There's one open spot left for the big guy.
Just need some decent instrctuions, since the others are flawed.

There should be MOC a plenty.

has anyone built brawler makuta? i want to build it too but i don't want to take apart my jto makuta to do so.

>Makuta gets blasted into the Shadow Realm
>from there he controls skull spiders, skull raiders, and Umarak
>the Toa defeat those minions and send him back to the Shadow Realm, sacrificing themselves to do so
There is literally no reason Makuta can't order someone else to start shit and get him out again. The Toa are gone now. Evil wins in the end. Thanks Lego.
>>
>>5859091
Kulta is still fucking around, just currently buried in a city.
>>
>>5859091
>this is all according to legos plan
>canning G2 was a massive publicity stunt
>bionicle gets re-continued in two years
some small part of me desperately wants this to be true
>>
>>5859091
Are you a fucking idiot? The Mask of Ultimate Power was the ONLY thing that could have brought him back. It was the ONE key to opening a portal from the outside. Now it's either gone, or trapped forever on the wrong side of the door.

Yes, he can still order minions around from the Shadow Realm, but it does him no good at all anymore. The only reason he did any of this shit was to attempt an escape and rule Okoto. Both of those things are impossible now, so why fucking bother? The Toa won.
>>
>>5859091
But the Toa are also supposed to come back when that happens. It's basically a reset to a few hundred years before their arrival.
>>
>>5859109
No, they're supposed to come back when something ELSE catastrophic and evil happens. Makuta's chapter is over. He failed.

Think about it like this: his ONLY small chance of returning at this point is if someone else forges a second Mask of Ultimate Power. There are only TWO ways he could possibly make that happen from the Shadow Realm. Either he uses the Mask of Control to directly possess another being on Okoto so that he can forge a new mask using their hands as his own (which he can't fucking do anymore because the MoCo was completely destroyed). OR he gets Ekimu to do it, which is NEVER going to happen. I doubt Ekimu will ever teach anyone else on the island to forge masks either, for fear that they might be persuaded to work for Makuta. It was made clear; everybody except for the Makers know fuckall about forging Masks of Power. They might not even have the capacity to learn either. It could be a mystical ability that the regular Okotan species isn't even capable of.
>>
>>5859133
>No, they're supposed to come back when something ELSE catastrophic and evil happens.
So what you're saying is that if Makuta somehow does the impossible and comes back again, Okoto is completely screwed because that one particular catastrophic and evil thing isn't covered by the Toa insurance?
>>
>>5859139
I know this is a joke, but no. What I'm saying is that it will never happen. If an evil strong enough to warrant the Toa returning ever arises, it won't be Makuta.
>>
>>5859142
Well, at least Ekimu is back and could forge masks, armor, and weapons for 6 villagers to wear, only for one of them to die in a blaze of glory to ensure the deed is done and the other 5 survive to tell his tale.
>>
>>5859139
Jaller from State Farm?
>>
>>5859148
I hear Jaller wears corduroys.
>>
>>5859144
Just had a thought. Now that Ekimu is kicking around for good, Okoto can once again use the Vahi to see visions of the future and help prevent catastrophe from happening.
>>
>>5859144
>>5859151
>6 people running around cosplaying as Toa
>fighting evil and shit
>suddenly big bad guys comes around
>Toa come back
>big bad guys beat the shit out of the Toa because the lessons don't stick and they're cocky after beating Makuta
>the villager Toa team, in turn, beat the shit out of the big bad guys because they're actually coordinated and have Ekimu acting as Zordon to know what the big bad guys actually do
Insurance plan for the insurance plan.

>the Toa are mopey because ice guy stole their thunder as they beam back up to their planets
>>
>>5859156
You're forgetting that:
A.) The Protectors are already as "Toa" as villagers get. Ekimu would just better upgrade them. And,
B.) The Okotans are the ones who need to summon the Toa. They don't just show up on their own. If the Protectors could handle it themselves, they wouldn't even bother calling the Toa.
>>
It triggers me that Izotor says

Well, saying Bionicle is a legend AT ALL is kind of redundant.

Hey, uh im new to this board, but i just want to know, anybody see this? (pic related)

I remember seeing him as a kid and wanting to buy him, not sure the exact model name, all i know is that he is makuta.

If anybody knows if he was ever made into a figure, or if you guys know the figure name and series could you please tell me?

(I searched the wiki and didn't find him)
>>
>>5859235
That particular model was never made. However, he is somewhat based on a combo model 10202 Ultimate Dume.

Then there's 8593 Makuta from the year before, and also 10201 Takutanuva from when he combines with Takanuva.

>>
>>5859196
G1 was a Biological Chronicle, but G2 only bears that name because it is based on G1. It's not the legend of "The Biological Chronicle" anymore, it's just the legend of "Bionicle" as a brand name.
>>
>>5859241
>>5859243
>>5859235

Actually, its strange that he was never made, I remember as a kid having the dvd of this film.

There was an option to watch a video about how the Bionicles are made, and I FUCKING SWEAR they showed a prototype of THIS makuta.

seriously, it was grey with no color on the body, and the wings had fabric, but actually, thinking about it now it might have been two or three combined by the artists.

So.. basically if i am correct it was just something they built for themselves

so yeah its like you say, he was never made into an official toy. I wonder why... I would have bought it.
>>
>>5859250
Isn't it pretty much his MoL design with wings tacked on? They probably didn't want to release almost identical versions of the same titan two years in a row. They could have gone for a more movie-like design instead, but for some reason they did neither and just made Ultimate Dume.

>So.. basically if i am correct it was just something they built for themselves
I started a kitbash of the MoL design a few years back and tried to stick as close to the model as I could, but there's so much about it that doesn't function without heavy modification.
>knees, hips, and ankles can't support the design's weight
>the elbows have to use cut pneumatic tubes instead of 2L axles for articulation
>kodan claws for the calves have to be cut and glued in place, if the glue sticks to the material at all
>midsection joint is two Technic #1 connectors with 3L axles and voodoo balls on the ends, pinned onto the upper body
>>the pin holes need more tightness and friction to hold the upper torso upright
>several components don't actually exist without scratchbuilding or 3D printing
>fingers may be made with Battle Droid arms
>wrist joints are impossible
>ankle balls have axles and more balls branching out from them, connected to the non-existent toes
>the bent technic liftarms in the shoulders have no modeled space between them on the CGI model, meaning the connections weren't planned out behind the armor plating
>Nuva shoulderpads are mounted directly onto the shoulder balls
The concept art even had some funky proportioning: http://www.blacksheepproductions.net/wp-content/gallery/bionicle-i/eric-2.jpg

What I think happened was that there were specific sections designed with parts on-hand, but it never actually made it to the custom prototype stage before the lineart was developed with artistic liberties. From there the CGI artist simplified elements. The same seems to have happened with Nidhiki.

Fun fact: The added-on Nivawk wings used 7L double sockets at least a full year before they went into production for the Visorak.
>>
>>5859397
>Fun fact: The added-on Nivawk wings used 7L double sockets at least a full year before they went into production for the Visorak
The lower legs of Metru also looked eerily similar to Piraka arms, but that's probably just a coincidence
>>
Did we ever figure out how to make the "official" Mask Maker Makuta that lego showed off with the three big models?
>>
>>5859414
Usually, just modifiying the Protector Ekimu model with trans-purple from the Earth Protector, Onua, or Skull Basher is how to do it. The Uniter Onua has different sized bones that would be your best resource for the trans-purple.

>Listening to TOA'S THEME and thinking about what G2 would have been like with 3 seasons of 4 episodes like JtO from the start

Is this what getting cucked feels like? Especially with how it ended just throwing that light and shadow and huge makuta shit in our face in the last episode. Imagining a proper last year, a proper ending to this year and a full next year makes me a little mad. G2 was a good theme with a good understandable world if you thought a little below the surface. Could have been a good simple little theme, the structure for everything was there. It's not like there aren't successful action figures nowadays. I'd call Lego higher ups a bunch of money-grubbing kikes, but I think the stereotypical Jew at least understands a return on investment. Such a shame really. RIP Okoto.
>>
>>5859535
It's a shame that the pace the series had to move at rarely gave the soundtrack a chance to shine like it did in the Miramax trilogy.

So for the Makuta contest the rules recommend taking pictures on a neutral background free from background clutter. Does this mean a photo taken outside would be frowned up? Also are pictures showcasing dynamic action (like Makuta facing down 2015 Ekimu) a bad idea? I had an idea for a picture of Makuta holding the Mask of Creation in one hand and holding a maskless Ekimu by his arm in the other hand. I'm also afraid it would be seen as too violent.

>>
Just had a moment to think about how much G2 fucked up hard and it dawned on me.

What would've actually worked for 2015 is if we got a wave of Okotian fauna with Skull Spiders latched onto their backs/necks and the obligatory Ekimu+big bad set for the summer wave. The big summer villain being the one actually controlling the horde. Imagine if LoSS was just a G2 Muaka and Kulta instead came with the GMoSS, and the Skull Spiders were the sole focus of the year while also giving us better foes and a stronger callback to G1.

Basically HF 3.0 mixed with 2001.

How did Bionicle die any way? Like, was it just not selling? Was the idea too stale? was there not enough innovation?

Were the figures too complex? or were they too simple? Its been a while since i bought any toys.

Just recently got myself a used rahkshi, got it on amazon for like 18 usd, it will come with everything, plus the box.

These were the shit for me and I think I will save up money to get all of them in brand new condition.
>>
>>5860279
>Does this mean a photo taken outside would be frowned up?

Doubtful. Like they said, it's recommended to avoid having to deal with dark and blurry photos but not totally compulsory. As long as it's easy enough to see in good light and have enough shots to show everything off, shooting anywhere should be fine.

>Also are pictures showcasing dynamic action (like Makuta facing down 2015 Ekimu) a bad idea?

If you have the photo to spare, it shouldn't be an issue.

>I'm also afraid it would be seen as too violent.

I don't really see how that would be too violent. Seems like it'd be a pretty standard thing with something like Bionicle.
>>
>>5860472
I'm literally trying to draw attention away from me but you're just bringing it back.

When they brought it back they made a completely new, much simpler story, and the figures no longer looked like mysterious robot warriors, but rather generic cartoon super heroes.

How does shapeways work boys? How long can I put off buying the MOUP? Does something that's uploaded just stay available forever or what?

There's a guy in this general >>5859994
Working on a better version than the two that are up right now. And I wouldn't worry about the ones already up getting taken down. I'd say just wait a week or two more than when his is up make a decision without wasting money on an inferior version.
>>
>>5860655
>How does shapeways work boys?
Someone uploads a file on their page, the company prints it out and sends it to the person buying from that page. The person who uploaded it gets a certain percentage of the base price (in the case of the MoUP, a couple of cents from each purchase)

>How long can I put off buying the MOUP?
Depends on how long the models stay up and if people are continuing to upload their own. I'd wait until the anon here finally finalizes his first model and gets feedback to improve it in the next couple of months.

>Does something that's uploaded just stay available forever or what?
It'll stay up until the store owner pulls it down themselves, either closing up shop or uploading a significantly better version (although most keep the V1 around as a cheaper option while the V2 and so forth become available), or receive a C&D (which is fairly unlikely).

The only thing that kills me is

A. Body/leg proportions
B. Colors used

Seriously they aren't as complex as the old ones but they're OK, but I would like LEGO to make more complex sets like OP's pic related but if they don't sell then thats too bad.

I'm not sure why they don't go for the collector market, I'd love adult/collector figurines that are complex and are 70+ USD, like sure, it would be expensive but they would be able to make cooler designs for adults.

something like the Play Arts Kai figures, but bionicle, i mean in terms of quality and intricacy, not literally.
>>
>>5861030
I've wanted fully articulated Toa Mata recreations for so long. Figures that look exactly like the originals, but with actual functioning joints and shit.

This is why Lego should rent the license off to other toy makers. I'd even buy the fuck out of high end Toa statueshit.
>>
>>5861032

Yeah, i'm not sure why they don't go more "LEGO" with it you know?

Like, when I say "LEGO" I mean more detail and meant for older people, I mean, i don't know if this is true but i heard that LEGO sets are mostly bought by adults for collection purposes.

(don't get me wrong, i know bionicles are owned by LEGO, but im upset they killed it)

Making Shapeways kits for that exact purpose has been floating around in my head for a while. >>
>>5859250

For being the main villain of a story based toyline that lasted for 10 years, Makuta/Teridax sure got very few official toy deceptions of him.

All we've really had is the 2003 set, a solid figure that is sort of outdated in terms of height and articulation. All the others are combiners, like Makuta Nui or Ultimate Dume. Well, then there was Maxilos, who looked so much like an updated 2003 Makuta that I find it hard to believe it was a coincidence.

It's sort of funny that, once again, we have to rely on a combiner and other unofficial ways to get ourselves a toy form for Makuta.
>>
>>5861500
Maxilos was Makuta possessing a sentinel robot so the design semblance was probably deliberate

>>
>>5861528

Yeah I know, I'm saying that they fully intended for the Maxilos toy to act as a stand-in for Makuta. All you have to do is removing the Cordak blaster and giving him a Kraahkan, and he's pretty much Makuta from the 2003 game.

I'm sorry but this is just hilarious. This bastard has already had at least 10 people buy his mask and people are NOW just pointing out how inaccurate it is to the JtO version. Like, how was it not obvious? Were they just in denial because they wanted to believe that they weren't wasting money on a poorly sculpted piece?

And let's not forget the maker. There was an absolute shitload of photos to draw reference from, even simply freeze framing the flashback scene from JtO and not once did he realize how fucking squashed the silhouette of his model is compared to the source material? Come on. And putting "JtO Accurate" on his listing just makes it that much more baffling.

I dunno, but comparing both of them I somehow like the Shapeways version better.
Also, is not like the official MoUP was entirely accurate with the show form, as its eyes seem to be more separated, too much IMO.
>>
>>5862290
Yeah, I've been saying all of this from the beginning.
>>
>>5861991
I love how easy it is to store Makuta's staff on his back. It doesn't even plug in to anything either. It just perfectly rests between the gear, his collar, and one of the axe heads. Looks just like how it's seen on his back in the show too.
>>
>>5862316
No yeah, but that's just /biog/ that's known this. Everyone at TTV don't know how to compare and contrast it seems and will buy anything thrown up with MoUP in the title. What's even worse are those who think SirTumblewweds version isn't hot garbage that he rushed out the door to make a quick buck from the desperate. Like, that model looked bad the second I saw it. How that wasn't the same for others is just mind boggling.

>>5862311
Hey man, to each their own. I just prefer how the official one looks more akin to a star, and that shapeways one just has too fat of a forehead ring and top crest imo. To me, the big evil eyebrows are one of my favorite details and that version just doesn't do that well enough for me.
>>
>>5862290
all of this was incredibly obvious to anyone with even a rudimentary sense of design
>>
I'd like to see a version of the MOUP that doesn't look like it has fetal alcohol syndrome
>>
What if, just out of the blue, a 100% accurate MoUP model showed up on Shapeways without our knowledge that anyone else was working on one. Then the modeler turns out to be someone from Volta or Lego.

By the way, why would something like that be hard for them to do? If they're not going to profit from the design anyway, why withhold it from us? Why NOT upload it to Shapeways?
>>
>>5862363
That wouldn't be accurate, then.
>>
>>5862370
It would probably breach some kind of contract. You see how Faber had to delete a couple paragraphs that simply suggested too much? If my job (or potential future jobs) was on the line, I wouldn't risk it.
>>
>>5862378
it would be better, which is more important (at least to me)

>>5862380
I know a lot of people have contacted Lego about this, but what about Volta? Just for shits and giggles. Also, one of the designers of the Makuta models is within contact through TTV. What if we asked him to take precise measurements of the mask?

There has to be some way.
>>
>>5862383
I think you're more or less alone in that, then. You might as well just design a new fucking mask at that point. Most people are going to want accuracy above all else.

>>
>>5862396

I don't have a TTV account, but someone please give him this picture so he can see this shit and fix it. http://board.ttvchannel.com/t/shapeways-mask-of-ultimate-power/27337/201
>>
>>5862644
Oh, that's V2? I thought >>5862290 was. Well shit. I'll still hold out for MoUP anon but yeah, that's way better. 8/10
>>
>>5862290
Yeah, it's definitely flawed. Better than that other flat, blocky one, but still not perfect. The scummy part is how the modeler hasn't made any of the easiest fixes, presumably because he knows he has the best current option and will sell it either way.

I'm also waiting for MoUP-anon to deliver, and if he dies in a plane crash tomorrow I can probably model one just as accurate. I have moderate experience with Blender and curves are my only real challenge, which this is low on.
>>
>>5862392
This seems more reasonable. Ask him to take a micrometer gauge after it and write down:
>width from horizontal spike to horizontal spike
>width from lower spike to lower spike
>height from horn to chin
>depth from forehead to the very rearmost parallel surface
>distance between the tip of the horn to the end of the rear spikes
>distance between horizontal spike and tip of the horn
>widths of the forehead circle and its hole
A direct side-view photo would also be fantastic if we don't already have one.

>>5862644
>There are retards saying they prefer the heavily inaccurate version because they're too impatient to wait a day or two for the guy to fix the head connection

>he's even suggesting to make it inaccurate AGAIN to push it out basically today, again because he wants money and the fans are impatient

What the fuck is wrong with these guys? Like, it's supposed to be the MoUP and these dipshits would rather it not even look like the mask it's representing at the expense of all the others who just want an accurate version. Not saying there aren't better versions in the works but why not try to make it what it's supposed to be? Like how fucking selfish are these guys? Fucking make your own fucked version or request a separate listing so we can have both, instead of potentially fucking people who just want a version that looks like its source material.

TTV, everybody.

I wonder how MOUP anon's model is coming along.
>>
I think the thing that stings the most about the cancellation is just how much potential it had to me. I really, really liked the idea of a straight forward, 3-years-and-done story that wrapped up all the loose ends and died peacefully. I enjoyed the hell out of G1, but I admit it overstayed its welcome in the story department. G2 would've ended after a very appropriate amount of time, and all the sets were fuckin rad imo.

G2 must've done astronomically terrible for them to cancel outright like this. Like, this type of thing just doesn't happen out of the blue. This had to be decided months ago, so 2015 must've sold like shit.
>>
>>5863050
Meanwhile, Lego keeps telling us it sold well despite all the evidence to the contrary.

Or just don't waste your money and make a custom one
>>
>>5863048
Someone please ask the guy to make a separate listing for the newer version and request that instead of rushing it, he take the time to fix the head connection/possibly enlarge it without having to warp the dimensions and lose what accuracy it currently has. That way both parties can make their choice.
>>
>>5863072
That looks quite good, how does it look behind that mask? (MoL reference intended)
>>
>>5863059
Maybe it made more money than it cost to produce and market, but with so little profit that using the budget was better used literally anywhere else. We have no way of knowing what exactly they mean with something vague like "sold well".

I've made custom ones similar to your own except with the gold Kulta mask, but it's just not the same. I'd totally just do a custom if we never saw a real model for the MoUP, but we have, and it ended up being my favorite mask design of G2 as a whole. So no, customs don't cut it and I have money to burn. And I have faith in MoUP anon but Cyberhands is getting pretty close to the show model minus the rounded edges. My rant is simply if you plan on making the MoUP, don't fucking half ass it for the impatient brats whining about the time it's taking to finish it.

People are willing to buy this guys product and he's shitting on them for giving constructive criticism. They're not picky. They want an accurate MoUP and he decided to do it the hard way and not double check the dimensions of his piece before he put it up for sale, so it's his fault alone that he has to go back and revise the design.
>>
>>5863530
To be fair, the guy did include an "/s" in his original comment. He was being sarcastic, and It was more of a playful jab than a legitimate complaint about the community.
>>
>>5863576
Is that what that was? I thought he messed up trying to make a ":s" face.
>>
>>5863586
Yeah, no. Typing "/s" for sarcasm is a thing they do a lot on the TTV boards.
>>
>>5862651
No yeah, the head connector in this shot is clearly much larger in his net than on the head. It's also cocked upward too. If he just reduced the ratio of the head connectors to the rest of the mask, straightened them out and enlarged the piece as a whole to scale with the G2 head, it'd be good.

That's the part that pissed me off. It's been about three times where the guy has been like, "No, it's accurate enough" and refuses to change anything until people are brought to jump down his throat for the mistakes he's made. Can he not SEE the inaccuracies himself?
>>
>>5863619
I mean, he's sort of done this yet again. People tell him the mask goes over the eyestalk more, deactivating the pop-off mechanism. He just replies with "I've done this and I know it doesn't work well."

Well then?... TRY AGAIN. Do something different to MAKE it work. Obviously the fucking designers made it work well on theirs, so you're clearly doing something wrong.
>>
>>5863619
He has to be able to. If you ask me, he looked at SirTumbleweeds attempt, and figured he could 1up him and take his customers while also doing a half baked job because as of right now, there's no real competition. The fact that he posted a topic on TTV seems to be both part wanting to improve but also part wanting attention because "hey, I made a mask 10x better than that other guys!". Again, he plastered "JTO ACCURATE" on the Shapeways listing, when it was clearly off model. He probably thinks he's the only guy making a good MoUP and I'm going to love it when the anon here working on his version blows this pretentious bastard out of the water.

I bet you if people didn't call him out on his masks proportions being fucked and wanting improvements before purchase, he wouldn't have done shit and just have continued to take peoples money.
>>
>>5863628
I saw that even Rolloutreviews posted on the Shapeways page and said "This is okay, but I'm gonna wait until you make it more accurate" and Cyber Hand was just like. "Lolnope. This is as good as you're going to get."

I'd like to see this reflected in the storyline with a mediochre maskmaker who is just a belligerent little faggot. Though I guess Makuta was kind of that already.

>villagers, behold my creation! (only $14.99 plus tax)
>but makuta it's shit
>IT IS NOT
>Eh I'll just wait for Ekimu's version, seeya
>>
>>5863637
Like pottery.

>>5863636
Does he not realize that he'll get less customers/support if it's not accurate? Like, it's in his best interest to make it accurate. Again, I think it's because there's no competition currently so he's resting on his laurels and in turn being a prick about it.
>>
>>5863637
>A female Skull Raider named Roodaka is hired by Makuta to disguise herself and bring a young and ambitious villager named Vakama under her wing. He wants to be a mask maker, but Ekimu forbids it for fear that he'll be used by his brother to make another MoUP that can release Makuta. Roodaka tells him to follow his ambition and prove to Ekimu that he'll be the best mask maker who ever was.

The bulk of the jaw seems a little off, but that's the only small issue I have with it anymore. I suppose the edges could benefit from being a little smoother too, though. Speaking of which, I wonder how our Moupanon's final product will compare to this.

Apparently the Tower of Toa set was still being produced for a short while after Flat Dark Gold was discontinued and used up, which left the factory with no choice but to use the new Brutaka/Piraka gold until the set itself was discontinued. One of Greg's late-series bad ideas made it canonical through a BZP contest, so most people who have one aren't letting it go for less than a kidney.
>>
>>5867210

I'd like to see him with the Movie Edition Kraahkan on. I ignored that mask for a while but I've been pretty interested in it lately. Compared to the doughy looking regular Kraahkan, it looks a lot creepier, plus its smooth and angular shapes remind me a bit of the Mask of Ultimate Power itself.

Nah in terms of official variations of Makuta, this one is easily the best. The way he's built, the overall silhouette, his height and his two neat little weapons as well as the gearbox make him my favorite ccbs "set" by far. Grevious was cool, but he was gappy as hell. And Witch Doctor was great, but everything he did, Makuta does better.

Wow. Cyber Hand made two versions of the mask. A bigger version for titan Makuta after his transformation, and a smaller version from the same model for when he first forges the mask. I believe he conducted several test prints to make sure the connections on both of them fit well.

I appreciate that, actually. I think it's something I didn't know I wanted until just now.

The mask connectors. People are worried that they'll break depending on the material, right? Well CybeHands' mask isn't hollowed out in the back like most G2 masks, where the connectors are long, thin tabs jutting out. Instead he's carved the round nu and grooves that would be on said tabs into the sides of the cavity. In short, there shouldn't be any snapping, and if anything, bending is greatly reduced if not eliminated.

Sorcerer of Dread is probably my favorite entry so far though, much better than his Mask Breaker.
>>
>>5868575
Yours is a very good standard moc but not something extraordinary.

And I prefer the Mask Breaker over sorcerer, it conveys more of the type of Makuta that the designers tried to establish, Sorcerer is cool on his own right but the whole thing is very "un-Makuta"

Jokes, I know I'm know great shakes at MoCing. I like Sorcerer better because the design is a lot smoother; Breaker's "mask" is cool, but kinda uninspired. I also really like this "Ultimate Makuta" mostly because of the built-in Shadow Hand.

This is a big reason why I like My Maqt. I think she looks 'simple' enough to fit in with actual sets, instead of being overdesigned like most MOCs end up.

I'm probably going to swap the boobplate back for the gunmetal one instead of the gold one. I think the gold sticks out too much and blends with the mask too much.

I get what you mean. However, the shoulders are one... unit? Stud? thing smaller than Ekimu's shoulders, so they are still thinner than Ekimu. See >>5860274

There isn't much I can do with the chest. I liked the idea of using the Skull armor piece to represent breasts, thematically fitting in with the other Skull Army while also doing something different than Nuva tits. I could probably replace the trans-purple ribcage with a normal shell to make it smaller. But the goal for her was to make a female Skull Army character, which ended up mixing with Makuta because I thought fem Makuta would be interesting. That's why she has the skeleton bone pieces instead of normal bones.

The way the chest sticks out is a bit annoying, but it's the same problem with Kulta. If an official set gets away with it, I'm less annoyed about it here.

To this day, I find it funny that a minor villain like Karzahni (really, he was more important in 2006 than 2007) got a set and Artakha didn't.

Granted, he didn't have a Mask, he had awkward child bearing hips and the color scheme got changed for no reason at all (they could've at least used the blue/green look). So I wonder how much Artakha would've been fucked up if they made a set of him.

It's basically a expanded universe handbook for G1 lore, revolving around various locations and figureheads within the MU. That particular image was actually a fan's doing if I recall and he managed to get his design canonized and put in the book.

For a long time, it was the Power Pack. I loved the Tohunga and finally, one day, I ran into a display in a Wal-Mart that was full of them. But I had forgotten my wallet and my mother wouldn't buy it for me. I was 11 or 12 at the time. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending. When I first discovered Bricklink around 09, my very first purchase was a sealed Power pack for $20.

How long will it be before most sets rise above thier msrp on bricklink? I don't think I'll get the sets for jot koota soon but I wouldn't want to wait too long. The original art in that book was actually done by official artists. Their names inspired canonized Order of Mata Nui members.

For the longest time, it was Tahu Mata and Nuva. They were my favorites, but I got into Bionicle a year or two late. We not only lived quite a ways from Walmart/TRU/anything of the sort, but my family was one of those that thought turning on a computer would result in a stolen identity, so ordering was out of the question too. I wanted those bastards for my entire childhood. But finally in 2009, ironically the year before bonkle was kill, a family member ordered them both for me. I was thrilled to finally get them, but I was 16 too so it wasn't quite the same as growing up with them. So you better believe I went as far as to pre-ordering Master Tahu when G2 first came about. It was symbolic to grab him so early on for me.

Cahdok and Gahdok, honestly. I missed out on Muaka and Kane Ra, and that set was both fundamentally similar AND (To eight year old me) infinitely cooler, and I pine on that set from the second it appeared in Lego Mania. It was all I talked about. Yet Christmas passed, no Bahrag Twins. My birthday passed, no Bahrag Twins. And now, roughly fourteen years later, I've finally won an auction for about four fifths of the parts. It feels nice knowing in a couple weeks I'll finally have closure on this.

I remember looking at it in a store, all tantalizing, but my family had no money for it (even though the price it had at the time seems like nothing now). Some years ago I found three separate eBay auctions for it and that was it, I got one, putting a 12 year wait to rest.
