Is it me or is the NECA 1954 Godzilla more accurate in proportion than the 1954 SHMA?
When I first saw the 54 SHMA I was like "Damn, the NECA one has such a big head" but then I'm looking at pictures of the actual suit and it did have a big head, and the SHMA's looks a tad too small. The NECA one's pretty close. I would prefer it if his eye was looking outwards rather than forwards like the movie though. And more depth in the scales like the SHMA. Glad to see they didnt give it a gloss finish though.
Besides the SHMA's head being a tad small his legs look a little skinny too. right?

Still gonna pick him up though, looks like an amazing figure regardless.

Like, for the NECA and SHMA 1954s. Imagine the proportions and sturdyness of the NECA, combined with the sculpt detail paint and articulation of the SHMA.

Lads I'm conflicted, I really want to collect all the monsterarts Gojis but their prices are getting outrageous. But my 'tism flares at the thought of settling for neca and having a mixed collection like with GMK Godzilla and '54 being made by both. I prefer to not break the bank buying these, but I want a uniform collection.

I just get the stuff that I actually like. I've got Birth and 2001(gray) and I thought I'd be getting more, but everything MA is pumping out is overpriced, comes with no accessories, or just doesn't even look that good.

I'd buy their GMK, but being Canadian and it being exclusive makes that really, really difficult to do for under $130, so I have no problems settling with NECA since they are good figures too.

But personally I've always found Bandai's figures lacking for the price.

Based off the photos this will be a the biggest Monsterarts G by far guessing height to be 7.5 to 8 inches that's just the height. The tail that's a whole other figure in it self.

I'm kind of sick of Monster Arts getting a pass on being overpriced just because it's Godzilla. This Shin Goji really pushes it too far. I was super interested in these figures when I found out about them. I LOVE the concept of having figures that are Kaiju suit actors.

Theres a 2 pack of Megalon and Jet, a 2 pack of 1964 Godzilla and Ghidora, and then theres a 1954, a b&w 1954, and a Final Wars godzilla. Then some Gameras too.

But all the reviews said the micromen would break just from being looked at, and were unbelievably difficult putting on the suits, and that the suits would render the really good articulation on the micromen figures useless.

Vinyls are a lot more reasonable on shelf space versus statues/kits, and for the price range + size they usually have very nice sculpts and paint apps. In general there's just an expansive library of vinyls that exist so it's fun to collect every character and their variants.

The movie monsters release of King Caesar in particular is one of my favorites toys just for the latter, even if the sculpt itself is an odd representation of the character.

It's almost 8" tall, has a bunch of FX noises, classic Godzilla music, and different light up settings. Larger SHMA figs go for $150-$200, so a larger figure + bells and whistles = bring on more SHMAKKK figs.

I think it's kind of irresponsible to tell people that vinyls are affordable. If you want a vinyl figure that is a couple of years old you will pay $80+. That's at least for godzilla figs, ultraman is a little different. Even though I know that I'm getting raped by monsterarts. I would rather pay for something that is more accurate to the design than some vinyl made in the 90s for the same price. I think battra larvae is a good example of that. Really sought after vinyls have shot up in price yeah, but I paid $30 for my King Caesar and don't regret it. Also you're pointing out aftermarket which is naturally going to be higher than MSRP, but I've bought the new Ultra spark vinyls for as low as $8 a piece and the new Godzilla vinyls for G'14 and Shin are very cheap too.

That woudn't apply to Jet Jaguar there, more of an issue with the Gs since the suits have very little cuts (one in the back to put the body, and one for each hand and leg).

If you're a hamhands sure, taking care of the jonts and lubricating them would negate this. Those are a bit old by now so careful handling should be a given. The clear plastic might be more fragile, that's not up for discussion.

The way I see it is you get a cool action figure and a cut up sofubi that you can display with some wire armature inside. For artculated kaiju you can really play with there's fewer real options sadly, but for that anon who wants Jet Jaguar there's no other choice so he might as well.
