Most of the time, a painted prototype will go up for preorder within a couple months of when it was shown, a grey unpainted prototype within 6 months, and when there's no prototype (just an illustration), you're looking at up to a year before preorders go up. He actually has a pretty good range of movement in the arms and legs for what they are. The thing I'm most impressed with are the articulated eyebrows though. You can basically use them to create any expression you want, soo much better than having various alternate heads to switch out. Really I only got this for the bong and beer bottle accessories (which are both great, the bong is accurate and the beer bottles a beer bottle) but the figure actually surprised me with how well thought out it is.

I understand WHY Max Factory has to do this but that doesn't mean i'll support the practice because it just encourages them to do it more.

For anyone curious, Max Factory has to do this to survive because retailers take a 50% cut. This wasn't a problem when the yen wasn't fucked like it is now because they had lots of buying power which meant cheaper toys which meant more total units sold.

Now they have less buying power which means higher priced toys which means less collectors can afford to buy them which means prices go up even more to maintain minimum acceptable profit margins which means even less people buy them. So the web shop stuff helps offset that and keep figma from going up even more.
