old thread >>5829415
so, what else have you got to talk about?
>>5829772
Speculation on what toy robots you would want to see in the future?
>>5829772
Fucks sake right out the damn gate...
I gotta say he turned out really nice.
>>5829817
Solid proportions.
No QC nightmare (so far).
No partsforming.
No wrong colors.
No shit gimmicks.
Best devastator so far imo.
>>5829726
Oh cool, Takara's making MP Trailbreaker next?
>>5829928
No partsforming whatsoever??
>>5829950
The forearms are separate peaces that become little generators to be towed along in vehicle mode but you don't ever have to detach them in any mode.
Mixmaster has a little rubber heel that becomes his missile hat in robot and vehicle mode (It basically only detaches when he's a foot).
But yeah there's basically no partsforming.
>>5829817
That is a godly Devastator.
>>5829817
Been rooting for this guy right out of the gate - glad to see everything seems to have turned out alright.
>>5829817
>People went with toyworld
Why are the 3rd party threads so much more pleasant than the regular TF threads? Is it the lack of Takara vs. Hasbro wars?
>>5829967
There's a lot of salt when someone posts a nice MP and then poorfags get up in arms because the deluxe is "just as good".
>>5829817
Yeah yeah another Devy out of the 40 we already have+the actual superior UW version.
Whens the fucking Megatron coming out already, he's the only thing interesting out of this whole thing.
>>5829967
>Someone mincing about the official Galvatron being shit
>Tell him that Fanstoys is coming out with an excellent looking Galvatron
>"OMFG Turd Party overpriced piece of shit stealing ideas hail takara"
>"Buying unoffical trash" *Tips Fedora*
>"I'd rather have hollow arms and floppy joints than ever risk spending that much money on something that could be better! What? Watch Reviews? Hasbro can do no wrong!"
Never again.
>>5829803
>Speculation on what toy robots you would want to see in the future?
That sounds good.
Personally, I would like to see a Soundwave based on this design. His legends figure left me disappointed so I need something else to fill the void.
>>5829995
>Calling the colossal piece of shit that is the UW turd superior to anything
YOU PAID EXTRA FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF ELBOW JOINTS
>>5829817
How big is he scaled next to Combiner Wars?
I threw together an estimated comparison between these figures based on other images we've seen. I'm actually kind of falling in love with the TransArt version, it improves on the original in a lot of subtle ways.
>>5830026
CW Devastator is 17".
Gravity Builder will be about 15" tall.
I saw a comparison of the CW foot and GT foot and Gravity builder is going to be a lot more beefy looking. UW height comes from mostly legs because of the way the knees work and attach.
>>5830034
I have to commend the TransArt for basically being a straight update of a really shitty design. It's a pretty damn close recreation of the original toy, but with more articulation.
>>5830010
>the literal best, most accurate Devy ever
>shit
Bait/10. Nice try, fuckwad, but no one would ever fall for trolling that poor.
>>5830034
I prefer the look of the Perfect Effect not!Optimal Optimus.
The proportions on him just seem better on him.
>>5830061
>Optional elbows
>Robots that are oversized legends tier complex
>Virtually no paint
>Noodle arms
>Slab torso
>Mile long legs
>Morbidly obese long haul
>Throwaway robot modes
>No articulated fingers
Keep calling it bait senpai. Won't help your buyers remorse.
>>5829726
So everyone agrees MMC won the traibreaker wars, but a lot of people are saying BC is winning the Hoist one. That doesn't make any sense to me.
>>5829803
I really want IF to make a Tarn to go with their other Phase Sixers guys.
>>5829971
This. Alot of collectors that are cheap and bitter about it. I hate to dump on legitimate poor people but it's open season on these fucks.
Anyway, I'm pretty excited for BadCube's Hoist.
What are the odds of a third party making an upgrade set for TR skullsmasher's legs?
>>5830088
>but a lot of people are saying BC is winning the Hoist one
Mostly because it being done by another company means it won't be a repaint.
I haven't followed third party figures/manufacturers, how is Badcube because Trailbreaker looks awesome.
>>5830203
Generally solid now that they have a few releases under their belt and come with a bunch of accessories. They tend to have stumpy cartoon proportions on purpose. Their transformation schemes as of late have been fairly complicated.
>>5830088
Pic of MMC Hoist?
>>5830210
That's good to hear, what's the best place to buy 3rd party bots?
>>5830220
They've only shown the alt mode.
>>5830221
BBTS
Captured Prey
TF Source
The Chosen Prime
Ages 3 and up
Robot Kingdom
Planet Steel Express
Aces Toy Store
Action Robo
All places I've bought from but I mainly use The Chosen Prime or Captured Prey for their benefits/discounts.
>>5829817
lol what.
People actually chose the TW version over this?
>>5829817
UW Devastator is perfect for me, but this is honestly the best looking 3P Devastator. Even though his head isnt that accurate
>>5829817
Looks better than TW but I still prefer UW Devastator over any of the 3P Devys.
>>5830043
Damn, that's huge. I was referring to the Scramble style combiners but that gives me a good idea of how big he is, considering that the combiners are all about 12" tall, with PE upgrades added.
Also just wonderingg, but how big is Planet X Genesis in comparison to CW combiners?
>>5829803
A new CHUG-sized Bruticus (possibly Legends if the IF Swindle is part of a team).
>>5830061
>accurate
Shut up dumb blind kid.
>>5830230
Yet people already "prefer" BadCube's? That's retarded.
>The only turd party Bruticus is filled with fucking issues and mediocrity
MMC Bruticus when.
>>5830230
UMD gave us a first look at it.
>>5830747
hmm, I might go with BC for hoist and MMC for TB. I just hope their QC improves.
>>5830853
Wrong pic.
GOD
DAMN
FUCKING
PRE ORDERED
>>5830880
Is this the triplechanger one or a new Megatron? Looks fucking sexy.
>>5830882
Part of Maketoys new CrossDimension line. Don't think he's a triple changer but I'm stoked to see his Alt Mode.
New fag here, after seeing how the upcoming TR Sixshot is much too blocky for my tastes, I would like to know opinions on the MMC Hexatron. It looks good if a little expensive. Are there any other Not-Sixshot's I should consider?
>>5831139
There's the legends-scale Sixshot. There's also the Clonedroid knock off of Hexatron, which is a bit cheaper.
>>5831139
IF is coming out with a Sixshot if you're into legends scale stuff.
Hoooo-wee this is worth it.
Makes CW Bruticus as badass looking as the old ROTF upgraded one. The uguu eyes did him no favors.
>>5831306
Big back cannons do so well too. Only wish the backpack that the stock created on Shockwave wasn't so big, but otherwise this is good shit.
Now just to wait on Venksta's Blastoff head.
>>5831306
What shotguns are those? It's so hard to find weapons that scale properly for the combiners and still use 5mm pegs.
>>5831310
Does the shockwave-extender make him look as retarded as it does in the promo shots?
How do the head and cannons attach on? Is he still transformable?
Can you post more of that butt on the pad there?
>>5831310
do you have an art blog, anon?
>>5831318
It was time well spent.
>>5831346
Head is way better in every way. You get a swivel side to side and a hinge up and down, gives about the same range of motion as MP Sideswipe, more than enough, honestly. Makes him look mean as shit looking down on puny things.
The back cannons are alright, good as guns for him but look oversized on Onslaught. Still better than the transformed feet cannons though. Look fucking perfect beyond words on Bruticus' back though, holy fuck.
>>5831378
Shotguns are from this out of date, busted retard. The Fanstoys upgraded ROTF Bruticus. Thing was alright when I got it but it's garbage in every way comparably. Tempted to just sell him on ebay and keep this shotguns and big cannon for the CW one.
Shockwave with the extender in Gun mode looks fine, no complaints. Can still peg into the back. Head and cannons can stay on during transformation to Slaught or truck, no issue there.
>>5831395
I do actually. Just reverse image search those two earlier Bruticus pics and I should pop up. Don't want to derail the thread with asses.
>>5830687
Eat shit faggot, and accept that sometimes HasTak makes superior offerings for a better price. Enjoy your sour grapes $600 piece of buyers remorse shit greeblestator's that aren't accurate to a fucking thing.
>>5831139
Hexatron is amazing, and definitely worth the $120-140 he goes for. Sometimes you can nail him for a bit cheaper on eBay used, as there were 2 versions of him and sometimes people sell one get the cash for the other, depending on their taste.
>>5830855
Those are some nice looking CHUGs. Why are they as tall as MP ironhide though?
>>5831434
Consider the fact that your "accurate" design is a piece of shit.
>>5831395
>>5831378
Well reverse didn't work, here you go fags: the-tammaro.tumblr com/
And seriously he holds these shotguns way too well, throwing Onslaught's original guns in the bin.
>>5831496
>here you go fags: the-tammaro.tumblr com/
doesn't work, anon...
>>5830689
Oh look, it was revealed today and it's a green Trailbreaker. You should feel stupid.

>>5831442

>>5831439
Looks like it can switch, I thought that too but looking at his arms they both seem pretty symmetrical
>>5831496
>the-tammaro.tumblr com/
cheers brother, sent you a message
Shit I think I might sell Herc and Giant Off....
>>5831627
>>5831434
Just because it's accurate doesn't make the rest of it good. The figures themselves are fucking terrible. I still don't have a Devastator because everyone has a boner for making combiners huge. My only option is Giant and I'm still going to wait.
>>5831647
>The figures themselves are fucking terrible
they're just as good as any transformer out now, stop making it such a big deal
what makes them bad anyway?
and please dont say MUH HOLLOW PARTS
hollow doesnt mean shit. MP-10 would be just as good had he been hollow, because a good design is still there.
stop whining
>>5831696
>they're just as good as any transformer out now, stop making it such a big deal
Dude I like them well enough, but this thread is full of people who think so much as touching a Hasbro/Takara toy outside MP devalues their collection. You know what replies you're gonna get.
>>5831434
Your fisher price toy isn't accurate to shit. Go cry to your mom about it.
>>5831696
>hollow doesnt mean shit
>MP-10 would be just as good had he been hollow, because a good design is still there.
>>5831434
>thinking reedun frontloader Mixmaster with tiny foot is "accurate"
>>5829726
These threads are so chill
that is, until someone mentions Devastator, then it all goes to shit, /tfg/ style
>>5829726
>mmc's robot mode with badcube's hatch
would it have been so difficult to do that, mmc?
and this just sold me on BC.
>>5830878
Here's someone's shoop based on the colored drawing MT released.
Picked up IF Evil Lord at Ebay for Cheap what am I getting into?
>>5831969
A great slightly larger than most Legends, Legends figure.
Name a 3P that you think will be a thing in the next 18 months.
>>5832044
MMC and Iron Factory hopefully.
>>5830034
you realize the transart one is tiny right? Like smaller than MP Optimus Primal.
>>5832082
Pretty sure that's the reason he posted that image and all. If you notice, it's a vague estimate of size.
>>5832044
3P compatible Combiner Wars or Titan Return toys, upgrade kits for Titan Returns, upgrade kits for Last Knight, IDW based style
>>5832044
Might be cool, but RiD has been kind of buried. Doesn't help that every other series is now "Robots in disguise". Shame, because it really kicked off the whole G1 resurgence.
Transmetal II or even regular Transmetal Megatron are probably a given with Optimal Optimus coming. DEpending on how far the BW MP line goes we may see some more gap fillers for that. I feel Dinobot is a given since Takara is probably hesitant to attempt that design and 3Ps won't be as beholden to 100% show accuracy. Back on RiD; I can see TransArt doing a reolded KO of Gigatron to use as Gigatron/Botcon Megatron/Deathsaurus, seeing as their whole MO seems to be doing KOs based on whatever is coming up or has buzz around it. Lots of people want a BC Megatron KO.
I think we'll see more attempts at Dai atlas; specifically an MP style one. and a Victory Leo to go with Star saber now that the option is seemingly not a thing from takara from that last interview at cybertron con.
>>5832090
>3P compatible Combiner Wars or Titan Return toys
Man, I know one company did it and it wasn't great, but it's crazy how no one else made a CW compatible torso. Everyone has a ton of limbs lying around, and most of the official torsos have some sort of large flaw.
>>5832096
A TransArt figure like >>5831833 with an articulated non-rubber neck/tail and a new torso would be an instabuy.
>>5832106
Bold Forms
>>5832183
>I know one company did it and it wasn't great
I mean, that guy was a mess, right? I'm not even sure I'd be down if they did another if it was on his level of quality/design.
>Underslung Armada style mega cannon
bitchin
>>5832223
also has a totally not lightsaber, neat.
Hope he gets a mace as well
>>5832223
Yeah ok that's rad as fuck.
And out of fucking nowhere, a colored render of MMC's Deadlock.
Don't know if the Wing figure this was show with in the past is still happening.
>>5832267
I was hoping for a Deadlock retool, not anymore now.
That looks bleh. Hopefully Drift and Wing turn out nicer.
>>5832271
The hands are the only real part bothering me. MMC seems to be fucking up all the hands on their figures lately- too small or oddly shaped.
>>5832223
>Underslung Armada style mega cannon
G1 Megs can also swing his back cannon around underslung style too.
Actually, kind of digging the cannon on the left arm. I'm sure it can attach to either forearm, though.
>>5832277
The face looks particularly ugly too.
Fucking third party companies in general need to step up their headsculpt game. Not expecting everything to look as sexy as Generations Springer, but for how much these figures cost, you'd expect the headsculpts to be more decent than mediocre/ass.
>>5832267
Christ everything from the sculpt to the proportions are awkward and that head is doing zero favors. I'm still very worried about the car hood kibble that always looms out of shot from the back.
Iron Factory has this trounced in all categories packaged in a smaller sizeclass.
>>5832267
Was Deadlock in anything other than IDW? And only for the extremely small amount of time it took to tell Drift's backstory of how he went from edgelord to weeaboo?
>>5832267
This looks terrible.
>>5832330
So far only IDW.
>>5832398
Really seems weird he's getting not one, but two figures then. I mean, sure, easy redeco from Drift, but is he even popular enough as Deadlock to even warrant a whole figure to himself when they could just make Drift and call it a day?
That said, I think the figure looks ok.
Never been a fan of MP-sized toys
Could you guys tell me which are the good CHUG-size 3rd party bots?
Sorry for the bad English
Do you guys think this will ever get around to being on Maketoys production schedule? Possibly a candidate for Cross Dimension?
>>5832168
no judge wig, no sale
>>5832642
they probably pushed it back so as to not clash with Fansproject Dai Atlas. FP and MT are sister companies after all
>>5832642
i feel like his lower legs should swap sides. why does the armor face inwards?
>>5832841
That's not how calf muscles work.
>>5832223
>>5832226
>>5832836
Well he's lucky he has a decent bot mode. So fucking sick of Megs turning into a gun.
>>5832893
it's not, but it's how conventional robot designs work
>>5833010
>conventional robot
>posts a super robot
We /m/ now
>>5833017
Are Braves especially anything before Might Gaine considered Super Robots?
On other things, I just ordered TFC Rhadamantus and he is going to be my first TFC product and a combiner at that. I rarely buy 3p stuff so I am pretty excited!
>>5833044
>Are Braves especially anything before Might Gaine considered Super Robots?
of course man, why wouldn't they be?
J-Decker comes the closest to real robots i think but they're still very super
>>5833053
Good to know. I just always categorized them under "not quite Transformers-Transformers."
PERFECT EFFECT WINS AGAIN
>>5833073
Damn straight!
>>5829726
DNA Design: guys, we realize that fans deeply enjoy the character of bludgeon, the skull faced samurai transformer. As such, we have proudly included a skull face with our new bludgeon toy, available only in the first run.
Please enjoy this new head we've included with him, who's expression is that of a man who is balls deep into a squeeling hog
>>5833073
man i'd love to get this but i just want the head
using two gray computron blasters as Bruticus' cannons doesn't work for m..
Probably in the minority here but I wouldn't mind some new 3rd party Bayformer-style dinobots.
>>5833127
third party bayformer dinobots? or third party dinobots in a bayformer style?
i wouldn't mind either, honestly. a good movie Grimlock would be nice. it doesn't seem like a hard design to make
they should release two colors, movie accurate dark souls version, and toy accurate power rangers version
>>5833073
The only third party Bruticus is complete dogshit so it's not like PE has to try hard.
>>5833141
Yeah either way is good for me but I'd really like to see more types of dinos and prehistoric beasts in AoE style, like ankylosaurs, plesiosaurs, hadrosaurs.
>>5833118
I actually didn't mind the 'mask style' but this is a huge incentive. I hope he's good.
At least someone over at MMC still cares about doing more accurate bots.
So whats the consensus on gewalt?
>>5833842
his head in tank mode is unfortunate. but he seems like a great toy, and his proportions are much more pleasing than Fanstoys Blitzwing
>>5833881
that said, he is not very Masterpiece like, could use being more accurate
>>5832297
When does IronFactory not trounce just about everything....
>>5833118
Dear sir, thank you your post made me spit soda everywhere as I nearly choked to death laughing.
>>5833118
And as thanks...
>>5833118
>this post
This comes to mind
>>5832550
If you looking for around the typical official mainline scaling you can look at most combiners, MMC's Reformatted lines, Planet X, Fansproject, and Maketoys.
Some get a little bigger but are technically scaled to where you want them. If you don't care for MP aesthetic there are larger scaled toys in the same size range that don't go for the toon look. There's also always the new legends craze if you are into smaller stuff.
Just ordered IF City Commander (classic colors) and MakeToys Not-Tailgate as my first 3P figs. What am I in for?
>>5834210
a lot of guns, and also a cool tailgate fig. Solid purchases.
>>5834210
Both of those are great, you did good.
>>5831310
I'm a piece of shit and what upgrade set is that? I need those back cannons
>>5834324
It's another Perfect Effect set.
>>5834324
It's PC-10, which includes the back cannons, a new more poseable head, and a gun stock for Legends Shockwave (Hasbro version).
Could someone post size comparisons between any CW Combiner and TFC Hades?
>>5834729
CW combiners are less than a head shorter than MP Star Saber, and TFC Hades towers over MP Star Saber
>>5834748
Thanks, now I have Gate of Magus stuck on my head
>>5834748
Jesus fucking christ, well at least that justifies the $600 price tag. I don't know if it's going to scale well with Bruticus though
>>5834763
>I don't know if it's going to scale well with Bruticus though
well Liokaiser is the strongest combiner, so i like to seem he's also the biggest, it's cool to me that some combiners might be bigger than others
>>5834764
I get that he's supposed to be massive and incredibly powerful but that is pretty big of a size difference. Like, guys like Predaking should be massive compared to standard SC combiners, but I'm not sure about Liokaiser
Also, how big is Star Saber in fiction?
>>5834767
>Also, how big is Star Saber in fiction?
quiiite huge
>>5834772
Well, at least MP Saber does scale fairly well with CHUG stuff. And he looks maybe about the same size as a standard combiner, if we were to assume Perceptor and Wheeljack to be Deluxe sized and we ignored mass shifting.
Now, how big is Saber compared to Liokaiser?
>>5834784
>Now, how big is Saber compared to Liokaiser?
quiiite small
>>5834798
Fucking mass shifting man. Never liked that when it came to combiners.
How is Hades himself? I always liked the design of Liokaiser despite never having watched Victory so I'm tempted to get him
>>5834801
oh i haven't got him, but he seems alright
one important thing though, one anon here had a big issue with his killbison, who's combiner port knee swivel was so loose that his liokaiser toppled over alot...
>>5834804
If the QC isn't shit and the members aren't horribly crippled by major design flaws then I might probably get him
>>5833127
>>5833141
Well at least the dinobots are easier to imagine how they transform, toy-wise compared to the other bots.
>>5834847
tell me about it..
i mean at least put some wheels on the car robots, it makes no sense
i think lockdown is the only one with wheels, but they're on his ass or something
>>5834801
Victory is actually pretty consistent, scaling wise. Saber is the same size as the average Breastforce member and Star Saber is slightly shorter than the Liokaiser combined form.
>>5832330
The other Drifts in movie and RiD had been called Deadlock in the past but have not been shown. And there was the E-hobby Deadlock.
Not really much, but since Drift is pretty popular and it would be his most obvious redeco seems to happen.
>>5834876
So Saber is around deluxe and voyager size whereas Star Saber is around leader size?
>>5834890
More or less.
It works for the narrative too. Saber is about on-par with the average Decepticon, Star Saber is a slight underdog to a combiner, and Victory Saber is basically strong enough to take on anything.
>>5834801
I hear Hades has sorta wonky knees, but other than that he is all around Solid. I plan on getting him this tax season.
>>5834801
>Mass shifting on Saber
Um no, that is JUST Saber. If you watched that episode that is the first episode where LioKaiser combines and regular Saber fucks all 6 of them to the point they had to combine just to get Saber into Star Saber mode and beat him.
Also like this >>5834876 their scaling in the show was pretty good but the toys were kinda horrible still.
>>5834890
>whereas Star Saber is around leader size
No MP-Star Saber is way bigger than your leader cause he is even taller than MP-Ultra Magnus. His basic Saber for is as tall as voyager/MP cars size, which is how tall he was in the episodes they showed him with the other regular car size Transformers.
>>5834784
>>5834801
There is no mass shifting in any of those, Saber is just the jet into robot mode, Star Saber is the Jet(Saber) + V-Star into robot mode. This post >>5834772 is literally Star Saber without his battle up mask cause that's how he rolls in their base. While this >>5834798 is just regular Saber without the V-Star that he combines with to be called Star Saber.
MT better hurry up with a color test shot.
The head sculpt is magnificent.
>>5835736
Go look up a video of the War in Pocket Megs. That proves you don't need a full retard transformation for pistol Megs, and they did it with a Legends figure.
Hi guys - can anyone tell me where I could preorder that Bludgeon figure? I've looked around but can't find anything. Or are the preorders just not available yet?
>>5831310
So how does Shockwave's stock attach to him?
>>5835768
I'm pretty sure it's not available for preorder yet.
Can someone post Bruticus with the second PE upgrade but with original hands/feet? I'm trying to prioritize purchases
Is there STILL no word on when the IF Dinobots are coming out?
>>5836433
Who cares about non-Dinobot Dinobots, when the fuck is thier Optimus coming out? That shit was teased months ago and still no release or even a painted promo?
>>5835562
The fact that it doesn't have ball joints for shoulders makes it heads and tails above Apollyon already.
>>5836843
>It took someone this long to try to compete with fucking Apollyon
It's not like the market is flooded with G1 Megs. If MP-10 wasn't good then I couldn't see Third Party companies not shitting out a million not optimus'.
I got Disorder earlier this week, hes pretty cool.
>>5836903
He's pretty much exactly what I expected with a few small surprises. The first being that I dont have the doors hanging off the arms like I though I would. They are two joints, a ball joint and a hinge so they can move around a lot.
>>5836904
Also he kind of use them a shield, which is cool.
>>5836905
>>5836906
Hes got some really nice detail.
>>5836907
I really got him for the car mode and combined mode. Honestly I think his robot mode is a little boring.
>>5836909
>>5836910
Im a little dissapointed that the rear lights are missing. It seems its not just mine either, it looks. It looks like a spot was mode for them, they just either never got around to designing them, or installing them.
This is generation toy we are talking about, so I would imagine parts will be included with a later release but still......
>>5836911
>>5836911
>>5836905
>>5836904
Jesus, im re-reading some of these posts and im barely coherent. I need to go to sleep.
One last thing, I'd like to see some builds that people have come up with using Iron Factory stuff. Here are a few of mine.
Transformation shown off. Warning its in Chinese and they jibber jabber dragging it out. Gotta say it looks like a simple transformation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ2lwn4Njok&t=33m8s
>>5837026
Actually impressed with how blocky both modes are and how large/solid all of the assembly bits are when transforming. Still not sure about the back kibble but this is a real solid effort.
>>5836911
The real car actually doesn't have tail lights IIRC. Those things are airflow vents. There was a big autism spat at the usual places which is why I remember it.
>>5836906
Liked what you did with the car door shields. I'm still on waiting out the set because investing in combiners is usually not the smartest move until more of the members are out.
>>5837026
was that motherfucking Dinobot at the end of the video?
>>5837489
Its a 3D printed one. You can get it both unpainted, or painted for more.
Which size are the new Cross Dimension dudes, Voyagers?
>>5837026
Well, looks like the MP Megatron war was just won. Transformation that doesn't look like a bag of dicks, looks good in both modes. Now all we need is a good overview on articulation.
Just ordered these guys the other day. They look fun as fuck.
>>5837601
About a head taller than Classics Prime, so larger voyagers. In alt mode Striker Manus is about the same size as Classics Prime.
>>5837636
Some part of me wants them to do a modern "update" since a headmaster beast riding combiner sounds awesome. That and the theme is unique for a combiner.
The set itself is great and feels authentic 80s as fuck. I love how you can leave the little headmaster guys in for each mode.
>>5837648
I'd love to get modern versions of this set too, I don't have the "old school" one but I like the theme
I wish more 3ps would make more OC Donuts in general, I love seeing fresh ideas like FP's Core
>>5837648
>>5837655
Glad to hear the positive feedback on these guys. They look super awesome. I wouldn't mind more modern "redos" of them but at the same time it'll be nice to have a cool looking combiner that only takes a couple minutes to transform back and forth but doesn't have a ton of loose bits lying around like the actual G1 stuff.
On that note are there ANY G1 combiners that have no leftover kibble for the various modes (excluding the Micromaster gestalts)?
Last Hades dude hittin' soon.
>>5837673
Wasn't Liokaiser self contained?
>>5837676
All but the combiner helmet and breast-animal dudes. He's also a gajillion dollars if you want to buy one.
It seems he comes with replacement combiner leg pieces to fix the bum ones on Cerberus.
>>5837675
god damn this whole set has been amazing
I want to get two of each member and just give them a display all to themselves, each robot and then the combined behind them
I want to do the same thing with Generation Toys Devy and TFCs Piranacon
>>5829726
was wondering how Generation Toy Longhaul would look with cartoon colors so i shopped it
>>5837715
idk I think the deeper purple works pretty good for him as a whole. Part of the reason I like the set is the deeper green and purple they went with.
>>5837711
>tfc
>accurate colors
You'll never get both unfortunately.
>>5837721
>You'll never get both unfortunately.
its a shame because the other members seem really accurate..
>>5837724
headcannon accepted
>>5837711
It's quite possible it's a camera thing, and they just didn't color correct it too much.
>>5837636
There were a couple of people selling those during TFcon for like $160 Canadian.
>>5837711
Probably the lighting cause I've seen other shots from Ebay and he's pink.
>>5837626
It looks remarkably similar to the 35 year old Microchange toy and has the same oversizing the MP5 was lambasted for.
>>5837026
well the fingers look a little goofy and the panel hinges could try managing to blend in a little better, but fucking solid effort overall.
I can see an argument for Apollyon as it has much more rounded aesthetic, but I find the blockiness enjoyable.
>>5837883
DX9's Blitzwing was a brick made out of bricks in terms of visual design. I like it and it's pretty G1 but I can see why some people can't dig the look.
>>5838105
yeah, everyone has their own taste, which is why im such a fan of tons of companies doing different takes on the same characters
I think the blocky look really works for Blitzwing, but I can see how a bit more rounded works better for Megatron's sleakness
>>5830010
Only poorfags make a big deal about paying extra.
>>5830034
Perfect Effect realy fucked me with Xerxes so Ill be holding out for reviews before even thinking about picking itup.
>>5838230
Paying extra for a basic feature is just fucking terrible. It would be like paying an extra fee for ankle tilts. Only the most bitter of poorfags could possibly defend the CW devastator as an MP stand in.
>>5829726
Hope my favorite TrenFormen get some figs
And dont forget bumba lumba!
Has anyone dealt with the Chinese Ebay seller bababobo00712? I kinda want to buy all 6 TFC Hades parts from him since its saving me loads of money.

>>5838465
Like yeah, ok, the copyright symbols are a little funny, but this mostly just seems pathetic. Someone actually went to the trouble of making these comparison images to mock some kid's original character donut steels? That's pretty fucking sad. And I don't mean for the kid.
>>5838519
>kid
Er, you're half right. I'll give you a hint as to who did these. Does Sonichu ring a bell?

>>5838481
Netclow I have dealt with in the past and I bought my Rhadamantus off him now as well and he has a good price for the TFC Hades stuff.
>>5838481
Remember the first rule of eBay: Good deals from chinese sellers are usually frauds or factory rejects stolen from the "Shit" pile of QC rejects.
>>5838568
Yeah but nowadays you can't even tell that cause you might pay an extra $50~60 and still get the ones from the shit pile. I just look at the people with ratings of over 98.5 at least for Chinese sellers cause if people are really not a fan of their product they would do a negative on them so fast. I got scammed by a Chinese seller a few months back cause reasons and he got so much negative feedback to the point his account got banned, when the items were supposed to come in that when I asked ebay to send me back my money, they just went "eh here's your money back."
>>5838581
Oh and I did risk it by the way. The guy had like 96% rating so there was that.
Something about this looks wrong but I can't articulate what about it I don't like. It's extremely frustrating.
>>5838701
For me at least: Side skirts are very long. Feet seem a little short. His head is definitely quite small, but I generally like pinhead proportions so it's ok with me. However, his shoulders are rather wide for such a small head, they make it look even smaller by comparison.
Even with all of this though, this is one of the nicest Megatrons I've ever seen as a whole. In particular, any companies seem to fuck up the shape of his legs while trying to come up with an innovate new handle transformation, but this is nice.
>>5838701
The head looks just a tad too stubby, and the shoulders a tad too big. He looks great imho, but I can see how someone would say he looks "off".
>>5838702
>>5838703
I think it's just that hard angles do it for me but I think this aesthetically looks better.
>>5838710
This one is kind of awful to me.
- All the straight lines make him look weirdly primitive and cheap, like a dollar store Transforming Robot.
- Elbows look very spindly between those massive shoulders and forearms.
- Chest is super wide and his hip joints are set comically close together, giving him this triangular 1920s strongman sorta look.
- His thighs are way too thin.
- Side skirts are awful looking.
- His hands are small for those arms and they don't have a pleasing silhouette.
The worst part to me is those shins/calves though. They're too straight and rectangular, and project back too far from his thighs as well. For some reason, it's a very important thing to me that G1 Megatrons have sloped, curving shins. I have an almost instant dislike for Megs with straight shins--the worst example I can think of right now is Toyworld's Hegemon.
Anyway, this all comes down to opinions in the end I suppose, but I think the Maketoys posted above is far superior to this one in almost every way.
>>5836911
>Im a little dissapointed that the rear lights are missing.
Ok, so it turns out that the Ferrari 599xx (the basis for Disorders alt mode) doesn't actually have tail lights, it has vents in the back where the lights would go and Disorder stays true to that.
>>5838701
i swear, everything i see from maketoys is like a 10/10 for me.
>way smaller than Backdraft
>way simplier than Backdraft
>way less parts than Backdraft
>way less materials than Backdraft
>way less details than Backdraft
>Backdraft is $100
>this is $60
It does look cool but what the fuck is wrong with MMC? Is there any reason for the price to be so high?
>>5839289
Backdraft was discounted to 99.99$
Original price on it was 129.95$
>>5839333
OK but that still makes Jaguar overpriced as fuck. It should be $25 or $30 max.
>>5839384
>I don't understand third party pricing
>I don't understand limited run productions
>I don't understand higher tolerance engineering costs
Maybe this hobby isn't for you.
>>5839390
That's a lot of projection there my friends. If you weren't this new, you would definitely notice there's something wrong about this figure's price.
>>5839289
A few days before production, they said that if people wanted them to ditch the diecast, they could sell it for $40. That was just before production so the molds were already made which means they indirectly implied the diecast materials cost was $20.
Since that's complete bullshit, it's pretty obvious the only reason they're selling it for $60 is because people are dumb enough to buy it at that price.
>>5831696
Hollow parts does matter. It makes them look cheap and shitty. Visibly hollow parts, that is. Also, almost all of their limbs were fucking terrible. If you look at just their torsos, most look great. Nice head sculpts, spot on bodies. But then the limbs come out and look so bad. Even the limb extentions on some of the Takara ones look bad.
And then there's fucking Long Haul. He's so disproportionate, it's offensive.
>>5831702
Might surprise you, but I only have two MPs. I don't really collect them, so I don't have some abnormally high bar set for my regular figures to hit.
>>5833121
Funny, I don't want the head. Want to buy it and the Shockwave attachment for $10?
>>5839493
Pic attached.
I'm about to bank on the first 4 Hades figures. Are they good as they look? I plan to complete the set as well.
>>5839490
>And then there's fucking Long Haul. He's so disproportionate, it's offensive.
I was miffed as well but after seeing Hulkie I understand why HasTak did that.
>>5839686
They could have made him thick and bulky, but not terrible at the same time.

English review for DX9 megs
>>5839708
>the backpack
>those hands
>those spindly fingers
After watching the vid I'm def waiting for MT. While there are some interesting things going one with DX9's version he just seems rushed. Backpack anon can scream all he wants but, its down right horrible. Esp if you try posing him there's just no hiding it. DX9 should just scale him down and make him the definitive classics megs.
>>5839708
holy shit that arm transformation, that's fucking sexy, i love all that automorph shit going on, jesus.
the way the legs collapsed together gave me a fucking boner holy fuck.
I really don't mind the backpack at all, but the hands do look quite weird. The front skirt being one piece is also lame but i see why it had to happen with the transformation
Loving the shit out of this figure, who the hell designed this thing, fucking amazing.
>>5838481
I bought a first hand DOTM Optimus Prime with Trailer from him. Floppy piece of shit and one of the arms broke upon opening. I sent it back to him, got my money back and bought another one during my trip to Japan 2 months later.
Don't even bother with him, is what I'm saying
>>5840095
Thanks bro I ended up buying the other 4 limbs on TFW for cheap. I'll probably just wait for Hypno and the last piece and appreciate the other bots for now.
Are there any good third party mods out yet for MP Ironhide/Ratchet?
>>5837636
God these make me wish I wasn't broke...
>>5838701
Is it me or does it look alarmingly similar to Hegemon.....
>>5837636
I would love it if they continued this line. I love the concept but prehistoric animals just didn't really do it for me.
>>5839708
So it comes down to whoever has the better transformation at this point. This'll be hard to beat, it's simple, and it works.
>>5837636
See, I hadn't heard of this until now but this is near exactly what I pictured when one of the fan combiner options was Slammoth.
Mammoth? Check. Sabertooth? Check. Elk thing? Check. Hyaenodon? No but 3/5 ain't bad
>>5837636
I adore this design and concept, but unfortunately not $150+ adore. I'm terrible, I want more original ideas but I don't get around to supporting them.
>>5837636
A monument to why 80's designs were great, but the execution was terrible. We left bricks as toys behind for a reason.
anyone going to pick up the kits for this big computing man?
>>5840444
I'll probably get the hands/feet when I nab a Takara version. I'd get the Hasbro, but Takara outdid them this time with their remolds.
>>5840448
I can agree with takara outdoing them. but I have more of a fondness for the toy than the animation accuracy.
>>5840444
I'll def grab the perfect effect
UW computron has been the best take so far imo, just needs some polishing
Other than the fact that the arms aren't even pretending to transform into something this looks quite alright.
What is Galvatron supposed to be? A satellite? A SPESS artillery piece?
>>5841204
A functional cannon. He was never meant to be anything specific than functional, retard.
>>5841226
>He was never meant to be anything specific than functional, retard.
>>5841230
Yes, you're confused. Hasbro fans tend to be retarded so I'm not surprised you can't understand a basic concept.
Now I'm going to mention the name Jerry Only and you will flip your shit to defend Jem ripping off his band, like a good Hasbro slave.
List of third party things you've bought this year?
MMC Cynicus,Anarchus,Commotus and Spartan
I also just bought the first 4 limbs of TFC Hades yesterday.
I'll more than likely get the 2 final limbs in the future along with Carnifex this year.
Having with just Hexatron last year this has been a crazy road.
Has there been any word from Iron Factory on their 3rd Quarter releases?
I'm still waiting on the Ashura Knights set and it's getting a little ridiculous.
>>5841392
FT Forager
FT Mercenary
FT Stomp
FT Willis
MMC Backdraft (won't keep)
MT Ironwill
>PO
FT Lupus
FT Phoenix
FT Sovereign
FT Grinder
MT Despotron
XTB Andras (won't keep)
>>5841490
>I'm still waiting on the Ashura Knights set and it's getting a little ridiculous.
Do you want them now, or do you want them when they are finished?
>>5841764
He wants them now so he can bitch at how much of a mess they are.
>>5841764
yeah I see it the same way, it sucks waiting, but I'd always prefer to wait and get a better product
videogame companies drive me crazy with that shit, rush to meet deadlines then deliver a crappy product with a million day one patches
Is that Fansproject 6 Knight dude worth picking up for $50?
>>5829817
Yes, I'm that guy, which Devastator is this?
>>5841764
>>5841810
Different Anon but I'm ansty about them to. All I'm saying is these have been delayed like five times already. And there have been sets given out to reviewers already!
I would just like to know a general ETA beyond the incredibly vague "3rd Quarter". If they're that close to completion they ought to have something more concrete, right?
>>5841884
generation toys
>>5841392
At least you managed to nab 4 of them. I only have money to buy one and I had to go for their leader Rhadamantus(Leozack).
>>5841392
Oh lawdy, I been going retarded with stuff.
>Hexatron
>full Feral Rex set
>Anarchus
>Commotus
>Cynicus
>IF's Overlord
>Quakeblast
>>5840430
How was the execution "terrible" if it accomplished exactly what it set out to do? It's SUPPOSED to look and feel like a lost G1 combiner, not a flashy new set of figures.
>>5841392
Just started collecting third party stuff. So far I've got IF's Blizzard, and i'm waiting on Evil Lord and Soul Reaper to arrive. I plan on getting Pink Assassin, Lord Scorpion and their Sixshot when they're released as well. Thinking about getting DX9's Doombringers as well.
>>5842143
I was a little unclear. I meant the execution of 80's figures was pretty bad in general. G1 stuff was barely articulated bricks. While it's "nice" to see a throwback set, it just feels like a waste of time in this day and age.
>>5841392
>white poly's and Impactor
Color me jealous.
>>5842199
Different strokes for different folks I guess.
>>5842225
Yeah, that about sums it up. It looks nice, just like the old stuff. But I got my fill of G1 bricks as a kid, and I loved'em then, but now I want stuff with actual articulation and all that good stuff.
>>5840201
>Are there any good third party mods out yet for MP Ironhide/Ratchet?
there's movable skirt pieces on shpeways
http://www.shapeways.com/product/D59937W6U/mp-ironhide-ratchet-waist-armor-movable-joint?optionId=59405283&li=user-profile

and furthermore, best grill when?
>>5829817
Feel sorry for anyone that bought Constructor.
>>5844826
Why? I'm not saying I like Constructor but GB is just plain terrible looking.
>>5844826
