What is it?
>>5787315
Original white Polynian Clover and Shamrock (aftermarket prices)
Pic related. I love his design (non-bishounen male figma YES) but it's $75. Still debating wether I should jump the gun, but I'm considering that this is LoLshit and webshop excluisve it'll spike in aftermarket price.
>>5787315
This motherfucker goes for 3 to 4x his launch price.
kek I definitely just bought this of Mandarake 2 days ago, along with the MIRAI ver.
>tfw I don't even know anything about or have any attachment to Miku or vocaloids
>tfw I just like how the racing figures are designed
I justify pricey toys pretty easily, it's not a good habit. I just think shit like "this toy costs how much I earn in one single day's work. Just go to work for one day and boom, it's afforded."
Anyway I guess pic related will be my next target.
My problem with buying a racing Miku is that I'd be buying a Miku and then I'd want twelve different designs.
Also this. >>5787323
Charming Drossel.
The aftermarket kinda sucks.
I might pull the trigger eventually though.
>>5787337
This
I still hate myself for skipping the preorders
>>5787330
I'd be the same if I had a better job, but the 80 dollars OP's pic goes for would still sting.
>>5787337
>Tfw
She's a cute!!
>>5787315
Every figma from the past year.
I love these models but fucking zoids meng. 93 shekels is to much for the amount of model vs like the MG Shinaju or PG Aile
>>5787315
I own a Feral Rex but make no illusions that I was ever justified in spending the nearly $600 it cost. There is no justification for a toy like that.
Love the shit out of it though.
>>5787420
I bought this nigga for 140 aus buckaroos and i have no regrets, its a fantastic kit and bigger than you might expect
>>5787429
Not to say there isn't some absurdity in the prices of 3rd party figures but you didn't spend $600 on a single toy. You spent roughly $100 on 5 full Transformers figures (6 if you bought the saber tiger who's name I can't remember) so they're basically 2 toys in one, that can combine into one big figure. That's significantly more justifiable than just saying you payed $600 for a single toy.
>>5787330
I just got this a month ago and shes fantastic
Except the lack of accessories but whatever
>>5787335
This is true. I ended up ordering every single racing miku. GSC has me in their stranglehold.
This year's made me go and buy an extra robot horse. Now I may need rides for all of them. fml
any arcadia macross 1/60 figure.. although i now own 4 i still want more and i cant feed this habit too long seeing they all cost more than $200 with the exception of the 30th anniversary vf-1j but that too is getting pricier... i still need to pay bills and eat...
>>5787315
Any lego set. I feel terrible considering how many sets I managed to squeeze out of my parents and grandparents while growing up.
This guy. The original mechwarrior was one of the first games I played as a kid, and I've always wanted toys from the series. Due to the licensing issues though, this is probably the closest I'll ever get. The price is just way too much though, I know from experience I wouldn't enjoy it enough.
>>5787631
>you'll never go on futuristic VR adventures with knight miku
>>5787818
There was a macross mech in the first mechwarrior?
I only played 2 and on, you sure your not thinking of the mad cat or mad cat MK2?
>>5787337
just do it now. its gonna get more expensive as time passes by
>>5787892
Yeah, but it was definitely in mw2 as well. The first one used a bunch of macross designs though, the marauder, rifleman, and warhammer all were, and the phoenix hawk was basically a valkyrie complete with jet cockpit on the chest.
>>5787892
>mechwarrior
>>5787324
https://na.merch.riotgames.com/en/collectibles/figures/figma-yasuo.html
hope this helps
Black swordsman guts figma, jesus christ.
Probably this. I can't willingly spend 150$~ on what would be a glorified statue because I would be too afraid to mess with it then rubber skin would break over time.
>>5788024
Rubber will be fine if treated correctly.
>>5787324
I pulled the trigger on Yasuo
If you consider he's around 6k yen he's basically the same price as every other figma coming out.
>Sentinel the thread.
This bad boy.
I don't know if I can justify the price for this guy. But I love Zoids and own/preordered all the other ones from this line.
>>5788161
It's like $120 bucks on amiami preowned for a pretty high quality diecast figure
This bitch (figma Rei Ayanami)
And Neca Luca.
>>5788551
Won my Rei on Ebay a month ago, was a pretty decent price to be honest (£32).
>>5788551
I lucked out and got a Rei-ject back when they were on Ebay.
>>5788551
Fuck me, are they really that expensive? I just finished putting together the RD evas and I was gonna track down the pilots next.
>>5788595
Rei is, Asuka generally goes for an okay price (usually around 4500 yen) but Mari is always cheap as fuck.
>>5788551
I sucked it up and said "its now or never" and spent 90 bucks on her
I think she was worth it, since theres not many other artiuclated reis with this quality, and an an awesome accessory
this guy
>>5788610
Yeah, I always see mari floating around mandarake for 2k or whatever so I figured they'd all be still around retail. Oops.
>>5788573
Same, got a real Rei and 2 Reijects.
I was at Surugaya's Akiba store last week and picked up a misb Asuka for ¥3800 after tax. Kept putting it off all these years because shit outfit and floating bewbs, but I thought I'd better bite it this time.
Could've sworn I saw a Rei there for under 5k.
>>5789480
I never understood the "floating boobs" complaint until your picture. Holy shit. What the fuck.
>>5789568
My thoughts exactly omg
>>5787527
That's my logic on it too. I've bought in on 3 third party combiners so far. Buying 6 $100ish toys over several months is still nuts, but I'd never be able to just go all-in at once. Hell, that's probably half the reason I never got the Maketoys Computron - because it was only in a giftset.
Most of the G1 stuff I want is just too expensive for what it is. It doesn't help that most of what I want is Japanese-only. Plus, you have to factor in stuff that's prone to break. I've picked up Squeezeplay and Fangry for decent prices, but Horri-bull goes for so much more because the neck is easily broken.
And now that HasTak is targeting a lot more of the stuff I like, paying high prices for this feels more pointless.
>>5788096
Got any tips?
>>5787818
>mechwarrior
You mean zentradi officer battle pod
this.
>>5789614
Find out what kind of rubber it is, probably from the manufacturer, and ask them how to treat it? Most rubbers you just wipe some oily stuff onto it, just google it.
>>5788200
>diecast
>high quality
Oh boy.
>>5790856
He said toy, moron.
No, hot-gluing it doesn't make it a sex toy either.
>>5787315
Any arcadia valk ever. Living in a country with piss poor currency sucks
I just gave in and bought an unopened berserker armour figma for 14000 yen. Should I feel bad?
>>5791195
Nah he's fantastic.
I don't know what he was going for when he was new, but it's close to $300 now.
That goddamn okami figure with the light up LEDs. Even the one that isn't lit up is over 300 bucks. I mean, fuck.
>wanting things
>>5787315
Her price in the aftermarket is fucking ridiculous.
>>5791195
I bought him for $160 and hes been nothing but great. His big ass box caught me off guard.
>>5791481
First time on /toy/?
>>5788551
Nothing special. Really.
This probably makes me some kind of faggot, but I really want her.
The idea of having a huge Makoto doll I can dress up in sexy dresses and lingerie just sounds too tempting.
Maybe I'll buy her after I sell my motorcycle and scalp some SDCC exclusives if I can get her for under 850.
a bajillion doll hairs for this guy. even his full name is cool, because i also want a Hulkbuster that busts Sentinels
>>5792274
Makoto was what got me into dolls. Its fun to dress her up despite my terrible fashion sense. I'm really not cut out of dolls, but I do love Makoto.
D-Arts' Megaman x figures.
Are they discontinued? I looked one up on Amazon and it was 100 American Dollars but it was around 40 on 1999.co.jp
>>5792293
>tfw no Sen-ti-nel Sentinel
It'd probably be too tiny to get the most out of it, but how cool would that be?
>>5792338
Yeah, they're discontinued. Have been for ages (except Zero, who got reissued once). Unfortunately, that's just the way things go in this hobby.
>>5787330
I've been regretting not preordering this miku but that price.
>>5792323
fduuuuuuuuuuuug, I just found one on YJA for like 550.
I might crack anons, I might just do it.
>>5787410
All those guns though, and the eyes light up. Little things like that make 1/6th worth buying.
I'll porbably get the 9th Doctor anyways, despite the steep price, since he's my fav. (that and he doesn't get a lot of merch unlike 10 and 11)
>>5787315
I could do a list:
Figma Insane Black Rock Shooter
Figma Super Sonico Swimsuit Version
(seriously why do they have to be bundled in a DVD Box set??)
Figma Saber Ver. 2.0
Figma Archer
(Effing after market price such a bitch)
This guy, would love to own both color versions too.
Not a big fan of ThreeA, but I like cowboys and like the design.
Price is too much though considering I just want to take a few pictures with it.
>>5787315
Basically every good SOTA SF figure. Balrog, Blanka, Sagat, Bison. Even Zangief. I will never, ever have them. Why the fuck did I have to fall out of toy collecting for a decade and miss every damned last one of them...
Fuck
I'll get it one day.
>>5787315
Turns out the QC is utter garbage in this figure. There is picture evidence at myfigurecollection. It the body looks like a knock off.
>>5794609
I have the tan sonico but I bought it on crunchyroll before it went scalp rates.
Dollfie Dream Miku
Eleven thousand anime dollars.

$350+shipping
if it was $60 or something, like all of the other Megaman EXE stuff, fine. I can save up...but...this is too much. and it hurts even more because this is the Bass Cross I used in my DoubleTeam playthrough...
ugh. protoman's $90, Bass is impossible to find, and so is Heatguts Style...weh.
>>5787352
Putting trish's skirt to good use i see
>>5795465
Same here. To make matters worse, if I ever got my hands on one, I'd want to get the sembonzakura outfit which is another 200 weeb bucks
That and>>5787315 because it's my favorite racing Miku
>>5787315
Takara Tomy Shockwave from Prime. I want it, just not at that price god damn
These robots from Quo Vadis and the entire Shooting Game Historica collection. Fuck me and my hipster vidya tastes.
>>5795450
I also had the Sonico Tanned version but somehow I still want the original color version. Also I've been hearing about a KO Figma IBRS. I don't know if I should get it only because I really want to have an IBRS action figure.
>>5787410
I have this. It's awesome.
RE4 Leon though, nope. I may have to just get the RE6 one.
>>5792293
There's 1 on amazon for $282 with free shipping

They've only gone up in price since MCA passed away...
>>5797942
get your hands off my grail, faggot
>>5797949
They've got a set at one of my local shops here, but I can't justify the $800
>>5788641
oh shit, i think i saw one of these guys at Forbidden Planet in nyc, near union square
>>5797959
>$800 for mediocre white rapper action figures
>>5790872
Its a high quality figure WITH diecast, not BECAUSE of diecast
You fucking shitheel.
>>5800289
>with diecast
>high quality
These two things do not co-exist. Diecast is a shit tier toy material. Ask anyone who owned a toy from the 80's.
>>5800302
Have you ever owned a toy from the 80s? You obviously haven't.
>>5800308
Yeah, because I grew up then. Still got Voltron.
Diecast is shit, get over it faggot.
>>5800316
Nice argument, friend.
>>5800326
Prove it's not a shit material that grows loose over time if used as a joint, can fuck up any other joints that aren't made out of diecast (and will even fuck up those also made of diecast), and isn't affected by the elements more than any other toy material other than rubber?
Oh wait, you can't, because you're a delusional shitter who still thinks diecast is a good material to use in toys.
>>5800333
It feels nice and weighty. There is nothing in the world that can generate a better feeling.
You're just bitter.
>>5800334
>it feels good
>my feelings are more important than facts of toy construction
Wow, this place really is turning into readdit and tomblar.
>>5800338
What's so bad about enjoying the feel of something? Are you so far beyond numb that all you care about in life is what its made of rather than what you make of it?
You're damn bitter.
>>5800340
Because a toy feels better when all of it's joints work and it won't fall apart in a few years from being made of inferior materials, maybe?
I mean, I GUESS if you want a toy whose joints will literally destroy themselves, or you're some kind of statuefag who never touches their toys, you might like diecast, but you'd still be wrong about it being a good material.
>>5800333
All joints grow loose with time, do you understand how friction works? Plastic has a better ability to stabilize itself from slight imperfections due to its elasticity (like a "self-healing" cutting mat), but the exchange of friction between two bodies is a marker of degradation.
And at least with diecast you don't have a potential quick death of material due to plasticizer leakage. If the phthalates begin escaping the plastic (which they almost always do after the 10 year mark) it pretty much signals the beginning of a process towards becoming brittle and shearing. This happens in the package or out, in humidity or in arid air. With diecast, so long as it doesn't get submerged in water, if you take it out of the box 75 years from now it will be factory fresh. As a material, plastics will always degrade faster.
Also, that sharp pain you just experienced was your balls retreating up into your body due to you becoming my personal bitch after my incredible beating of your candy ass with this post.
>>5800354
Diecast cars survive well. Diecast figures from the 80s have survived well. Soul of Chogokins are well engineered to work with the zinc.
The only bad example of die cast I can think of is early figuarts ankles. Even SIC is good now with a fine balance of diecast and plastics. A well weighted figure with diecast balances better than an all plastic figure.
>>5800361
This was a good post until the last sentence.
>>5787337
Regular Drossel was my very first figma. When Charming Drossel came out, I wasn't really collecting/buying figures so I thought I'd just buy it when I was ready.
Boy that was a mistake.
>>5800374
Vanilla Drossel > Charming
Only because vanilla isn't complete fanservice bait.
It's more because I just don't like toys enough to own them, I play with them for maybe a week and then it's off to a display stand, never to be touched again. Waste of money and space for me.
>>5800383
At least you enjoy them for a whole week. I spend more time being excited about the figure/toy arriving than I do actually enjoying it in hand.
>>5800383
pic related, it is from my fave game ever though
>>5800386
not to be judgmental, but you sound like you've gotten too used to buying things. There's this concept called Hedonic Adaptation, which basically means that no matter how nice of a thing you get, you will always inevitably become bored of it and want a newer, nicer thing. That's how I was with toys. I'd buy one, enjoy it, and then it was like "okay, I need a new one". So I got to the point that I had these toys that I didn't actually like, I just liked buying them. So I put them all away for several weeks, and after realizing that I didn't care that it had been 20 days since I saw them, it dawned on me that I never really liked them, I just liked buying them, so now I'm selling them.
I don't want to sound like a downer for you toy fans out there, just saying that you have to remember to appreciate what you have, even if there's other stuff you really want.
>>5800390
You're not being judgmental at all, anon. I realized that I was suffering from it a while back. Hence why my toy related purchases has plummeted from thousands a month to a few hundred every few months. I'm also selling off most of my collection.
>>5800390
....fuck. I think I have this. My collection has gotten HUGE in the past two years, and it feels like I'm always buying new shit now compared to my more spaced-out purchases in the past. I should really take a hard look at my collection and get rid of some of it. I mean, I have so many toys in storage now that I no longer even remember them all.
>>5800390
I think you just broke this thread lol
I won't pay 150k for this. That's absurd.
But fuck, it's the only Haman out there.
Most of the S.H. Figuarts DBZ line. Yes they're the best representation of the characters but 85% look like shit. Including the some of the current releases. I had an opportunity to get some of the originals cheap at a con because some guy was selling his sealed old ones at retail but they just looked terrible to me even at prices like 40$ for the first edition trunks. It seems I'm not the only one though because he didn't manage to sell any even though half the figures he was selling were $150 + on Mandarake.
>>5794609
>Figma Archer
I really really regret not getting one when I could. Now that I decided I want one it's way too damn expensive.
I want but not for 500 smacks.
