Depends on the clothes. FAGs are quite a bit bigger than Shinkis so have the opposite problem.

Things like hoodies and tops seem to fit nicely. Skirts and dresses I've had no luck with.

The holes in the bottom of her thighs are 3mm, so as long as it has a 3mm peg you can put it on there.

Or you can even connect two 3mm holes together via a piece of runner. That's how I attached my Heavyarms missile pods to my Gourai.

I managed to get Assault Lily clothing onto Materia. Two minor obstacles were that Materia has a slightly shorter neck so anything in the collar area that juts out will push against her head. I couldn't fit the skirt around her waist so it is hiked all the way up to where she is thinnest at the midsection. As a result, Materia's underpants are barely concealed from the front and are plainly visible from the rear.
They have the same arm length but Materia's legs are significantly longer.

For a first kit, I've seen worse. But right now you need to stop.

Go to the nearest arts and crafts store and buy
1. A new xacto knife
2. A pack of blades. (I think #18 are pretty good for kits. But basically anything where the blade faces forwards instead of down)


Very carefully, go back over her and cut off the nubs. Try to make the cuts as smooth and flat as possible.

This is the first most important thing you can do to make her look good.

Outside of conventions, you won't find any 'spare' ones. You might get lucky on Yahoo Japan Auctions, and I know of at least one Taobao seller who makes shinki shit, but honestly, the cheapest and most reliable way might be to make resin recasts yourself.

Other than that, unless you're looking for specific hands and faces, you'll need to just buy cheap shinkis.

Hoarded might be a strong word since I'm sure people are using them for dressup and not just buying them just to have. But they're more versatile so people keep them longer. Like I have a flesh blank with my Werkstra right now. Since I have other shinkis, I'd keep the blank even if I sold Werkstra. Blanks only change hands when someone liquidates their entire collection pretty much, I'd say.

That said, with the price of them these days, I've been incredibly tempted to get into recasting. Too many shinks have bodies that are busy enough that they look weird when dressed and it would be prohibitively expensive to get blanks for all my girls. I have that MMS3rd tall rivetless nude body from that taobao seller still disassembled, so I could make a recast of a recast fairly easily. How difficult is resin casting to get into? Do I really just need silicon for the mold, the resin, and a box?

Yeah. I couldn't believe my luck when I saw her. Honestly though I'm glad I didn't pay too much for her- whilst I love her design, her posing options are seriously limited when she's all armoured up. She can't really stand very well (the stand doesn't angle down enough to allow for anything other than leaping poses) and her armoured arms are seriously hindered due to the lack of proper elbows. I still love her though and I need to get a Maochao to go with her.

I mean, I could fix this shit if it were a clean break but the plastic is all twisted to shit. Seriously, what the fuck is up with these shitty joints, Koto? The ankle assembly on my Stylet basically did the same thing (but also crumbled to pieces).

I could probably dremel out the area and install a regular ball joint, but that would look weird compared to to left arm. I'm already using a bunch of busted-up old Gundam parts for her backpack, though, so I guess I could just find some forearms and use the adapters she came with.

Still, though. Really pisses me off.
