Hello /toy/ this is /g/,i hope you can hear me.
Is there something like Mechano for adults? I would love to build some shit out of wood or metal but im living in an apartment
Just get Lego technic.

No lego please, i would prefer wood so i can modify the parts myself

Oh I see, can't help much then. AFAIK I don't know of any toy lines with wooden parts, but Mechano is perfectly valid if you want to use metals.
All I can think of is lincoln logs and tinkertoys.
What do you want to make anon?

Anything, bridges, towers, small vehicle bodies, robots. I already have plenty of electronics, i just need something to fit them on

Sounds like you just need to learn how to cut wood/metal/plastic. You can get stock material from your local crafts store or use recyclables.
Wood and metal can be cut manually without heavy machinery but they are generate dust. I would recommend using plastic. Thin plates can be parted using the score and snap method. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3rwA3RMGxE
Thick styrene can be cut using a hot wire cutter
You can use a standard junior hacksaw too, just wet the plastic to prevent dust.
Tamiya has an "education construction" series of kits that allows you assemble small automaton. Not really necessary for your purpose but i think it will provide a headstart on how you might want to go about doing shit.

buy some hand tools, a cordless power tool set and then learn how to use them. I'm a carpenter, so sorry, but your question seems stupid to me. get wood, measure wood, cut wood, assemble wood. if your worried about heavy stock or making a mess in your compartment, i suggest balsa wood or veneers. you can also buy dowel rods and trim pieces that are fairly small and easy to deal with at any home store.
