>>
>>5691357
We ARE the younger generation. Anyone using 4chan older than 30 is a degenerate whose opinion can be safely discarded, and the people under 18 are also part of this generation, and I think it's safe to say most of them aren't in /toy/. I'd say most of them use reddit and tumblr now anyway.

that aside, i think the joke is that there no meme associated with her

>>

>>
>>5691371
Why not? Happening threads are fun, you can find news from unbiased sources and sometimes even before it hits any outlets, theres good information to read if you ignore all the "hur dur nigs and jews" bullshit and dont take it seriously. Also, as its an election year, presidential meme threads can be pretty funny, no matter which side or lack there of you are on the political spectrum.

Honestly, the "/pol/ boogeyman" has always been pretty funny yet sad at the same time. So many people are scared of evil words on a screen. Just ignore what you dont like, and like what you DO like, same with any board. I also go on /tv/ for marvel threads when they are good, but the rest of that board is shit. Doesnt stop me from going there, though.

If you liked Hot Dog Guy, your best advice is to acquire one as soon as possible, because he was a really popular character and prices for him are shooting up now that the line is retired.

I don't know how much of this you're aware of, but Lego has been putting out waves of Collectable Minifigs (CMFs) for a few years. Most waves have 16 different minifigs, all random (some space-themed, some City-themed, some fantasy-themed, etc.). We usually get leaks about 6-8 months in advance, but beyond that there's no way to know what's coming up in the future. Hot Dog Guy and Banana Guy were from the CMF line. There will probably be more foodpeople in future waves.

Alternatively, if you just want the hot dog suit, this Friends set comes with it >>5692105

or else you can just buy an aftermarket one on Bricklink.

Heh thanks. Yeah it isn't pretty but it's functional, meant to be a cargo hauler for a small mining operation. It's a wild sector so the ship packs significant firepower with its two combat drones and defensive armament, it can also separate from the cargo section for increased speed and agility, the cargo section acting as a third drone if necessary.

I really enjoyed the modular designs of the old spaceship sets, tend to use that often in my own ships.

I was holding out until then anyway considering the neat promo items for spending $50+ directly from lego coming out soon. I'm sure some places will be leaking early, but I'll just be patient.

I noticed the minifig-palooza park set is going to be $49.99 for us too. I miss when our money wasn't floundering, but that also means you just need to toss 1 penny into your cart to pick up that lovely fountain coming out the same day.

I heard June 1st, but I might be getting trolled. It's either that or August.
>>
>>5692436
June 1st is for a few new sets, so it could be. If you've heard the same about the other spidey sets then it's believable.

Personally I'd imagine a July/August release as more likely though to get bored kids on summer vacation buying sets, and that's decently spaced time-wise from the last wave of super heroes sets. I know around here they're still stuck in class for another month.

I'm also amazing at underestimating lego's business model, so there's that too.

tl;dr It's definitely summer. Probably.

I'm trying to find lego's official stance on people making duplicates of rare pieces and selling them.

If they find out, and are able to do so, they will sue you into oblivion. There's a reason bootleggers don't actually 100% copy parts, and are usually China based.

>>
>>5693725

>>
>>5693825
Sounds like a fools errand. Costs to set up would probably never let you make a profit, especially if your product isn't up to expectation's par. Experimenting with different colours is cool, but likely not enough to get enough business. I'm also not sure how many fans would really want a knock off part, but I haven't kept up with those sets for ages.
>>
>>5693764
If you're not sticking the LEGO brand on them, or claiming they are official LEGO you should be okay. If you do get in trouble with them the first thing they'll do is send you a cease and desist, it's only after refusing that they would try to sue. Plenty of other big toy companies have knock offs and third parties making unofficial products and they're doing fine.
>>
>>5693844
I have had a number of them mention that they would buy from me, and there's already a certain market for customized masks.

Next logical step would be to start making adequate fakes, but I'm not quite certain due to the questionable legal nature of this. I never really expected to be able to do anything more than keeping myself steady in materials anyway.

I'm aware of one other person who has done something like this before, but apparently with metal. I don't know much about them but I'm looking into it.

>>5690850

>>
>>5693856
Metal is a lot easier to work with I'd imagine. Much more straight forward, and quality is easier to keep up. Just make a mold, then pour molten metal in, cool, polish, done. Much less fickle, and a faulty mask can always be melted down again without loss of quality.

Considering how proper LEGO is made, and how comparable knockoffs can scale that production model as well, doing them in plastic will be a bit of a mountain to climb.

If you're interested, I'd say at least research potential ways to start up. Just know LEGO can shut you down if they wanted--provided they ever find out.

Seconded. I've been wanting to make an accurate Basilisk from Harry Potter and have run into the same problem.
>>

That nullipede was built by making each segment with one end having a 1x2 hinge brick with a 1x2 jumper plate on it, and the other end having a 1x2 Technic hole brick. Looked good, but was annoying to work with because the slightest glance caused the top to fall off.

Because the actual building was originally two firehouses conjoined and at some point they sold off half the land and cut it in half. I'm thinking of a thread for minifigs and """""useful"""'" pieces, and sets too of course. It would be more niche than the main BST thread's audience, who only buy and sell sets if anything.

Shipping is expensive relative to parts and minifigs so wts/wtb lists should be long to get better value per trade and more likely to find a buyer/seller.

Yeah, we were down for hours. I had to actually go outside!

Although I can't answer your question, I've got one of my own regarding 6-7 wide vehicles- which wheels work best for realistic-styled cars if you don't want to use those goddamned over-wheel fender pieces every single vehicle has?

The standard wide chunky ones (pardon the lack of technical language, only just got back into Lego recently after fifteen years) are too big to really look good on smaller sedan-sized builds unless you're using those fucking fenders (even though everyone uses them anyway) which don't always fit the thing you're making, the tiny ones are too tiny for a proper minifig-sized vehicle, the thinner ones are better but still kind of tall to look how I want, and the last ones look perfect size-wise but need the thicker axle (why, Lego? why?) and are harder to come by.

You've got a few options for the small axle type.
>>
>>5695371
Yeah, I've spent most of the night (admittedly half-asleep) looking through and seeing what exists, and most of the small-axle types are either the same miniature size as in that image (which looks silly when building a properly-proportioned six-by-whatever vehicle) or the larger wheel with the low-profile tyre that ends up the same height as the 'chunky' wheels you see on all the City vehicles.

No, they don't have old sets. Each employee has a name badge that has a minifigure on it. you can trade any minifigure you have for the one on the badge. Most of the employees have very basic or random figures, but after a while they end up with super heroes or starwars figures that the kids trade them. Very rarely you find some older guys.

Upon doing more research, I discovered that while the bumpy type is a good size between the big and small wheels, the slick tire on the lower right wheel makes it the same height as the 'too small' top right one anyway, for zero gain other than using the big axle so it looks silly.

Why would you do that, Lego.

Having options like that is one of the things I like about Lego. And I've used the technic-pin wheels before, in cars and tank running gear.

I like options too, but goddamn, there's already like six different other, older wheel/tire combos of that same dimension. I've got three of them in front of me right now.

The bumpy wheel type on that odd sized hub though seems to be the perfect size for what I'm looking for (slightly smaller than the 21x9.9 [?] low-profile ones on the new City stuff), so it looks like it's time to hit up bricklist for some of those and those excellent flat grey wheels. I can picture seventeen types of steelies-and-spraypaint shitboxes these could be used for.

I feel like a kid in a toy store again.

Do you need instructions? Because you could base a van off of the chassis of a pickup or suv and extend the back. Lego had some suvs a while back (one with horses I think).

If you go 8 wide it gets easier, because you can use bricks for the walls and still have space inside. I think city builders stick to 6 at the most because all their trains are six wide.

Probably because Batman. I think kids who collect them must get bored of having 99999 Batman variants along with other minifigs.

Also most of Batman's vehicles are rather uninspired and take a hefty amount of the parts count for said sets, unnecessarily driving up the price especialy if you don't care about him, which is most of the time, especially when a new or exclusive minifig appears there.

I don't know why TLG decides to include him in literally every fucking set apart from the ones that are not centered around him.

>>5695902
>Was the line controversial?
It's like Castle 2013, it's simple and not revolutionary. It gets the job done but didn't innovate and didn't reproduce everything that everyone loved from the old lines.

For example, the monkey isn't used for the Pirates line. The parrots are mixed red/green plastic and not printed attractively like the old ones. There's only one ship.

It's a good line but not a great line.
>>
>>5695902
I think that it was kinda underwhelming at MSRP. It lacked variety on sceneries and most sets were in the "at least one figure of each side" format, which wasn't very good if you were only interested in one faction in particular.

Only one local department store had them on stock and later started putting them on clearance, except for the Brick Bounty which I was somewhat interested in buying at a lower price.
Looks like the put it on clearance later as they didn't have it the next time I went back there.
