Same, I like it because of the work Mattel put into make all the faces different from one character to another. You never get this in most Japanese related stuff since all the characters have the same face in those. That's why Monster High is such an anomaly to amount of effort they put in to make everyone unique. Huh, i'm really late to the game but it's kind of sad to hear about the reboot, especially because it's downplaying the monster aspects further.

Well, this discussion's been done to death by now, probably, but I'm curious: pretend you're not just designing for young girls or don't have to worry about demograph appeal, but if you were put in charge of a Monster high and Ever After High reboot, what kind of elements and story changes might you make?

For me, I'd probably up some of the monster aspects of the girls, if not in design than in story. Like while Draculara would be younger at 159 years old, she still acts like a teenager because she's spent the better part of a century and a half just coping with her new unlife and her current identity has been largely invented by her to sort of figure out who she is now. [spoiler]>Implications would suggest her true name is Camilla[/spoiler]

In a way, I have mixed feelings about the reboot. I think that the upcoming movie looks more entertaining than the few G1 movies I saw on Netflix, but the G2 dolls are uninterestingly cutesy bland and lack the substance and creativity the G1 dolls had.

Why Do Ghouls Fall In Love, 13 Wishes, Scaris: City of Lights, and Escape From Skull Shores were all pretty good imo. Haunted, Freaky Fusion, and Frights, Camera, Action! were alright.

Boo York, Boo York wasn't very good because they only had one band make most of the songs so certain characters ended up having the exact same singing voice.

Great Scarrier Reef kind of sucked too, especially the part where they were too lazy to animate a flashback and opted for jarring 2D art. And if you don't love their aquatic designs in this movie it'll be even more painful to sit through.

A lot of the MH movies have slow pacing for the kids which is tolerable but I can see how it would turn off older folks. Then again, I've watched several of the Lalaloopsy movies and you could literally step away for 30-45 minutes and then come back and still know exactly what was going on.

Exactly. It does feel good considering the original core gang didn't have any special monster molding (except arguably Lagoona's fins) but they evolved the dolls to the point where the latest characters have unique body detailing. I'm glad they did that.

The only big change are the faces, and they went from the dated Bratz inspired slut look to the more fresh-faced 'G2'. I have no problems with that at all.

I pulled my dolls out of storage. They should all have their stands, brushes and pets. I can't make promises about the diaries. You may have to remind me about what stand color goes with who. Sadly a few did suffer some damage, I'll explain. Here's what I have Left to Right:

Toralei- no visable damage, She's in really nice shape
Robecca- seems perfect. Knees are a little wonky but they were like that when I got her. I'm sure you guys are familiar with that.
Nefera- great condition
DOTD Cleo- would be great condition but her hair tinsel looks like crap. I think it always did.
unidentified naked Ghoulia- Her hair looks like crap I'm not gonna lie. Storage wasn't a good match for the curls. I might actually have her outfit.
I don't remember the name of this Ghoulia- she seems to be in good shape
Roller Maze Ghoulia- She's beautiful.
Abbey- She has what looks like a blue marker mark on her face. You can kinda see it in the picture. There's a tiny mark on her forehead. Her lips are missing some paint, was there when I got her. Her nose is discolored, and her hair turned yellow.
Cupid- Her face has some discoloration.
Rochelle- Same story as cupid.
Operetta- is actually not for sale, she wasn't meant to be there. I have a personal attachment.
Frankie- Discoloration on her face. Hair turned yellow, not as bad as Abbey.
Naked Clawdeen- No damage

I also have a bag of furniture, CAM parts, and various Accessories.

Right here. The discoloration isn't terribly obvious but you can see a slight Yellow tint on her forehead. It's not that noticeable, but it is there. Other than that she's a Sweet 1600 doll, she has all her accessories. I don't remember if she had a Diary but if she did I think I have it.

Ok so due to lack of interest/personal time, I'm thinking about selling all my MH and EAH dolls. They're all out of box and some have been redressed and repainted. Am I right in thinking that the easiest way to sell them would be in two lots on Ebay, one of original and one of custom dolls? I'm not trying to get top dollar, but also don't want to just give them away either cus honestly I could use the money.

Dollar to dollar, your best bet is to sell them individually. Just add a descriptor in your listings IN BOLD PRINT that you're selling more dolls in your collection. Buyers then can pick & choose what they want from you. Dolls that don't sell after a month you can gather & sell in a bulk lot.

How about a picture of your collection so that we anons can give you a ballpark estimate of how much you should price them.

I know I can get more if I sell them individually but sadly I don't have the time to (free time is one of the reasons I'm selling them anyway). If they did package pickup where I live it wouldn't be an issue but they don't, and since I can't drive right now its hard to get out to the post office. Its like a fuckin 3 hour commitment because of our bus system. If I can make just one trip like that it would be best.

I'll try to gather them up and take a pic later. Its not very many compared to collections I've seen on here, maybe 20-30 dolls and mostly older ones.
