>>
>>5692836
Unit 2 and 3 as a p-bandai twin pack, or just Unit 3 as p-bandai and then unit 2 as normal.

Can't tell if they will distinguish between movie and tv versions.
>>
>>5692557
Vifam only has one one or two releases left, realistically and L-Gaim probably has 3 or 4 left. Cross Ange is also probably already dead too considering they avoided doing new tooling for the past several releases. I'm curious what will replace those lines as well. I just hope it doesn't end up being even more UC or Seed Gundam.

Maybe bring Fafner back? That has a shit ton of stuff left considering Bandai mostly only released recolors of the Nothung Models instead of anything with new molds. FMP has a couple things they could put out next year to coincide with the new anime next year too.

I suspect Layzner is a shoe in as well as a possible Xabungle line. Gorg could only support three releases tops, Votoms has a ton of other modern Bandai stuff already, and Galient isn't terribly popular as far as I know (though if they must stick with 80s Sunrise Real Robots it or Gorg would be ideal in my opinion).

Ugh..... same size as Revoltech, but more expensive.
With Phantom Labor on the horizon, hopefully they release some of the more obscure labors like TV/OVA's Peacemakers, Saturn, or reactive armor labors.

Hey guys, I was wondering if the repaired Kshatriya was a full suit, or just an option set? Cause it says parts in the title, but as far as I can tell otherwise it's a full suit of its own.
>>

The prototypes appear to be fully-painted from head to toe like the SHF Stormtroopers.

I'm happy to pay a bit extra for that, it means the white won't yellow over time.

It's a full, complete figure! The parts comes from the fact that it includes parts for you to convert it between the Besserung (OVA episode 6) and Repaired (episode 7) configurations.

I wasn't too surprised about Barbatos going on a steep discount---it was already predicted in this board.

Thanks for the heads-up. I cancelled my Civil War Cap preorder earlier after seeing the early 2chan pics, and picked Char's Zaku up instead.

I'm the guy from the last thread who just picked the ANIME RX-78-2. I promise I'll take some nice pictures of them together when Char arrives.
>>
>>5696018
What's wrong with the new Cap fig?
>>
>>5696035
I just didn't like the look of it. The 3D-printed faces are fine, but the body bugged the fuck out of me in the in-hand pictures. Looks more like segmented armour than a cloth outfit and the legs are really weirdly skinny vs the film design, they look like skin-tight leggings.

I think I might just take the plunge on a Hot Toys EvansCap, the new Civil War version looks pretty definitive.

I'm loving this Zaku II. The amount of accessories it comes with is rediculous.
>>
>>5697935
How do you get the leg missiles on?
>>
>>5697959
How did I get it on the rocket launcher or how did I attach it to the leg? Answer to the first question is there's a peg in there for it, answer to the second question is it took for god damn ever and was annoying as fuck. I eventually had to hold the back part with my finger while connecting it one peg at a time with my other hand.
>>
>>5697986
It was so annoying that I just gave up on doing the other leg. I'll get it later.
>>
>>5697896

Completion-ism is the way to madness. Just buy the specific stuff you really love. Makes your collection more eclectic and unique. Saves your wallet and takes up less space. Makes you happier.

If you always really loved the Vierres, by all means, grab that fucker. But if the only reason to get it is cause they made it, maybe you are better off pretending it doesn't exist.

>>
>>5698234
I like the entire Dunbine line. Skipping the hyper Leprechaun though,

I am a semi-completionist. If a mould is good, then I would get all colour variations of that mould unless the colour is ugly. Like how I got all the VF-25s but only two of the YF-29s.
>>
>>5698234
Not him, but it's hard for me to not want to buy more Dunbine RD's. The few figures I've gotten from it are fantastic, and they're some of the most unique mech designs out there.

As much as I want more Dunbine RDs for my collection, I think I'm gonna stop where I'm at with Dunbine, Todd's Drumlo, and Virunvee. But it's so tempting to pick up anything from the Leprechaun to a Fou, just because I love the designs so much.
>>
>>5698482

If you love the Leprechaun, you might want to go ahead and get it. It's one of the best Aura Battlers they've made. Sweet hand-candy.
>>
>>5698482
>and they're some of the most unique mech designs out there.
This is really only true in terms of a comparison to other 80s mechs. The RD line alone has released a bunch of mechs far more out of the box than any of the Aura Battlers. Just look at the Fafners, the Anti-Zegas, Tauburn, or Dann for examples. Not to say that I'm shitting on the Aura Battlers, they have a lot of good designs and generally the esthetic was very innovative for their time. I just think "some of the most unique ever" is an overstatement.

I do think Drumlo and Zwarth stand out as some of the more interesting Dunbine designs and are still very unique in their style to this day. The incorporation of their backpacks as the carapace in their beetle motif isn't something that I can think of as being repeated. The heroic units tend to be far more in line with the general proportions of other 80s robots. I'd love to know how well Dunbine merchandise sold in comparison to the other Sunrise robot shows of the 80s.

>But it's so tempting to pick up anything from the Leprechaun to a Fou
I usually see the Leprechaun going pretty cheap. You could probably pick one up for under $35 if you shopped around and waited for a good opportunity.

I'm the anon that had the broken Shenlong part a few months ago. Don't bother contacting them, they don't deal with non-Japanese residents. You'll need to go through a proxy, pay for the part, pay to have it shipped to the proxy from Bandai, then pay the proxy their fee and the cost to ship it to you. Using SAL you'll still be paying 2000JPY+.

Just wait for Bluefin to bring it over, buy another Zaku from them (everyone needs plural Zakus), and claim the flawed piece came with that one. Their customer service isn't the 8th level of hell like Bandai JP's, they'll help.
>>
>>5698637

Thanks for the advice anon, are you talking about snagging it off amazon?
>>
>>5698759
Yeah, when Bluefin distributes it. Not sure if they've even announced it yet, though. I don't really keep track. One thing to note is that Bluefin's CS requires you to input the code on the stickers that they themselves put on the boxes, so you can't just buy the JP version and expect them to help. It sucks, but what can you do? I guess that you could always ask an anon here for their code, they're all the same for each individual item I think.

Look, everyone understands that the retro look is not for everyone. Personally, I prefer the modern iterations of MSG suits over the anime accurate ones. But that doesn't mean that the ANIME RDs look like 'shit.' They look like they are supposed to be, anime accurate. So what you really are trying to say is that you don't like the look--just fuckin say that if you are so inclined in voicing your hot opinion. Shitposting is a waste of time.

>>5701268
Nothing really. I don't have the Aile Strike so I can't confirm if it uses the same body (not that it would necessarily be a bad thing), but I'm inclined to say that it doesn't because it is in scale with modern RDs.

The biggest issue for me was the face. It looks a bit elongated from a profile view but once I had it in hand I was pleased that it was not a problem. It is a bit back heavy because of the Noir pack but the wings have crazy articulation so you have many options in balancing it and getting a cool pose. For some reason the trigger hands work better for holding the anti-ship swords than the regular grasping hands---I actually like this a lot because I hate having to swap parts in a toy. I would post pics but the Noir packed because I am moving.

At such a deep discount I would recommend it. I guess if you don't like the design that's still a no go. But if you are even the slightest bit inclined and have the $ then go for it.
>>
So as it turns out the horns on Barbatos are kind of fragile and easily snap if, say, it falls off your desk. Oh well. At least they're heavily discounted on CDJapan. Expensive mistake, but it could have been worse.

Ouch, sorry to hear that anon. I've had antenna get bent due to dorp before, but was luckily always able to bend them back into shape with no ill effects. Bandai used to be really good about including spare antenna/v-fins at the beginning of the line, but now that's more the exception than the rule.

That being said, two of my recent RDs have included spares (Char's Zaku and the Xi; ANIME RX-78 kinda includes one too if you count the vulcan muzzle efffect).

Bluefin doesn't even release exclusives for the RD line, at least currently. Only SHF and Monsterarts get webshop releases in the United States.

I hear Tamashii Nations has significant say in what they bring over which is why the RD line always ends up on clearance on places like Amazon. They just push Bluefin to bring over the latest standard releases, even if they're things like Vifam or Wataru that have never even been licensed in the US. Predictably they end up bombing and Tamashii Nations/RD management decides it must be because of a lack of interest in the entire line, justifying their decision to not bother putting out stuff like webshop releases overseas. A classic vicious cycle.

Also, I got my Crossbow in today. He's pretty cool. Hopefully I can get my lightbox set up and do some photos I've been interested in later tonight or tomorrow.

>I love Rise From the Ashes but I don't $90 shipped love it.
Dang anon, you used to be cool... haha, nah I totally get where you're coming from. One thing that helps defray the cost though, is that most Mandarake listings give you TWO Dingoes.

This is because when the Dingo Sniper was originally released, Bandai actually forgot a paint app. To correct this, Bandai shipped out free replacement GM bodies with the corrected paint app to people who had ordered. That's why in the listing you linked there's a Dingo inside a baggie, that's the replacement GM!

The missing paint app is barely noticeable (can you spot it here?), and even when you do see it it still totally works as a paint variation within the squad. I 'only' paid $70 shipped for mine, so it was easy to justify that as paying 35 bucks for each Dingo. They're really excellent figures, and the White Dingo deco looks superb! Definitely recommended if you've got cash to burn.

>>5704945
>Might take some pictures later.
Dooooo it.

>>5705130
Looking forward to your pics! For removing nubs, the absolute best way (in my opinion) is to use a very sharp hobby knife to shave them off, and then a fine file to smooth out the spot if needed. Tools that clip or cut the nub off tend to pinch the plastic together, which results in a not so clean looking mark after you remove the nub.

For a small nub/area though, it might not be too noticeable if you just cut the nub off. Just be sure that the tool you use is sharp.

Orders are still open on amiami, so it'll probably end up on clearance eventually. Most Tamashii Nations stuff there either sell out in minutes or end up price cut for lack of demand. Seriously, almost every RD for the past half year has ended up getting major price cuts. The OYW stuff is some of the only things that haven't and those were cheaper anyway. From my limited knowledge of other Gundam products, I know the original RX-78-2 and the HCM Pro versions came with even more than this, but coming into this line off the back of SHF Star Wars, where you're lucky to get more than four hands and a gun or lightsaber with each figure, damn. While I like the Zeon designs more than the Feddie scum, in all honesty the Char's Zaku isn't as well-made as the Gundam. It's got a few rough edges here and there, and has a more soapy texture as opposed to the lovely satin finish on the RX-78-2. It doesn't handle ground poses as well either.

That said, it's still a ton of fun. Will probably pick up a couple of regular Zakus to go with it.

Two great toys, but the Feddies win this round. Char's solid, but the Gundam is exceptional. I preordered everything else that's coming up except the exclusives after getting these.

I feel a bit guilty going all-in on the ANIME stuff despite never having finished 0079, I should probably go back and watch it to the end really...

Just watch the movie trilogy if you want the basic jist of the story. It's done quite well so you're not missing anything important plotwise. And the updated animation is a plus.

Just stay away from the dub (of the movies) unless you're looking for some unintentional comedy.

Hey guys, I just got a Drumlo and I'm wondering; is the does the Drumlo's cockpit click into place or something? There's nothing to keep it in place.
>>
>>5710954

Not really. Because of the waist articulation it has the ability to sorta float around. It's up to the user to position it best for a given pose.

Or do you mean you have a loose cockpit door? Mine will close up nicely and stay closed.

Robot day is my favorite day!

Got the Grunt Zaku and the Glaug in today. I like Char's Zaku just a little more than the grunt, but the grunt comes with some fantastic accessories. The little handle for the door to Side 7 is neat and esoteric inclusion.

I'm a big Battletech fan, so I couldn't pass up getting what the Unseen Marauder was based off of. The figure's fantastic and towers over most RD's and my Hi-Metal VF1. Really well engineered figure, and the sculpt and paint are top notch.

Hard to go wrong with the Glaug. I got it in along with my Figuarts Mace Windu and Captain America (CW ver) and loved the hell out of it.

It's big and hefty and has some very nice joints on it. Can't really think of anything wrong with it, let alone worth hating on it. Despite how sturdy the leg joints are on it I'm using the stand just for the sake of safety, since mine is sitting up on my desk with a bunch of other goodies.

Have her, and think the figure is decent; but can't say the AGP is something you can play with really.

QC on the paint/tampo is pretty good. Though the yellow trim on the base body, looks more like a 'mustard'; than the brighter yellow everywhere else might be my only gripe.

So far for part attachment issues, only part that comes off easily is the backpack with the thrusters attached for mine; as well as the Vulcan-pod for the head making it a bit cluttered with the twin-tails. Articulation is limited or well awkward on the figure, certain things like a 'Launching!' pose, took me modding the ankles, waist-side armor, and the wrap-around 'belt' part for the waist to give the legs enough clearance to move as such.

Not the brick the GFF ultimately was, but not something we could play with like a RD.

Hope this helped a bit, and what's your other AGP figure if you don't mind me asking?

Took some shots! Lost a ton of time fixing my Figuarts Mace Windu so didn't take all that many though (sorry >>5712391 !).

Both figures are great, and >>5712803 was totally right, love the Dom! My one gripe with the Dom is that on mine, the right ankle joint is soooo dang tight. Everything else is superb though (looks gorgeous, excellent range of motion), and hopefully that ankle joint loosens up a bit over time.

Zaku is great too! >>5697986 is totally right that attaching the leg missile packs is a huge pain in the butt. Once you get the hang of it though, it's not bad; after finally getting one set on I was able to immediately attach the other set.

The trick is to first attach the rear half as you're supposed to, then while holding that half in place with one finger, connect the halves at the inner-leg side. After that, push together the halves on the outer-leg side. They'll snap together once you push them close enough.

Kinda easier said then done as it still takes some finger gymnastics though, haha.

Zeek group shot, can't wait to add the Gouf and Desert Zaku (thanks for the video >>5711711 !) to the line up. Would have liked if the grunt Zaku were a slightly darker shade of green, but still overall super happy with both the Dom and grunt Zaku. Especially love the Zaku's cracker grenades.
>>
>>5713570
>the right ankle joint is soooo dang tight

Makes it easier, and I think safer, to rotate the ankle joint if you tilt the foot into an extreme forward position first (toe pointing up).
>>

>>5713573

Which do you think is more fun in hand? The Dom or the Zaku mold?

Very good advice, I'd been doing something similar (bringing the foot all the way forward) so that I could reach in and get a grip on the ankle assembly to have leverage when moving the foot and hopefully limit any stress on the joint connection points.

>>5713630
Oh man, that's so hard to say. If you forced me to pick, I'd give the slight edge to the Zaku simply on account of its accessories, which give you more play options.

The Dom is no slouch, though! Just in terms of the figure alone, I think it's definitely the superior RD. It just looks so dang good and the range of motion is perfect for darn near any pose you can come up with. I really think that whichever RD you pick, you're gonna have fun with it!

Thanks much for the input. I already have the Dom, and count it up there with the Drumlo and Leprechaun as one of the line's best.

And lately I've been tempted by pics of the green Zak. Most of the accessories don't do much for me, but if the figure is good solid hand-candy, I think I'll have to grab one.

It is tough, I now just focus on upcoming releases rather than exploring existing releases through pre-owns.

Over the past few years, upon completing one line after another, I just find another one and sometimes have to pay premium pricing for past releases to play catch up.

Impulse buy would be buying a heavily discounted pre-own to test out the line and then end up completing the line. In short, Impulse buys are unplanned.
