Not entirely surprised, since they were all re-releases (besides the Shin one, which will have better options in the coming months).

What bugs me is that they decided not to release them in other countries which haven't seen any of those molds or have any Godzilla products being released outside of NECA and Monsterarts (which is all imported too). I do have the 2000 one coming in the mail which makes me really happy. Finally my Orga vinyl can have a worthy opponent.

How'd you end up with two?

My GMK arrived in the mail this afternoon. Some thoughts:
I really like the sculpt, especially the head. The eyes have a nice glassy dead look to them. The articulation from the waist up is pretty good, however the legs and tail.. not so much. The paint is disappointing. The mouth looks good but the same medium grey is used for the claws, fins and highlights. The overall effect is flat and bland. I'm not sure what they could have done to spice it up, but even the box is grey. Also, the plastic isn't as nice as G2K. Its not glossy, but it has a bit of a sheen in places.

Overall its probably the 2nd least impressive figure behind 2014, at least of the ones I own. I think something really simple, like the inclusion of a submarine effect part, would have really bumped it up a notch.

2014 isn't bad, just underwhelming compared to most releases. The tail seems to have less joints than usual.. that may be because its shorter than usual. The lower legs are ok but the upper legs only seem to swivel in one direction.

Barring the Giant Kaiyodo Shin Goji maquette, i've made a goal to collect everything from the Shin Godzilla "line."
I already have the Shin Godzilla vinyl on it's way, and the large scale Monster Series Shin Godzilla is pre-ordered, plus I'll be grabbing the translucent red Shin Goji and Banpresto whenever they hit the market.

However, I'm not sure what to do about all that EVA crossover merch, it's a little too much, especially for somebody that's not a big EVA nut.

There's the EVA Unit 01 and 02 Kiryu repaints by X-Plus, which are presumably website exclusives, and then the recently released primal forms, along with the S.H.MA Godzilla 1995 with Unit 01 colors that's also a confirmed website exclusive.

I think after grabbing the 7-11 Kiryu I'll just call it a day, it's just too much for me.

Saw it today in the theaters. 2/3 of it is boring as shit. Politicians sitting around meeting tables presenting stats and figures. Although this is typical of Godzilla movies, it's pretty bad in this one. Totally lacking any human drama. It's bland and monotonous.

I've never understood this argument. Many Godzilla movies, especially from the showa era, concentrated mostly on the humans with G himself only getting minimal screen time. I can understand why people don't like it, and the human drama that went on in the showa films was admittedly more entertaining than in 2014. However, 2014 didn't deviate from some sort of Godzilla movie formula. I preferred watching the human parts of 2014 much more than the cartoon artist and disgusting hippie from Godzilla vs Gigan.

Neca Godzilla figures are Crap. their sculpts are Armature hour, but the Poorfags fool themselves into believing Neca is still better than Monsterarts, which is hilarious Even with the Quality Control issues. i got my Godzilla 1954 and his eyes look fine. and his sculpt looks 100% better than the huge headed Neca Garbage. (Although i still own one of those as well, i can buy both and STILL eat because i don't put Toys first in my life AND i work for a living) but at least that figure is a masterpiece compared to the Utter Trash Godzilla 1984 was. that thing was sculpted by a 12 year old Potato.

I have the normal one. the issues with the mouth and eyes aren't noticeable unless you're looking at it super close and shining a light on it. Personally I think the "spit fire" effect is overdone, but I would just get whichever one is cheaper desu. I only paid $44 for the regular version so I'm very happy with what I got. hope that helps

After over 20 movies, if you can't enjoy any of the human element in Godzilla movies, you might as well not watch the movies and jut watch clips. Kaiju movies are disaster movies where the disaster is given tangible form.

I mean, it depends on how well it's done, but G14's human drama(post-Cranston) was boring, and I've heard resurgence has that problem too.

I appreciate the fuck out of Pacific Rim for keeping the movie so action focused and fun. Wish more movies would do what it did.

The scientists were corny motherfuckers, but the rest of the characters were passable(Asian waifu was abit much).

One of the reasons that Pacific Rim was good was that Humans were actually a force to be reckoned with and the Kaijus were not precious indispensable intellectual properties, but rather equally mortal and formidable. You didn't need to sit around waiting for the unstoppable force to meet it's immovable object.

Having Kaijus that actually died allowed for more Kaijus, more crazy action scenes and a faster pace.

It's Sakai's design and he sculpted it. Wakasa did Little Godzilla, Destoroyah, I think the large aggregate (Sakai the small, Taichi Yamada the flying), and most of Gamera. May have been another or two, but I don't recall. For the record, Yamada sculpted Gigan, too.

Takeya and co worked on it using the original maquette used for the design which is featured on the original poster reveal for the movie which saw some design changes since January-ish. It's not accurate to the final design, no, but it's still official. Kinda like G14, but man did they fuck that one up.

I wish I had bought that Luca figure from their Dawn of the Planet of the Apes line. That probably would've been a cool Kong stand-in with their Godzilla. I wouldn't be surprised if that's what NECA actually intended from the Luca figure.

So now that GMK and G1954 have been released. That leaves G16 (shin) and Ult. Burning G and KKK as the next 3 we are waiting on..... I wonder what's will be the next reveal? No exclusive but Garuda and the very first accessory set are pre-Bluefin. SOS Kiryu just cost more compared to exclusives prior to its release, as their costs didn't exclude Japanese sales tax anymore - for whatever weird reason.
