Is it this Ooples? We have one in San Antonio but it's like 30 minutes from my house. I'm so pissed, they shut down this shop called "Little Surprises" that was a "kawaii goods store" and they sold a lot of cute plushies. But it's getting replaced by a fucking thinkgeek store.

Oh shit. Those are actually pretty hard to find online for a low price now (last I checked people were asking $50 not including shipping for one). Nice!

>>

at least in Texas there are korean markets that sell things like this "Ranch 99" and "H mart"
i have seen the molang bunny plush but i havent seen this seal anywhere

i really want to some day get the super cool pose-able fantasy plushies. i cant remember her name but they all get taken as fast as possible

If a store sells rilakkuma then they should be able to sell mamegomas too. The problem is mamegoma isn't very popular in the states so there isn't a big demand for them.

I'm diggin that black cat, it reminds me of the stuff in a japanese patternbooks i've got.

Mind sharing any info about your patternmaking process?
>>
>>5872151
Sure! It's a lot of trial and error. I recommend whileshenaps.com and the book 'How to make and design stuffed toys' by Rudi De Sarigny.

Most of what I do is built off of previous patterns I've drafted (basically all the original dolls shown are the same base pattern). My first pattern book was the 'cute doll' book by Aranzi Aronzo. I use cheap fabric to test things.

Fuck that owner. He would get weebs to "volunteer" to work the store, promise them a discount and store credit, never pay them, never give the discount or store credit.

Plus Franklin is a straight up pedophile. Ask why they got kicked out of Dragon's Lair in San Antonio. Im sure theyll bullshit around it, but they got caught banging a 15 year old girl and got kicked out.

Being a girl, you dont want to go in the store. At all. Bunch of thirsty weebs that will hit on you in front of your bf.

And they will never, ever, no way in hell, ever get the smell of MTG players out of the store. Its like a mixture of a dozen nerds that no shower for months while masturbating without a jizz sock.
>>
>>5876675
as a female, i was fine going there. yeah it was super cringe but damn you must know a lot about these guys, shit. spill more dirt because im about to become roomies with someone who works there and i dont want any gross shit to happen.

also heres how you shut down a thirsty weeb
"fuck off you smell like shit dont talk to me"
or just say
" im not interested"

>works there and i dont want any gross shit to happen.

Have a long read. How are you going to room with an ooples enployee when they dont get paid, or maybe get to buy a wallscroll that was going to be thrown out for 1/2 price.

Best case scenario he makes $2.09 an hour, you will still have to pay 100% of rent and utilities and buy food for both, worst case, the rape, but most likely youll just get shit stolen by the roomy to pay for their DUDE WEED habit. Nobody in their right mind would work for that pay with those conditions on top of being worked like a slave.
>>
I'm sorry but wtf kind of na m e for a store is ooples? All allegations of mismanagement aside I'd be embarrassed to shop there for the name alone.
>>
>>5876713

>>5876713
shit.
>>
>>5876797
side note.
its just a guy who works there and NOT franklin.
>>
>>5876819
Most of the guys who work there are trouble too because theyre friends wit Franklin and like minds tend to flock together. You will have trouble guaranteed. Do not room with them.
Im not even the other anon that posted the info page but I have had artist alley dealings with these people.
>>
>>5876854
this guy seems fine. there isnt any signing of any papers going on and i can just go back in with my parents if shit goes awry. The blog linked has so much rambling and it just looks like Fanklin is fucked in the head

im going to tell my bf about all this shit but we are getting a pretty good deal with the place at least
>>
>>5876909
Well be carefull then anon, most people are raped by people they know and all that, etc.
>>
>>5876909
>this guy seems fine. there isnt any signing of any papers going on

Whew lass. You know, go right ahead. You need to learn the hard way. Its too much work to expose every flaw in that agreement right there.

Who knows you may enjoy the rape and your bf gets off too.
>>
>>5873636
Where did you find that Agumon?
>>
>>5877028

this guy just WORKS for ooples and isnt involved in his garbage. Just because he works for a pedo doesnt mean that he is a fucking rapist ffs. I know i am in a safe environment. You guys just know a lot of dated info on some guy(( IM NOT MOVING IN WITH )) and dont even know any of the situation.

im not going to get raped by some scrawny weeblet thats for sure

>"At any time the ceiling above you can cave in and drop 18 tons of books onto whomever is standing underneath them."

Somebody being crushed under a gigantic mountain of yaoi is the funniest mental image
>>
>>5877464
Id like to point out the stupidity behind that.

>pay for premium store space
>use it to store yaoi manga
>pay 10x the price a storage building would cost

Maybe if Franklin wasnt a total dumbfuck he could afford to pay more than $2 under the table.

>>5877098
You should be fine, but being a tenant without a contract can work against you. Plus seing as how they arent even paid minimum wage, you will be stuck paying extra on bills and whatever.

i honestly dont mind spotting on bills if its because hes getting dicked on pay. living with others is all about working together and it wont kill me if he needs help on his part

Does anyone know of clothing that would fit a medium sized rilakkuma (about 13in./33cm. from ear to toe)?

San-x clothes are super expensive, so I'm wondering if there are clothes made for other dolls that would fit rilakkuma. The head-to-body proportions make it difficult to find a fit. Baby clothes are too large.

Unfortunately, finding clothes for dolls/plushies is a bit complicated. As far as dolls that are 13" tall, you could try clothes from the les cheries line but they're probably going to be too skinny. Personally I'd just go for build a bear clothes.
>>
>>5884163
Thanks! Build-a-bear clothing might fit. I think les cheries would be skinny, as you say. The actual rilakkuma body itself is probably only 7 inches. I'll look at build-a-bear shirts!

Yes, yes it is. Half of the stuff I buy is because muh nostalgia. I dunno about you, but I'm balancing it out by mildly starving myself. It's fine, I do need to lose some weight anyway, plus, toys.

Just pre-ordered this indie artist plush. It's a Tygershark pun and I loved the concept too much not to get one. Artist's website / brand is called Purrmaids and she's got several cute character plush concepts up for pre-order. They're kinda pricey but they're big and unique so totally worth it in my opinion.

i got a plushie sort of like this at the fair, but it's not exactly the same, it's one of those car hanger types for the back window.

so far it's just on my desk though, my neighborhood's pretty bad as far as car related break ins go, just the other day somebody tried to steal my car, but the battery was dead so they couldn't even start it.

jimmied my car key slot off the door and smashed in all my windows though
>>

Adventure aquarium. Amazon river exhibit. The caiman was a super cutie who scratches his face like a dog.
>>
Would it be stupid to hang a plushie from my rear view mirror? How faded would it get over time?
>>
>>5893370
It depends on what the materials are. I have a neopet lizard that chills in my back window, and he's still vibrant looking. The lion I have though, his mane is kinda faded, but otherwise still looks fine. It seems like some fuzzier/furrier materials tend to fade easier, but that could also be due to low quality materials.

I'd try it with something you're not in love with or can get another of, and see how it goes.
>>

Looking at this thread made me felt nostalgic growing up as a kid.

I remember getting a plushie like this at blockbuster on the weekend when I was a kid, while looking at movies with my cousins.

:(
>>
have any of y'all ever gone into build-a-bear? I have one from a long time ago but since I had it as a kid it looks grody as hell. I put Chapstick on its mouth and now it's all brown and gross. I kind of want to go back and make another one but I'm a little worried about the heart ceremony. I remember having to kiss it as a kid. Would they make me do this as a gangly awkward teenage girl?
>>
>>5900565
It depends on the store, you could always ask beforehand not to do it. There's no heart ceremony if you bought one online but where's the fun in that?
>>
>>5894789
You can get it from yahoo japan still. It's went up in price since release mind you. I was lucky enough to get one when it released.
>>
>>5900581
Yeah exactly. I'm thinking of maybe just taking my old one in there for some repairs because I know they'll do that for free. Maybe get her an outfit or something so I don't have to spend a ton of money on a whole new one.

Trust me, her designs translate fantastically into plush. This is a prototype of the Siamese Beta. I'm in an art group on Facebook that the artist posts updates in. The Squitten hasn't had any updates yet but honestly she is not letting the manufacturer cut corners with these and I'm really hyped about the Toygershark. I understand not wanting to preorder jst based on a sketch but I'm confident after seeing some of the prototypes that if you like the style and the concept you will love the plush. Also she's stated that the Beta and the Toyger are nice and big at about 16".

I used to have catastrophic plushie structural failures but it would be from the shelves in the center being off balance and toppling. My husband drilled a bunch of way better shelves into the wall and now there is also a system of cubbies in there. Hard to see because of all the plushies.

But I can get at what I want fairly easily, usually just have to move around a handful of things.

Just yesterday I went to the 25 cent machine at my local Wal-mart, and surprise surprise there was something other than the usual garbage. They have these little toys that basically look like rip-offs of disney tsumtsums. They're actually really cute and look at least decently made. I tried for a shark or a pink bunny, but I ended up getting this different larger plush of...what I think is a white cat, but without a tail. Surprisingly soft. We already told you corgi and you shot it down with obnoxious typing and emoji. Why do you even have that as a choice in the first place?

Take your namefagging somewhere else.

I hope all your plush get lice.

My mate got the panda for her niece, it's really awesome, but Worrible is unique, so personally that's what I'd go for.

I've got the (mini) Anubis and Cthulhu, both are amazing! I'm waiting on the Jackalope and Barn Owl to get released too. I'd love a regular sized one, but I haven't found one that really does it for me.

oh. my. god. i've been browsing 4chan for around 8 years, and ive been on /toy/ a few times but i am so ecstatic theres a plushies general. i can finally discuss plushies in peace.

the ONLY place i've ever seen Nemuneko and AMUSE plushies selling in person is at anime conventions, nd that's it. (although i have seen rilakkuma plushies at Kinokuniya books in NYC, and Mamegoma/cinnamaroll stuff at book off in NYC..have yet to see any plushies there yet),

then again i dont live nearby any kawaii shops of any kind, closest ones are a 3-4 hours away.

has anyone ever come across a Nemuneko plushie less than 30 dollars? I always see them at cons going for around that, and wondered if it's even possible scoring those for anything less than that.

>>5887960
i got one of the keychain sumikko gurashi plushie's where one of them is sort of wrapped in a bag. super soft and super cute. i hung him on my plushie hammock.

>>5872447
i also saw one of these at an anime convention, was going to get one but the one on display was their last one, the nyanpans went very quickly!

>>5931038
very cute !!! lots of love

>>5945112
i love squishables so much. i just got my first 2 regular size squishables (i had some minis and micros before) because they sent me a coupon code for their retiring squishables. i got the Skunk and Otter. Very cute!
(pic not related, just here because it's cute and i love sanrio/sanx)
>>
>>5970999
What is the second chracter, they're adorable.
>>
>>5971044

That's Pompompurin, one of my favorite character/mascots ever!! he has to be in my top 5. he's a Sanrio character, the makers of hello kitty. they sell Pompompurin merchandise on the Sanrio shop. i love him a lot and he's adorable!
>>
>>5971137
>>5971044
Excellent taste, Purin is my favorite. It makes me sad that Kitty's everywhere in the US but Pompom Purin is nowhere to be found. You might find some My Melody, Cinnamoroll or Little Twin Stars but that's about it. And forget San-x or any other company.

Toy design is a subset of industrial design so I'd start there. It's a super challenging field, though. I just started in toy design classes, but I'm three years into my degree. You start with things like lamps and speakers.

thanks so much! and you're absolutely right. while i enjoy hello kitty, there's so much hello kitty and not enough pompom purin in stores! he's such a cutie! the only pompompurin i have is either bought from the sanrio web store, or this one little plush ball keychain i saw at kinokuniya books in new york. i HAD to get that little plush, it was the first time i ever came across a merch of him in person, and of course it was the only one at the shop.

and , again, EXACTLY as you said, sometimes we're lucky to come across cinnamoroll or little twin stars. it's pleasant, but yes, that's about it. and never ever ever san-x. unfortunately. although i feel like rilakkuma will become more and more popular in the coming years which will be good for me, as a rilakkuma enthusiast and collector since 2012, i get excited at the sight of that sweet relaxed bear.

the closest thing ive ever seen to any san-x stuff in real life asides from conventions and japanese US stores, is those little areas in malls where they sell phone cases, and there's rubber (very likely unofficial, but still cute) rilakkuma phone cases, in all different colors. i feel like if i ever do come across a rilakkuma in daily life living in the middle of nowhere, i feel like i'll HAVE to buy it, just like the pompompurin situation. even when it's overpriced, i feel like, the situation has presented itself to me. hehe.

glad to hear someone has similar feelings to me about san-x and sanrio merchandise!

>>5971669
thank you!

the popular corgi plushies are up for pre-order on their storenvy. Only the tri-color ones are up, though.

I know this isn't EXACTLY the place for this, but I like this thread and I wanted to post the custom "alpacasso" I finally finished today. This guy's huge, like 18 inches from the top of his head to the bottom of his front feet. had to order 18mm eyes specially for him.

I was thinking he needs accessories for that "alpacasso" feel, maybe a simple collar with a bow tie in a coordinating color?
>>
>>5995787

That's cute anon. How long did it take you to make it?

Hmm..is that alpaca teal in color? I think a bow tie would be a good look for it to have. Not sure what color would pair it with though.
>>
>>5998193
Thanks anon! It actually took a few months, BUT most of that time was just because I hella procrastinated on sewing things together and actually ordering those eyes for it.

It is, the ears are a teal and the head/body is called "pool." And I was thinking a chocolate brown might be nice, to go with a mint chocolate kind of feel.

the official su pearl plush is... really not so great. by default, it is better than the funko pop figure, and certainly much better than the garnet plush in the same series. the bootleg shiny sylveon has its own quirks, but still soft and cute.

some outside (overseas usually) plush making companies can offer small batch production. the purrmaids creator looks like they might have done that, based on quickly looking at the kickstarter campaign.

I've been collecting the FNaF plushes lately. I'm not a big plush fan, but if it's of a character I really like and the plush is of high quality, I may get it.
