Have you checked Fred's, the pharmacy store? You may or may not have in your area. They're mostly in small rural towns down here in the south US.

For some reason, they've all of sudden started stocking DC Multiverse, Marvel Legends, and Star Wars Black. The nice thing is that since they've been getting stuff after TFA movie, they've avoided the Finn & Zuvio bottleneck that has been plaguing alot of stores.

I use gundam markers for the most part. But any paint will work fine once properly thinned. And since most SW kits are already molded in the correct colours you can often get away with just a simple panel line wash (to bring out the details).

I love my Hasbro figs for the price, but how come no one ever talks about how much of a floppy mess they are? Even the majority of my Marvel Legends suffer the same loose joints here and there. It's mostly in the hips or legs, and I don't do a lot of posing, just static standing poses. Also that cheap soft plastic they use for the joints is pretty bad all around.

I play with my SHFs a ton and the only thing that has ever broken is one of the tiny antennas on a Kamen Rider (Black to be specific). I've been collecting SHFs for the whole time the line has existed cause I'm a big KR fan and they seem designed explicitly to be played with and aren't fragile at all. I'm not just being a fanboy, I just honestly think whoever told you that is completely off-base. There's other lines I also love where I might say otherwise, like Riobots can be pretty fragile and sometimes don't really feel meant for playing so much as like delicate deliberate posing. But SHFs really aren't that way at all.
