615
70 for a bootleg of comparable quality to a $400 set (now about double on eBay)
>>5885599
Like little me would have followed something as simple as keeping pieces in their proper tray. I dumped that stuff out all over the damn place.
Just bought this "LEPIN" bootleg. Anyone here built this set before?
150USD for a new (fake) set going for 1000USD+ (used) on ebay.
>>5888319
>UCS Falcon going for $1000
Maybe if it was chewed on by a dog, covered in cat piss in a smoker's house.
I sold my used one for nearly $4,000 several months ago, without the box too, but my instructions and pieces were in near perfect condition.
Lepin town hall, they did a very good job
>>5888319
The brick quality is amazing, the minifigs are garbage tier though. Though I assume most people aren't buying these sets for the minifigs anyway.
>>5876650
Man I wish bandai or someone made large model kits for the ships like these. These look good but i just don't like displaying legos.
>>5892210
>Man I wish bandai or someone made large model kits for the ships like these.
Bandai actually showed off an amazing large scale star destroyer kit with a full LED light set back in 2014 tokyo toy show (pic related).......
...then never released it & dont seem to mention its existence anymore.
>>5888546
Shit, if these modulars are of enough good quality as the regulars, I'd shell out 100 bucks to get a Green Grocer or Fire Brigade. I mean, I like the prestige and dependability of getting sets that are properly Lego, but the aftermarket on those guys is fucking ridiculous.
They dont appear to make one of the regular Star Destroyers? That's a shame
>>5876650
Fuck
I thought I was done spending money on lego, but this Lepin stuff really seems to be quality
I'm of two minds of this.
One, bootlegs of current stuff is just going to lead to some dumb parent getting lead poisoned kids because they wanted to save money, and crack down on all of this, so Lepin should be more careful about selling those. Sure, they have no reason to, but all it takes is one dumbass to ruin it for everyone.
On the other hand, for discontinued sets, especially if you let people know 'hey this isn't actually Lego proper', and people don't care and just would rather spend less on old sets than they do on rent... yeah I see no problem with doing it. Why the fuck would I want to buy a Lego Carousel for 3000 dollars, especially if none of that money's going to the people who made it but rather to one hoarder in Florida, or just send 80 bucks to China for a near-genuine article? And yeah, that could be a scam too, but it's easier to justify rolling the dice on 80 bucks than 3000.
>>5892570
Damn that's too bad, i'd buy the shit out of that, same with a falcon that size.
Really tempted to get some of the ninja stuff Lepin makes. No interest in the figures, but I like the little oriental buildings
>>5892959
I know this is slightly different but I saw mr gold being sold for 6k AUD
>>5892959
I agree
Only purist autists care
I mean, nothing beats the real thing, but for a heavy discount its easy to deal with it
>>5892959
Do bootlegs seriously have lead in them?
Lead in paints helps drying and durability but why would legos have them?
>>5898591
He is an idiot. They don't have lead in them, maybe I could see lead in things that actually have paint apps but not molded plastic blocks.
>>5876650
How much was shipping? Must have been at least another $70.
>>5898913
not OP but shipping can be anywhere between free and SHIT ton expensive. You have search a couple of different sellers.
The most reasonable ones are between free and like 15 dollars.

How's long shipping usually take?
People paying 70 usd for bootlegs.
Why?????
>>5906497
Because the alternative has aftermarket prices equivalent to buying high-quality meth.
>>5906438
Shipping can take anywhere from 10 days to a month depending on shipping method.
