Are saint seiya toys expansiv? post saint seiya.

Yes, even their candy toy level figures are really expensive. They really shouldn't be more than 1500jpy. I tried getting into the line but all 3 I own left me disappointed. Ikki even had a big flaw but I couldn't bother to try to exchange it.

Panoramation, right? I read somewhere that Bandai put that line out with 3rd world markets in mind.

Doubtful. The cheapest is still just under 3000 yen while the most expensive is in the ballpark of 6000 yen. They probably should have just done the figures without the build part.
>>
>>5853528
Poor guy. That is literally my biggest toy fear.
>>
>>5853526
It's not true. It's just a way to sell the same characters to the same people one more time.
>>
>>5853528
Jesus. How did that even happen? Unless these toys are ungodly heavy even the cheapest shittiest Walmart brand bookcase should have held them up with no problem.
>>
>>5853118
>>5851232
Gold Saints are trash.

Make some figures of other characters for once.

I've been on a vintage figure buying spree these last few months. As expensive as these are, they're just too damn cool.

On a related note, anybody have a right shoulder for the vintage V1 Cygnus they can spare?
>>
Get the bootlegs. They're usually better than the original. They're about 30 bucks
>>
>>5855248
Not OP, but are there any bootlegs that have metal as well as the parts for the object mode? Most bootlegs I've seen seem to lack at least one of those, usually the object mode.
>>
>>5855294
Dude, there's a bootleg company called Metal Club! You might want to research, but I wouldn't doubt that they have more metal parts than Bandai
>>
>>5855301
I've seen those, but unfortunately, those also leave out the object mode. They look really good though, so I'll probably check them out at some point.

The only ones I've seen with the object modes were the ones from QQ Model, but the jist I'm getting from reviews I've seen of those is that they're simply okay. Any thoughts on those?
>>
I'm hoping a decent bootleg company will make the bronze saints in OCE colors.

I've been looking into the Vintage line recently. How is the diecast content on these figures? I'd love to collect the Specters.
>>
>>5855180
How expensive is an original from the 80's? i want to buy them all eventually.
>>
>>5851170
How is the quality of this KO? I have several genuine Seiya releases and all of them are yellowing. It's getting me mad as fuck.
>>
Some of them aren't

>>
>>5861084

Depends on the figure but most of the time diecast is like 75% or more of the armor. Unless you buy their new Panoramation line which is pure plastic.
>>
>>5861084
Like what >>5861616 said, usually 75% or more depending on the figure. Unfortunately, the HK originals like the Spectres and the Silver Saints tend to have less. The Surplice Gold Saints are the worst since they only have metal feet, skirts, and chests. They still look very nice though. Thankfully the reissues of the 80s ones retain the metal content of the originals.

>>5861084
On average I paid 40-50 USD each shipped to the US for the ones here >>5855180 . Some like the Gold Saints and V2 Bronze Saints go for less while others like the V1 Bronze Saints go for more due to popularity. There are a few that are rare like Kraken and Zeta Bud, so expect to pay about $200 for those. Mind you, these prices are for ones with box and manual so you might find them cheaper loose. Look for auctions if you want deals since ones listed as BIN tend to be way overpriced. There's also the reissues from the 2000s, but stay away from the HK ones since those tend to have paint flaking. The European and Latin American reissues are better than that in that regard.
>>
>>5851170
nah, they do not cover a wide area

Thanks for the tips I was going to shoot for the HKs but it is good to know despite the Latin I open window packages looking cheap that they are better with the flaking.

Are there any figures in particular that flake more than others?
>>
>>5861704
How to recognize the figure is original? they could easily replace the original figure with a bootleg, you even have 3 on your pic.

I think the earlier HK figures are the ones that flake more, ie Bronze, Gold, Steel. I believe the later figures like the HK originals have better paint, but I've seen some of those flake as well so be advised. If you do buy one ask the seller for pictures of the parts to see if there's any damage. Pic related is the armor for a Marine Cloth that I have so you can see how bad it can get.

>>5862067
I already knew those were bootlegs when I bought them since I'm collecting those as well. Most of the original Bandai ones I got were from Japan, so if you buy from there you shouldn't worry. For boxed figures, the engrish text is a dead giveaway. Every bootleg I've seen also has all copyright and logos removed from the box and figure. All official figures (except the 2000 Italian reissues) say Bandai on the bottom of the feet, so if its missing that chances are its a bootleg. Plastic quality isn't the best indicator since even Bandai's own plastic varied from figure to figure. The best indicator I think is the paint application and excess flash. I have a few bootlegs with great quality plastic, but literally every one I have has sloppy paint and lots of flash and excess plastic. Missing paint apps or incorrect colors are another good sign. IIRC, the St. Fighter V2 Dragon had armor that was lighter than the original Bandai one.

The proportions are all kind of fucked up but damn, those articulations were so ahead of their time. I remember being 8 or 9 and being so blown away by how crazy posable the base body was when I got my first one (Gold Leo).
>>
>>5864430
I kinda like the proportions. That and the scupt of the figures remind me of old Chogokin toys from the 70s-80s. But you're right on the articulation, they were much better than they had any right to be. The only other figures I can think of at around that time and scale that had a comparable amount of articulation were GI Joes and Microman/Micronauts, and those still weren't as posable as the Saint Seiya toys.

Wasn't this a web exclusive? Why is it so cheap?
>>
>>5865760
No one gives a shit about OCE apparently, I think people only bought leo OCE because they wanted a cheaper version of leo ex.

Its a shame too, because they went back to making OCE convention exclusives.
