Just picked it up today. The light is very nice. It's nice to Finally a gypsy that can fucking stand up for more than a few days.

The new hips are very appreciated and actually allow the legs to be posed.

All of the ones I seen had mishapend reactor holes, to fix just heat up the area and stick the fire blast effect in and let it cool to the proper circular shape.

So I just picked up the Ultimate Edition Gipsy Danger kind of on a whim, I saw two dog xenos and still feel like I'm going to regret walking away from them even though I have one coming in the mail but I digress. Straight out of the box both of Gipsy's elbow joints were broken in two, I mean the bit that the post goes through not what the ball joint is connected to so I was wondering if anyone has had the same issues with this figure or if this kind of shit QC is a problem with the other Jeager figures?

I want NECA to get the rights to IT so we can get a classic Tim Curry Pennywise. I'd but the reboot one too, even though I'm not too hot on the design. Theyve said IT is "too niche" but everyone knows IT, c'mon.

If they did Pennywise it'd probably be one of their retro styled figures because of the baggy clown clothes wouldn't work well as a sculpted figure, but I'd rather have a figure that'd be in scale with my other horror guys.

I do too. It'd be my dream line if they redid all those figures and more with updated articulation, that's why I'm so excited for pic related. It's just nowadays, especially with the money it costs to have that articulation, it's not profitable to make figures from niche horror movies. Just the big guys like Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Chucky.

That's what's cool about the retro cloth line, they're cheaper to make so it's better financially to take a risk with them, like the Captain Spaulding they're doing or the Friday the 13th Part V Roy, or Chop Top from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.
Unfortunately theyre dolls with baggy awkward looking cloths and not in scale with the other horror figures.

Got the arm fixed. Sword is too floppy for my preferences but whatever. Had to hair dry both his arms to get the ball joints in. Paint still rubs off. He ain't no Robot Damashii but I guess he's decent for the price.

Update - I just took the elbow joint out of Anchorage Attack Gipsy and gave it to Ultimate Gipsy, it's a little loose but working just fine

I've glued the broken elbow joint, waiting for it to dry in case I can get it onto Anchorage Attack. It's not big deal if I can't though, I only really bought it for the plasmacaster.

I liked Pacific Rim but I've never bought a figure from NECA, every time i think about it I almost instantly see somebody bitching about the line.

Honestly it seems like a pain in the ass, what do you guys think?

Well, I have every figure (except for the many versions of Gypsy and Hardship) so i'll tell you my thoughts.

The initial first figures were garbage. Knifehead had like, 5 POAs and he's small as shit. Funny enough though, there's actually a canon kaiju who looks exactly like Knifehead except he's small as shit, so i guess it works. Gypsy was hasbro film-of-the-month tier. Crimson was alright, thank god, because that's the only version we got of him.

First wave Striker was alright, but obviously the ultimate is way better. Leatherback was the next Kaiju released and he's obviously a huge step-up from Knifehead, but is super smal scale-wise and has really weird articulation. His legs and fingers move, but like, barely at all. It's weird.

Chenro is where the line really gets perfected, along with deluxe Kaiju releases that are near perfect. They're big, movable, nice paint aps, and hefty. Only one that is worth critiquing is Scunner, as he's not scaled right, but I personally love him. It's too bad we didn't get a deluxe version of Leatherback but whatever.

Both Otachi's are great, winged one comes with a flight stand, and the land one has some really crazy tail articulation. All the prologue Jaegers are really cool, except that Coyote Tango will literally dive of your shelf because he feet are weirdly curved.

Now, the biggest issue with the line is the obvious breaking of joints as you can see in this thread. Now I feel weird saying this because it makes me sound like a Neca shill, but I have almost 200 Neca products (Aliens, Predators, Pacific Rim, whatever) and almost none of them have had any sort of quality control issues. It could be that I don't mess with them enough to really cause and friction on the joints, but almost none of them have broken, compared to my friend who buys Necas just like me, as his break all the time. Again, i'm no shill, I think Neca makes some really fucking retarded decisions (Weird Al, are you serious?), but I digress.
