Let us come together and talk about a topic near and dear to my heart...Toy Soldiers!
There is nothing quite so satisfying as getting a couple of armies out and having a battle.
Here we see the British and Hessian forces attempting to seize a Colonial and French position.

Some other shots from the same battle.
British attack!

this game got me into toy soilders. i have soilders, cowboys&indians, firemen and policemen. i currently have mine stored. will try to post pics tommorow. some even came with combos like a giant ass helecopter and a few army men. i always loved these as a kid
OP so glad you made this thread... You are indeed right, for cheap, light hearted fun...nothing beats some good 'ol fashioned plastic army men.

That game, and Toy Story got me into army men.
Any of you /toy/ fags have any good sites that still them in bulk, or have any more specialized units? Where do you bbuy your guys from?
>>5831911
back then they were always cheap in TRU, 99cent stores sold them, and in the toy isles of drug stores.
now that i'm old i buy my stuff from amazon. TRU charges a arm and a leg for everything they sell nowadays

pic related was so nice, i bought it thrice. pretty much the best thing to come out of a Toy story lego theme
Back in my poor days, i had more army men than action figures. army men were halved in factions, while my action figures were "special summons" to turn the tides

have a great site for the Fantasy equivalent;

Where did you get these figures at?

These days, in Britain at least most Army Men are of awful quality or tiny. The only place that still sells good ones new is Toys R Us but charity shops are flooded with older ones.
I found a bag with about 100 guys plus a bunch of ninjas for £1.

50 (well 48) savage nips for a fiver
>>5833024
Problem is those are not in toy shops and people usually only buy them if they intend to paint.
They are also smaller and more fragile than army men. Army men sized ones are £9 for 14.

For you! This is one of my older Civil War Displays.
Check out toddstoysoldiers.wordpress.com for my most recent one.

I check out your site at least once a week. It is one of my favorite blogs.

They are a mix of BMC(or chinese clones), Accurate, A Call to Arms, and Barzso.
I can be more specific if you are looking for a particular pose.

It is the same over here as well. Finding decent toy soldiers is hard. Wal Mart just came out with a nice set of Pirates vs Pirate Skeletons and Sci-Fi Starship trooper types.

OP Here.
Here are a couple of sellers I use on the regular. There are prices are varying.
toysoldiersdepot.com
toysoldierco.com
sierratoysoldier.com
classictoysoldiers.com
You can also spend some time looking through e-bay. I find random lots that are decent on occasion.
I will also look at local flea markets, yard sales, and toy shows.

What's the best website to get large quantities of Revolutionary War era soldiers? I'm wanting to build a big Risk army.
I appreciate people who love "historical" armies but I want to build Sci-Fi kick ass stuff!!
I did buy some Storm Troopers for a Imperial army!
I want to list troop building army men for a Sci-Fi theme.
1. Terminators (Sarah Connor?)
2. Star Trek-Federation
3. Star Trek-Borg
Any other suggestions??

There a tiny Stormtrooper toy soldiers or do you mean actionfigures?

Check out some of the sites listed in this post >>5833516.
You can also check out Amazon or E-bay for BMC or their chinese clones. This will only net you 4 colors though. Black, White, Red, and Blue.

I know of the following sci-fi armies that exist in 54mm-1/32-classic army men scale.
-Wal Mart Corps Elite. They look kind of like Starship troopers.
-Zerglings and Space Marines. Blizzard came out with this set. They come in packs of 18 (9 per side) with 3 poses for each.
-Star Wars Command by Hasbro. This line ended about a year ago but you can still find on Amazon, e-bay, and some second hand brick and mortar stores such as TJ Maxx or Marshalls. They did a wide variety figures covering rebels, storm troopers, clone troopers, droids, heroes, etc.
Plus there are classic astronauts and the like floating around. There are also a couple of older sci-fi soldiers floating around but then tend to be far more expensive.

I forgot to mention the Aliens Franchise toy soldiers. There is a set of colonial marines vs aliens out as well.
