Bionicle had a huge problem in that the comic issues are extremely episodic and they important stuff is in the books.

For example, Makuta dies off-screen between issues and I think the same thing happened with the Bohrok queens. It's all made worse by the fact that the comics don't tell you "hey dumbass, go read this book." There's np flow to the narrative.

Any other cool headswaps floating around?

Since I'm crazy, I got 3 deluxe Grooves so I'll talk about them:

Pro:
-Solid ratchets
-Great articulation, no lose limbs on any of them
-Almost everything pegs in well
-Almost no paint issues
-Can stand, and hold poses much better than previous figures

Cons:
-Some areas are painted, but will start losing paint since they have to tab in to something (the chest, arms, shoulders)
-The split wheel is a pain to put together, even after you figure out how to do it properly
-Peg for the HFG was too thick on 2 of them, so I sanded them down a bit so they wouldn't crack the peg
-You need to be careful while transforming the arms, since they might be too tight (all 3 of mine were), so applying excessive force might break it
-The front wheel is held in place by 2 very thin (and hollow) tubes, so be extremely careful of falls, or to press down on it while moving (like in bike mode), since they might snap

The shoulders being stiff to move is actually a concern of mine for my Groove. Just had the arm pop out of the ball joint transforming him to robot from bike earlier. Will have to be very careful moving that shoulder bit around lest the ball itself snap off.

Transformers is just as much a JP property as US. The only problem with a potential musou game is that Activision has the US rights to TF games so if a JP Transformers musou game did come out it would probably stay there and you'll have to blunder your way through moonrunes to play.

Imagine all the cross universe fanwank in super Robot Wars, but across all TF continuities. Voice actor based gags like Movie Sentinel Prime and G1 Galvatron teaming up, or Armada Jetfire and Rattrap coming from the same part of Cybertron, explaining their accents. Or crazy events like Megahead Megatron using Fort Max's body, or an alternate TF The movie scenario with Cybertron Primus transforming to fight unicron. Inventors from different continuities(Wheeljack, rhinox, Bulkhead, Que, etc.) teaming up to create a superweapon, or ultra Dinobots combining features of all other continuities Dinobots. You can mod Movie1 Barricade's knees so they can fully straighten out and fix his posture. Not really a CHUG Barricade but it helps make the proportions less bayformer-y.

I was lucky and got Shockwave off HTS right when he first was released, since he hit there long before anywhere else. Never seen Viper in-store myself, but my area's stores are far behind everyone else usually. When I first went there around Sept. last year, they still had Defensor and Superion stuff. Went to Universal today. Picked up Evac. They actually had Sky Lynx for sale... but it was marked at $40, so don't bother making a trip for that.

Evac himself is okay. He's a $25 bay deluxe park exclusive... and, well, there isn't anything completely awful about him that would make me really regret the purchase.

His ankles can rock to the side, which is nice even though I would've preferred forwards-and-backwards articulation instead. The only issue I have with him is that his hands will be scraping the floor in vehicle mode, and his front wheels will never touch the ground as a result of that.

Yeah, he was cool lookings, but Megatron was basically a chump because Shockwave was always there to stab him at every turn for no reason.

You know what; I like that. It was so early on that Megatron and Optimus always needing to be leaders wasn't hammered in just yet. And while Optimus and Megatron where made leaders because they where the biggest toys in '84, they where soon eclipsed, which made the biggest toy=leader thing invalid. Ratbat was simply the smartest, most capable leader so people followed him. It makes the Decepticons seem more like an actual army than a gang of brutes. Real life armies and nations and other organizations don't follow the biggest, strongest person.

It's just more ridiculous because Ratbat was a chest minion, not even really a full bot in his own right, something that another guy kept in his chest to sic on his enemies, who somehow turned out to be a capable leader and not, you know, virtually anyone else. Like Soundwave, or Starscream, or...Etc.

He was just a weird all around choice to make a leader character. Also doesn't help he really never had a good figure.

Its a weird choice, yes, but I like the fact that he was a leader despite being essentially an accessory. It breaks the mold of him being a typical minion and becoming something greater. That's something I really like about all the G1 bios; at least in the first few years. Everyone got a detailed bio and a personality; a $40 toy got the same work put into giving him a personality as a $5 toy.

Not that many other G1 figures were much better. Man, nothing makes me realize how far we've come in terms of engineering than looking at my G1 shit. Even the crappiest toys today are usually more articulated.

Defensor was pretty good. Pretty stable overall, and everybody looks great.

Bruticus is good as well, but for me Brawl is kinda meh, Blast Off's head doesn't look right, Vortex has the ugly toy colors, and Swindle, while a fantastic mold, seems waay too beefy for Swindle. Onslaught is fine.

Granted, I have no nostalgia for any of the original combiners so I'm going purely from a design perspective.

Menasor is a shit combiner but individual bots rule, while Superion is kind of the opposite- most solid combined mode but aerialbots are all kinda samefag.

Devastator's pretty damn good, especially with upgrades or buying the UW version, but he's not scramble city and way bigger than the others.

Motorcycle mode is a bit awkward looking.
That fucking rear wheel is difficult to form and yeah the front wheel fork will be the first to break. Didnt even know it was hollow.

Groove makes a good leg though.

I know it WILL drive up the price but what if every head had a sound chip that triggers different sounds (as in unique to each head) when plugged into a deluxe and bigger body?

Wouldn't that be nifty stuffing scourge's head onto chromedome's body and him saying his name or even a cartoon quote and maybe a unique laser sound?

Have the head act as a chip and the body contain the electronics, though looks like with their current engineering only some figures can do this (TR cerebros does this but it doesn't detect the head, its just push buttons in the head column that change depending on what fort max mode/cerebros form he's in )

Legends Ultra Magnus is done in toy colors with minimus ambus done as alpha trion for no reason at all.
