It's a super cliche title but it could mean that Galvatron is some ancient bot that was cast out/sealed away/thought to have been killed long long ago, possibly even before the war like during the ancient early days of Cybertron or something and he has somehow resurfaced to take revenge on all Cybertronians in general or some shit? They're always doing references to things from all sorts of different series. A lot of the creators over their are also huge fanboys and keep up on happenings on the US side. The Powered Convoy repaint of Ultra Magnus is named after Delta Magnus from IDW, for example.

Hell, going back further MP Optimus' gun transformation is based on a panel from an IDW comic.

I'm pretty tempted to grab UW Menasor since he's finally cheap enough for me but the awkward legs are putting me off. Is he a mess without the Prefect Effect kits or is there a way of posing him that doesn't look too bad?

Then I'd say go for the official. Smaller figures are usually easier to work with in terms of posing, I've found. Messing with my Legends has always been easy, but fucking around with my combiners is generally a half an hour of playing weight distribution unless I choose a simple pose.

Time varies of course, but the smaller ones are always easier for me.

For me it's not the joints, all of them hold pretty well on my combiners. It's just the weight of it all. Like, Menasor is just a top heavy motherfucker. Even with PE stuff, he's still top heavy. I just can't do poses with him I can with, say, Superion, because he will want to just do a header off my shelving. So he takes the longest by far to mess with, usually a half an hour or more unless I'm just giving him a simple stance. And I usually lean him back against my shelving anyway just in case because I'm afraid my toy will try to high dive off and smash itself on my carpet into a pile of lost money and broken dreams.

The PE feet/hands kit is all you really need, if for even nothing else besides the larger feet and ankle rockers. The chest set looks nice but if you're not into the partsforming to get him to transform between robot and vehicle mode, it's really not necessary to make him look alright. You can get a pretty ok looking torso mode by ignoring the official transformation for the legs and doing them like >>5632031 has them. Motormaster's thighs kinda help fill out the waist and the crotch guard gives the illusion that he's got a waist. It helps a LOT for such a small thing. Just make sure you take Motormaster's legs apart and get some floor polish (or whatever your tightening solution of choice is) in his knees though. His knees aren't on ratchets and are a little on the loose side if you're going to be using them for Menasor's hips but tightening them up will help his stability a LOT.

Hasbro doesn't do hard release dates for anything but movies, and even then, it's only a "don't sell before X", not "you have to start on X" thing.

And as far as I've heard, Europe is the most neglected of all areas. I don't think you guys ever had wave 2 ever sent (might be confusing you with UK specifically). On top of that, I've heard Italy is one of the worst in terms of access to toys, and definitely one of the harshest in terms of importing them in by mail.

He's just mediocre, not awful, but not great either.
Also the designers made it in some weird middle road where he's kinda IDW-ish in some aspect and G1 in other parts.

Breakdown should have been the First Aid mold. It's a closer match to Prime Breakdown's alt mode and having a 5mm port of the arm more's forearm would have allowed Grand Galvatron to have his cannon mounted there instead of up on the shoulder.

If anything the price will go up, the CW sets sold second hand would go up and down but UW ones tend to remain consistent.

Think carefully, you can always cobble together a hasbro one if it works out cheaper

While an organic-looking whale mode is very unlikely, I hope that whatever the upcoming one is, that you could fanmode it into a decent whale.
