Where to buy
>GSC Online Shop - some figmas only are available through their online shop
>Amiami - usual place for buying, to some people, shipping is a bit higher due to packaging
>Hobby Link Japan shipping is usual lower, but their prices are a bit higher, private warehaouse is available
>Hobby Search Japan - items stay in stock the longest
>Mandarake - search figma or フィグマ
>eBay/Amazon - only if you hate having too much money. Avoid bootlegs, you can spot them as 'Chinese version'
>http://jungle-scs.co.jp/ - Seems like you can fine some good deals here
>Check the BST threads, My Figure Collection for any offer/deal

Short illustrated posing guide by Max Factory

The S shape is always good advice though. The basic idea is that straight lines tend to look stiff.
Do you have problems swapping part in your figures? check this little advice

Got a Body-chan on her way, so depending on how it turned out I'll consider getting a figma:she archetype, especially with its price-tag.
Is the hoodie variant of Sonico any good? It's going for pretty cheap everywhere, but I'm sorta willing to drop the cash for the bikini ver.
>>5639653
>Where are these pics coming from?
>>5639734
thanks, brodinski
If you wanted the silent hill 2 nurse its on sale at amiami for 25 dollars or so... I got one the other day
>>5639947
What's that thing in the red suit?
>>5639951
Not him but its one of the dead/zombie astronaut figures from 3A I believe. Its either 3A or Threezero
Is it normal for most figmas to not be able to handle LA weapons by their shoulder? Doesn't work on Amy either but then again it's Amy
>>5639951
3A Strigoi from their Evenfall Line.
>>5639960
Smaller torsos of females and tits prevent it.
>>5639960
Yes, most of them don't have the butterfly joints that allow it. Figures like Saber 2.0 and Motoko Arise ver. have those joints if you want to know more.
>>5639968
How exactly does a butterfly joint work? Google isn't cooperating
>>5640017
I assume he means shoulder articulation. it's basically a double balljoint, one in the torso and one in the shoulder
>>5640017
If you own or have seen the Miku 2.0 figma she has butterfly joints. They give the arms more space to move around and pose more by being able to move in two places, the shoulder and torso.
>>5639968
>>5640017
>>5640037
It's not a butterfly joint, a butterfly joint rotates in and out, kinda like a butterfly flaps it's wings, hence the name. Pic related.
The figma's with extended shoulder articulation have telescoping joints or pull-out joints, instead of just a ball and a socket connecting the shoulder to the body it's a peg with a ball on the end that extends straight out of the socjet when needed.
>>5640091
Yeah. The ones on Figmas are called drawer joints. They move outward from the torso and allow the figma to have a larger range of motion in their arms. This way they hold accessories better such as the LA kits which they can push to their shoulders and other items they can hold. The upcoming figma of Miyo is the one that will benefit greatly from these joints as shes the one meant to hold her LA kit.
Guys, should I add figma Leonidas to my May batch order, or should I wait/delay for a possible price drop? How is the demand for figma Leonidas? I'm afraid of losing AmiAmi's current discount if they decided to jack up the price.
>>5640207
just buy it
>>5639960
they're accurately scaled weapons and most figma tend to be of small asian women who would have trouble holding a full-size rifle
>>5640844
>>5639960
for example, the SCAR-H with that suppressor is about 100 cm in length and Mikasa is only 170 cm tall. Amy is 156 cm tall, so it should be even bigger in her hands.
>>5640871
Reminder that Figma is a non-scale line and just happens to be in the 1/12-ish ballpark.
>>5640884
it wasn't a definitive answer to the question, just a common one
>>5640091
This makes me want a kinnikuman figure
What do you guys even do with Archetypes?
>>5641822
Use them for headswaps, dress them up, or even just turn them into artist's posing manikins.
Has there been any word on when Fuchiko is set to be released?
>>5641842
dudue, she needs tohold that smal gashapon that comes with the onacup book
>>5641822
I'd probably use 'em for poses 'n junk.
I might just go for one of 'em. Such pure posability would be interesting.
>>5641822
Put other figure heads on them so they look naked
I'm not knowledgeable about the Figma creation process, so how long does it usually take for fig to get painted?
>>5641890
It's very inconsistent. Some figures get a prototype and shown off within the same year / 2 years while others take years to even see painted, much less a prototype. Even when a painted figure is shown off, it can still take an unknown amount of time before it gets officially solicited (Bruce Lee for example).
>>5641890
It varies. Sometimes only a few weeks, sometimes several years. Its a complete and total crap shoot.
>see the figuarts bodies go up for preorder
>don't care
>realize I missed something good that could've been used for pose reference
>figma bodies go up
>cheap as fuck
>they're look a little worse but I don't want to miss shit again
>tfw don't know if I should go with grey or pale look
>probably been hotglued
>that shitty cape
>10k
I hate latecomers tax so much.
>>5641822
I'm getting them just to use as naked bodies for my other figures with head-swapping. But for that purpose I'm concerned about the huge gap they have in the back.
>>5639947
Love the pic!
>>5642278
>hotglued
>>5642438
Well.... He's not wrong?
>>5642438
>implying you wouldn't a Guts
>>5642746
Donovan Figma when?
>>5641218
Only problem with Kinnikuman figures is their feet. No toe joint, what the fuck!?
are there any other figures similar to the figma archtype figures? I found one from figuarts but it's out of stock.
they look a lot better than those stupid wooden mannequins
>>5641822
Nudist Beach ver.
>>5643679
are you talking about body-kun/chan the blank figuarts bodies? bbts still has them for preorder
>>5641842
That leg spread skirt is gonna be lewd. Might have to get one now.
>>5642402
Thanks! Something about that pose... your pic convinced me that I should have bought the kill la kill figmas while they were cheap...
>>5642827
I'll be glad when all future figmas have toe adjustments.
I hope at some point they will make non goku uniform satsuki and ryuko
>>5644467
They won't
>>5644467
>I hope at some point they will make non goku uniform satsuki and ryuko
They already did, they wear Kamuis, not goku uniforms.
>>5644467
Unless the series continues, they won't bother making anymore Kill la Kill figs.
>>5644467
>I hope kancolle stops being popular
lol, fuck off /v/
I wonder if GSC will bother making more figmas for trigger after what a flop klk was for them
u knoe
>>5644924
This could be cool if they used clear/translucent plastic like Crystal Bowie but they'd probably fuck it up somehow.
Guy patiently awaiting to buy the complete God Hand set of figma here. Going by this post
>>5639381
am I to assume that they won't be releasing any of them for pre-order this year?
>>5644924
You'd pretty much get this if they made Dural from VF.
>>5641822
Demon´s Souls Maiden in Black custom
>>5641822
Put cute clothes and different heads in them.
can't decide between the grey or flesh colored archetype figs, gonna be my first figma as well
>>5645294
Why of all things would you get one of those as your first figma?
Grey looks cool but if you want something closer to a human then flesh is better IMO.
>>5645294
If you plan on head swapping, flesh is probably the way to go, but if you want to use the body for a custom with sculpted details or a skin tight bodysuit, grey might be a better choice.
>>5641822
>>5645240
See... This man knoes what's up, the potencial of the archetypes
>>5645294
I'm going for the flesh color version myself, for bodyswapping shenanigans, same as Famikus-kun on >>5645304
>https://hiyotama0918.amebaownd.com/posts/764450
>>5645302
>Why of all things would you get one of those as your first figma?
looks cool, been wanting to get a mannequin type figure to use as reference
>>5645135
I like how that sounds. Do post pics here (fuck the custom general) when you get to it.
>>5645341
Oh, still seems weird that you would get one of those as a first Figma and not one of your favourite character.
>>5645353
well judging by his use for it, it may be his first and only figma unless he happens to end up liking them for collection purposes.
>>5645326
That's a sweet paintjob on the LA kit. Got any other pics of it?
>>5645399
Sorry, that's not my pic, but check the link in that post
I dig the idea of personalized paintjobs in the LA guns according to the owner
How's the latest Mio figma?
This fucking gokihoihoi guy is starting to convince me.
Just grabbed a gon freecs off of mandarake for 9000 yen. I wish I didn't miss the initial release of it. Sigh.

Still better than what I could do on this point with my shitty skills
Someone noticed that in the Little Armory site they have a section for the enemies of the LA Girls?

I dig some of the characters
Figmas, I hope soon
>>5645554
pastels, white and yellow are the shittiest colours
they take of layers to stick
>>5645615
please for the love of god
i'll pay the 9,500 yen they'll ask for this.
>>5645554
While you definitely need to THIN YOUR PAINTS, it's actually pretty realistic.
Metal panels and pieces like that that is used often is are going to have a lot of wear on them if they're painted, because metal in general hates everything and will reject anything touching it, which is why metal works so well at deflecting bullets if thick enough.
And seriously, thin your fucking paints. Anyone can get a professional looking smooth paint job if they know to thin their paints.
>>5645615
Love how the gun's bonkers .
>>5646037
they are the anti-hero we need from /k/ autism
>>5645615
Meh..... pretty tame. Not extreme enough.
>>5646022
it's not mine bruh, but I know what you mean. not enough weathering gets that property of metal right.
Guys, thanks for convince me to buy Motoko figure. Actually i did regret a little, but after i did play with her all my regrets is gone. I do like her a lot. Thanks, its a excellent figure.
Revolmini Snake's pistol fits like original.
>>5646343
Good choice, I bought one too. Her tactical suit looks amazing.
>>5646351
Yeah, it reminds me of this picture.

What should I do with two Satsuki's? I fucked up and bought a duplicate on Amazon.
>>5646589

>>5639387
Anastasia when
>>5646589
Spare parts or use the swords for something. Otherwise sell
>>5646589
damage it and say you want a refund
>>5646589
Step 1. Wait a year or X amount of time
Step 2. Sell it to a fan that missed out on Satsuki for an outrageous price
Step 3. Laugh while you wipe your dirty asshole with all of extra dollarydoos that you made.
You knoe
In all honesty I would have preferred a Figma over revoltech. I was pretty disappointed in it. A Figma yoko is never gonna happen but a manchild can dream
>>5646595
>make them selfcest
This anon.
Just open one carefully so you can resell her in a few months for double the price when she inevitably skyrockets like Ryuko did.
>>5646805
Meh, I'm just glad we at least got the revo. It's more than we got for Kamina or Simon
>>5646887
will they ever make those guys? I need a fucking Kamina figure.
>>5646805
There was also the mms too, but yeah, shoulda had a figma
are there any other tricks to spotting a bootleg?
Figma newfag here, when do you guys guess Saitama will drop?
Usually how long do these guys take releasing toys?
>>5647051
Hopefully next year
I was wondering why is figma doing figures of all these sculptures of famous figures and art like the thinker? if I was to do something like that I would perhaps go more into the realm of creature sculptures like the gargoyles in Notre damne or the Chinese lion statues. Who do the statue figures appeal to? genuinely interested to the reason why they do them.
>>5646343
My came in the mail today, spent two trying to get her in a great operator stance.
>>5647132
>>5647122
Consider that it is not Max Factory but Freeing who is designing them.
I don't know if the Japanese have some kind of sculpture meme going on, but it's similar to the trend of wacky characters like Billy and Egashira 2:50.
>>5647132
>great
keep trying
>>5647051
he could be announced for preorder at literally ANY moment at this point. So you have to watch out for that. After he is put up for preorder, it will probably come out about 6-8 months after that.
If I was a betting man, I would say it would come out early 2017.
An Iron Man figma was put up for preorder this month. It won't come out until December of this year. So that gives you an idea that even if Saitama was up for preorder next month, he wouldn't come out this year most likely.
>>5647122
Who doesn't like classic sculptures? Let me guess, you're either underage, ~35 years old, South American, or Eastern European.
Something about Gen X-ers makes them love edgy metal type shit. And kids just like that because that's what kids like. Then 3rd worlders and slavs (aka uncultured people) like stuff like that as well.
Thinking of preordering these and was wondering which Fima school would pose with them the best? I like the look of Eli Ayase but I’m open to suggestions.

*schoolgirl
>>5646805
Fuck you, Yoko has had several figures. Many of them shit, but at least she did have some.
Kamina and Simon both just got shitty statues or whatever.
I'm okay with a Figma Yoko, but Kamina and Simon first. Also Kittan and Viral.
[spoilersdonotworkhere]Not really fuck you, but it's been frustrating seeing Yoko get lots of merchandise (albeit shitty for the most part) and the two main guys don't get anything because they're not fanservice.[/spoilersdonotworkyoufaggot]
>>5646898
M-me too, anon.
I keep on hoping. My next hope is Gurren Lagann's 10th anniversary, but I guess it's never happening. RioBot Lazengann got scrapped too, it seems.
Feels bad.
Does Hulk or Sherlock have a release date already?
I'm in Japan and might try to grab it
>>5647257
Hulk is the 19th I think.
>>5647270
Source?
>>5647304
Wait, I lied.
I could've sworn AmiAmi said the 19th, though.
>>5645504

there are cooler /m/ girls out there who need figures
>>5647158
Yeah the Japs do like a few qwirky things like dont they like ...French things? sometimes they use French words to sound cooler I heard.
Is the Panzer IV worth the price?
>>5648211
Nothing is cooler than a hotdamn redhead qtpi sniper.
>>5648279
Except you know, people who are actually competent and useful
>>5648289
We're talking about cartoons and plastic imitations of those cartoon designs. Seriously doubt the usefulness of the character will matter when you put it on your shelf.
Gotta love these spergs.
>here is my most prized possession
>picks up some generic looking anime thing
>bbut it was useful in series 2 of Shonen Battle of the Robot Crocodile when it pressed that button
>anon but it looks lame and it was pricey
>nu uuh, it's a useful character
This is why GSC shits out schoolgirls. Their only redeeming quality is the jailbait factor, as if.
>>5648321
Or maybe he buys figures of characters he likes and he likes characters who are competent and useful.
>jailbait
Nobody actually uses this term to describe anime girls, do they?
>>5648328
Fair.
Dunno, how would you call cartoons portraying sexualized schoolgirls?
>>5648346
>how would you call cartoons portraying sexualized schoolgirls?
Considering the age of consent in Japan is 13, 'jailbait' is an inaccurate description. And you know schoolgirls can be 17-18, right?
>>5648359
I think 17 can still be considered jailbait-ish by western standards.
>>5648392
>western standards
Anime is not made for filthy westerners.
>>5648403
I know, was just thinking out loud. Was aiming for the "why are schoolgirls appealing sexually" angle. Nevermind.
>>5648403
Except the word means cartoons, so... yeah they are
>>5648422
I imagine Ganstas Paradise playing in the background.
>>5648454
If it's not dubbed, it's not meant for westerners :^)
>>5648454
No, the word means ANIMATION
>>5648603
which is what all cartoons are
fuck off /a/, /co/, /tv/
>>5648148
Hell yeah, looks great. Definitely grabbing that.
Is there an official release date for Hulk?
>>5648605
Reminder that telling someone to 'go back to /a/' for talking about anime on 4chan is a bannable offense.
I gotta ask, how are both of the Motoko's? I plan on getting the New Movie one, but her S.A.C version caught my eye as well.
>>5648796
They're both great, definitely worth getting if you like Ghost in the Shell.
They both have the new style wrists but the new Motoko has smaller tits and therefore better articulation for 2-handing her rifle and cross arm poses.
Though it's worth noting that her pistol holster is permanently attached to her thigh and belt so her right leg doesn't have the same range of motion as the left, the S.A.C version doesn't have this issue.
>>5648812
Sweet, guess I'll grab the newest one first and wait a little bit to grab the S.A.C version.
>>5648796
New Movie Motoko is my very first Figma and I think she's great.
>>5647250
Who hurt you?
>>5647250
We in the vast majority wanna pose big titty waivus, not gay shirtless men
>>5649249
Not everyone is a degenerate waifufag, Anon
Went to Mandarake Grand Chaos today(yesterday). Picked up Satz Batz for 5.5k and Godoka for 5k (her box was fucked up.) today was a good day.
>>5648812
the SAC one has replaceable tits though for better posing
I took a picture with my potatoe.
Currently waiting for Angela Balzac payment request.
Operator-chan and Female Archetype Flesh preordered.
>>5649342
They don't make that much of a difference to be honest. The new version still has much better articulation because of the smaller bust.
>>5640871
If that's close to scale to a ~5'6" or shorter female, that's about the right size for a full size rifle.
It was awkward as fuck for a lot of females I saw while I was in the Army to handle an M16A2 or A4, even without an IBA on.
>>5641822
>What do you guys even do with Archetypes?
I am using them for drawing mannequins. But I could also see someone using them for some custom figures with soft good clothes. Probably a lot easier to do because they are 1/12.
>>5649344
Do you know when Angela Balzac is shipping? I've pre ordered her too
Just got her in the mail, and I have to say that while she wasn't completely worth the $200 price tag, she certainly lives up to the hype. Barring the lack of faces, her accessories are great and she has to have one the absolute best designs and paint jobs GSM has ever done. The sword is a little finicky, but the Gun-Lance is absolutely amazing. Her left wrist joint is a bit loose but since I have her grip most of her stuff in the right.
Overall, 8/10 for the price.
>>5649756
the face she does have looks really nice. I might get her myself.
>>5649812
She comes with two faces, I put the second one on. Personally, major factor in deciding whether to get her was the eyes. This has to be the absolute best eye job I've ever seen on any anime figure.

She has a white speck on her hair. I hope it's not paint. She's one of my favorites too; she's like the center piece of my collection. Good job anon and enjoy her.
>>5649941
its just my love juice
You guys bore me. So I'm dumping some OC. Recently recieved this guy from Mandy because I found his listed at what must've been the incorrect price. I got the special version for less than the reg.
I don't even know what this character is. When I google his name I get links to the figure. I just wanted the suit body for shenanigans and I was tempted to make a phoenix wright custom.
He's awkward look makes him fun to pose in wierd situations.
His lack of torso and toe articulation disappoints me though.
>>5650119
this looks like what Id imagine Ted Cruz thinks is gong to happen if he walks into a Target bathroom.
What I did discover though is giving him snakes gloves kinda turns him into a badass.
>>5650125
Kek holy shit
Salary Hitman finds no joy in his work.
>>5650119
I chuckled.
Overall he's alright. I've spent 40 bux on worse.
Also giving snake ungloved hands makes him look like a drunk.
>>5650166
Yeah, you better watch preorder sites like a hawk. Scalpers know Saitama's gonna be popular, it's what happened with the Nintendroid.
>>5649344
Should work on your posing a bit. It's not bad, but it could be better. Nice set up with the cars though
>>5650194

Do figmas get re-releases often? I want to get some Berserk figures, but I keep seeing people complaining that they aren't great and need a re-release. Is that actually likely? Whats actually wrong with them anyway?
>>5650796
A rerelease doesn't actually fix anything.
>>5650796
>Whats actually wrong with them anyway?
Casca has awful faces, her skin color is wrong and the overall quality is just average for a Figma, it's like she was made by a B-team.
Band of the Hawk Guts has a weirdly long neck, it looks so odd if you don't have the cape collar on him, which brings me to the next issue; the cape. It's a huge block of heavy plastic which makes him really hard to pose without the stand. Again, I'm not a fan of the faceplates, how can you have a young Guts figma without an edgy scowling face? Tch.
Also this might just be an issue with mine, but his joints are pretty loose for a Figma, especially the legs.
Black Swordsman Guts has a really shitty cape, and he could have really used a shouting/angry face rather than the goofy looking gritted teeth face.
Griffith doesn't have any major issues I'm aware of. His faceplates are almost identical, and he's really light on accessories. Didn't even come with a crimson behelit.
Berserker Armor Guts is probably the best one of them all, the only real downside is his price.
I'd pay big money for a Tachikoma/Motoko 2 pack

What are the best sites? HLJ, Amiami and Goodsmile?
>>5650897

Different anon here but I mostly use HLJ since I have changes of heart and cacel orders some times and I like just like it more for some reason. Plus the private warehouse feature is good for me too, helps me save a bit on shipping.
I wish I knew a tailor so I could get 1:12 Miltary Clothing. Fuck, I wish 1:12 military figures in general

So I heard GSC online store wouldn't ship Iron Man Mk43 to the US, is that right? Amiami also won't be carrying Mk43
That means the only option is to wait on Manda/Jungle, deal with scalpers on ebay, or forwarding service?
>>5650934
Same here.
Cancelling on Amiami is pretty scary.
>>5651317
Amiami security is on it's way to your address!

*Please be advised that we cannot ship to hotels or forwarding centers.

I've never owned a figma before but I saw a Snake figma for $16 online and bought it (assuming it was a bootleg).
But now that I've opened it, I'm kinda surprised by the quality (in a good way). I wonder if I lucked out and got the real McCoy. But I don't really have anything to compare it to figma wise.
How much effort are bootlegger putting into packaging? Does anyone here have a legit Snake figure to compare to this?
>>5648392
Many places the age of consent is 16.
>>5651059
Source?
>>5651372
I have it (not home atm for pics), and the fire effect looks way too small, not to mention how odd the paintjob on the hands and knees looks.
>>5651059
There is this kickstarter that got cancelled
http://thefwoosh.com/2016/03/army-alphas-6-army-builder-campaign-is-live-on-kickstarter
They're planning to regroup and redo it sometime soon. IDK why they cancelled it halfway
>>5651382
Hmmm, it might not be legit but it's pretty good for the price. Here's a shot of the box:
Where do I buy extra Figma stands?
>>5651372
For $16 there is no way it's legit.
>>5651372
Obviously fake. Figma faces are always matte, this one has that cheap plastic sheen. The guns also look very gummy and lost a lot of detail. Figma accessories are cast very sharp and detailed. Lastly there's that joint with the huge gap where his elbow is. No figma joint splits so easily.
Still, if he doesn't fall apart out of the box like a Neca, $16's not a bad deal.
>>5650943
that's a big gun
>>5651395
did it even come with instructions or the bag?
>>5651372
Post more pics anon
>>5651379
The Strain
Yui finally came in the mail today. Pretty good, although wish she had more range of motion in the neck though.
Figma needs to do more figures of chicks in bodysuits though, cause the gloss finish metallic paint on the dark parts is sexy as hell.
>>5651395
There's no instructions, just the extra bits came in the bag.
>>5651458
Here is the cardboard "The Orange" box taped on the inside.
>>5651655
I like Yui too, but the range of articulation of her thighs is kinda limited by the hip sculpt. Seconded on the bodysuit, wish they'd do Beatrice and a few others from Schwarzesmarken.
>>5651458
>>5651451
>>5651458
>>5651427
>>5651420
The more I look at him, it's a bootleg for sure, but a decent one. The plastic seems ok, all the joints hold well.
I don't know if you can see it, but the slave labor that they used to package this figure actually took time to roll all the little cigarettes up in their own little plastic bag.
The rifle plastic is firmer than old G.I. Joe weapon plastic for a comparison.
The clear figma base has "© 2015 Konami Digital Entertainmen" (no "t" at the end)
>>5651994
haha your toy "entertains" men
>>5651970
Not too bothered on thigh articulation myself honestly. She could use a bigger butt tho.
And yeah, getting a Beatrix would be fantastic. Kinda doubt it'll happen sadly.
>>5651994
Where'd you get it? For $16 I don't mind one to fuck around with. The original is so pricey I'm afraid to handle mine too much.

>>5652164
Also, what do you guys use to photograph your figs?
Here's my little friend, photographied by my crap phone.
>>5652166
I just use the camera I got as a gift last year. It's a Galaxy NX or I use the camera on my phone at times.
>>5652166
Lumix DMC-FZ28
Not a bad little camera for the money.
>>5652166
>>5652176
>tfw I don't know what camera to buy
I have a budget of $400-$600 dollars but I know nothing about what to get or which lenses would be best to get.
I want to take diorama photos for my figma and some Lego images though.
>>5652183
There should be Lumix DMC-FZ28 reviews around, check youtube to see what functions you'd like in a camera. The Lumix DMC-FZ28 has been around for awhile, so the price is really low, but it fits in that "pro-sumer" category. Not professional, not cheesy consumer grade but somewhere in between.
>>5652197
thanks for the recommendation, I'll look into it.

>>5651970
I didn't think it'd be possible to complain about thick, juicy thighs on a figure, but goddamn you found a way.
Does the Homura figma's gun holding hand work well with the Little Armory weapons?
>>5652166
I'd like to say I use my DSLR with the macro lens but 3/4ths of the time I just use my phone because it's in my pocket and right there when I want to document things, plus I don't have to transfer it to my computer and resize to fit within 4chan filesize limits. I also need to use better image processing software so I don't get all sorts of artifacts when compressing. but that's just laziness too.
>>5652183
My cam cost about 700 Leafs money so i think mines a good choice. It came with a lense that is pretty good and another one that i still didn't used(I think it was a combo by the store tho.)
>>5652533
Pretty much the same, i use my DSLR when i can take my time(taking pics of my figs, pictures of building, etc...), but when i see something that i can take my time(like a Ferrari in the streets or something like that, i'm a car nut btw.) I just take my phone, even if it got a crap camera.
It got a button on the side that you can use to take pictures like a proper camera. I think that's pretty cool that they thought about this.
>>5652166
Using the same camera, though my set-ups for the photos and my post-processing is crap. I'm getting the hang of using manual mode with some after market lenses I picked up with a lens adapter ring, but I keep going back to using auto with the included lens.
>>5652166
i use a simple canon powershot sd1200 that i got 7 years ago, probably not very "powerful" now but it makes the job done for me, i still need to make a lightbox, though
Is there anything in particular I should know about the figma of Strength from black rock shooter? Things like bad fitting parts or is it solid?
>>5652732
There are 2. Ova and anime.
The Ova ogre arms are not designed to move the way you think, and many owners hamhanded her.
The anime is extremely re-engineered, and poses better, but the arms are waay bigger and difficult to pose and handle. It comes with parts so you can attach 4 Ogre arms, if you ever want to double dip a second figure.
So after waiting 5+ weeks for her to arrive, she finally shows up, and the tip of her rifle appears to be missing.
It's not in any of the bag compartments with her alternate hands and the Figma stand, it's not in the Figma bag, or anywhere else in the box.
I'm a Britbong, I bought her new from AmiAmi, will Goodsmile send me the part or tell me to fuck off?
>>5652887
They will, just send really clear pics of the rifle and what it should have and they should send you a replacement.
>>5652896
First time I've had to do this, is there a guide as to how to word the e-mail and what photos to take? I don't want them to think I'm trying to jew them for a free part.
>>5652732
be careful with her arms they are delicate and easy to break. I broke the thumb off and the arm off the wrist part where it rotates because I was hamhanding it, as it was one of my first figures ever.
>>5652916
Not really, I got a Nendoroid missing an essential piece to hold it and all I did was took a picture of the Nendoroid stand arm and then a picture of the manual showing the missing piece.
Just take a pic of the rifle you got and take another showing from the promo pictures which should show that the tip was missing. Just word your situation clearly.
>>5652932
I've emailed them.
Dumb question, but they're not going to ask me to send the whole figma back are they? I'm good to open the bags up and start posing her and shit?
>>5653020
Nah you're good, no reason to send an entire figma back.
Though now I just remember a case where an anon was told by a company to destroy his figure and send a pic of it before he gets the replacement. Just a random memory though.
Anyone who has movie version Motoko: is the barrel even meant to come off?
The rifle looks weird without it, and there's no silencer attachment for it to swap with.
>>5653032
>Though now I just remember a case where an anon was told by a company to destroy his figure and send a pic of it before he gets the replacement.
I remember that too, I think it was Big Bad Toy Store, can't remember what the toy was though.
So, after getting my grail, I accidentally moved the arm a little too hard and it broke. Is there anything I can do to get a replacement? I already contacted GSM asking for a replacement, but I haven't heard back in a while.
Is there any website where I can just buy spare parts?
>>5653044
Nope. Oddly enough it's a perfect fit for Snake's muzzle effect piece.
>>5653062
>Nope.
Shit, maybe I should have asked them for a replacement rifle instead of the missing piece then.
>>5653053
Try looking in Mandarake for a figma that would have the same color of shoulder joint. If not, at least find something that's similar to her scale, and then just cannibalize it for parts.
I do remember Hobby Base having similar joints to figmas, however. Their flat joints, I think? But I might be misremembering too.
>>5653053
>I already contacted GSM asking for a replacement, but I haven't heard back in a while.
It's the Golden Week right now in Japan, I guess they will answer you next week.
>>5653071
Oh shit right. That makes me feel a lot better, I thought I was going to have to do a patch job or just turn her into a statueshit. Do you think GSM will be able to send me a replacement? Taking into account the fact that she's an ancient figure?
>>5652166
Rebel SL1
So are the figures that are supposed to be released this month from AmiAmi won't take payment until the tomorrow?
>>5653125
I have a pancake lens and a couple other lenses but I mostly use the 18-55 it came with.
I like it cuz it's body is really small compared to my last xti
>>5651655
I love her look so time to gets
>>5653142
Though sometimes I get really lazy and just use my phone.
>>5653141
Depending on what figure you're talking about and it's general release date.
>>5653151
Well, specifically the Hulk Figma. I haven't found a specific release date outside of May.
Motoko's neck is THICK.
It makes some headswaps look kinda weird.
>>5651324
G-Gomenasai AmiAmi-sama I will buy something to make up for my transgression.
>>5653164
Possibly mid May then. Usually it'll indicate if a figure is slated to come out in the "early" or "late" part of the month. If not then I just assume it's mid.
>>5653164
That's because it doesn't have a specific release date yet. GSC provides schedule updates every Monday on their website, it'll be during one of those that they'll either announce a specific release date for Hulk or announce a delay. Note, though, that sometimes they may not announce a date until the last Monday of the month. Either way, Amiami will ask for payment as soon as they receive their shipment, which is usually 1-2 days before the announced release date. So if GSC were to announce that Hulk was coming on, say, the 20th, then you'd get a payment request on the 18th or 19th.
>>5652009
>>5652355
It's just a nitpick on my part, I only realised when I tried getting her to make this pose. To be fair I don't think the other figma I have could replicate it either.
>>5653053
You can get a mixed lot of 10 figma figure's Joint parts on ebay for $6.
>>5653086
They won't, you're fucked. It's too old.
>>5653299
I second this, I bought a bag of them and got like 8 of the shoulder joints, which is exactly what you need. You just need to heat and pop the broken peg out.
>>5653494
>>5653299
Alright, cool. Thanks for the help guys. I think I'm going to ebay the joints and then see if I can fix her arm that way.
Btw, what's preferable, doing the join replacement method, or using a pin vice to drill a hole and wire the peg back together? My main goal is to preserve articulation, so I'm unsure which would be better for that.
>>5653523
>pin vice to drill a hole and wire the peg back together?
You'll only get so many poses out of a repair before it breaks again. You can pin vice it now and wait til your ebay joints come for a proper replacement.
>>5653552
Man, honestly, I wouldn't mind waiting, but the issue is I live in a country where PayPal doesn't operate. I've been looking for a website that sells these joints other than ebay but I can't find anything. Cause I don't have PayPal, I can't buy anything off ebay.
If anyone knows another website that'll take non-paypal payment and sells these joints, please let me know.
>>5653244
They send the payment request when they have your order sorted out. You could get the payment request before OR after the release date.
>>5653560
It would probably be less of a hassle to just get another Alter figma. Or wait for the inevitable 2.0 when they market the hell out of the Heaven's Feel trilogy.
>>5653571
>wait for the inevitable 2.0
I had her for a day tho.... a day, and I've been meaning to get her for ages.
>>5653571
On that note, you think they'll pump out another Shiro? They just released that shit looking uniform ver. tho. We're confirmed for:
>Gilgamesh (Actually confirmed)
>Saber Alter 2.0
>Sakura Figma
>Kotomine/Ilya (???)
>>5653576
I'm ready for alter 2.0 and hoping for a lancer.
>>5652166
Nikon D7100 + 105mm 2.8 D macro + speedlight.
>>5653582
Lol, no. Best Servant didn't even get a figma when UBW came out and he was big in UBW. He's got a minor role in HF, Rider 2.0 is more likely than him.
>>5653560
What size joint do you need? I have blue/black for the bigger joint and skin color for smaller joint. Wouldn't mind shipping it for you for free as long as you pay the shipping fees
>>5653647
Oh shit, thanks so much man, but I think Alter uses the small joint. I'd be happy to pay you for the joint if you'd happen to have a small joint in black? And, if you do, I'll of course be covering the shipping fees as well.
>>5653182
nah, honda just has a midget head
>>5653576
Am I the only person who actually likes the uniforms or what?
Anyway, I'd love for actual Shirou and Rin 2.0s, since I like those outfits a lot too, not to mention they came with a bunch of shit the news ones don't.
>>5653668
>No UBW Shirou with that jacket.
>No UBW Rin with red coat.
You can see why we're mad about the tan uniforms.
>>5653658
Sorry, no small joint in black. You can easily paint them yourself though. My guts had a blue shoulder joint and you can't even tell. Don't worry about the cost of the joints, they're like $20 for 100 of them, just pay the shipping if you want to. Otherwise, I thought ebay do accept direct payment with debit/credit card. Do you live in Iran or something?
>>5653685
For comparison
>>5653685
I live in Pakistan, yeah. Our credit cards aren't internationally accepted. But yeah, thanks so much man, I'd love for you to send it to me, could you email me at ?
Also, for the shipping fee, since I don't have paypal, can I pay you in amazon giftcards or some other way?
>>5653687
Sent you an email. Just curious how do you usually do BST? Can you send money at all through routing account? Do you have Venmo, or other money transfer app?
>>5653707
I usually just buy people an amazon/steam/etc gift card. Generally, there's no buyer protection for me, but I've never been burned.
But nah, Pakistan, despite having a population of 180 million people, remains one of the most underdeveloped nations on Earth. We don't have amazon, steam, ebay or anything that relies on any of these services. There are a whole lot of reasons for this, but the chief one is that our government is very economically isolationist. Neither Venmo, nor easypay work here. The only one we can use is AliPay, and that too only because of a stimulus deal with the Chinese.
>>5652166
I have a canon rebel t3i and a galaxy S5 because i'm cheap as fuck. Also photoshop for post work.
Even with not great equipment, you can still pull off some great stuff as long as you learn how to do lighting and posing. Just gotta take your time with it.
>>5652183
I got my camera when it was $450 during a holiday sale a long time ago and it's lasted me awhile. You can find them used now for pretty damn cheap too. Hell, with your budget, you can easily splurge for the t5i if you wanted. I also hear good things about the nikon d3300!
>>5653810
I just realized that this is a figma general and not the photo general. I apologize for my mistake. Here is an example with figmas, this time.
>>5653815
>>5653717
This is gonna sound ignorant, because it is. But I legit thought Pakistan wouldn't have toys or the internet
>>5653854
Lol. It's not your fault for thinking that, when I was a student (in the US), I was straight up amazed at how your media portrayed us and how it conditioned you guys to think. When I was at Princeton, a school famous for being a liberal, educated stronghold, I continuously met Americans who thought we straight up lived in caves.
It's mainly because you guys only see the bad. No one wants to do a news segment on good stuff, but everyone jumps to the scene when a rape victim is burned to death for some retarded 'honor' killing. No one reports the fact that holy fuck balls that is illegal as fuck here and that her murderers were straight up sent to death row. Like, don't get me wrong, this place is fucked up, it's very, very fucked up, but it's not nearly as bad as you guys are conditioned to think it is. And, it's not some vast global conspiracy to make Westerners view Pakistanis and other 'undesirables' as an inferior people or culture (which, we, truthfully speaking, currently have although we didn't always used to be like this), it's just that nobody reports the good stuff.
But yeah, we have a crazy thriving weeb culture here, the internet and glazed doughnuts. Too many weebs.

and Rider 2.0
>>5654118
>Rider 2.0
Rider didn't sell well at all the first time. She was mostly shelf warming for a while before FSN picked up thanks to UBW, then the scalpers had their day. At most, they'll release three or four figmas for HF FSN:
>Gilgamesh.
>Sakura.
>Saber Alter 2.0.
>Rider, Shirou 3.0, Kirei are equally likely.
>>5654134
Gil's getting his figma thanks to Grand Order, and he doesn't show up much in HF to warrant an Adidas sportswear version (though that'd be awesome).
Would love for a Kirei but out of the last 3 you mention, I think the only likely one is Rider 2.0.
>>5653053
you too????
The same happened to me, and I had just arrived and as soon as remove the packing for review CRACK! the crunch ...
>>5654134
wot, no Prism Illya/Kuro Illya?
>>5654180
From all of the amazing Servants from GO, they go with Gilgamesh. Why not Joan? She's way more popular. And yeah, I agree, Rider is way more likely than BaddassButNotPopular Kirei or Shirou 3.0.
>>5654195
Holy shit where did you get that joint from and if that isn't your picture, then what did you do and how did you fix it?
>>5654196
Very doubtful because Prisma Illya figmas would be ridiculously difficult for GSC.
>>5654180
>Adidas sportswear version
Oh god I'd give my left arm for this.
>>5654200
I have no bloody idea, but they're also doing Shielder. I'm sure they'll do Joan at some point down the line, given she's already getting a nendo. I'm curious as to what will be the SP release with Fate/Extella (I just hope it's not Caster).
>>5654208
Tbh, I'm mixed about a Shielder figma. I mean, if it was a single release with no alternatives, I'd be the first to preorder it, but with so, so, so many alternatives available...
Have you seen Vlad III as Lancer? He was practically made for a figma. Or how about Joan or Joan-Alter, weabos would cut their cocks off for one of them. Or fuck even do Amakusa Shirou, he's pretty fucking cool. Or how about a Berserker figma? He's pretty big in HF? So, so many fucking options and GSC goes with the one we should have had when FSN first got figmas made.
For Fate/Extella, I'm pretty sure it's gonna be Saber Attila. We're already getting a Caster figma, and Saber Nero already has one.
>>5654200
>Very doubtful because Prisma Illya figmas would be ridiculously difficult for GSC.
How? Their designs are no more difficult than say the Madoka or Nanoha girls.
>>5654226
I meant in marketing terms. Now, I'll be the first to say that my argument here is flimsy, but the fact is that if they choose to delve into Prisma Illya, there are a shitton of forms. The class cards make every character have a second more desirable form and the main character, Illya, changes every second episode.
Sure, both Madoka and BRS had schoolgirl forms and battle forms, but overall they had just two, Prisma Illya girls have a shit ton of forms.
>>5654231
That means more figures to farm otaku gold with.
>>5654241
Prisma Illya isn't that popular in Japan anyway. They'd much rather do something that has had a crap load of fan service. Something like Fate/GO.
>>5654231
They'd probably just go for their standard forms if anything.
>>5653972
It's not Pakistan, but a few years ago I went to Israel with my professor to document some event (or me do the work of taking pictures while my professor had his vacation and wrote a few blog posts) and I was damn amazed at how much parts of it reminded me of being in a place like Miami or something. Hell, I have a friend who went to Saudi Arabia and sent me pics of tates or something there. It's weird how insular western culture is. No matter where we are in the world, we all understand the wonders of 2D.

I like to think that there are certain themes that are universal across humanity. Themes that can link us all together. Anime, for all it's shit, links plenty of those common elements to from an extremely wide fanbase. Western culture, which I think we can all agree is currently the best kind, despite all it's shit, is bleeding over everywhere. A hundred years ago, an Imperial Japanese Citizen would never have believed that his glorious, militant nation is now famously known as 'Earth's Florida'. 2D and toys are just one thing that connect all human beings because they're an intrinsic part of us.

You can tell you forced the joint just by looking at it's position, and the angle of the tear.
Don't fucking claim "it just happened" when you used your tard strength without checking to see if you were doing it right.

>Now, I'll be the first to say that my argument here is flimsy,
Stopped reading here.
If you don't have any faith in your own argument, then it's pretty much a worthless argument.
>>5654222
I'd love for many of the servants featured in F/GO to get a figma, but I doubt we're getting most of the cooler ones. Hell, Extra had a shitton of great servants, and we only got a Saber out of it (though now Caster is on the horizon).
>We're already getting a Caster figma
Yeah, but we don't know if that Caster will be an SP release or not, that's why I'm worried.
>>5654416
Others would say that natural skepticism of everything is more useful than ineffectual bravado.
>>5654413
autism
>>5654423
>Yeah, but we don't know if that Caster will be an SP release
Oh shit right. Tbh, I just hope they make Atilla. Delicious brown please. Caster's great, but I'm split on whether to buy her or not.
>>5654423
Look at this tho. You tell me you wouldn't drop your panties for this motherfucker as a figma. Black Lancer was legit made for a figma, but at this point I'll take anything...
>>5654443
forgot pic

Oh lawd yes.
Speaking of Type-Moon shenanigans...

Wtf GSC?

suck it, scalper cunt
>>5654491
The scalper, cunt he may be, is probably safe tho. Saber 3.0 has a very, very low chance of happening, considering that she has a very low chance of happening.
>>5653631
They'll just rerelease 2.0. They aren't going to retool/redesign a figma that's already leaps and bounds ahead of what they are still currently producing.
>>5654134
>Rider didn't sell well at all the first time. She was mostly shelf warming for a while before FSN picked up thanks to UBW, then the scalpers had their day.
That's not true at all. She was sold out on pre-order. She was my first figma and I went through hell to get it. Alter was the one that shelfwarmed for months. She was barely even a character back then until Carnival Phantasm gave her a personality.
>>5654134
Nope she sold out on release. My local toy supplier wasn't able to get her due to shortage of stocks(this was when figmas were made in a fixed quantity rather than made based on how many preorders the product) so I had to watch Amiami, HLJ, Hobbysearch for a restock(Thankfully someone probably cancelled his her order at Hobbysearch and I was able to get her there). She had a rerelease along with figma Saber 1.0 during the UBW's airing, now this I don't know if she soldout but I'm guessing both of them did.
>>5654195
I think this is a known problem of this figma, similar to Drossel, the shoulder joint is way too tight that it by moving the joint stresses the stem and will lead for it shear off, mine has this problem too and I don't bother to move her shoulder joints for fear of breaking her. I got her during her release date and I emailed GSC about this but they didn't even replied to my email :(
>>5653571
>tfw we'll never get figmas of the original six servants
Hell, I just wish they released a Kotomine to go along with Kiritsugu instead of an Irisviel
>>5655116
>interchangable Archer arm
Already got that. That was the first Shirou.
>>5655112
>Kotomine ... instead of an Irisviel
Was I the only one who like Irisviel? But yeah, I'd have prefered Kirei over her. And just fucking forget about getting the original seven servants. False Assassin, True Assassin, Caster and Berserker have BARELY any fanservice. Prepare for shit choices like Shielder over Joan and a ton of reissues.
>>5654314
Look, forgive the tardiness of my reply but anyway not think you'll be of much help.
Saber Alter was acquired in the 2010 for Hobby Search, as soon as I arrive figure this was broken on contact, after throwing all the insults that came to my mind check the type of damage and then send a message to HobbySearch stating the facts and sending a clear picture of the damage in the figure, to my luck the company took responsibility and decided to send me free of charge a spare piece of the damaged part.
>>5655492
Having read the recommendations I found on / toy / in dealing with figures Figma and put the figure in hot water for a period of 50 seconds I had no problems to remove broken with a pin and a piece of cutter piece
>>5655494
The hot water softens the PVC material of which are made the pieces of the figure, facilitating remove parts
What the fuck happened to this guy's Motoko?
Here the new piece in the figure
>>5655509
>>5655508
Motoko have one little spider in his head?
Or one wart?
>>5655519
Finally I could reassembling arm with the new piece and Presto! finally save the figure.
>>5655522
On that occasion I was fortunate who treated me and gave me help, if you purchased your figure by a product authorized sales online then I recommend you do the same, send a message giving precise details of the damage to your figure, as well as photo evidence of the broken part, if not get help you should consider look the part on Ebay, it is now possible to get spare parts, but not the costs of the same
Good luck with you problem
>>5654905

I can tell you that was not my case, I acquired Drossel in the distant 2009 when they were in presale by Hobby Search, the figure came to me and so far nuna've had trouble handling it, the pieces are solid and almost always laa I have inside its original packaging, something similar happened to me with the figure of Black Rock Shooter, thanks to the experience with Saber Alter whole new figure Figma is put hot for easy mobility water, it was a lesson that I urge every collector of Japanese figures follow, take precautions with their collections and much frustration can be avoided.
>I got her during her release date and I emailed GSC about this but they didn't even replied to my email :(
Damn, sons of bitches
Your case is regrettable, in your place I would have persisted, sending dozens of messages to have an answer, but you get any, then had denounced / toy / she is saying with details who were the bastards who took your money and did not help him
>>5655527

I can tell you that was not my case, I acquired Figma Drossel in the distant 2009 when they were in presale by Hobby Search,The figure came in perfect condition and never showed damage or fragility, I have it in its packaging most of the time and when the unboxed always take care with small parts and fragile as arms and ear tip
When acquired the first version of Figma Black Rock Shooter saw as had numerous complaints in / toy / regarding the fragility of this figure, especially of the joint that connects the chest waist, so place it in hot water no more than 40 seconds and then realized that I had no problems with their mobility, remember that most of the Figma figures are made of PVC, a cheap material and in many ways, fragile, take precautions with their figures and then regret it
>>5655572
>Where and when did you buy it?
In the 2010, adquire in presale for Hobby Search for only 2266 yens more 510 for shipment
MFC says Caster is coming out in October. Is there any source for that? Skimmed the thread but didn't see anything.
>>5655886
I haven't seen anything from GSC, so it sounds like baseless speculation.
Oh god, I'm not even in Tokyo yet.
Has anyone gotten payment requests for the May figma's yet?

Too fabulous 4him
