Be careful of loose or stiff parts.
Stiff parts, use warm-but-not-boiling water, that's universal for pretty much any figure.

Loose parts can probably be dealt with in other ways. For the most part MoMos use imitation Revoltech joints, so there's a source for replacement parts.

Nice trips, checked

> Bandai Tamashii Nations Saint Myth Cloth 10th Anniversary Stand Set
These looks good as the base is bigger, and the set comes with some marble stairs, which is nice, but after checking in amazon I saw that it cost like 40 burgerdollaros, a bit expensive tbqh
is there a stand that have a big, wider base, similar to this one?

Not too sure, unfortunately. Maybe the Act 5 Tamashii stands?

Get rid of the empty space at the sides and make it slightly more taller. The Robot Damashii thread OP image is great. Easy to read as a thumbnail and high contrast.
Something more like that would improve that image a lot.

What's going on with the original effect line. I feel like it's dead. Judging by the website and certain items being in pre-order status for...years.

Much better to read as a thumbnail when scrolling down the page. I would have said the text could be a bit bolder but it might be readable enough when it's the OP image and larger that way.

>>5677015
It is pretty strange, it does seem like OE is focusing more on MoMos than its 1/6 figures but that's no reason to stop doing its 1/6 stuff, which unlike the MoMos hasn't earned any ill repute either.

I have faith in them, but that may just be me. One can only wait and see what the future holds.

I kind of agree, their FB page haven't been updated sinde July last year
We are getting more updated from Optune's twitter than form their official site and FB site
I guess that's why we feel that their 1/6 line is dead

On a side note, some anons were asking a few thread back about these small roboguys that the MoMos were bulling in the pics from the Optune's Wonfes booth, some suggested that they were customs (and they could be), But I just noticed that there is this line of little robot guys that could fill this role of abused manlet robots

>>
>>5683059
Considering previous trends I'd put my serious money on 4-6 months.

I think this most current wave of recolors and the monster wave will probably show us what's to come for the MoMo line as a whole. With this most recent wave, Optune has mentioned that things like gloss will be included; things that were neglected in previous releases (Hi-Riridine, Chocolatte, Eins, Zwei). If this recolor wave comes out to be good, and the monster wave afterwards comes out well too, I'd expect the bug line to follow shortly, if not the cephalopod pair.

Keep in mind "shortly" here would still likely mean something like months apart, assuming they're released at all. Cross those fingers!

Oh yeah, and also don't think about it -too- much. I really like MoMos but you always make yourself sad if you look out for something really closely and then get it. The anticipation makes getting the thing less fun. Patience and restraint.

The MoMos with no slated release make me think. Will they ever come? It's a msytery for now.

No problem, I didn't mean that your reply was rude at all, maybe my replay make it look that way, sorry
So...to rephrase the question; Is there any kind of Recolor that you want to see be done with a MoMo?

>Camouflage color
>Iron Man recolor
>Evangelion recolor
>>
>>5698940
I was thinking that metallic colors would be a very good idea. Stuff like bronze, brass, silver, and gold, and then for stuff like bronze and brass "rusted" variations on them, namely teal-green colors mied with other colors for bronze and brass. Similarly, simple gunmetal skin MoMos with any medley of 'clothing' could look pretty good.

A released MoMo with pink would be great. I feel like it's a color that's been oddly lacking amongst the MoMos, but you could say that of most colors, as the MoMos that have been released so far have, with the exception of the haute-couture types, been mostly monochrome blacks, whites, and grays with occasional highlights.

it's because the Takara version isn't a floppy QC mess like the Hasbro release. Same deal with Chromia- Hasbro used a gummy plastic while Takara is solid. This led to increased interest in the import versions.

Only reason Arcee is cheaper than them is because she got a 2nd production run.
>>
>>5704496
I want to buy the Takara Tomy Arcee and Chromia now.

Oh shit! I didn't see that.

I just glued the leg back together with a little super glue, absolutely nothing special about it. I'd wanted to do something a little more complex with some drilling n' pinning, but in the end I figured I could just glue it no problem.

I kinda wonder if I can return her leg to full functionality, the horizontal hinge is a little loose and she can't bend her leg over 90º, but that one's my fault.

Aips and both Slashers are up for preorder on BBTS, with a projected release date of Q3 2016.

>>

Yeah, for some reason the Western stores seem to put up the MoMo preorders before the Eastern ones. The Chocolatte and Hi-Riridine recolors out for PO now were in the same situation on BBTS and Ekia. I expect this'll clear itself up shortly.

I dunno about BBTS pricing. I feel like I hear bad things about them often, but besides that they're on Ekia hobby for ordinary MoMo prices, at around ~$75 as opposed to BBTS' ~$100.

Monster types are on Hobbylink. For those who won't be able to grab them very soon, therefore, this'd be the best bet of getting monstrous types within the coming months, as can be seen with Eins, Zwei, Daisy, and Clematis.

Hobbylink's search system is case-sensitive, for this reason the MoMos on sale are listed as MOMO whilst these types are listed under MoMo. Weird, huh?

Those prices...

280 cheaper on amiami. I know they typically have higher shipping, and these have diecast? I wonder if that has more or less of an effect on shipping price variation.

I've been waiting for these monster types before I go into MoMo. I guess I should see what the situation on Mandarake is. Very few listings, though they vary in how often they keep sold listings, it is an indicator. I guess the other place would be used listings on amiami? Though I haven't seen that often, aren't they usually not very good prices? I might have to limit myself to 1 cat despite being tempted by both.

I feel like these snuck up on me. It seemed like it would never come out and suddenly less than a month away.

My answer? Months, but I'd echo >>5757683 in that they'll probably be within the year.

Assuming the insect-types are the next up, the cephalopod types will only be coming up way after, and although OE has been putting out these MoMos fast, I'd still expect long waits.

At the very least we know that OE -is- being timely on delivery, as can be seen by all the japs with the new MoMo recolors. Unfortunately, it seems that the vendors simply aren't prioritizing us gaijins- I had my Xabungle mini-pla cancelled on me, for instance.

>>5757492
HobbyLink Japan, Hobbysearch, AmiAmi for new stuff.
Mandarake occasionally has a few MoMos.

BBTS, Amazon, and Ebay also occasionally have MoMos but the price bloat is a take-it-or-leave it affair. Ekia Hobby also has them but never seems to have them quite in-stock.

...... WTF am I missing here? Why is it ~$90 on HLJ and amiami and $75 on ekiahobbies?
... the Japanese sites have a release date of July, while ekiahobbies says OCTOBER 31ST??? WTF? 2-3 months?
The Japanese store pricing looks really strange. These things were originally like $60 or something, weren't they? Even BBTS shows a sold out listing for Cyuchergoh for under $60 and a couple others for $65.

Hm... $40 USPS Priority Mail International shipping to Canada for 3 figures. ... I THINK only the cheap "First Class" mail doesn't get taxed, am I right? Anyone in Canada or UK?
>>
What are your opinions on the production quality at this point? Do you think it's been fixed, or do we still need to wait for reviews before purchasing? Someone already expressed concerns over whether the shoulder joints could hold up the cat paws.

I hate uncertainty. I hate how dealing with the economy is always gambling. I just learned today about how you can mostly eliminate uncertainty by balancing long and short (basically betting whether stocks will go up or down). Very strange. They said the market was volatile now, but a lot of people are generally shorting, because everything's going to shit.
>>
>>5759019
First of, it's just the monster types that are more expensive in general. Second, both Ekia and BBTS have generally been odd about MoMo releases- for instance, when the last wave of recolors was first going up for PO, the English sites had them up ahead of the Japanese ones.

Second, ~$60 for a MoMo would be likeliest for the earliest ones, rather than the later ones. Unlucky, but that's how it is.

>>5759029
>What are your opinions on the production quality at this point? Do you think it's been fixed, or do we still need to wait for reviews before purchasing? Someone already expressed concerns over whether the shoulder joints could hold up the cat paws.

We just need to wait and see, but gambling is inherent to OE at the moment. It's unlucky but the best thing to do about it, if you really want to avoid it, is to not buy MoMos. It's somewhat reassuring to see what's been posted on Twitter.

Alternatively, you can be like me, who just wants the thing regardless. I don't think about whether I'll be happy with it too much, and usually I've been satisfied. I'll be getting the Hi-Riridine recolor, so I'll try to report in on that. I did the same thing when I got Zwei.
>>
>>5759029
>What are your opinions on the production quality at this point? Do you think it's been fixed, or do we still need to wait for reviews before purchasing? Someone already expressed concerns over whether the shoulder joints could hold up the cat paws.

Im kind of used to it, t b h. I have figures from multiple different brands and they all have innate issues with them, mostly things like loose joints/pieces. There are fixes, even something as simple as adding blutak to the joint hole that work. It's just another facet of toys. i understand that things vary from toy to toy, plastics don't always mould the same, thats just life.

I'll post my cats as soon as I get them, i can even do a quick youtube video of me fucking around with them if people need it.

I made a bell like that for one of my shinkis. Just take a ball joint ball from any throwaway plamo kit, leave the stalk on, drill two holes in it at right angles to eachother, then saw the holes together in a cross-shape. Finish with Rub-n-buff, and you're golden.
>>
>>5760602
Go to any craft store, buy a tiny catbell/jingle bell, (or grab one off a cat collar from a dollar store) and some nylon fishing line/transparent thread.
Make a little necklace loop that will fit under the "collar" but still hang down on front, where it'll hide the thread. Adjust the length of the string so that the bell hangs where you want it to. Voila.

>>
>>5763259
Loose/too tight parts may be common but this is fixable. Hairpieces tend to be loose and are held in by magnets. People are unhappy with OE for broken promo promises on several MoMos, namely the Hi-Riridine/Chocolatte and Eins/Zwei MoMo pairs. Snapping knees can be an issue but if you feel such a thing may be a risk hot water is the solution.

OE as a company is not very responsive, however the designer of the MoMos, Shimamoto, is usually very responsive on his Twitter page.

The most recent releases seem to be a general effort towards fixing the aforementioned issues. If you buy some, it's your gamble.

Expect long wait times for any up-and-coming MoMos you like. Although recent releases have been fast, be aware of this anyway!

They are way too expensive for what they are.

>>5759576
I'm not sure this answers my question. Is Japan paying more, or is it just their online shops that have them priced this high and they have shops that aren't online that have them for a lower price?
I'm wondering if even a discounted price on Mandarake will be higher than the price of a new one from Ekia.

Left one is an unreleased Orca-type prototype.

There actually is a nervy easy way to tell the difference between MoMo production types and prototypes. On the inner legs, there are circular indentations near the joints. On the prototypes these are filled in by screws, on production types this is not the case.

You can pry the covers off and replace some of the ferrometal plates with actual flat 8mm x 1mm magnets, and the whole thing holds together quite securely. I can shake my Ingenue upside down and her hat won't fall off. I also stuck some stronger magnets in her tie, and it works great.

It's mainly loose bits but you also occasionally get exploding knees. If you have a leg which won't bend, cautiously use warm water. Sometimes leg zippers are also loose.

Most plastics have HDT over 100F, it'd have to be hot water at least to make a real difference. ABS has a HDT of around 90C, anything less and you're just mechanically stressing the plastic.

Hum, maybe that anon who'd wanted a Torte and Macaron could get somebody to grab a couple for him, there's bound to be people who offer services like that.

Seeing this makes me wish there were more currently-released MoMos. It's too bad about how modular they are but how little this is usually used
I remember a dude recasting those little MoMo paperweights!

This thread's in autosage now. Just curious, but should a new OE thread be made (much later, when the time is right obviously), or should it be left alone?

Yeah I was thinking the same, maybe if they have been made as model kit like the Frame Arm Girls
That would have been something interesting to see

I think they should push their modular nature and sell more special parts or conversion kits like this.

Just recieved Juggler Daisy from the HLJ sale a while ago. Hoping I hate it so I dont have to sink money into another line. The squid and octopus are must haves though even if this sucks.
