Did anyone pickup Aigis in the end? Is she worth grabbing?
>>
>>5628954
Some other anon on previous threads had her. She looked great and is larger that the polynians but I still haven't pulled the trigger. I might any day though if I get some extra cash.

I hope Yume comes in by the middle of the week. Need my robot school girl man.
>>
>>5628151
Ordered Mel and I don't even want her anymore. Arse
>>
>>5628972

Why not?
>>
>>5629043
Not him but the hair is kinda dumb-looking and the design is sort of all over the place.
I still like it, it keeps growing on me.
>>
>>5629107
I actually love her hair and it's what convinced me to get her. Still didn't preorder though....
>>
>>5629043
Not entirely sure. I love the design but I'm not bothered about owning a lewdish robot girl anymore.

I don't get it. You guys don't like her, but you do? So, you like her, but regret preordering her?

Honestly, I like her look a lot. In fact, at one point, I was almost convinced I liked her better than Yume. I think I like them both pretty equally now, but the only thing I don't really care to much for on Mel is the green on her swimsuit. It sort of looks odd to me. However, I love her concept, look, and accessories.

Besides, having all the extra parts to potentially start swapping with some of the others is also nice. I don't want to miss figures in this line, just by virtue of the fact that I don't want to miss the parts/clothes/accessories and regret it down the line.
>>
Ok when the fuck does Yume drop?
She's February on HLJ and still just sitting at "Order Stop" for me.
>>
>>5629448

She got delayed from February to April back at like the end of January.

Thursday or Friday, in the last thread, there was a post with a pic from Daibadi's twitter that said the shipment was going through customs into Japan, and after they pass through, they get sent out to individual retailers.

So, it'll be sometime very soon. Likely within the next few days.
>>
>>5629448
Fuck off Andrew.
>>
>>5629346
No I like her, I'm just being all stingy with my money. I will when I find a good place to preorder her from.
>>
>>5629448
Anon who posted the FB pics here. >>5629476 is right. Shes passing through customs right now so my guess is that maybe sometime in the middle of the week she should be getting sent to sellers then to the buyers. So be patient anon, she'll be here soon.

>I don't get it. You guys don't like her, but you do? So, you like her, but regret preordering her?

I like the design but I regreat preordering for some reason. May be entirely down to enforcing stricter preorder rules on myself and knowing that I wouldn't preorder it now if it was to go up today to order.

Maybe getting her in hand will convince me I like a lewd robot girl.

Something about these robutts... They're very easy to fall out of love with. I wouldn't go quite so far as to call them dick buys, but they're borderline for the most part.

My Shamrock is pretty much the only toy I own that I've considered selling.

>>
>>5635771
Just make sure you have a budget and that you do your beat to stay in it. That's the best advice I ever got here >_< I was at the point once where I consistently had $2-3k orders from AmiAmi and I was literally just working to buy toys. It was nice but super stressful...
>>
>>5635905
Oh, I have the budget, lol. But up to now the most I ever spent on a figure was $40, as my adult-years collection is still small right now. I already have enough for one of them shipped, just need to lock away the rest to PayPal over the next 2-3 pay checks in increments. Aside from rent and utilities (live with folks) I pay for all my food, gas, necessities, and frivolities all while working full time with insurance. I was wondering what the new big expenditure in my newfound hobby would be, and the answer is a pair of grey robutts.

>>
Are these guys from a show or something? I tried googling them but all it comes up with are the figures
>>
>>5636540
They're not from a show but they're making some VN based off of them.
>>
>>5636540
They are essentially fetish-bots. It didn't quite start that was as the designer did many characters before these as garage kits. Unfortunately, the fetish designs sell, or fortunately since they are well constructed figures.

The true unfortunate part comes in the form of never receiving any character from this world that the designer made aside from the niche fetish one. I highly doubt that we will ever get the large bulky robot or the sleeker human male in a jump suit, unless he comes with a bulge like the male ones have thus far.

I support the line both because I enjoy the character design and because I want more releases like his Aegis, there were many others that are quite desirable but may never happen, the most popular being Samus and Roll. Megaman to a lesser degree as he has a few figures at this point.

Anyway, I got my payment request for Yume from AmiAmi yesterday. I paid already but I am pretty on the fence about keeping her.
>>
>>5636599
>sleeker human male in a jump suit
I don't think I've seen this one before.
>>
>>5636599

You've got to remember that this has really only been a figure line for maybe a little over a year. It seems like kind of a start-up anyway. You can't expect dozens of figures in that amount of time.

Also, the figures are good, but a lot of people found Aegis to be too expensive, when there are cheaper options out there, and are from more well known, established lines, and they're good figures on their own.

Seems like not that many people even still know about Daibadi or the Polynians yet.
>>
>>5636599
How study are these figs? Seen some reviews about 'em and they don't appear to be that solid.
>>
>>5636655
This. Anon is right. The line is still in its early run so within time they could expand their roster of figures and include others from other series likebthey did with Aigis.

For right now, it seems they're working on the early Polynians that were kits before and it somewhat works in our favor IMO since it leaves us with chance to secure our own figures (and resell them, if thats what you want) but it does hinder them a bit as it is still not well established within the large toy collecting community but again that can all change with time.

How good are the joints overall? Seems like some japs are complaining about them.
http://nov.2chan.net/y/res/3515414.htm
>>
>>5637740
They take some getting used to. They probably don't like that, or the fact that they're so prominent and not being hidden.
>>
>>5637741
I actually like that they are so prominent and incorporated into the design instead of looking like an eyesore like most joints fucking weird notches cut out of your toy's elbow always look awkward.
>>
Not sure if it's been said before, but Mel is open for preorder on HLJ as of now.
>>
>>5637741
Not that. I mean if they joints are loose at all.
>>
>>5637783
They're friction joints so over time if you mive them around alot and put them through alot of stress they may loosen and get all floppy. But with good care they'll hold up pretty well.
>>
Still waiting on my email from HLJ for yume, anyone else or should I be worried O-O

I repose Clover a lot, and none of her joints have gotten weak.

The arms and legs just peg on, so if you're doing some kind of extreme pose, they can sometimes pop off, but they go right back on, and stay on just fine on their own, though.

None of the promotional images show her with them off, but I don't see why they wouldn't be. The naked ones have pegs on their feet for stands, I could imagine that's how the sandals go on.
>>

Even if they can't, just switch the feet over from one of the other figures.
>>
>>5639116
We had this same question asked on here a few threads ago. We agreed that they most likely wont be removable as all the promo images that show her with her accessories dont't show her with them off or show them as accessories.

The model kit ver. has them off if that helps.

Just got my Yume which is my first Polynian.
So far shes great but not sure if others have had this problem so far her ponytail was a pain to attach, her left hair/ear piece keeps falling off, left skirt attachment wont fit in the hole and when it does it pops right out, she keeps falling in half where her stomach attaches to her legs.

Not sure what to do since it makes posing and well keeping everything together a pain. Is there a way I can fix them or get replacement pieces? Also I can post pictures of the problem spots if needed.
>>
>>5644543

>>
So I went on a pre-order impulse and got the gray version of Clover before it wasn't available on AmiAmi anymore, and managed to also get Mel from a different site.

These better be good.
>>
>>5644562
Yeah that pretty much sums up what I meant.
I mean she can be posed and those problems can be fixed I think...but still not a good first impression. Feels like a bought a bootlegged figma...
>>
>>5644628
I would probably get a replacement or a refund if it keeps giving you trouble.

Also, how do the joints feel?
>>
>>5644648
The arms are stiff and the knee joints are kind of loose so she cant keep a good standing position sometimes. Also the joint that connects her chest and stomach together doesnt have much friction so she kind of tilts a bit or slouches over a bit.
>>
>>5644628
Sad to hear, I was a Clover early adopter and thought it was a great figure.

Funnily enough I cancelled my Yume preorder at the last second to pick up the SHF Scout Trooper. I'd never considered Daibadi might not have enough experience to make peg-in parts work well yet.
>>
>>5644794
Yeah I already have the tanned Clover and Mel pre-ordered but this is a bad first impression.
I can tell the pegs like on the skirt accessories are a bit too big or misshaped to fit in the holes. As for the other issues not sure whats causing them and have yet to see any complaints from others.

Got Mine today

>Loose knee joints
She doesn't flop around at the knees, but it does feel lacking in friction. She holds a pose fine, though
>Hair pain in the ass to insert
Yep, but once it was in, no complaints there
>Loose torso
No problem with Mine
>Stiff arms
Elbows fill a bit stiff, but still moves smoothly. Wish the joints were this stiff at the knees, though.
>Hip plates pop off
It does feel like the pegs should be just a smidgen longer, but I've had no problems of them popping off once I got them on.

Her thighs are deliciously thick. She so damned cute, I have no complaints about her at all; I feel like I got My money's worth out of her. I'll try to do some pics this week.
>>
>>5645693
I got mine today, but I haven't been able to open her yet. Got the box and had to head off to work. I'll open her up when I get home in the morning and take a look at her and maybe take some pics.
>>
>>5645693
So I guess it has as much QC variation as MoMo figures.
>>
>>5645693
Yeah the hair was a pain like I said but it is in there so won't have to worry about it anymore.

As for the arms once I moved them around a bit they got better.

As for the other problems they still remain though I think I can fix the skirt attachment not staying on by using glue which is ok with me since I see no reason to remove them. Not sure about the left ear/hair piece that keeps popping off though.
>>
>>5645794
Honestly, that's kind of the feeling I get too. But like MoMo, there's enough strength in the originality of the designs and appeal of the robutts that QC issues are kind of worth the price to pay to help support this line.
>>
>>5644690
I'm having basically all the same problems with mine, all her joints are either tight as hell or flopping around like a noodle. There's also random flecks of red/pink paint on some of the white sections, and a scratch on one of her legs. I'm quite unimpressed given the cost of the thing.
>>
>>5645855
Sad to say someone else has similar problems but yeah that's like I said makes me feel upset for what I paid.
Really though besides the small pieces that fall off the biggest thing is that she keeps falling in half.
>>
Any confirmation on being able to swap faces between Yume and the lewdbots?

What's the best way to go about complaining about the quality of my Yume without outright sending a messaging demanding a new one?

I can't even get her ponytail to fit into her ribbon piece or her head.

Also, what's up with her gripping hands just having pegs instead of the hobby joints?
>>
>>5645988
>what's up with her gripping hands just having pegs instead of the hobby joints?

Unfortunately in all likelihood the volume that the hobby join peg need to slot in to inside the hand is conflicting with where the gripping hole need to be. It's sad to hear they went with that as a fix, I would like to see if there is another design solution to keep the joint.
>>
Welp, pre-ordered shota or along with the gray lewbots. Think I'll paint Emil's white parts gray for swapping out with Clover and Shamrock.

Also, is it just me or do the gray Clover and Shamrock seem MORE lewd than the white originals?
>>
>>5646237
They do seem more lewd. Their bodies seem to have a little shine to them and those blushes glowing on the dark skin look lewd.

Finally opened mine up.

I didn't have any problems with her, other than like others have said, her hair peg is maybe a little to big, or the hole on her head is maybe a little small. I'm guessing the heat treatment could probably fix that and get it to stay in fine.

Also, she was apart at the torso in the box, but once I put other together, she didn't come apart again.

Don't have any loose joints or anything on mine.

Her and Clover will share lots of sexy tiems together, while waiting for more of these to come out.
>>
>>5646237
>>5646328

I'm willing to bet the final product for the grey ones will be like the regular white ones in that the skin is more matte, so they won't be as shiny.
>>
>>5646371
It looks like she has thicker thighs than Clover.
>>
>>5646328
I think it might just be my liking darker-skinned waifus in manga, so any toning on skin looks sexy to me.

But the fact that the joints are less of a color-contrast yet still noticeably darker also plays a role in my boner for these dark robutts.

My Yume came in today.
Like folks here have reported, getting the ponytail in her head requires some force, and even though I had some pop-age here and there, all the joints feel firm.
The only issue with mine is that the peg in the sword holding hand is a bit tinier than the hole itself, so it tends to wobble somewhat.

Aside from that, it's a pretty cool figure
>>
Opened my Yume today too.

The ponytail hole required a little warming and after a few hours of handling I'm convinced that one of her legs is the tiniest bit longer than the other, but otherwise no issues. None of the peg-in parts have been popping out and the quality of the paint is on-par with my Clover and Shamrock.
>>
>>5645945
>>5645940
>Blowjob face

How long before the japanese imageboards are overflooded with lewd new pics of shamrock?
>>
Got my Yume in today, and I have to add my +1 to floppy-ass knees.

She can stand just fine, and most poses so far seem to be as stable as any other highly-poseable person figure, but her right knee in particular will flap around if you breathe on it wrong. I wish they were as tight as the hips or shoulders, those are great.

The ponytail was a nightmare, too, and I'm pretty sure I don't have it in all the way yet.

Ultimately, I'm not super bothered by the joint strengths, because they're standard issue hobby joints. I can fix them or replace them cheaply.

She's my first Daibadi purchase, and probably my only Polynian, unless we get more designs like >>5638189, but I have to say, overall, I'm very happy with the figure.

My only "real" complaints are that the neck area seems too long? and the simple foot-peg base doesn't really do shit. Otherwise, she's great.

Got Yume today. Gotta say, all the joints on mine are quite loose except the shoulders. Here's a tip though. If you find that the ponytail is hard to plug in, reverse the joint. For some reason, it made life easier.

Also, +1 for falling apart at the torso. A LOT. Can't pick her up by the top without the bottom just falling off.

Just putting her in this pose took way too much effort. Apart from the torso popping apart several times, the loose knees kept giving away and the feet were hopeless at balancing her.

It's a shame because the design is cute and I'm sure I can fix the looseness of the joints. I guess my expectations were too high since I'm only used to figuarts/figma figures.

I think the biggest disappointment is that I boxed her away after messing with her for just an hour. Just couldn't bare the looseness and the torso coming apart. Here's to hoping Mei and Emil will be better.
>>
I preordered Yume on HLJ. She'll be my first Polynian, but reading the above has me scared.
She's cute, but should I keep her? Is she worth keeping?
>>
>>5647811
Only get her if you're willing to fix whatever issue, if any, that might plague your copy.

Design wise, I love her. It's the execution that sucks. And again, it's all fixable stuff.
>>
Finally got my Yume today after the mail guy almost missed me. When I first got her out of the box, I could already tell the left arm has some serious friction issues, like, it wouldn't even hold a position for more than 2 seconds. The Torso joint is really stiff-- It was as if I could break it if I tried forcing it a little too much. I'm also having troubles with her hair like others have mentioned.

Overall, I'm sorta "meh". I loved the sexy as hell aesthetic of the figure, but I don't really see myself messing around with it a lot.
>>
>>5647701
Yeah I was the anon that posted about my issues with it earlier and surprised you and a few others share the same issues. Especially with the torso falling apart. I go to pick her up or move something and I either lose her top or bottom half on the floor. As for the loose joints the right knee is the same one thats loose for me as well. I'm gonna keep her posed the best I can since she has nice sitting poses but I gave up on keeping her skirt on as the peg that holds it just pops off.
>>
>tfw you wanted to use yume as a more action-oriented figure and pose her a lot but everything points to her being ill-fitted for it
I hope mine is not shit.
>>
>>5648172
Yeah. After seeing reading these posts all day it's made me think about getting her. I ordered her late and am still waiting for her since HLJ has her as backordered. I hope that maybe the the joint problems were restricted to just a batch of figures, I still plan on getting her as I like the design but problems still worry me
>>

I currently have all of the polynians POed on HLJ but I'm actually considering cancelling my Shamrock. It'll help me save some cash and I actually find myself wanting him less as time passes
>>
>>5648220
Shamrock and Clover shouldn't have problems as the white ones were fine. Can't see how they'd be any different as repaints.

But I've got Emil PO'd and now I'm worried he's going to be all rag-doll at the joints like Yume seems to suffer from.

Okay so for those of you who have their Yume (not me still waiting) Looks like Daibadi has posted a repair turotial/how to for the loose joints on Yume or other Polynians. It says to follow the description on each picture to repair it. It also says that it should be done at our own risk as doing it wrong could mess up the joint.
>>
>>5648462
Ugh fucking stupid.

I'm just going to cancel my order at HLJ. With such a mess of a figure I don't feel like fixing some shit thats been delayed for awhile now on their part.

Not to mention these quality control issues are a fucking pain.

>>
Also since earlier someone said I can contact them via FB I tried and it says the message was viewed a day ago yet no reply. I tried twitter as well and they just referred me back to their FB page. It seems once I mentioned the issues they didn't want to reply...
>>
My Yume just got here a while ago.

I didn't really have any issues getting her ponytail in, and the pegs on and around her skirt haven't given me any issues, but her torso falling off and her knees being loose is sadly the case with mine, as well. The knees I could live with, but her falling in half at the slightest touch is not ideal.

Kinda regretting preordering Emil.
>>
Have Yume and Mel on order and I don't plan on canceling either. I know not everyone who gets unlucky with a botched robot will be willing to drop more money on extra parts for an already expensive figur. But for those of us who are crazy enough to at least we can pick up extra hobby base joints and swap them around till we get a nice set.
>>
>>5648703

I was thinking the same thing. I plan on buying multiples of most of these figures anyway for the parts swapping, so I am sure I will always have spare joints anyway.

>>
>>5648887
You don't have to be tempted, MoMos are a real gamble in QC terms. Chocolatte there, and her compatriot Hi-Riridine, for example, were both given these really high-contrast promo shots that made them look more like they were gunmetal than flat gray, and a lot of people didn't like that owing to the bait-and-switch feel it game. This happened early on in the line's birth too, with people thinking the nazi robot Ingenue Head would get an alternate hairpiece and hat, when in fact she did not. Also exploding knees and loose joints, though this seems a tad less common.

Like I said I'm still buying but I'm still aware of the risks.

This is pretty much the only toy I have ever bought as an adult, and it will likely be my last. This is just such a massive piece of shit, and I paid a lot for it. I was going to get Emil too so I could pose them next to each other on my desk. Y'know something cute for my cubicle. But nah, I'd have to be an idiot to buy any more of this garbage. I'll just buy a fucking plant or some shit.

I don't care how cute a figure may look, I'm never going to let myself get tricked into this shit again.

At least yours doesnt fall in half like mine and another anon mentioned earlier its fucking stupid.

I'm sorry to hear that anon. At least you are suffering this frustration alone. If that's any consolation...

I did eventually get the ponytail in. My thumbs hurt like fucking shit though. What I did was removed the ball joint from the pony tail completely, and then wiggle and pounded it into the hole in the head. Once it I twisted it around a bunch. Then removed it and assembled it all together.

Everything falling is a massive quality issue. And the fact that one leg is noticeably longer than the other seems like an inexcusable oversight.

I was tempted to buy the others too. So glad I chose not to.

It's still fucking bullshit but Daibadi seem to be concerned about it being that way.

The past ones didn't have any QC issues, though.
It's so weird it turned out like this, you'd think that this being their third mass release they wouldn't have these problems they didn't have on earlier releases.

I lucked out for the most part on mine. I've only got the loose knees and the waist sliding off.

I grabbed some Hobby Base joints for the knees, but I'm wondering if there's any reason why I can't glue the lower torso to the waist? Seems like it could hold everything together a bit more. I remember that was a problem with Clover too, and I never got around to fixing it either.

I don't think you'd want to glue her, if you ever plan on taking the skirt off.

They're from a yet to be released visual novel. The Polynians are basically robot aliens who arrive on Earth and the humans don't trust them. War breaks out but eventually ends when the humans and the robots find out they're sexually compatible and Clover, the naked female robot, gives birth to the first human/Polynian child.

Also iirc Shamrock and the rest of the boy Polynians canonically can become mpreg.

Try not to let this put you off figures too badly. This company is the new kid on the block (and might not be on the block for very long if this is representative, damn shame considering their first three figures were solid), try getting some things from Bandai (SHF, SIC, Movie Realization), Max Factory (Figma), Medicos (Super Action Statue) or Mezco (One:12 Collective) before calling it a wash.

Or if you've got money to burn, Hot Toys.

While, for the most part, I really hate ultra realistic toys and prefer stylization, there's a few exceptions I made to get Hot toys. Mainly based off movies and designs that I'm really fond of. Robocop, for example.

that said, I never get the people who buy up tons of them for a bunch of generic Hollywood movies. Marvel Hot toys displays are sickening. Most of those designs are trash.
>>
>>5649893
I like the MCU designs but the Hot Toys displays of them reek of how boring they look. They are like the second tier of collectors with a lot of money but offensively scarce imagination.

If someone is going to start burning through money I'd suggest Assault Lillies or getting into customization.

when you go to confirm payment there's a drop box option to combine with other orders. Either that or go into your account settings and click on modify orders and try tinkering around there.

Just a heads up, most of the peg holes are too small for msg pegs. There are a few exceptions. The smaller sword/ hatchet handles from the laser sword fit her hands, but when you combine the sword ther are no pegs small enough for her to hold.

Ok, so for those of us having problems with her falling apart at the waist, her body is composed of an upper body that has a joint in it, a middle stomach section that the joint goes thru, into the hips. You might want to try taking all three of these pieces apart and reversing the joint, or just taking the joint and placing it directly into her hip hole without going thru her stomach part, twisting it around to stretch the plastic a bit before reassembling. I fiddled with the joint for awhile and she is way more stable now, not falling off at the waist all the time at least.

Not all of the MCU figures are bad, I've got the Silver Centurion and the IM2 suits, those look great. The problems started when they began releasing Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, etc figures on a seemingly weekly basis.

I do also have Robocop, that's possibly my favourite movie ever and it wouldn't have felt right passing on the ultimate collectible for the character.

>>5649863
I'm truly sorry this was a disappointing experience for you, anon. If you want some 'cute' figures look into Figma, they're generally pretty solid. Alternatively get some of the Star Wars SHFs if you're into that kind of thing.

I think the problem is less with Daibadi and more with their factory in China. China's getting notorious for this shit, they'll deliver great things on your first couple of projects and as soon as they've secured lengthier contracts cut the quality of their output.

It's why a lot of companies are moving their manufacturing elsewhere, to places like Vietnam and Malaysia.

>>
>>5650327
This. And in general if you are making stuff in china you need one of your guys, or a really trust worthy contact on the factory floor at all times. Factories will cut corners to increase there own margin and I have seen (This is in regard to electronics manufacturing) factors swap out parts for cut rate alternative and then pass the savings back to the ODM with out saying a word like it was an okay thing to do.

What I am guessing is happening here, and this is a big guess because I don't know how Daibadi handles their relation ship with Hobby Base. Is that the injection molding tooling on the Hobby Base joints was getting really worn out and the factory decided they they were going to get a couple thousand extra pulls out of the molds before going through the expense of redoing the tooling. The problem has mostly already been fixed but it still produced a bad batch of joints that, knowingly or not, slipped though QC.

Yeah, there's a joint in there so she can lean forward/back a bit or twist her torso sideways; gluing her chest to her stomach will lock the balljoint in and make moving it impossible. If you are talking about gluing her stomach(waist) and hip together, that I could see working well since you can still slip her skirt over her waist, and there doesn't seem to be room for movement between those two parts, plus it is one of the spots where the figure is most likely to come apart at. Pictured is her chest removed from balljoint, which goes thru the stomach into her hips.
>>

This was from the company's blog.

I see. Do the part with the ball joint stay firm at all? As long as the ball joint part is ok the other part could be glued together.
I don't have mine yet but I think I can fix it if the problem is just there.
>>
>>5650603
the part with the ball joint is a little looser than I would like, but it's tight enough that she holds together. The connection you have pictured is the one that was pretty unstable for me, it's better now but at first she was falling apart there all the time.

I just followed the guide on daibadi's facebook page where they have you pry apart the balljoints and apply masking tape to the shaft to give it some extra friction, knees are holding together much better too.

This. This exact thing. She falls apart in the middle. And I had to use a hair dryer to get her ponytail in. Also, why do her leg joints go up into the body instead of to the left or back? To make her move her legs forward I have to pull them off, spin the joint around, and put it back. Then I cant spread them. Bad first impression.
>>
For those having waist joint problems. Remove her torso, take her belly peice off and shove the joints peg in. It should fit fine once you get it in good. Take off the joint now and plug her belly back in. Make sure you shove the peg in good, but be careful not to break off anything. I'm going to do a review of her later and then hit her with some floor polish.

Newfag who now has a huge ladyboner for original Polynian Shamrock here hi.

I have a few questions despite lurking:
- Is the original with light skin and pink hair discontinued or did I make this up to scare myself?
- If it's still being made, how often does amiami restock them? Ebay's scalp prices don't appeal to me...
- Can I find it easily from mandarake's site without japanese terms?

Most japanese figures don't really have the long runs where they keep being restocked the way western toys do. So yeah, original Shamrock is not currently in production.
