I see what you did there.

And no one knows, if ever. Only way to get one is probably to start some sort of online rabble rousing to get the companies attention and show them theres a market for more Legacy's.

I'd love a Legacy of all the missing QB figures, especially the book pack in ones, as well as shit like the Elric brothers from FMA, the box set Raoh from FotNS, and more.

Does mandarake no longer let you put things from different stores into the same order? I want to pick up three or four cheaper revols, but I'm not seeing a way to do it.

I promised myself I'd get SAS Robin, Revoltech Kinnikuman, and Figuarts Terryman. I figure it'll give me three actually different figures with different body types, instead of the same frame but different faces, if I'd gone all from one line.

Sadly, Figuarts hasn't held up their end of the deal yet.

I really like him! He definitely has that revoltech dynamism, looks alive and powerful in every pose. And he can get into just about any wrestlin' pose you want.

My only complaint would be that because of how his arms are built, doing the classic strongman pose looks weird, because the inside of his arms/armpits are scooped out. But 70% of the time I just have him suplexing various other figures, and he looks great doing that.
>>
>>5669189
Sounds fun, might pick him up some time just to fuck with. Or the mini.

May 15, 2006...three action figures were released as a the prelude of an ambitious collector-aimed series.

HAPPY 10TH ANNIVERSARY REVOLTECH

...are they gonna do anything?

When did you get your first Revoltech?

I got all 3 of these when they came out since I happen to be in Japan at the time.
>>
>>5671161
My first Revoltechs were VF-1S, Getter 1, Black Getter, Shin Getter all bought together.
>>
>>5671161
They were better than MS in Action at 1900 yen with full accessories and visually unobtrusive joints, therefore looking like a statue while being articulated.
>>
>>5671161

The ZOE revo's, which I got a few months back were my first. Loved the series.
>>
>>5671161
White Raiden roughly after his release.
>>
>>5670586
Michael's has some small accessories and food items that would work, but I've never found any furniture there.
>>
>>5671161
My first was Vash, got him in early 2011. My first figure, actually. (assuming toys you got as a kid don't count)

Also, please please fucking re-release Dante with modern articulation and size.
>>
>>5671717

Capcom just released a NEW DMC...Pachinko machine.

Chances are Dante ain't showing up.
>>
>Legacy of revoltech

Is there a reason why the old macross npt in this?
>>
>>5672534

Same reason why a bunch of the QB stuff isn't despite needing it pretty badly.

Because Japan remakes shit whenever it wants, or never.
>>
>>5670729
>dat Raiden in the back

>>5671161
OG Raiden a year or so after release, then the Eva Series re-release with wing and weapons. Those are my only ones so far, I need to fix that.

The newest Iron Man is really tempting, I'd even say it looks better than the SHF (not the same armor I knoe) too bad about the higher price, being poorfag blows.
>>
>>5673085
>dat Raiden in the back

I try to make my dumb pics fun. Dunno if I succeed very often, but it's the intent.
>>
Also, if it might help anyone, the Vulcanlog Sneaking Suit Venom Snake (ie: the regular size one, not a mini) has been dropping in price on Amazon. It's currently around $56. Decided to pick one up, since thats the lowest I've seen it for and it's probably the best Big Boss figure I'll find.

nb4 >Big Boss

Yeah yeah, it's still him if you pretend it was before PP.

My revoltech Woody has a shoulder joint that just won't budge no matter what I try, what should I do?
>>
>>5674351

>>
>>5674399
Could that mess up the rest of the figure?
>>

>>
Sup, i posted on the last threas about Boba Fett... How does that "base" of his works? Anybody got pics? Thanks!
>>
>>5674430
How thick is the joint exactly? I don't have Woody but I softened joints in warm water for a little bit so it's pliable enough to allow movement and not feel so stiff. Nothing bad happened to the joint afterward. Just don't exert too much force trying to move it or you'll just mess it up.
>>
>>5674441
It's not very thick and I can't even separate it from the figure, I really don't want to do something that might risk damaging everything.

Hot air from hair dryer, or hot water (50℃) will soften the PVC around the joint so should loosen enough to get the joint rotating.

Maybe the companies that the character originates from can dictate who gets what? I'm brothered vastly by the fact Raiden was such a great articulated figure and Gray Fox would've made a solid follow-up for the scale given but we got a mini.
>>
>>5675326
>tiny as fuck head on thick ass neck

Wow, that looks bad. MGS5 Snake on PW body isn't that bad, but damn.
>>
>>5675282
They just can't take risks when the price per figure is getting higher and higher.

Although what they think might sell is, well, unique (Buddha, horse, JSDF prototype fighter, research submarine, giant soft vinyl statues...) but I guess they are targeting a different group than other companies.

MGS stuff, I still think video game characters are not well known to enough people to get sub-characters made. MH is the big exception since the game is super popular in Japan.

Union Creative is more focused on current IPs so they did movie versions. And I believe Legacy was a limited time thing before they used up the factory line for VulcanLog.

It used to be ''make everyone for popular series'' for big companies like Bandai with Souchaku Henshin and MSIA, but now especially for smaller companies they need to cherry pick main characters that will sell. Fuck how many figma Sabers were there before Archer? SHF Kamen Riders still have a good completion percentage over the years. SAS JoJo stuff is like the exception.
>>
>>5675326
Thanks, guess I won't be doing that, looks a lot worse than I thought it would. Otherwise, is PW Snake a good figure? Might still pick him up if so.
>>
>>5675594

He's pretty good if you like his face sculpt. It's not for everyone, because it's based off the art. His articulation is pretty much what you expect from revo stuff.
>>
>>5675609
The face isn't a huge issue, I'd probably try and touch it up myself anyway. My biggest issue is those shoulders, it's just very distracting. Has anyone tried replacing then with smaller or double-ended ones?
>>
>>5675397

You're also thinking of Kaiyodo in particular. They've always been adventurous with their picks of IP... even before they started Revoltech. I think Takeya revoltechs and those US movie replica ones are meant to appeal to different collectors. It works, I quit revoltech because I wanted to focus back on completing my Takeya SIC collection, then when the announced the Takeya revoltechs... I was like fuck me, I guess I'm back on revoltechs.

I enjoy it but honestly am pissed that Solid Snake and Gray Fox are a fucking mini, after seeing just how well done Raiden is.

I know, right? Usually other EX figures get a big color swap, like white Raiden variant like the armor option from the games, all the 2P Queens Blade colors, etc.

Theres tons of Palico color options in the latest MH games, they could've done a full fur repaint at least for brown/black/striped/etc whatever. And with Japan's love of cats, surprised they didn't.

$35-40 for her sounds about right to me as long as it's the Legacy.
>>
>>5677909

Can't hurt to try asking, no. I don't know how to contact them though, or if they can even read english to answer properly.
>>
>>5677910
The Legacy is the one with the smaller box, right?
>>
>>5677920

Smaller yellow box and better new-style joints. Which is important. Because the whole point of Legacy's were to give the newer, good joints to figures with the older, shittier ones. Revo joints had a huge shift in quality at some point, going from pure ass to amazingly solid, so the Legacy lines purpose was to re-release some older figures with their newer joints.
>>
>>5677924
Bummer. It wasn't the Legacy.
>>
>>5677929

I'd avoid it then, I have a few pre-new joints figures and I can definitely see why people used to say revo's were shit. Go for Legacy until you feel comfortable with possibly getting a figure with bum joints.
>>
>>5677963

For the QB line I meant. Since a lot of lines came after the joint change, but QB came during the joint change, so some of the QB revo's have solid joints, and some have the shit older ones.

I know for example, Sigui and Alice Boost have the new joints because they were made after the joint change, but non-Legacy Alleyene would have the old, bad joints.
>>
>>5677963
I remember only handling the Overking revo and being completely puzzled by the joints.
>>
>>5677979

Revo's are simple. You turn the joint, then you turn the limb. Or you just yank the limb off, then turn the joint, then stick it back on. Theres some you can't just tear apart, but those are the exception and not the rule normally.
>>
>>5677721
? No. In fact they have white people envy so likes their stuff too.
>>
>>5677929
Alleyene had some re-issues before Legacy so might have better joints. I think 2P has better joints for sure.
>>
>>5677963
>see why people used to say revo's were shit.
The crappy 6mm joints were used for some period, but not that long, just some revo that came out during that time that were heavy with them really suffered. Like QB and transforming VF-1.

People had other reasons for calling them shit (not properties they want, paint, sculpt, ratchets, and Yamaguchi)
>>
>>5678280
>ratchet joints
>shit

Are people just retarded or something? Ratchet joints are probably the best thing you can have in any toy.
>>
anybody got a video or user made photos of the melynx? im kind of pleased with the felyne and i think he could do with a friend!

i ..just came to a troubling point where ive ran out of room on my figure display and its really good display that i find really tied the room together, not one of one those glass case ones its opposite my bed ontop of a wooden stylish radiator cover.
>>
>>5678286
Kind of. The point was they can't get the pose they want because of the fixed angles of the ratchets.

Which you can do finer adjustments by rotating the pegs, that's why the joints are spherical...

Not as retarded as saying they pose too dynamically and it's shit because they don't in source material.
>>
>>5678286
The general argument I see is related to the fact people don't like how Revoltech's have a weird thing for dynamic only posing and have hips thrusting out in some more vanilla poses. Next to stuff like Revos having pieces falling off easily. The last bad posing thread discussion seems to draw the ire for Revoltechs out of people.
>>
>>5678269
I'm not sure if I should ask the seller or not.
It's the 1P version, which I like more, but there's the issue with the joints.

Venom isn't BB in 5 though, different person. He is BB in GZ though

Also I don't care about the message. It's not the first time Kojima's done this, see: Raiden.

Still a different person, the whole ending was a rush job because Konami was fed up with how long the game was taking to come out and how much money Kojima was spending. But it doesn't matter anyway because as of GZ thats what BB's face now looks like.

Blue Eyes varies in size throughout the manga, but he's usually seen as large enough to hover around Kaibas shoulders. I think pic related is the smallest he's ever been shown. I think revo is going for a jojo stand like interpretation of him to match Yugi and DM.
>>
>>5681762
I guess so they fit together as a manageable display with each other and not taking up too much room. Bit stupid Blue Eyes has to be smaller because of that.
>>
>>5681735

Why the hell did they not articulate his jacket?

But Blue Eyes is going to be tiny next to Dark Magician.

Maybe, or maybe DM looks tall next to Yugi since Yugi is supposed to be pretty short. Kaiba is much taller compared to Yugi and probably makes BEWD look small in comparison.
>>
>>5683001
Doesn't change the fact. And based on the given heights DM is taller than Kaiba though that includes his hat.

Hey guys, I got an Iron Man from Revolmini but one of his arms keeps popping out whenever I try to pose as if the peg hole is not big enough for the peg.

Any tips on what can I do? Can I reach Revoltechs support?
>>
>>5687346

I *think* you could try heating up the joint by immersing the joint in hot water from your sink, or boiling water for a few seconds. Or a hair dryer.

Or you can try using a tweezer or similar to just work around in the hole to widen it a tiiiny bit.
>>
>>5687355
I can back up. I softened the arm/peghole but also the joint in hot water for a minute. After that I put them together while they were still soft and squeezed a bit so they can refit themselves without the peghole being too big but just enough to fit the joint for a proper fit. After that I put the figure in cold water and left it there for about 5 or so minutes. Now I can rotate and position the arm without it popping out the shoulder joint.

Kaiyodo in general doesn't really try marketing towards the same demographics as their competitors, because collector-focused articulated figures have always been more of a side business for them. The bulk of their business, even before Revoltech, came from capsule figures and products aimed at older audiences (miniature animal and plant replicas, etc.). That's the main reason we've gotten things like the Danboards, Rilakkuma and other mascots, and the Takeya line - rather than the usual "try to predict what will be popular and milk it before nerds move on to the next thing" strategy employed in this field, Kaiyodo instead tries to woo people who don't normally buy posable figures in the hopes of creating new buyers.

it's not even the face for me, that image is blown up like 3 times the size of the figure in real life.

What kills me is how the only revoltech joints in the thing are his fucking ankles. Swivelshit for everything else.
>>
>>5694323
Can't be helped since Dante was not a Revoltech originally. The first officially made Revos were the Evas and Assemble Borgs.
>>
>>5694392

Maybe they'll redo the figure in all revo joints or something.

Or not.

Still, crossing fingers for the rest of the QB line and some of the more expensive stuff to get re-released.

So I just got Stitch and he's barely a Revo (only one joint) but I love him. This is what modern Revo should be. I really don't mind the small 3 mm Revo joint, I think they're lovely to hold pose. However the bigger Revo joints are problematic and needs to go, or at least redesigned to allow more rachet angles. I always liked Revo selection and licenses more than Figuarts or Figma. I hope they hold their Disney licenses and continue making things like this, plus maybe more vidya stuff to make niche of themselves since Figma already had animu on lockdown and Figuarts had capeshit, star wars, and dragon ball.

Literally who character get a decent figure made. At least he can be part of the UMvC collection that I have.

Dante is literally no 3 most popular character Capcom had in Famitsu's all time favorite, behind the MH felines and Megaman.
>>
>>5694715

Yeah, dunno why they bothered to make an Arthur figure.
>>
>>5694575
>or at least redesigned to allow more rachet angles.
Um...what other Revos do you have? They did just do that during Legacy run, I don't think it is physically possible to have more ratchets.
>>
>>5694930
I have MH Rathalos hunter, Yotsuba, PW Snake, Raiden, Venom Snake, Vector Cannon Jehuty, Anubis, Ultron and Stich. The smaller joints are fine, but things like Raiden's ab crunch are major pain in the ass. Used to have the non legacy Mk7 but I sold it.

I don't have any of the Legacy yet, are they that much better?
>>
>>5694715

You're the type that just likes bands to play their radio singles at concerts eh
>>
>>5695148

The ab crunches on Raiden/Snake are more hindered by the actual shape of the body than by the ratchets. But thats true of any ab crunch, you're not just gonna bend things like a knee or elbow joint.
>>
>>5695168

Nah, I've played G&G and SG&G, and Demons Crest to boot. I'd rather have had a popular Capcom character (or another Female Hunter, maybe Narga/Lagia/Barioth armor) over Arthur.

Its not aboutbhow far it would go. Its about the ratchet angles and fine tuningof the ab angle. I dont think its a big deal, all Im saying is that it'll benefit the figure if it had micro adjustment option. I skipped on MH Rathalos and Zinogre monster after seeing that they both have big rachet joints

The Zinogres are pretty good. The Rath is...Not bad per se, but theres just not much you can do with him. The wings can go up and down, you've got the tail segments, the head and legs...I mean, he's well jointed, but you still can't get around that bigass wings mean he can't hold anything or do the sorts of poses guys with arms can.
>>
>>5695298
Yeah, but the issue is kind of specific to the bigger joints now. The 3mm joints are excellent and in general I am in favor of Revo rachets. I love that Revo guys don't shift and lean on display. For example, NECA xenos would greatly benefit from Revo trademark joints. These guys have twig arms and legs, but burly body, head and tails and because of that they barely hold their pose. Some of them are too loose and have floppy joints, while the one that has tight joints kind of break a lot.
>>
>>5695309

I honestly prefer ratchet joints for everything. They're much more solid overall.
>>
So im new to Revoltech. Can anyone explain to me the main price difference/quality between Figma and Revoltech?

I've got a revo Schwarzesmarken TSF and I really like it, other than it being really fiddly to get parts to fit onto it, it looks great. Are they smaller than Figma or something? They seem to come with more accessories than Figma at the very least, but I ive not had an actual human Revol so im not sure what to think.
>>
>>5695869
Depends who you pick up honestly. Venom Snake and Revo Ultron are newest ones from Vulcanlog which is still Revoltech and they are far bulkier than most of my figmas. Especially if you compare Venom to Figma Solid Snake.

>>5693487
Anon here gives an idea of what Revoltech is but price is something someone else can answer.
>>
>>5695869

Revo's are around 6" tall depending on figure. Honestly the only real difference is the joints and the sculpts. Revo's usually use...Revoltech joints! Which people may or may not hate, they're just ratchet joints, which are used in a lot of figure lines (Transformers notably use them often).

And figmas use whatever, usually ball joints.

Prices vary a lot, but have gone up recently because plastic/labor costs have gone up.

tl;dr If you like it, buy it. Sticking to any one brand is dumb.
>>
>>5695869
Revoltech name comes from the trademark rachet joint - Revoltech. Some people hate it, but most people here love it. It is a bit weird at first, but when you pose it right unlike other joint Revo joints are bombproof - they won't lean, lose pose, or slide out. Barring a clear design flaw (like using joint that is too small), Revo joint just doesn't get loose period.

Both Revo and Figma cater to anime/pop culture fans. Revo line selection is more of a "bro" anime, and focuses a lot on mechas like ZOE, Eva, Getter Robo, Gurren Lagann etc or anime like Sengoku Basara while Figma is more focused on waifus.

Barring that GSC or whatever can push out plastic waifu's till the end of time. Now I'm curious how well they take advantage of the new printing tech for realistic faces on the next go around and also how posable the 2.0 blank bodies are.

Though Revoltech can focus on other licenses that are usually not considered at this scale.

Not that I know of, just that she never got a solo release, just that expensive as fuck LE box set, so finding her is a real bitch.
>>

I doubt it. Guessing from Kaiyodo's style, it will be some old Revos as 10th anniversary version like Danboard, EVA-01, etc. Then some special projects like the Underwater Knee Socks, maybe Senmu himself. Also might see the rumored Revoltech Base Body if that paper was real.

If it was something brand new and going back to basics, I want some new Yamaguchi robots Revoltech, fuck Sentinel it can be done cheaper than those.
>>
>>5696502
No issues, she was out way after the joint problem was fixed.
>>
>>5696699
>rumored Revoltech Base Body

Wuzzat, one of those blank bodies ala figma?

Always seem like such a waste to me.
>>
>>5696703
Some use it as artist reference but there's other appeals like having a blank body for random posing and setups rather than character specific poses or restrictions in the sculpt. If Revoltech can do one I have a lot of anticipation since Raiden is one of the most posable figures in my collection.
>>
>>5696790

Yeah, I know about it's use as an artists tool, but those have been around for a long, long time, by many companies. It feels like such a waste of time and resources for a professional animu and mango figure company to make a "blank" figure like that.
>>
>>5696794
I see your point but if they're getting those out, especially like Figma 2.0 blank bodies then there seems to be a demand. Plus it's seems simple enough that they don't see it as a waste.
>>
>>5696703
I think those have high potential of sale to non-collectors, the normal folks.

Art references could sell with all the aspiring illustrators, manga artists and animators in Japan, and a blank fun posing figure have a low line of entry for someone to just pick it up compare to all the licenced stuff.

Also, Kaiyodo have actual sales data on this. When a manga artist was featured on TV (forgot who it was), he was shown using an AB guy as posing reference, and a lot of people hunt down what that figure was, and the stock of Last Run AB sold out in an instant. I thought they would make more AB in future but I think they might actually go for the base body blank.
>>
>>5696794
>those have been around for a long, long time
They suck though. Good ones are basically those 1/6 figures and are a bit over priced, and not that poseable.

Bought Figure Oh for the Saint Seiya article but there were some actual Revo news in it.

The Fraulein 2.0 project was still alive, called Fraulein Zwei of course.

Says the format of the product and means of sale will be different from before. Maybe they will do that train or CA uniform series or something, only sell them at stations and air ports...

Also says they are working more on Revoltech Senmu so maybe he will be part of 10th anniversary.

AND they are going to take votes on your favorite past Revos. Don't know if that will lead to anything like rereleases though.
>>
>>5699730
Uggh... the wrist joint on Ironman still makes me triggered. Is there a way to custom yourself out of it, maybe drill the peg deeper and dremel out a cavity for the ball joint?

He's 6.75" - the tallest IM import coming this year and will be in great scale with ML figures - unlike the figuarts one. Mafex had too much QC issues and IM needs some revo joints to hold the flight poses and such. This guy is so close to being the perfect IM
>>
>>5699730
>AND they are going to take votes on your favorite past Revos. Don't know if that will lead to anything like rereleases though.

Ok, so how hard can we spam the shit out of the voting mechanism to possibly get a Melona re-release?
>>
>>5699737
Maybe ask the anon's in the customs general? They would probably provide the tool advice when approaching that. Though wouldn't you need a longer wrist peg if you want to hide the breakage in the gap and retain the look and movement?

The only thing I'm annoyed by Mark 45 Iron Man figures at this scale is the weird handguards that give him a gloved look in certain angles.

>>
>>5699786

I want a Revo Deadpool but that can't be it
>>
>>5699802
I thought of that too, you never know, Yamaguchi does like him, since he is red and uses guns and swords.

The fact that it says Hero ヒーロー makes me think comicbook related. Not sure what else is there that is not Bandai territory. I doubt anyone else watches Concrete Revolutio so that dream is dead.
>>
>>5699802
Honesty I can see that and for the dynamic nature of Revoltech, it works.

>>5699786
I don't follow cape movies all that much but you got options with Civil War (barring Iron Man) and BatmanvSuperman. Not unless they go into the superhero manga like My Hero Academia for an All Might Revoltech.

>>
>>5699834
Well it says NEW hero so most of the recent movies are kind of out except for Black Panther and Wonder Woman, and that manga is Bandai territory. Deadpool is way more likely compare to those.

to be honest, I feel Saitama fits Figma more than revoltech. Same with that Sakamoto figure, being able to stand up straight with the arms at the side like a normal human being instead of "hips thrust forward ready to fuck some shit up" is essential for those characters. They don't play to Revoltech's strong suit, basically.
