Whether they be Golden Age, grungy 80's, mechs, mechanical kaiju, or what have you...as long as their visually robots...what are the best?

Just the best, imo. Hoping to have one soon
Clover
does anyone remember a figure from the 80s-90s was a robot type figure, almost looked like a macross mixed with one of the guys from the vanquish game. He was teal in color with smooth/glossy brown paint if i remember correctly. It was some sort of random transformer or robot guy, i think he may have had slightly better articulation than your average figure from that era.

You're probably thinking of Orguss. This is from an early 80s anime called Super Dimension Century Orguss. For some reason, Orguss toys were widely bootlegged and sold in the US in the early 90s as "Convertible Robot"...not really sure why. I owned one of these bootlegs too.
Back in the day, McFarlane had some cool robot/demon things in the Spawn line. This mufucka was always causing problems for my heroes.
Another Spawn robot...i remember getting it cause it was like a badass robo-chocobo...i was too edgy for my own good as a child...
Interlink 6.
Never had all of him, but what I did have was fun.

>Spawn had a COMBINER?
They had like 3 or 4 IIRC.

that first one i posted is also a combiner...with one other robot, but they're infinitely better separate imo
aaaand bottom half for good measure. Look up spawn gruesome twosome if you want.

Really wanted a Nimrod figure when I was a kid growing up, as Nimrod was cool as shit. Instead we got a cherry red piece of shit plastic that didn't even LOOK like Nimrod.
