Accidentally posted this on the old thread, didn't catch the new one right away:

Anybody else having flimsiness problems with Ultron's shoulders? Would you recommend just locking the movement of the first ball (the one that goes to the torso) shut with super glue to improve stability?

Also, any tips on handling that nightmare of a hip joint system would be much appreciated.
>>
>>5872040
Ultron is pretty massive for a revo, and the joints they use for the shoulders weren't really made to support arms as large as his. I can see where you're going, but I think actually gluing them is a bad idea though. Maybe try something non permanent first like floor polish?

The hips are straight up take it or leave it. They bug the fuck out of me, but I've long since stockholm'd into dealing with it.
>>
>>5872040
pry that one apart and stick some paper in there to gum up the ratchet.
>>
>>5872046
>Maybe try something non permanent first like floor polish?
Yeah, I think I'll go ahead and try that. Kaiyodo really should've engineered new, stronger joints for this section, though.

>The hips are straight up take it or leave it.
That's what I was afraid of. Oh well.

Thanks for the answers! Man, Ultron epitomizes my love-hate relationship with Revoltech. A seriously kickass rendition of a character, marred by even more serious issues.
>>
I don't know, he's starting to show the typical signs of a Revo Iron Man, sculpt is very soft/mushy and the joint segmentation is even more pronounced as the 45 is supposed to be super sleek.
>>
>>5872297
Glad I passed on him then. He looked promising as hell too. I assume the mushy look is down to the paint.

so honest question, why do ya'll like Revoltech so much?
I've bought 3 Revos in the past few years and I've nearly hated all of them.
The first one I got was Revo DMC3 Dante, it looks goofy as fuck and the joints are a weird mix of squishy and clicky.

Then I got Iron Man 2 War Machine.

The guy cannot balance without a stand, and again the joints just feel "off" Like I couldnt really pose him the way I wanted too. Goofy as fuck looking unless you put him into a "dynamic" pose and then only looked at it from a certain angle.

Then I got the Monster Hunter Swordsman Jinoh figure and again, not feeling it. hard to pose, or to get standing or to get it not look goofy.

Am I missing something about revos? Cause they look nice AF
>>
>>5873298
I'm fucking with ya man. I always buy revos of stuff i like, but every time i open the box or touch those revos, parts fly everywhere, paint app is shit and they look fucking goofy half the time.

>so honest question, why do ya'll like Revoltech so much?

Because I've never had a problem with them outside of one figure having a stuck peg that took a drill to get out, they've got super good articulation which I highly value, and they're pretty well made.

I own most of the QB Revo's, Snake, Raiden, and a bunch of various robot Revo's. Shit's glorious.
>>
>>5873880

Books, a figma Satsuki & Ryuko, bunch of Transformers both 3P and official, some Daibadi stuff, and any useless junk/accessories/hats/whatever. Just general purpose shelves I toss all my stuff on when I don't have it on my desk/dresser/any other display point. Like most people my shelves are for display, or for stacking stuff I don't have on display
>>
Do the TSFs hold up? Unfortunately, my local store only has the first two which they seem to have restocked in their website. The few times I went to the actual nearest physical store (since 2013) there was always a Takemikazuchi.
>>
>>5874072
Yeah they're fine. Pretty standard joints configuration, has revo joints for shoulders and hips so no need to worry about weird articulation. Knees are just a simple, non-revo hinges.

The peg for the double joints for the booster jets might be tight so you would need to loosen the grip on your own.

Otherwise, has good sculpt and play value, just don't pay too much since they are pretty easy to find online for cheap.

I really dont know what to do here
with takeya's stuff l always went with the rust version, looked better most of the times and it's better as a whole
but this guy doesnt look colorful enough to look bad with the others

and buying two would be raping my wallet too much

Yeah, that's what I'm looking for. Thanks. Was actually looking for Eva-01 but the RDs and Revos never seem to be available. There's Vic Viper too.

It's wierd because I have no attachments to their respective franchises. But damn I want to fiddle with them.

You've made a mistake.

I would go colour though seriously. The promo photos never do them justice.
>>
>>5875080
no, l haven't
l prefer the dark tones of the rust ones, that look like living statues, rather than the too much colorful ones.
l've seen em both in stores before buying, anf l still dont like those colored dragon and kirin (nor the skeletons, joints just look horrible to me)

but this guy's colored version looks dark enough..
l guess l'll wait till they're both out to make a choice
>>
>>5873880
>Because I've never had a problem with them
well, i wish I didnt have that problem.

I wanted to like them so much, (which is why I bought 3) (( with enough time between them, because I figured myself it'll just improve more ))

but yeah, i hate the squishy and clicky joints and the goofy posing and just nearly everything I mentioned.

but I'm glad to know it's a ME thing. because clearly people like them, i thought I was going insane
>>
>>5871422
Sakamoto doesn't look cool, he looks...goofy. The sculpt really hurts him, he's too thin and his limbs are too long. None of the show-poses in the 2ch thread look very good at all (although it could just be shitty posing). Kinda disappointing.
>>
>>5875163

Well, to be fair, Dante was one of the first Revo's, and not very good even for his time. Dunno about Iron Man, I don't like Cap'n Alcoholic so I've got no idea what could be wrong, and I own the Zinogre Hunter myself. He is a little bit harder to mess with than most because he's fiddly with the armor plates and for some fucked up reason has peg hands instead of revo jointed ones, but he's still pretty easy to get into decent poses.

The coloured ones are meant to look like painted wood carvings while the rust ones are meant look like iron statues like Jizai Okimonos original work. As much as the rusts are true to the source material I feel half of them look like shit in hand with blotchy paint jobs that look like someone just spray painted them and rolled em in dirt. That being said the rust Samurai Skeleton does look great in hand compared to the other rust's I've seen in person though I like the coloured's armor better.

It's all subjective though. I'm hoping they do an Ohmu as well but if they dont I can always get the statue.
>>
>>5875469
l admit they could have done a better job with the paint, but l may have been lucky, but all of mine, while not perfect, don't look as bad as some pictures l've seen.

Ardjet is cool, but the manner in which they fastened the wings to the body and then the stand to the wings can be frustrating; if you've got the wings on, the stand has to connect to the wings, which makes weight distribution weird.

The best ones are the Jehutys, which are a blast to pose and just look fantastic all around.

Anubis is great, but his price has appreciated a great deal beyond his list price. Looks fantastic, but it can be awkward to pose; the wing bits can be a real pain to get perfectly aligned.

The Vic Viper is also looks fantastic, but can be very fiddly because it's a transformer.
>>
>>5877538
oh cool. maybe I will pass it onto BST.
I've never shipped stuff before so idk. look out
>>
>>5878300

I own Ardjet, Vic Viper, ZOE2 Jehuty, and Anubis .I think they're worth it. They're about as poseable as you'd expect from revo's, and last I saw both Ardjet and the VV were cheap as fuck. Anubis is a bit costly nowadays though, probably because of his big-ass wings making him more expensive initially, and then the price going up from there.

What >>5878319 said is true though, they did Ardjet's stand in a very funky way. You might want to just invest in a different stand or something for her.
>>

>>
>>5875084
Hey I'm in the same boat. I collected the four divine kings in wood grain color and the Jizai Okimono all in Rust. They look great and I prefer these since they are more authentic/nostalgic to me. At the japanese temples, most of the statues had lost their paint unless they were properly shaded or indoors and the Jizai Okimono were often made with iron without paint anyway.

Source validity: I'm Japanese... that's about it.
>>
>>5878319
Completely agree with this about ardjet. She often looks great without the wings altogether. She also quite small compared to a lot of revoltechs, just as a fair warning. I got her for like 7 bucks so I just grabbed it.

So I was looking at my Revoltech Woody today and notice something that stood out, is his hat not suppose to be symmetrical?

Like it doesn't have a perfect "bowl" shape, the left side sticks up more than the right, and it's much more noticeable looking at it from the back where it starts to curve upwards.

Does anybody else have this or has the material just started wearing down over the years? It fell down once when I was away and Woody was laying on top of the hat while wearing it, so that may have caused a wear sag, but either way it's driving me nuts (but not sure if "pay for the same figure" again nuts)

I just got this thing the other day as an impulse item. Never owned a Revo before. Are they all this fiddly and difficult to move (yes, I'm used to the kiddie Hasbro stuff).

Don't know what to do with it at this point, but it'll probably go in the BST.

Depends on the figure. Revo's aren't that hard to figure out though, it's not rocket science. You rip off the limb and turn the joint, then put the limb back on if you're having trouble.
>>
>>5890186
Figuring out how to work it isn't the problem, it's that there's not really instant gratification in moving it around. I had wanted to try out some Assemble Borgs, but I think my first time with Revos soured me.

How is the paint in comparison to the usual Revo offering? Still looks somewhat thick, materials better quality?

Got to be something to the price besides it been a collab.
>>
>>5894305
The plastic is more solid than revos, it doesnt have that very slight "gummy" feel. The paint is pretty much the same, but there's alot of it, there's even paint detail underneath his shoulder pads, and the insides of his elbows.

Speaking of the paint...it caused me issues that i never faced before with revoltech. When I got baikanfu, he couldnt turn his head, because the peg hole for the revo joint was painted, making the hole too thick. easily fixable tho.

What wasnt easily fixable was one of his hinged shoulder joints, both the peg and hole were painted, so when i moved it, it snapped off. had to slice open his shoulder and drill a new peg inside.

moral of the story: give your toys some time under a hair dryer, then carefully loosen the joints..

>Am I missing something about revos?

No, that's more or less my experience with them as well, though I'd add that they're also prone to plasticizer leakage on top of everything else.
>>
>>5873298
Most people I see who don't like them or say "Revoltechs are hard to pose" don't pose their figures well in the first place. They're happy with really static poses (or simple poses), while Revos are usually designed to be in really dynamic poses. See: everything on Yamaguchi's twitter

Interestingly, I'm surprised you think the majority here likes them. They were looked upon favorably here a long time ago with the market had less to offer, but over time I see more and more users on /toy/ posting about how they hate them. I also see more and more pictures of shelf displays with a bunch of straight legged Marvel Legends, characters holding swords the wrong way and buckling their knees in a sword fight, etc.

>Got to be something to the price besides it been a collab.
Being Sentinel has pretty much nothing to do with price...

It's still Union Creative releasing it, Sentinel is part of the companies they distribute for just like Kaiyodo.

With Goshogun, the reasoning was inflation in general, and the number of parts and paints were double that of regular Revos apparently. That sculptor wasn't used to keeping such things low to save cost I guess. Actual Sentinel figures are expensive because it has so many moving parts and are of higher quality for a smaller company with lower number of production. The VLs they sculpt are not like that.

I think the mecha VulcanLogs too are lower in number compared to the others like MH or YuGgOh so that drove up the pricing. Kaiyodo would not have made such distinctions with their robot Revos but I think UC isn't so keen on having an universal pricing despite how many they are making. Maybe if they pick a robot that would sell better the pricing would not be so high, but they are sticking to pretty niche selection.
>>
>>5894803
i think the selling point is sentinel's sculpt+ revoltech engineering

>>5895016

No one's gonna post anything cause no matter what, you're gonna shit on it cause you're butthurt that you may be one of those that suck
>>
>>5895514
I see a lot of these posts in the occasional display thread and I'm genuinely curious about them, in the sense that I thought I had it figured out, but that might not be the case.

I can accept sucking if I can understand WHY, I just want the guy to post pictures of his collection since he seems to have an idea of what posing should be, pointing out buckling knees, holding weapons improperly, straight legs etc. as in there's clearly substance in what he's saying.

I'm not looking at this from the perspective of a butthurt poster (though somebody could piggyback on my posts just to shit him) but I would like it more if people took responsibility for their statements on the quality of collecting in this board, a visual example goes a long way, otherwise you're just saying "everybody's doing it wrong" without much help.
>>
>>5895016
What's wrong with knee buckling? I like doing it cause it keeps a figure from tipping over without a stand.

I think he was saying that the general complaints been about Revos been hard to pose come from people who don't like the type of dynamic poses that Yamaguchi does and a lot of Revo collectors like.

Basically he feels the complaints come more frequently from the type of people who want to be able to pose their figures in a more neutral position like stood up straight with not much bend to the knees. (I'm not saying that the people who want that are incorrect) and don't accept that Revos don't really aim for the stood straight poses and flourish much better when you go for dynamic poses full of movement.

Personally I think Revoltech is a serious Love or Hate type of line. If you like the Yamaguchi style/Platinum Games over the top style of action then you probably will enjoy the Revo figures.
If you don't get his style then I think the Revo line won't really work too well. Of course there are going to be exceptions to this as that isn't really a rule but I feel it seems to be a general vibe in Revo threads.

For anyone that has Cattleya does she have a double ball joint in her torso or is it so long that it's two single ball joints?

6mm

Two single ball joints, so her full torso (crotch, belly, breasts) is 3 parts.

Well, what I did to fix up my Menace was to take the neck joint from a bunch of my Legacy's/post joint fix QB girls, and then just use those. Since the heads on the QB girls aren't, you know, super heavy or anything, the old shit tier joints work fine there, and Menace has good body joints as a result.

I should probably do the same for her arms, but meh.

>>5897806

Sigui doesn't have a Legacy. She is post-new joints though, she she has the good joints by default.

I have it. I bought it for the guitar and mic accessory and it was also only 1k yen on Mandarake. To be honest its pretty shit and I plan on salvaging it for joints. That being said it did convince me to check out the manga which was fucking fantastic.
>>
>>5897814

I'm trying to work that out for echidna's torso but using two of the newer 6mm single joints is too long, do you recommend cutting them or trying to find another 6mm revolver joint?

I have no idea how I would fix her torso. Sorry man. Just get a black colored newer one and put it in there? Not like anyone will notice if it's inside her body, right?

Yeah I don't mind the color it's just hard finding one of the newer style joints and not just the grab bags on ebay which is usually old style joints.
>>
>>5897947
I think all you have to do is place the face in warm water and then use your thumb and index finger and apply small pressure around the eye area to close it up. I don't have the original pic but that was essentially the idea since the eyelid was more open giving Snake the 1000 yard stare.

Probably helps that in this case they went more towards trying to match the more washed out water color tones of Miyazaki's manga versus the solid and more saturated colors of the film.

Personally I wouldn't feel too much of an issue myself getting it colored versus the rest of takeya being rust since it's something from a fantasy film versus myth and legend. It already stands out from the other takeya without being in color is my opinion.

Yeah I really like it though, lets you get some extra clicks forward without looking too odd. It's cool that they keep changing the format of articulation each time. I think they hit the sweet spot for articulation and visuals with this one.

Too bad IM related characters are the only ones Kaiyodo seems to be allowed to produce for MCU. It would've been good timing to make Black Panther, Falcon or Vision ahead of other companies.

And you can't blame people for not liking QB Revos or avoiding them. When it started out the sculpt was a bit rough and the 6mm joints were at its maximum degeneration.

I noticed people rarely go back to check a toy line out when their initial experience was a bad one. Like they can't imagine things actually improve... Probably why till this day I still hear complaints about Dante. But I guess not so many toy lines are different from figure to figure as Revoltechs are.

>>5910519
You're talking of the Legacy right?

So the hips are cut joints like older Revoltechs. That's two diagonal swivels at hip and upper thigh. shoulder pylons are attached to body via a hinged peg joint, what's commonly used for wrist joints in many older Revos, fgma or Minis. They are kind of flimsy, looks like they float about.

Not as good as the Evolution sculpt, but they're okay.
>>
>>5910527

>>
>>5911494
I'm pretty sure he can't then You mean like normal sitting position right? Because you can "kick straight forward" with one leg if you twist parts around properly.

Whelp, for anyone curious these are not in the new joint style. On top of that two of the joints were busted out of the box.

I get the feeling we never saw menace, melona or echidna legacy releases because revoltech didn't retool new 6mm double joint pieces and just did all others as the larger 8mm joint or just single joints from there on out.

Level with me friends, is there an updated 6mm double joint out there?
>>
>>5912332
Oh I could've told you that, sorry.

No they never released joints pack after the upgrade. the one in pics are really old though there were ones sold in plastic bags, but still the older joints. But they were of better quality.

The only way to get surplus joints of newer design are with the Assemble Borgs. The Nexus releases even has the ones with increased ratchets.

The older ones coming out for regular release will have the previous version, still two-piece 6mm so not too bad, since they are just getting rid of old stock.

But these are all black joints.
>>
>>5912577

I don't care if they are black but considering you have more experience with assemble borgs can you show or link the ones that have the new style 6mm double joint? It is incredibly difficult to find good information.

MDC_NORIAKI_KAKYOIN.jpg
113KB, 800x600px
Hey buds, I just got the Kakyoin figure in the picture and I have question for anyone else who owns it.

Did each head come with its own neck? The sunglasses version didn't have one for me and I can't figure out for the life of me how to get the other head off the neck to switch it.

Thanks pals.
>>
>>5917259
Medicoms dont come with multiple necks, don't think any figure line does?

try putting his head under a hair dryer for a under ten or so seconds to soften the connection, then gently remove

also this is the revoltech general
>>
>>5917264
I'm sorry, I'm just getting into figurines and I'm very lost
>>
For anyone who has bought a nexus assemble borg do they come with the bag of assorted joints like the older releases?
>>
>>5917398
There are a shit load of extra joints in nexus yes.
>>
>>5917404

Like the smaller 6mm joints or just 8mm? Looking for 6mm revolver and single joints
>>
>>5917409
I'll have check when I get home but I'm sure it's the 6mm ones mainly.
>>
>>5917445

Thanks mate, if they do have both types of 6mm joints that are improved from the old revo borgs I will buy one

>>

Oh shit okay, man would it be alright to maybe buy the joints I need off of you? If that works with you.

If not I will buy a new borg and most likely sell it in the /bst/
>>
>>5917691
Somebody had a nexus for cheap at the end of the last bst, might be worth looking for it.
>>
When does amiami usually charge for preorders? This was my first time because I really fucking wanted all the assembleborgs.
>>
>>5918735
When they meet release and prepare everything for shipping. If something gets delayed then they usually reorder it to its release month.
>>
>>5917259
go to the SAS general. Also, SAS usually have a peg on top of the neck, so you just have to pull out the head and push in the new one. At least that's how my jotaro is. You can ask here >>>5901516
>>
Have anyone tried the new figma archetype neck onto a QB body? Does it work?
>>
>>5911657

I own Snake and it fucking annoys me.

Why the fuck should it be hard to give him a pose where he isn't doing the splits?
>>
>>5921339
Actually I remember that being brought up as an issue at release. One anon did some cutting with the straps and supposedly dealt with the leg issues but I figured it has to do with the way the hips are set up.
>>
>>5921339
>>5921360

Don't cut the straps. Nothing to do with the articulation in that matter.

The socket and the ball joint column themselves interfere.

You can twist the thighs outwards to get the legs a bit closer. Still have the legs apart but looks like standing straight to me.

I think they made the ball joints so thick so dumb Americans wont break them. I think they still keep a certain standards for durability that is higher than other Japanese companies.
>>
>>5903093
Got mine today and I can't help but think that those aren't really joints to begin with since the pegs on mine are stiff as fuck.

Also, my general opinion about this fig is that it's merely okay and absolutely NOT worth the retail price.
It's not any bigger, more detailed or of higher quality than older Revoltechs (in fact, the finish of the paintjob on the shield of mine is pretty bad) and you could easily see this being released seven years ago along with the Revo Dancouga.
It's also odd that the feet are one solid piece each and don't have any toe joints despite being large enough to house them.
>>
>>5911667
You are buying the wrong line of figures then lad.

The first Revoltech Yotsuba, is she worth it? a great figure or naahh?
>>
>>5926798
If it's this one then yeah. I only have the summer version but she's fairly posable and hell, it's Yotsuba. The only issue I came across was one of her hair pieces was prone to falling off easily but other than that I can recommend her.
>>
>>5926798
She's pretty good, but remember she's on the 1/10th scale Fraleuin series, rather than proper revoltech. Also she had cut joint waists, if that bothers you
>>
>>5926833
>Also she had cut joint waists, if that bothers you
I don't really mind that visually, but what does that mean for posability?
>>
>>5926842
It's kind of hard to describe, but look at her pics. >>5926832

For example she can't bring her arm 90 degrees to the side. She also can't bring her leg straight forward, it's always on an angle

I hated revolmini solid snake with a passion, but I recently got the cyborg ninja and I love him. Probably because he doesn't have the retarded bondage straps getting tangled up with his hips. He sort of feels like a better version of raiden, and I adore raiden. Anyway, what other releases in the line are worth a pickup? I still hate the scale, but I kind of want at least one other fig at this size.

Ironman and War Machine are surprising when I got them in. Manage to nab Ironman for 1.5k and War Machine for 3.5. Only downside of Ironman is the lack of hand repulsor effects and you only have effect parts for his feet. War Machine packs more effects for his guns.

Don't listen to that guy. Minis are all great besides the Soviet Soldier since they all are basically the same body sculpt.

I like all the Kinnikuman characters that is not Kinniku Suguru, I think Yamaguchi nailed the super poseable male body buck with them. Iron Man pair is fun too. Venom Snake of course is a great figure all around. Klaus is pretty good but Zapp is pure crap.

Just try not to pay too much for them.
>>
>>5927913
What's wrong with Zapp? I got a chance to watch the series he and Klaus is based on and he's a blast.
>>
>>5927973
Poseability issue. Elbows and knees can barely bend. Wrists are not as free ranged as one would want for a swordsman figure. Just not worth the increased price, maybe at 50% off you should get it along with Klaus.

There are figmas on the way I believe? Might wanna wait for those but I doubt Klaus can be any better than the Mini. Probably be near 7000 yen anyways not being a fotm school girl figma.

Opened my Baikanfu.

I see what everyone means. There is definitely a swivel joint placed in the shoulders, the way the shoulder pads moves confirms it. I checked the Sentinel's blog and it does show and say the upper arm swings out. And warm up the plastic if it's stiff.

Bull shit they're completely stuck on mine. I think either the factory did that by mistake or they made last minute changes.

Due to the way the revolver joint's pegs are positioned in the shoulders they do give enough swivel to outwards direction, so it's not that big of a deal.

I could try cutting into the separation point but the peg them selves might be glued if it's not from the paint sticking the two pieces.

Don't fix what's not broken I guess. The wrists works much better than Goshogun so there's that.

I might go through twitter and see if the shoulders are stuck on all or most. Shishioh's review of it looks like they were stuck.
>>
Went through some twitter pics. They all look like they got stuck shoulders. One guy's twitter even mentions how his was about to break there, sent back for replacement, and got the same or another one back in the exact same condition of near breaking point haha.

No official comment on the matter as far as I can find. I think they made it a sold piece on purpose because it was a structural weak point.

How's the paint on the Evangelion Revoltechs? Looks very spotty on the promo pics, so i fear for what the actual thing looks like
>>
>>5934664
I have one, I felt a bit disappointed from the start and I still don't know why. It's the 3.0 version of Unit 02 with the extremely long rifle and two knives. The paint job is... only okay. It has some bleeding over the wrong lines and the details are lost on the small size. I have more problems about the joints and the way it's built so overall I was wouldn't buy another. The paint job on the accessories is better though.
>>
The time has come. I want to buy the only evangelion missing from my collection. It's fucking unit 05. Is the evolution version worth the 5k yen they ask? Should I just take the 2.0 one for 2k? The thing that bugs me the most is no torso articulation

Nanael. However, her body under the dress comes with sculpted on "milk" and a "spilled milk" accessory for her milk bottle which is basically just a cum shot part effect. So if you want to display her nude, well, just be aware she's literally covered in "milk".

They should stop posing the necks jutting out so much. They did the same with Ultron and yet having him in-hand made me realize how you can actually keep it nice and leveled without over-exaggerating how hunched he looks. I have little to no doubt the same will apply to this Spidey.

So why is there no problem when Bandai releases Star Wars character after Star Wars character on Amiami and HLJ, but Revoltech Marvel is a problem on the same sites? They're both owned by Disney. Hasbro has the rights to both properties. Can anyone explain that to me? I know there were problems with the Star Wars model kits, but not the figures?
>>

Diamond and Mezco, who have the rights for collector Marvel action figures in the USA, are double cockblocking Kaiyodo and are only accepting cockloving apologies from Yamaguchi himself to loosen up their policies.
The toy business is really personal and all the licensing rights are done in the cockfighting rings underneath Disney's castles in Florida, Paris, and California.

Honestly, i don't get why people think anyone but Disney's lawyers through impersonal emails and letters ever get involved in this shit.

I think the head might be the worse part, yeah. It doesn't look like there's the shape of an actual person's head beneath the mask in the sculpt. It's a shame because I think Deadpool captured that very well.
Also those knee joints still look pretty abnormal. From some angles it's fine but the wall crawling pic really sticks out to me for that reason and just for how the legs jut out.

It's kinda weird how the first revoltech Spider-Man, as outdated as it is, has better knee joints due to the sculpt not being cut.
