One likely scenario is that last year, particularly the summer wave, didn't do too well, which would explain why people seemed to have more trouble finding the sets at stores this year. But it also didn't do bad enough for Lego to completely give up on the line or think about cancelling it early, so now they're starting to bring out some extra marketing to reach a bigger audience. Lots of people all over the internet kept saying that 2015 wasn't advertised enough, so they might have taken the hint after all.
Might all be completely wrong though, I'm just some dude on the internet posting wild speculation after all.

Also, I fixed my own problem of colour distribution. The 'blocking' is much more competent now and the lack of purple on the lower half is resolved.
Admittedly, it removes some of her more 'wild' poseability but it added so much more personality to the build that I couldn't resist. Besides, it can be removed pretty easily for seated and 'pin-up' poses.

Kopaka's mask is rounder and on a larger body functions as feminine. Most other masks are too angular - that besides, her previous incarnation used it.

Whats the best Bionicle movie and why is it Legends of Metru Nui? The animation isn't as good as it looked when I was younger but its soundtrack and story are still pretty good.
>>
>>5756752

MoL: kindergarten version of LotR on a shoestring budget that is pretty embarrassing and cringy to watch these days

LoMN: the way they justified the existence of the discs was kinda awkward and characters still dying from getting barely touched is just as bad as it was in MoL but otherwise it was alright

WoS: grimderp, sorta boring and based on one of the worst years

TLR: didn't give a shit about lore and world building from the get go and was animated by the Foodfight studio

JtO: kinda bland and generic so far with no real mystery, wonder and excitement behind it, resulting in something that feels like as if it was done because the guys behind it had to, not wanted to

Animation seems unfinished and what the fuck was up with Makuta's multiple reveals as the true villain, but yeah, I probably like it more than the others.

Just all the stuff they managed to cram into it, it really feels like a journey that goes through so many different locations, moods and tones.

But like all the movies, it would have greatly benefited from a much longer running and production time, or perhaps by being turned into a short series than a single flick.
>>
>>5755947
I got that for $1 new, and still feel I overpaid.

My God, this was shit after Web of Shadows.
>>
>>5756889
My biggest issue with MoL and LoMN was that they clearly couldn't decide how the Toa use their powers.

In MoL they used elemental powers a plenty, but not too much of their mask powers. In LoMN it was reversed. They never found the balance.
>>
>>5756894
Yes, that was pretty shit. I know there's this explanation that the Metru depleted their elemental powers in the books but that's never brought up within the movie, so it just feels like handwaving it.

Also a lot of the power-usage on MOL was crap, but I hear anti-violence guidelines had to do with that.
>>
>>5756894

>especially when most people will contest that they think it's the worst of the Miramax films
>>
>>5757241
It's an acquired taste, but when you get a handle on all the manipulation and backstabbing, the movie earns its namesake.
>>
>>5757241
I'd say Mask of Light is the worst because it's not really self-contained, nor does it make complete sense even for fans.

>starts at year 3 and acts like everyone knows who the Toa, Mata Nui and Makuta are
>doesn't explain the significance of Takua to the people of the island (i.e. it doesn't explain that he's not just a random dork)
>Kolhii is basically hockey but still doesn't do any exposition on it, seeing as it wasn't in MNOG or any material beforehand
>voices don't fit the Toa
>TAKUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUA

I do like how Makuta challenged Takanuva to Kolhii, though. It seems like something the devil would do, turn an innocent game into a fight for Mata Nui. Also he's trying to get to Takua for being a Matoran beforehand were the Artakhan Toa never were.
>>
>>5757254
>>>5757241
I'm just gonna butt in with my thoughts.

>starts at year 3 and acts like everyone knows who the Toa, Mata Nui and Makuta are
It's easy to infer that the Toa are the islands heroes. Also, did you forget they showed the legend of Mata Nui in the intro?

>doesn't explain the significance of Takua to the people of the island (i.e. it doesn't explain that he's not just a random dork)
They mention that he's the chronicler numerous times.

>Kolhii is basically hockey but still doesn't do any exposition on it, seeing as it wasn't in MNOG or any material beforehand
It's just a sport they play. That's really all you need to know.

>voices don't fit the toa
I still think they're perfect even to this day

>I do like how Makuta challenged Takanuva to Kolhii, though. It seems like something the devil would do, turn an innocent game into a fight for Mata Nui. Also he's trying to get to Takua for being a Matoran beforehand were the Artakhan Toa never were.
Makuta was fucking perfect in MoL and LoMN, and I agree that challenging Takanuva to a match of kolhii really gave off that "Playing against the Devil to keep your soul" vibe. I wonder if we'll ever get any more of those moments with G2 Makuta.

Honestly, I miss when Bionicle took itself a lot more seriously when it came to its media. Legend Reborn and Journey to One just feel too "kiddish" for my tastes.

Though, the elbows need obvious thickness and the whole body needs a texture redo with smooth plates.

From a bit further view it looks decent, but the moment you take a closer look it looks more of a cluster fuck honestly, combined that with the shitstorm it caused during the contest, plus the brainless praise/worship the builder got in that lego magazine kinda leaves a bad taste in your mouth overall.

It's your typical "let's slap as much shit as possible onto it until it has the desired shape" large size moc.
Everyone can do that with a big enough supply of parts - you, too.
To me, small scale models that try to use parts in unorthodox ways will always be more impressive since they depend more on the person's creativity instead of his wallet.
>>
>>5758398
With near infinite pieces, not mention prototype parts, anyone could make something like this. And if a builder is given near endless resources there is no need to be creative as you can just slap on pieces until it looks good instead of actually having to use your brain.
>>
>>5758398
I think what got people on the fence is that Roa and other 'prolific mocers' just got a bunch of 2015 parts early, as a viral promo thing I guess? IDK, it shouldn't have been fair game allowing the use of those, but MOC contests are always rich get richer schemes, system or bonkle otherwise.

Still kinda working out the best looking one, but I've narrowed it down to these 3. The nuvaboob was alright for the proportions of the figure, but bigger than what I was hoping. It was kind of unfitting, given the source material, and I used it to pad out a technic quota more than anything else.

Not only this, but the Wanted List feature has been greatly improved on; not only is it now a million times easier to find the parts you want, but you can go so far as to directly input LDD models into Wanted Lists! Although the LDD update a little while ago messed this up a tad, it's still otherwise almost entirely functional.

So in an effort to get rid of some of the white pieces in my inventory I built this. Hastily written backstory in 3...2...1.

>After billions of Matoran refugees entered Makuhero city, fleeing from the resurgence of Makuta on their world, their culture began to intertwine with ours. So when it was announced that Akiyama Makuro had green lit a project to essentially weaponize Toa, there was controversy abound. However, upon the battlefield deployment of a Toa/Hero hybrid, those dissenting voices were silenced.

>Velak Bowie (surname given by Hero Favtory Technicians) was the first of these hybrids, and actually a volunteer - he had found a Toa stone while fleeing Bara Magna, making him a prime candidate. The stone transformed him into a Toa of Ice, granting him powers over the element as well as X-Ray vision from his Kanohi Akaku. And that's before Hero Factory gave him an upgrade. Powered by two hero cores on his collar, Velak is faster, stronger, has quicker reflexes, and has an advanced healing factor beyond that of any hero on record. Hero Factory's enhancements also granted him a stronger intellect, making him a brilliant tactician and problem solver. The only noted detriments appear to be a loss of interpersonal communication skills - rarely does Velak speak unless spoken to, and humor seems to fly over his head.
>>

1MB, 2592x1936px
>>5760268
>The Kanohi Akaku grants the wearer X-Ray vision. Hero Factory's upgraded version of the mask offers that, and more.

>The advanced Akaku has a powerful zoom capability, with targets up to 5 miles away able to be viewed clear as day through the blue lens. A heads up display, wirelessly linked with the firearm that the user is wielding, also allows the Akaku to pinpoint with 99.7899% accuracy where the shots fired will land. As well as offering infrared and Heads up display, the new Akaku also allows the ability to redirect stored heat energy in load bearing couplings across Velak's body into a powerful, concentrated, and precise laser blast. This ability can not be used for too long, though - its strength depends on the heat stored, and using the beam continuously for too long will fry the circuitry within the Akaku's advanced scope.

On one hand you kind of get diminishing returns on Skull Warriors the more you have, but on the other, no point in getting another scorpio if, you know, you don't even like it. Always useful to have a spare for the combiner though.
>>

I have one Scorpio in my collection (albeit, modded with actual legs) and I feel that's all I need. It takes up too much space for a single unit and is too resource intensive to make it satisfy my personal tastes.

I built one Warrior like normal, then did a reverse build for a left handed Warrior, and the third weilds his spear with his bow on his back. I could do a fourth as a reverse build but also holding his spear. I like that they're sort of these giant fantasy terminators, and I think they make cool giant monsters for the normal minifigs to fight.

Anyone have the new book?
>>
>>5761012
A few people on the TTV boards have the digital version, but they haven't posted much info so far.
>>
Jesus, this line has dried up so fast in the last few months. Aside from getting the actual figures JtO is the only thing to look forward to until 2017.

What the hell happened? My experience with 2016 has been so much less than 2015. I think it's the fact that this year's story has been bisected into two lone episodes as opposed to last year sprinkling the webisodes throughout the duration. Sure we've gotten more story but the year overall has just been so boring.
>>
>>5761063
A new book comes out today, JtO is at the end of the month, and leak season usually starts around August, so hopefully there'll be more to talk about in the upcoming weeks.
>>
>>5761068
The end of next month, I mean. I forgot it was still June.
>>
>>5761063
It would help if the monthly website updates weren't just short descriptions of what happens in JtO. I guess its good for kids who don't have Netflix and can't just pirate it, but I still wish they'd just skip that stuff and use the story section for additional worldbuilding or something.
At least we'll have new leaks in a few months.
>>
>>5761068
6 dumbed down toa and Makuta that has 5 tr.orange ribcages, can't see anything else on the horizon unfortunately.
>>
>>5761073
Why do you even bother staying in the general if you're so convinced the next wave is going to be shit?
>>
>>5761073
>6 dumbed down toa

Would G2 have been more interesting if the Toa weren't in this? The protectors seemed pretty well liked, and Ekimu is neat, but I couldn't care less about the Toa.
>>
>>5761121
If the Toa hadn't been in the reboot, everybody would have bitched about it. Anyway, I'm not complaining as long as I get more Pohatu sets. I fucking love Pohatu.
>>
>>5761117
No, I'm just being reasonable here and saying that because the demand is not that high it would be stupid for them to make loads of new parts if they aren't going to sell that many sets.

They can be dumped down and recycled but it doesn't mean they wouldn't try to polish them.

For what I know they might try their hardest to try to make the figures cool and listen to feedback but it's a cold fact their resources will be more limited than last time.

I'm probably gonna ask about this again in the future but, does anyone recognize this giant MOC? I've always wanted to make it ever since it appeared in the Designer video. Sure it's really gappy because it uses nothing but CCBS bones, but it has a lot of charm. I couldn't find anything of greater quality unfortunately, but I would appreciate it if someone could spoonfeed me its basic construction so I can partially replicate in the future.

It appears at 5:30 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMweB0mGOEo
>>
>>5761137
You know what? The MoUP and MoT are the only pieces I even want next year. I'll still get the figures out of obligation but I'm just so uninterested in everything about this line now. They could have told the whole story of G2 in one year if they got rid of the filler like most of year 2 for instance. Year 2 to me feels like it should've been a filler book like the second graphic novel. The rest of G2 is so straightforward that trying to stretch it's barebones story over the span of 3 years is excruciating.

And with the sets, the new parts are nothing special. The best addons were already given to us in 2015. Same with the best masks and gimmick. It's just been this slow dive since then and at this point I feel for G2 like how I did for HF all those years. I don't give a fuck but I guess I'll get them for the parts. And I came into this so happy to have Bionicle back. Lego screwed the pooch with their abysmal marketing and promotion of this line, without a doubt. Wasted opportunity all around.
>>
>>5761137
>it would be stupid for them to make loads of new parts if they aren't going to sell that many sets.

For new parts it doesn't even matter how well the sets sell.
Lego's current policy is to focus on the creative aspect of its toys which means that the designers have to reuse parts as often as possible and only include new molds if they're either outright necessary or/and if they can be reused in other themes.
I mean, check out their latest "big bang" theme Nexo Knights.
They also got only like four new molds in the summer wave with only two (Magmar's faceguard and Burnzie's head) being really theme specific and no one is crying "WHAHWAAH DED THEME" here.
>>
>>5761157
I only care care about the sets, and never really gave a shit if it's "not muh Bionicle".

>>5761164
This. People like to bitch about the most trivial things.
>>
>>5761155
>This video was more entertaining than all the bionicle designer videos combined

>>5761164
But there is slight problem that comes with constraction
at it's the need for new mask/head/helmet molds

Changes are they won't even have new masks, or if they do the amount of new parts could be extremely limited.

With system you just make one or two and put some print on it.
>>
>>5761174
Even with sets, the shift from neo HF-with-flair to greeb-me-up-Scotty has turned me off something fierce with 2016. If CCBS ain't broken, don't fucking fix it.
>>
>>5761180
I still remember everyone bitching about the new sets being too smooth and HF-y in early 2015. The designers are just giving the fans what they apparently want, it's not really their fault that we're retarded.
>>
>>5761209
It was lack of new molds and there was no way around that expect with bigger budget.

But the uniters and beasts not alone needed more molds but there are some questionable designs as well such as Pohatu's arms, a completely unneeded recolor on Ketar and many others.
>>
>>5761180
You still have your CCBS smoothness in SW Ultrabuilds. Greebling has always been part of Bionicle's visual style, deal with it fucking already.
>>
>>5761223
Greeblings was in the molds. Now it's in the build itself.
>>
>>5761235
Yes, which makes it even better. It actually takes time and effort to build something, as opposed to most of the last year's sets, where most of the building process was just snapping bones and shells together.
>>
>Sets are standard HF builds with gearboxes
WAAHHH THEY'RE TOO STREAMLINED AND BORING
>Sets have greebled parts and interesting builds everywhere
WAAHHH THEY'RE NEEDLESSLY COMPLICATED AND OVERDESIGNED

Face it, you fucks don't know what you want and are going to complain no matter WHAT the design team does.
>>
>>5761339
We've now had two extremes, Masters and the beasts
So something in between. The piston molds should follow the same design not be significantly different with each other. Uniter torso has too much, master pistons are a bit cartoony but unity piece is perfect.
>>
I personally don't have a problem with the greebles as long as they're not just all concentrated one piece.
I was disappointed by the lack on new molds for things like feet and weapons and the colours they decided to use. Lego has never been particularly caring about colour schemes but Lewa should have been more green and less silver, Pohatu more consistent on his browns, i didn't like the silver on the masks, etc.
>>
Just got Book 3, should I give a synopsis after im finished reading it or do we already have that info?
>>
>>5761389
I'm pretty sure you're one of the few who even has it here, so feel free to post.
>>
>>5761339
I personally loved wave one, fuck you greeble loving fags. There is such a thing as too specialized and 2016 has plenty of that.
>>
>>5761404
2015 was a piece of shit compared to 2016 desu, only problem with 2016 was dual-tone masks and the chest piece being too big and specialized, other than that it looked a lot more like bionicle, and had a lot less crippling flaws with the sets compared to 2015.

Bionicle has always has greebles, its what allows them to actually look like characters rather than just toys.
>>
>>5761389
>Book takes place between 2015 and 2016's story
>Toa leave the forge to see a bunch of Okotan (they are pushing this term for the villagers) immigrants coming into the city
>Vizuna introduces them to Melea, a stone Okotan who asks them to rescue her nephews Ako and Oda, who were captured by a skull-spider controlled hawk in a ravine in the region of stone
>Toa and Ekimu set out, they encounter the hawk and Lewa gets his mask knocked off and captured
>The rest of them find the hawk again, Kopaka uses his ice to defeat it and they remove the skull spider.
>Meanwhile, a skull spider infiltrates the unprotected city of the mask makers and frees Kulta from his prison
>The toa find a mechanized stone door, Pohatu and Onua use their powers to open it, and they enter a tunnel underground, but quickly fall into a trap
>They find themselves in an underground city surrounded by beings known as the Skull Raiders
>Ekimu explains that the Skull Raiders were once a band of pirates led by Kulta that almost conquered Okoto, but were defeated by himself, Makuta, and the protectors of the time, driving them into the mountains of Okoto
>When the great cataclysm happened, the skull raiders were trapped underground, and thus built their underground city
>A tribal leader of the skull raiders, known as Axato, challenges one of the Toa to single combat in the city's arena
>Gali accepts the challenge, with the wager being the lives of the captured Lewa, Ako, and Oda, who will be dropped into a lava pit if Gali loses.
>Gali and Axato fight (hand to hand combat, no weapons), meanwhile the Toa and Ekimu escape their cages and work on freeing the prisoners.
>Kulta finally reaches the city as well, and catches the Toa and Ekimu in the act, with the Skull raiders behind him, they have and advantage over the Toa.

>>
>>5761468

That's metal as fuck, and I hope we get at least one set for them. I'd settle for a magazine gift even.
>>
>>5761468
>Ekimu tries to bargain with Kulta, saying they have innocent children with them, but Kulta has none of it, so Ekimu then challenges Kulta to single combat.
>Kulta accepts (warriors honor, to decline would be seen as cowardly), and establishes the rule that neither can use their weapons, Ekimu cannot use his hammer of power.
>They fight, Kulta has the upper hand by a large margin, so Ekimu calls over to Onua
>Onua tosses Ekimu his Earthquake Hammer, which Ekimu uses to upswing Kulta in the chin, sending him flying into the air and embedding himself on the ceiling with such a force that it begins to collapse.
>Ekimu and the Toa escape the city before its destruction, Ekimu explains that Kulta surely survived, as that is what he has done for thousands of years.
>Inside the ruined city, Kulta is trapped beneath the rubble, he wonders if Axato and the rest of the Skull raiders are trapped under as well, and prays that Makuta will once again help him escape like he did by sending the skull spider to free him from the city prison.
>The book ends with Kulta continuing to wait for a response from Makuta, implying that Makuta has given up on Kulta and will not come to his aid.
>>
>>5761482
Are toa still in their Master Gear?
>>
Also, I forgot to mention, the Skull raiders speak and write in their own language, Ekimu translates for everything they say

>>5761479
Like all the Skull Raiders, he wears a black skull mask, Axato is "A tall warrior" who carries "a long spear tipped with a sharp black crystal"
>>
>>5761489
Yes, they are still in their master gear and using their master abilities. I assume JTO starts a short time after the Toa arrive back at the city from this adventure.
>>
>>5759660
What were some other good entries in this contest? Or what was the actual contest so I can look at the other entries?
>>

>>
>>5761509
If only they were falcons, and Ekimu witnesses a small one being harassed by the other larger ones in their nests, so he takes it home... I want the Falke to be canon so hard.

Then it turns out that Falcon IS Makuta in disguise and all of this way part of his grand Keikaku.
>>
>>5761509
>>
>>5761339
What all of this really proves is that the people who are unhappy are always the loudest.
The line has explored two polar opposites in design back-to-back, and in either case, the result was seemingly the majority saying the other one was better.
>>
>>5761508
To be fair, even genwun books were hardly known for accurate covers.
>>
>>5758004
The new guy's more boxy and has some lank to him, but I like the charm he gives off. The big ham-hands especially. I don't think you're ruining him. Just re-imagining. Just keep fumbling around until you get what looks good.
>>
>>5761468
>>5761482
This sounds like the same brand of crazy awesome creativity that made me enjoy RotSS so much. They really should let Ryder write more books.
>>5761521
All I want is for the new JtO episodes to show that Ekimu was so grumpy at the start because he was trying to repair his airship and rebuild/revive his old pet falcon, and now they're both going to appear in the show. It's definitely not going to happen, but I'd buy 10 copies of all the DVDs if it did.
>>
So is Axato as tall as Kulta but just skinny?
>>
>>5761468
>>5761482
Fuck...I'd love to read that book, sounds amazing. I really hope JtO shows some of this action. Undead Pirate City is a really neat concept.
Also, fuckin' Ekimu had to cheat...I like how when we have a trial by combat scene and the bad guy is an honor bound warrior,he gets screwed over by the good guy who was getting its ass kicked. Truly a great leader of Okoto...

Hey guys, I'm trying to make a fancy-ass lolita/emo/??? moc and I was hoping anyone could suggest some good non-bionicle reference pictures for fashion. The closest fashion type I can find that's similar to what I have built so far is goth lolita, but I was hoping for something more flamboyant and ridiculous. Like halfway between lolita goth and cybergoth?

The idea is that I have this prototype helmet that's sparkly purple and I want to make a guy that's fancy as all fuck to match it

lol, I was close to suggesting /fa/. Use a little discretion when crossboarding next time. If someone asks about the context of your post, then you can spill the beans. Maybe try digging for something in relevant tags on Pinterest, Etsy, tumblr, etc.

Nice prototype, btw, where did you get it?

It looks good, but isn't the prototype mask dark green ? Also, you might want to take a look at some Jojo costumes, since they are indeed fabulous most of the time.

Also, what do you guys think about the pouch in general ? It's the best way I found to integrate it, but I would like some feedback.

The pouch is here to serve as an aesthetic element, since it's actual use is to store the kunai on the sides.

Not to go full on BZPower autism or anything, but I do appreciate that Ryder has gone out of his way to make sure we've got some seriously badass female characters. Korgot mowing down hoards of skull spiders with her rocket tits and Gali challenging a warlord to gladiatorial combat.

Speaking of Ryder and female characters, what the hell happened in that one scene early on with the Stone villagers? The subsequent sentences make it so clear that they're from the Stone region and all have brown masks, then Ekimu goes "Melea of the Region of Earth..."

I'd like to believe that Ekimu is just fucking blind and senile, but come on. One more proofread before publication, fellas.
>>
>>5763849
Well Ekimu was technically dead for a 1000 years, so his vision may not be the best yet. Either that or half his brain has rotten away.
>>
>>5763696
>>5763701
This MOC is so fucking cool. I really love it.
>>
>>5763855
I think it actually would have been funny if that were the case and had it been intentional. Like Melea pauses for a moment and the Toa look confused, then she thanks him anyway. But I'm sure it was just a dumb mistake, and one that really bugs me. Ehhh...
>>
>>5763849
I think Ryder just doesn't see the difference between Stone and Earth. Then again, can you really blame him? Kind of baffling that they didn't swap out one of the two for a different element like thunder or something.
>>
>>5763849
I dont believe he ever said Melea was from the region of Earth, all signs point to her being from the region of stone, they state she has a brown mask like the Okotans mentioned 5 words earlier who are from the region of stone, her nephews got lost in the region of stone, etc. etc.

With that effort Kulta could have asked for a Skull Warrior to barrage the area around Ekimu. Would that be cheating then if the "bad guy" does it?
Ekimu used a weapon, clearly violating the rules.

These transparent masks are frustrating - they take three days to make! Or even four if it's a mask which has protruding elements within it that need to be cured separately (the inside of the 'mouth' in this case).

I wished I would be able to have a lot of transparent masks available for people but I'm using the most cost effective method I'm aware of - When I'm able to open the store I may only have a handful or two of transparent masks available.

and don't get me started on the apparent inevitability of air bubbles, seems like. This is one of the better casts of the hau I have so far, and there's unsightly air bubbles in the back.

Anyway just giving you guys a taste for what's coming. Like I said before, the first 'wave' is largely experimental - many of the colors may not match official lego colors well or at all. Colors I've made so far: red, blue, white, orange, a sort of transparent pink (test of stained glass paint), yellow, and a green which is closer to the skull spider green than anything else. Oh yeah and there's a light grey shade I've come up with that's fairly close to the original color, but I'm not sure if anyone wants light grey.

You can just put it in your store policy. "If you order more than 1 mask, your order will automatically be cancelled." I recently ordered from a store where if your order didn't average >$4/lot, they'd cancel the order.
>>
>>5764018
I could do something like that for starters and then ease up on it when I have more masks to sell. 1 sounds a little strict, but I certainty don't want a few people grabbing up all the transparent ones first off.
>>
>>5763947
I actually really enjoy him as a character for reasons like that exactly. He's not just a perfect little snowflake who does no wrong. He's really actually kind of an asshole with a god complex and corrupt sense of justice. For how little depth G2 has seen thus far, Ekimu's persona surprisingly has a lot of it.

I visited the AZ Mills Lego Store and found something interesting. The employees there had gotten notice that Bionicle had been discontinued after the summer wave from this year.
>>
>>5764563
That's almost certainly wrong, unless those baseless rumours about a secret extra set coming out later this year are true.
I can't see them axing the theme at this point without releasing the MoUP, Makuta, or the Vahi (which there's already a design for as well), even if they were just shoehorned into some tiny STARS-tier piece of shit.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how mad would everyone be if the line was indeed cancelled, but only in States?

>>
>>5764621
Disappointed, not mad. The writing has been on the wall since we first saw this summer wave, so I've lowered my expectations for the line.

If I had to be mad at anyone, I'd get mad at the Lego suits who kept slashing the summer budget. The line could've picked up more speed had they not sabotaged it with such a heavy drop in quality every year. The story was also aimed too low on the age scale until recently, which is probably too little, too late.

>>
>>5765356
Guy has a point though, in G1 movies the masks were the part of the person sort of speak, thus it makes sense for the mouth to move. Sure it's a minor thing but it is something that'd make it feel more "alive" if you will.
>>
>>5765360
But the MASKS aren't supposed to feel "alive"... because they're fucking masks. This is how it's supposed to be, and the way the Miramax movies did it was retarded.
>>
>>5765354
There's enough movement on the masks to keep them plenty expressive even without mouths. Figuring out who's speaking at what point surprisingly hasn't been a problem for me either so far, despite some voices sounding pretty similar.
I honestly prefer it this way.
>>
>>5765368
I think Narmoto, Ekimu, and Onua are all the same guy. For what it's worth, he did a alright job at making them sound different.
>>
>>5765362
What about the Inika masks? Those were more organic and what not, and I meant the character being more alive not the mask itself.
>>
>>5765354
Maybe they're shit at animating mouths or just didn't have the time (the CGI and animation in the show is pretty darn basic as is). Better to have body language and no lip movement than to have messed-up lip sync.

Those would be fine. If we ever had gotten a movie based on 2006, the organic Inika masks would be an exception.

>>
>>5765532
I've got one guy I've been working on that I sort've consider to be my self moc. That mainly stems from the first concept of him where he was a fat weakling in armor.

My oldest moc leftover from my childhood was my marysue in the autistic universe I made up. He is a non humanoid though, so I dont think that really works out as a self moc either.
>>
>>5765532
>I still have my self-MOC intact
To be fair I haven't had a self-MOC built for quite some years.
>>
>>5765532
The closest I ever came to making a "selfmoc" as a kid was a specialized Vahki that was meant as a personal unit for Dume when shit goes down in his office or something, which I immediately headcanon'd into making it a prototype piece he keeps as a trophy.

These days, I have a personal G2 villager moc. Although I made him a separate character, I'm fully aware he's a reflection of me, complete with a bad leg.

Why is LDD so shit for Bionicle MOCing? Like holy fuck. Almost everything I want to use either isn't here or doesn't work properly.

The gold Vahi is probably $12-ish. The Takutanuva/movie edition Kraahkan is probably somewhere between $30 and $40. Glitter-trans Avohkii is worth at least $5. For some weird reason the regular gold one shot up in value and the cheapest US one on Bricklink is $12. Lastly, the regular Kraahkan is around $5.

So, altogether they're worth $70. That being said, you should probably try to piece your Takutanuva giftset back together. Be aware that they changed the shade of grey plastics in 2004, so the sets for this don't use the bluish grey shades.
