For a long time the Revo was basically the only decent, articulated collector's figure of the character available. The biggest problem with it is that it's a Yamaguchi sculpt, so it's designed for dynamic poses and looks awkward as shit standing straight up like that. It also tries real hard to mimic the goofy proportions of Mamo/Part II era Lupin, which can make for some awkward articulation like those strange ass shoulders and the tiny knees that pop apart constantly.

The good news is that if you have both the silly proportions of the Revo's head and hands mean they go really well with the Figuarts as you can see here >>5679847

The Revo comes with a lot more accessories too. Lock pick hands, a jewel holding hand, a revo-box disguised as a safe, a glass of booze, table and chair, bullet impact effects, and a rappelling rope. So considering how damn cheap it is, it actually works really well as an accessory pack for the Figuarts even now.

This is still my favorite Lupin figure, but the Shf is superior, although the face is a little off. I think the smirking face on the Revo is still the best sculpt on a Lupin figure..

I've been salivating over it for a while now. I always hear good things but I kinda put it on the back burner now that the SHF is here. I still love the insanely lanky proportions of it and the Fujiko Mine design in general.

I put off watching that show for so long because I thought it was just gonna be some shitty spin-off and when I finally watched it I was so very pleasantly surprised. If anything it's probably the best the series has ever looked, though Jigen's Gravestone definitely comes close.

I made a 4 post long review of the Fujiko series in the previous thread. It is without a doubt the best looking Lupin series. The saturated colors and the cross hatching which is used for shadows gives it a unique style. It looks like a really expensive comic book but animated. I also notice certain lighting techniques that give the show a certain spark that makes it gorgeous to look at. It's hard to explain, it's the kind of thing where you see little speckles of light twinkling during a specific scene that just lights up the entire moment. Really gives it a larger than life kind of feel. Well anyway, that's just something little I notice in it. It really is the best looking anime I've seen since probably the 90's. most anime nowadays look the same. Literally every show had the same generic art. They really went all out on the show. It's probably the best animated Lupin since Dead or Alive. That film had a very beautiful artstyle. The amount of detail that went onto the architecture was incredible. The thing that sucked about Dead or Alive though was that Lupin looked really fucking weird. He had these big bushy eyebrows that just looked ridiculous. Also the plot wasn't that exciting, but it was beautiful to look at. The Fujiko series is not perfect, but it's still a fun watch. Really want to get the RAH Lupin, but I wouldn't pay over $200 for it.

I should mention the new Lupin series is also a very beautiful show. If you get the chance, take the time to just look at the backgrounds in the show. The amount of detail is truly stunning. From cracks in walls, to the designs on a chandelier that's at a far distance. Truly impressive.

No it's not. Lupin has a long, thin face and the distance of his mouth to the nose tends to vary depending on his expression. He's a comic character with goofy proportions.

He even has three other heads with less exaggerated expressions, and not just the low smirk so calling the whole thing horse shit because of one accurate face sculpt that's not to your liking is fucking retarded.

I'm not the one calling it shit. That was some other anon. I like the figure, but it's not perfect and it took me awhile to figure out what the problem is. It's really the lips. Too much depth, and too detailed. In the show it looks flat but because of them having to sculpt it, it came out just a bit too far out. Even when he's looking forward you can see how awkward it is.

I bought pic related a few years ago, back when I was first getting into collecting figures. I had no idea what prize figures were at the time and from the oversized fabric clothes I thought it was some vintage doll from back when the movie was first released, and figured it would be cool to have.

The clothes are a bit too big but I'm sure you can mess with it out of the box and make it look more presentable. Funny, because that's about how much I did pay for it. The heads are perfect though yeah, spot on to the movie design, and the ring it comes with, while cheap plastic, is really neat to have. I almost wish I'd gotten Clarice too so I'd have both gold and silver. But now that I own the Figuarts and Revoltech, it's kinda gone back in its box, if just because the articulation's a little too limited to make for a good display piece.

I'm amazed at what people are interested in. I like the Persona franchise but I'd never buy a figure. Is it just a casual thing or do you really like that series enough to want to own the figures. It is not the worst. Trust me. There really wasn't meant to be a plot or at least one that wasnt meant to take seriously. You're not even suppose to watch it for the plot anyway. It's just a fun tribute to the Lupin franchise.

The absolute worst are Return of Pycal and eternal mermaid. At least with Green vs Red, it had a lot of cool aspects. These movies are just stupid and boring.

The best will always be Cagliostro and Mamo. I also really love Fuma and Babylon despite it's flaws. Walter P38 and Missed By a Dollar are the best movies of the 90's.

Episode 0 is great. I think Jigen's Gravestone is overrated even though I love it. It's just way too short. They could of done more. Loved the Mamo references.

Also the 1st Detective Conan crossover is really underrated. It was a great film. I here return the treasure is also really good but it's one of the few I've never seen. Dead or Alive is not very good movie, but it's worth watching just for the art and animation.

I've seen Return of Pycal before, and while it's boring and has some of the worst CG I've ever seen, I'd still put Green vs Red lower. It's just not a good movie, and it literally has nothing going for it but the fanservice. It really doesn't help that I got really excited for it back when it was announced, and when it turned out the way it did, I couldn't stand it. It's like it's constantly going "Hey remember these much better cartoons and movies" when it's not forcing its political opinions down your throat. The whole thing just left me disappointed.

And yeah, I get what you mean about Jigen's Gravestone. You see a similar pattern with a lot of figuarts. The main protagonist lingers, while the side characters sell out. I know you keep saying tits and ass is a stupid reason, but the boom in posable anime figures came from figma's anime girls. There's a large portion of the market that'll just buy figures of cute girls. Plus Fujiko's body offers headswap possibilities, so a lot of people are buying it just for that.

It means it can only be ordered through certain retailers, usually (and in this case) only from the manufacturer. That means you have to pay what they want you to pay, including shipping, and you can't get nice discounts or combined shipping from places like amico. Depending on the manufacturer, it also might mean dealing with a proxy/forwarder, if they won't ship outdide of Japan.

Luckily enough, Bandai will ship him outside of Japan, so you just have to deal with paying full retail + global markup + shipping. It sucks, but it could be so much worse.

all Lupin designs look different. Yes all they'd really need to do is reprint the body molds, but the heads are completely different in each series. Not to mention, they'd obviously have different accessories. We'll always end up getting figures of Jigen, Goemon, and Zenigata, but what are the chances of ever getting a Lupin figure in the design of his looks from Series 3 or Cagliostro. Like streaming? For dub I use Watchcartoononline. They Have all the dub movies except Fuma Conspiracy. Also the dub of Cagliostro is the inferior streamline dub so don't watch that version. Don't know why they don't have the Manga dub which is much better.

They also have every dubbed episode of Part 2 and A Woman called Fujiko Mine. Not sure if they added Jigen's Gravestone yet.

For sub, check out KissAnime. Has all the subbed episodes of all the shows and movies.

Personally I'd rather just buy them all on DVD and BD, but some of the shit is not out yet.

They do though it is rare but once a discussion gets going it's solid for a while. Some of my favorites was when the new series was airing in Italy first and discussion popped when new subs would come out per episode.

The problem is getting things to going and keeping interest alive but it can happen seeing some of the Lupin anime posts in this thread versus the /toy/ ones.

There hasn't been much news lately to really do a thread for. I wanted to wait until perhaps when the Part 4 Dub gets a release date, but those cocksuckers won't give me any information. I think it would be stupid of them to not do all the jackets. They don't even need to spend money on new body molds because his build never changes. All they'd need to do is repaint it and have new head sculpts. PLUS more people are going to buy a green and red Lupin figure because those are the Lupin designs fans are more familiar with.
