Is there any good figures from the Dragon Ball series?
>>5837327
No. Nothing good coming, either. The kid Goku that Bandai has planned is post-DB era reimagining and only scrubs and mexicans think it looks halfway decent.
>>5837339
Is there anything that's decent? Say Bandai?
Dude S.H Figuarts are best. They make Dragon Ball Z figures. They are better than decent. Except when you get tricked into getting one of the datong chinese ripoffs.
Oh crap. You mean Dragon Ball. Well I have heard S.H. are going to make a Little Goku from Db and DB Gt
>>5837327
Several years back, there were some boxed diorama figures that were decent. I want to say Infinity Labs? But I mean decent as in decent for a US toy, not decent if you're expecting the perfect Figuarts. Really a shame that Bandai is such a foot dragger on DBZ and altogether disinterested in DB.
Faintly.
>>5837408
Nice statue
>>5837339
Not OP, but Toriyama's style changed quite a bit from DB to the end of DBZ. Kid Goku, Kid Krillen, and Pre-Namek Gohan were all chubby kids meanwhile Goten and Trunks were ripped at that same age. I mean, yeah, source material accuracy is preferred but does anyone REALLY want a Kid Goku built like Eric Cartman?
>>5837396
i personally haven't dealt with them but i hear that they are pretty awful
also that goku will probably run you 50ish if it comes out
>>5837419
>does anyone REALLY want a Kid Goku built like Eric Cartman?
...yeah. Chubby Kid Goku is neat.
>>5837460
50 bucks and for only that small figure? I could see for the full sized ones like SS goku but sheesh
>>5837327
there are some good gashapon figures by Banpresto, there's also the new Bandai Styling which are pretty nice for the price too
>>5837396
>Nice that's what I was looking for! When will this be available and how much?
he's on limbo since last year
but don't worry, he's not alone
>>5837460
The recent Datong Frieza was brilliant for a bootleg
>>5837556
> this is what poorfags actually believe
>>5837556
i honestly dint know that, i actually love it when bootleggers get good at what they do
It's a shame Bandai and Toei are so intertwined, because kid Goku would lend himself really well to a Nendoroid.

My problem with this figure is that the sculpt and proportions are so shitty. That facial expression sucks too. I'm a huge proponent of articulation, but in this case, I made an exception to actually have a good looking Goku on my shelf. This is the one I bought, it has swappable arms, hair, and faces, is a reasonable size to scale with 1/12 figures, didn't cost much, and best of all, it has a great sculpt. I'm good with this I think.
>>5837419
i just want a kid goku, either the old chubby or modern redesign, and other DB characters, a master roshi with perverted faces would be great, and a buffed up version would be a dream come true
>>5837942
I really like this one.
>>5837419
Yes, you 14 year old faggot. People that grew up with something, quite unsurprisingly, want that thing to exist. If somebody was trying to sell you a 2017 Mustang claiming it's a 1964 1/2 model, you probably wouldn't be very satisfied.
>>5837942
What company is this?
>>5838168
Bandai Shokugan...it's actually a (big) candy toy! It was like 1000yen when it came out, but sadly the price seems to have gone up...I'm seeing $30 or so from Amazon and eBay, and even Mandarake most recently sold him for 2500yen.
I don't know if I'd say it's worth that to most people, but I thought the sculpt was really fantastic so I bit the bullet and I'm happy with it.
>>5838181
The new ones go for 1200yen without tax, it'll be around that when we get a reissue unless they don't bother increasing. Right now it's only P-Bandai (blue shirt) or OOP and sold out in most online retailers.
magnet action
>>5838233
I have that Goku!
>>5837570
I own both, dummy. The main difference between the Datong and Bandai Frieza is the purple paint.
>>5837377
that looks awful. damn monkey's paw
>>5839086
>Is it weird that I already see the SHF DBZ figures as looking incredibly old and outdated by modern standards?
Not really, most of them are pretty shit, but seems to me that they're getting better after Awakening Goku.
Medicom had the perfect sculpt and outfit but they made him a statue, wtf
>>5839298
I like his chubby arms, they're cute. His head looks kinda small in comparison though, and his clothes seem a bit poorly fit. I'd go with the Shokugan.
>>5837327
>we will never have an articulated short/chubby DB Goku and instead will only ever get shit like >>5837377
>>5837339
It DOES look good.
Doesn't look anything like the source material but it does look good.
Are you blind or something?
>>5841122
>junky sculpts with droopy and randomly disconnected parts of the outfits
>gorilla arms that have poor piece-to-piece integration and look like they were joined together from 3 different figures
>blob hair
Take away the joints, look at the sculpt itself, and you'd have to be King Retard of Retardtopia to think they're FIFTEEN years of innovation better than the Irwin junk.

>>5841267
You're one of those who think that figuarts Cell looks fine, right?
>>5839086
I think it's just the designs.
Nothing from Dragon Ball translates well into articulated figures because of how much Toriyama loves his hammer pants.
>>5841267
No, he's not. I own most and even I can say many of the early ones have sculptural issues, especially with likenesses and proportions. Awakening goku is a standout because they gave a fuck. 17 and 18 are the best otherwise in terms of looks.
>>5841570
>17 and 18 are the best otherwise in terms of looks.
I agree with this anon
>>5841267
So, you're retarded. That's a really special contribution to this board, kiddo.
