thinking about getting a job at TRU for the free time I have before my classes, can I get some experiences, pluses to the job, shitty parts about the job, etc.?
>>5837960
>kid is so badass he has one earring
>>5837960
Pluses to the job are that the store has a lot of down time just moving shit around. The shitty parts are moving HUGE ass boxes around with bikes in them, dealing with shitty kids whose parents think the store is a daycare and needing to mop up piss puddles, and also not to mention dealing with "CAN I SPEAK TO THE MANAGER" moms. You also get to see neckbeards buy ponies which is entertaining.
>>5837981
god this sounds like a nightmare.
>>5837981
How hard is the "moving huge boxes" part? The others just seem like people things. I don't mind handling waste or pissy customers unless they're violent.
>>5837960
if you are nice and helpful to moms, some times they let you eat them out in the bathroom
>>5838032
How frequent do young/hot milfs hang out at TRU. I'll do anything to eat the fuck out them, front and behind.
Fugly milfs could just fuck off.

this nigga
Get a job at a movie theater trust me. Hours are flexible and there's plenty of downtime between sets.
>>5838142
mostly around x-mas and the like, that being said, when I say "Sometimes" I mean once

Sometimes you get a forklift thing. Sometimes you don't. Think about it that way. Forklift and similar tools are fun, when you can't get one life sucks and they don't pay your health insurance for a chiropractor.
>>5838207
Alright, then how dangerous of loads are being managed? I don't much think about my back's health. I live in the NY area if this makes any difference.
>>5839152
>I don't much think about my back's health.
You should. I wrecked my back when I was 24 because I assumed that I was too young to permanently cripple myself.
>>5840209
Oh, I've never thought anything like that, I know well that my back is already a bit fucked up, hell even my hip gives me trouble sometimes and it's bad enough I can't really walk without limping. I just want to know how dangerous like shears-off-your-fingers dangerous it is.
I was a front end supervisor for TRU, my first job and I was there for 2 years. I started as a cashier/electronic specialist. In all honesty the actual job isn't hard at all its the people lol. Are you wanting to do truck crew or just a regular cashier/customer service?
>>5837960
Look op trust me, it's not worth it. They pay pretty shitily and you have to deal work more corporate induced bullshit than its worth. They'll only give you decent hours if you sell credit cards. That's all they fucking care about. It's not worth the 8.50 when you could work at a grocery store or something and make 11-12 and not have to try to force credit debt onto people. The only thing keeping me there right now is that i can't just get another job before going back to school and won't be able to get one easily when i get back.
Also if it's a combo bru and tru expect bullshit hour rivalries and competitive shit for no reason.
When I was in college I worked overnight at a TRU stocking. Shit was pretty boss. You get locked in a toystore over night and all you have to do is bust through boxes of toys and put them on shelves. When we finished early we would ride scooters around and play catch with footballs.
I quit when they wanted me to work during the day though, fuck that.
>>5838177
You also get to watch a shit ton of movies.
Unfortunately the person who owned the theater I worked at sold it, and the person who bought it fired nearly everybody.
>>5840245
agree with this guy completely. i work in back of house and make a couple bucks more than everyone else, but if i was making minimum wage there id fucking kill myself. the customers suck and corporate doesnt give two fucks about you

If they're fugly then they aren't milfs. Fugly milf is an oxymoron.
Get a job at The Lego Store instead.

Fun retail job. Not a lot of benefits.
You'll enjoy working there for the most part except for a couple things:
1) Holidays are INSANE and they bring in short-timers who are effectively useless. you will have ZERO free time from mid November through January.
2) The music loop. Especially during the holidays is grating and evil. I really hope you're good at tuning out that kind of shit or you'd better be ready to sacrifice some of your sanity.
3) the absolute WORST part of all retail jobs nowadays is that all employees are supposed to hock add-on shit like credit cards and the fucking Buyer Protection Plans. Holy fucking shit the BPPs. You are also directly gauged and ranked according to your performance with getting people to buy that shit/sign up. I HATED having to hock shit in my retail jobs. So glad that's past now.
