Not sure how many people here have younger kids in their family, but I've took notice of the younger TF stuff for kids since my 2 year nephew has gotten into them. I got a big bag of old Playskool Go-bots for cheap to give him, and man, do they feel so much better than the modern Rescuebots stuff. Even the expensive releases for RB feel cheap and hollow. And they lack articulation, something even my nephew, whose still a toddler, notices.

hasbro should get the people who do the switch and Go Dinos to do their younger kid stuff. now those are well done toys. This one here is way too good for what's effectively a toddler's toy. The vehicle mode is surprisingly cool. Some of these would be cool to see as more regular TF designs.

Alright guys, time for some fan base modes. My TF collection is pretty much nothing at the moment but in hype for Titans Return and due to some fan bases I've seen on here, I dug up some old figures and took a swing at it myself.

First up is Armada Starscream. There wasn't much I could do with this guy but I feel like this configuration makes for a pretty decent refueling/repair bay.

The other, and imo the stronger base mode, is Cybertron Optimus. Sure he's nothing spectacular but I feel like he's more of an actual building, complete with parking bays and all. The pipes on his forearms make for some nice industrial detail too.

I just like the feel of this one way more.

I don't think so. I've had two and there was no broken gold on either, but he doesn't feel totally solid either.

His mosquito antenna have major stress marks on the base. The ball joint fits pretty snug in the socket so moving the antenna around makes me feel like I'm gonna snap them off.

See pic related. The purple cylinder parts on his arms that peg to the side of his body tend to crumble to pieces and fall off. On my old one, both were broken off, and one is cracked on the one I have now, BUT the arms still peg in perfectly without them, so it doesn't matter.

The wings feel brittle since they're clear plastic. I get kinda nervous when he falls backwards, which he does pretty often because his feet suck. (See 5:47 of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7X8Elhiy1Fg for an explanation.)

I'm also worried about busting the spring mechanism that keeps his head together. On my first one, it was loose and the head tended to flip open. (See 0:25 of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EFyQdw_DL0 for an illustration of this problem.) My second one thankfully doesn't have that problem. Please check with the seller before you buy one though.

To be fair, Bee is actually pretty decent, he's just go Starscream angling for leadership whereas Bee is actually focussed on getting stuff sorted out and resolved.

It's also thanks to Bee that we've got Autobot Megatron, and to an extent, a Starscream who actually seems to be struggling against his own nature to build something worthwhile, even if he can't quite leave the backstabbing and politicking behind.

I repainted it for a custom slingshot, and used the extra Firefly head on Blastoff, 70 for a cw deluxe was ridonculous.

So I'm getting an SDCC fort max.

I want my deluxes to match, should I get the takara ones (since his cerebros head has been changed to fortress) or the hasbro ones (since the deco is hardly changed and is still a hasbro version be default).

Money isn't a factor despite currency being against me, I want them matching

If you're a fan of the Headmasters anime, go full Takara.

If you're more of a fan of the original toys, stick to Hasbro. The Fortress head works as an homage to the G1 Cerebros figure.
