Awakening Goku is great, Android 17/18 are great, and Broly are great. I wouldn't necessarily bother with the Broly repaint, as the current going rate for the last one will like l be the same as the convention exclusive, which will probably end up even more. Don't have the new Trunks yet, but I've heard mostly good things. Picclo is a very early release that still holds up well.

The vegeta controversy comes from the fact that the original Super Saiyan Vegeta toy got a recolor last december, and soon after a new Vegeta mold of the same design was revealed a few months after, due for release in November. Naturally, alot of people who bought the Vegeta recolor(or worse, those who bought the original release for scalper prices) where upset.

Look at Awakening Goku's skin tone. Scratch marks and blood on that wouldn't look that great. It's also why most Awakening Goku customs look like shit. I do recall seeing a really good one somewhere though.

Just off the top of my head, she's helped find the Dragon balls tons of times, pretty sure she invented the Dragon Radar, made the gravity chamber that Vegeta is constantly training in, helped Vegeta go SSJ4 with her technology (DBGT), her future self made a fucking time machine allowing Trunks to come back in time and save humanity, created a shut down device to kill 18 before Cell could absorb her and destroy humanity (Krillin fucked this up though), reprogrammed android 16 to help the Z-Fighters in the Cell Tournament (although he was able to do fuck all because she stupidly removed his bomb), her future self made ANOTHER fucking time machine to get Trunks to the past a SECOND time after shit went downhill from Black Goku, her future self also sent notes with Trunks to give to the current Bulma about time travel, and now her present self is in the process of using those notes to restore that second dilapidated time machine that Cell rode in on.

She's a bitch and pretty annoying most of the time, I'll give you that, but she's actually a genius and has contributed a lot to the series.

However, to answer your question, I have no idea. The only other black guy I know who still likes DBZ is my brother in law. My brother and other friends liked it back in high school because it was on Toonami, and it was just cool seeing people flying around beating the shit out of each other.

I personally still like DBZ just because of nostalgia. I grew up with the characters, so it's nice to see the return of some of my favorite guys in Super (Frieza and Future Trunks). I also like Beerus as a character because he's neither good nor evil and doesn't really pick sides. He's insanely powerful, and doesn't really give a damn about what happens to any of the characters so long as they don't fuck with his food. It's comical to me.

In Latin America DBZ was huge because it was on national television, so everybody watched the fuck out of it. The only other anime that reached that kind of popularity here was Saint Seiya, also broadcasted in national television, but when the anime ended people stopped caring about it, that never happened with DBZ, it stayed popular.
