If not mistaken, all these parts seems like they will come unpainted, so you can give the color of the MoMo that you want it to wear it

Welp opened my Daisy. I like it but I dont see me investing too much into this line. Other than the designs I like. Took photos for a MFC review but I guess despite being designed and distributed in japan by japanese, OE's offices being in Beijing discounts it as being a Japanese toy. So I'm going to to dump some photos here.

I have so far 5 MoMos
Cyuchergoh (Orca Color)
Ingenue (Military Color)
Eins
Daisy (Bunny Type)
Clematis (Bunny Type)
So far I have been lucky and I haven't been hit by any big quality error in any of these, Only Ingenue that come with a repeated hand (But Amico help me to get a replacement)
Some tight joints here and there, but with a little effort that come a little bit loose, Clematis came qith a little loose hip joint, but this can be fixed with pledge
In the pic is missing Clematis, only because it was taken before I got her, and I need to get here some of the new ones

What's the bend range on the paws, since they're connected to the wrist pegs?
How do the alternate boot-heels work, since they have the cat toes?
How does the ear articulation work?
Are the tails removable?

Giant Sexy Robots fighting alien Kaiju?

If Done Right I'd Read that.

Why do you need to fight giant monsters with sexy robots however I'll never know.
>>
>>5823369
Jesus fuck.

>>5823382
Mostly other robots or each other from what I can tell.
>The law for reigning over the Galaxy is made once, and the police and an army organization aiming at use of this exist.
>However, not only as for culture and economy but maintenance of public order, priority is given to a "center", and the economical gap with rural areas is spreading steadily.
>Therefore, terrorism does not die out in a district distant from a center.
Even the models displayed show this, you can see the little mechanical imp-type robots in >>5818885 on the lower left as well as in the old Goddess-type photos.

Basically, with lots of different planets and governments you obviously need good fighting machines, and of course insurrections and the like are common, so the MoMos are there as the overpowering force meant to put such rebels down. The MoMos themselves are seemingly provided by an outside power.

Kinda like a bigger scale version of FSS?
>>
>>5823442

???

>>5823442
AH intersting. I know I'm being nit picky, but why sexy robots. XD

Not that I don't mind buying sexy robots. Just not sure how a Giant Sexy robot in swim suits, or German S&M gear, or Playboy Bunny bot will save the day.

But still that won't stop me from buying said bunny bot. :P

Great review, fellow MoMo enthusiast!
I'm pleased to see that Mygya/Tigga's toes are articulated, that was a really cool surprise, same for the paw's fingers and that bendy tail.
About the shoulder joints, one solution that always is mentioned is using Pledge to tighten them up, as anon in >>5832335 says, IIRC, Optune mentioned in the past the use of the revoltech double joints for the shoulders, but I'm not sure right now, which size should be used

>>
What is the story behind these?
>>
>>5851827

Backstory is explained a little above and in the airnet link in OP. IRL story is they're cool figures of robot chicks with a bad QC streak.

>>5851827
Giant Mecha robot girls that we sexualize

>>
Should i still get the original Cyuchergoh? The very first white one?

I heard that QC is an issue for her.
>>
>>5851862
QC is something endemic to the line unfortunately. She's ~$50 on Mandy right now.
>>
I got my first Momo coming soon. What can i do if i get one with the infamous loose/tight joint issue?

Or is it not that common to get these issues?
>>
>>5852419
Loose joints, check Optune's twitter for potential preexisting solutions, tight joints, use warm but not boiling water. If parts break outright check Optune's twitter, he does mention who you should contact in case of this there. The store you bought it from should also be contacted.

Bad QC isn't super common, but be aware of it.
>>
>>5852449
>Loose joints
For loose joint it is always recommended to use Pledge (I can't remember exactly which)
>>
>>5852419
My joints easily wear down because i'm an autistic fuck that keeps playing with the articulation and i always have a heart attack whenever i pose mine.

The parts all feel so brittle too.
>>
Ugh, I was planning on getting one. I guess I'll pass, don't want to deal with quality issues.
>>
>>5852587
It's something that sticks with Original Effect. They seem to not care about their releases really.

Of the Momos i own, Chocolate has a super loose hip joint, which i heard is a common problem on her(someone please prove me wrong)

and in general, posing toys in this line is a mess. They don't come with stands and parts pop off easy.

At least they look cool..?
>>
>>5852587
they're qc "issues" are on par with any toy maker out there. you might as well just not buy any figures at all. I haven't had any issues, I rarely see issues posted about on thread that don't have crazy easy solves. The worst I've seen is >>5835947 which has been dealt with.

>>5852991
I can see what you mean with this, especially if you look at stuff like Daibadi, but I still think it's quite fair of him not to want to roll the dice.

It's actually quite an interesting parallel between the two lines, Polynian and MoMo.
Both were originally garage kits with no general availability for us rubes, nowadays while releases of better, completed models are coming out of these lines, quality control has plagued both of them.

Personally I'm going to keep buying MoMos and Polynians. I want to support both groups and see them grow better as well as release more stuff I like.
>>
>>5853695

Hi guys I have no Idea what is MoMo, but I find the designs crazy good. Can any anon explain what they are supposed to be exactly ? Are they from an anime or is that just a figure-only creation ?
Thanks for the answer.
>>
>>5868322
They're figure-only creations, their backstory is explained somewhat in the airnet.ne.jp link in the OP. They're basically piloted enforcer robots specialized for a medley of roles.

If you do buy one, be careful of QC issues! It's something that's been endemic to the line.

Thank you based anon !
I'll be careful if I pick one.

Are there any bootlegs of the MoMos? I see some momos that are sold out nearly everywhere else on Taobao and the price isn't remarkably cheap, but it's still China so
>>
>>5889853
Not that I know of, in any case MoMos are produced by a chinese company in the first place.
Which ones are you looking at? MoMo Eins, Zwei, Daisy, and Clematis are all available from HLJ. Mandy still has Cyuchergoh, along with air-force Chocolatte.
AmiAmi still has some military color Chocolattes.

Well, my Tigga came in the other day and I finally got a chance to open her and within 5 seconds of me handling her her knee joint has completely snapped. I have no idea what I'm going to do; I don't know if it's even fixable without gluing her knee in place...

I ordered from AmiAmi but I've been in Japan for a while and it's been more than 7 days since Tyga arrived home but I haven't opened her till now so I have no idea if they'll be able/willing to replace her.

Any advice? :/

That sound like you buy a preownwed one, because the figures come packaged as pic related with those metal wires that are used in most american figure blisters, around the body, arms and legs, encased in a closed plastic bag, like pic related, so there is no way the figure to fell into pieces

We've had ONE report of one arriving broken in packaging. One.

I have to agree with >>5890901 in saying it sounded like he hamhanded it and it snapped. He said it didn't arrive broken but that it smaller after him fucking around with it. Those knees are right, I'd know because I have a tigga. He probably pushed it to much and it broke.

>>5890959
No, they haven't. I've said this last thread, their QC is on par with any other brand, in fact it's better than others like daibadi. Of you don't want to run the risk of QC get out of the hobby.

>>5891315
The tubes are fine, there is zero room for them to rattle around. They can't move as they're wedged in there, vacpacked and tired to a piece of cardboard.
>>
>>5896789

Also, a fix for exploding knees.

Notably, something like this can actually be seen on pretty much all of the original MoMo prototypes. Optune's are built from scratch, so to speak, and all use screw knee joints instead of plastic ones.

I get the feeling that sort of compression joint could damage the plastic in the long run, otherwise more toys and models would use them. Screws are cheap as shit.

I can understand using balloons for smaller things like panties, but surely there has to be some stretchy cloth/clothes that would work better for figures as large as these. I'd just rather use a gentler material for em than balloons which could potentially damage the figure due to shit rubber.

theres also a ridiculous amount of custom fags on twitter to gain inspiration from

Hey, I just got my Apis, and I'd like to confirm, did anyone else's only come with 9 hands? This is my first momo that comes with hands and I don't know what's normal. I have two splayed, two relaxed, two pointing, and two fists, but only one slightly relaxed fist.

Seems weird to me that such a useful hand would only come in righty form.
>>
>>5908370
I think they come in pairs, from the pics that I have seen
>>
>>5890492
I'm >>5835947 and I actually just came to this thread to update on what happened. Just got my package containing my replacement leg. Really happy to finally have her in one piece and be able to fully mess around with her. (I hadn't ever attached her feet or hands because I left them in the wrapping just in case I'd need to return her) Amiami was pretty good to me, they just wanted pics of that and the invoice and then also requested pictures of the leg safely detached so they'd know exactly what piece it was and how it attached to the figure. I'd imagine they'd be able to help you out too.
>>
>>5910906
Nice! Good to hear at least somebody got their QC issues resolved at last.
>>
>>5896789

So how much do they pay you to run damage control?

Seriously, the line has some QC issues and it's dumb to pretend otherwise. Shit like figuarts sell way more copies of a figure than any MoMo, but you don't see even a quarter as many complaints about problems like this.

OE is a small company and sometimes bad QC happens, they don't have the budget of Bandai or some other big name to stop that from happening. It's fine to support them so the line can grow, but you don't need to be hostile towards anyone who gets a broken figure in the mail. Chill out a bit.

Exploding knees and loose joints are the most prominent issues to follow the line.
If knees are refusing to bend, try using warm-but-not-boiling water on them.
Optune, the designer for the models, posted some other fixes on his twitter, which is linked in the OP.

Are there any alt joints to use with Tigga? Like those really tiny ones in the fingers, I'd like ratcheded ones personally.

I feel like Hobbybase joints could do the trick, but I'm not sure they'd be small enough, and they definitely aren't ratcheted.

Ah, I see. One solution on Optune's twitter and which I also tried was to use Koto MSG parts. On my Tigga I used some MSG joints to replace the elbows. They worked in that Tigga can now hold her arms up, but I need to get something else to tighten the pegs themselves.
